नई दिल्ली के पी.एम.ओ. में 21 सीटोंवाली टीक से बनी अंडाकार मेज के नीचे छह लोगों ने एक साथ अपनी मुट्ठियाँ भींच रखी थीं। आखिर कैसे उनकी प्रधानमंत्री उनसे इस लहजे में बात कर सकती हैं? आखिर कैसे संविधान ऐसे लोगों को प्रधानमंत्री बनने की इजाजत देता है जिनके पास लोकसभा की 543 में से महज 35 सीट हैं?

भारत के प्रधानमंत्री का विमान इस्लामाबाद एयरपोर्ट से भारतीय समय के अनुसार सुबह 7: 45 बजे उड़ान भरता है। उसे नई दिल्ली के इंदिरा गांधी अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डा (आई.जी.आई.ए.) पर भारतीय समय के अनुसार सुबह 9: 10 बजे उतरना था। विमान जैसे अपने निर्धारित रूट से भटकने लगता है, आई.जी.आई.ए. एयर ट्रैफिक कंट्रोल टावर में हड़कंप मच जाता है।

इस्लामाबाद के दौरे पर पी.एम. के साथ रक्षा मंत्री, विदेश मंत्री और एन.एस.ए. भी गए थे। उनकी गैरमौजूदगी में भारतीय वायु सेना के प्रमुख से बात करने के लिए सबसे उपयुक्त व्यक्ति कैबिनेट सचिव या रक्षा सचिव ही हो सकते थे। दोनों ने ही उनसे बात करने की कोशिश की लेकिन कोई बात नहीं हो पाई।

भारतीय समय के अनुसार सुबह 9: 45 बजे, युद्ध के लिए तैयार वेशभूषा में भारतीय सेना के जवान सेना के ट्रकों से नॉर्थ और साउथ ब्लॉक पहुँचने लगे। लुटियन की दिल्ली में फैले अन्य मंत्रालयों की इमारतों के बाहर भी जवान एकत्र हो रहे थे।

पाकिस्तान के समय अनुसार सुबह 9: 45 बजे, यानी नई दिल्ली में भारतीय जनरलों की प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस समाप्त होने के करीब पाँच घंटे बाद और भारत के पचास से ज्यादा शहरों की सड़कों पर लाखों लोगों के सड़कों पर प्रदर्शन शुरू होने के लगभग दो घंटे बाद, प्रधानमंत्री इरफान खान ने पाकिस्तान की राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा परिषद की एक बैठक की अध्यक्षता की और बैठक में आगे की काररवाई की योजना तैयार की।

but that part of Amit’s life only began 7 years later. When he did begin, he did not stop or even pause. He has completed 11 books in 26 months and is now working on his 12th.
