Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.

Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.

Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) (commonly referred to as Disney) is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. In addition, it has created new divisions of the company in order to market more mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-oriented brands.

The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 11 theme parks around the world. On January 23, 2006, it was announced that Disney would purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion. The deal was finalized on May 5. On December 31, 2009, Disney Company acquired the Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4.24 billion. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.

Disney Bunnies: A Day with Papa
This story is about Thumper from Babmi and his family, especially his father. Thumper is easily distracted and a bit forgetful, but fortunately his father is there to save the day.

Peter Pan: Nana & the Game of Hide-&-Seek
Nana is an exceptionally resourceful dog, playing games with the children and able to help find things to get them out of the locked attic at the end of the day. Anyone who tried to leave a dog in charge for real owuld end up in a lot of trouble and with a lot of issues for the attempt.

Coco: Pepita & Dante to the Rescue!
Having pets that can cross between the lands of the living and the dead comes in very handy when the Day of the Dead celebration is near and you need information to get everything just right for your family. Dante didn't seem to really take direction that well in the movie, though the pets were undeniable loyal and useful in their own ways.

The Aristocats: The Surprise Party
Duchess and the kittens have a few surprises planned for O'Malley's birthday. They're determined to make it the best one yet, and seem to have succeeded.

Mickey & Friends: A Surprise for Pluto
Everyone pitches in to make a tree house in Mickey's backyard, however, a tree house isn't usually very friendly to a dog. Minnie thought ahead however, so even Pluto has a way to join in with the new treetop fun.

The Lion King: A Prince's Day
It's hard to pay attention to long lessions as a cub when all Simba wants to do is play with Nala. Turns out he may be a bit of a natural, at least as far as being brave is concerned. For the rest, he has time to learn and some good advisors to keep him focused.

Up: Watch Dug
Dug is an interesting dog between the usual dog antics and his actual conversation thanks to his special collar. Dug is determined to be the best watchdog ever. There may be a few casualties when it comes to the breakfast menu, but he's still a pretty good dog.

101 Dalmatians: Fire Pup of the Day
Rolly and his siblings learn that there are many ways to be a hero when they want to be like Thunderbolt or the firefighters their parents teach them about. Their lessons come just in time to avoid a real fire as Nanny's apple pie starts to burn.

Winnie the Pooh: The Forgiving Friend
Even when meaning well, a friend can make a mistake and do something that maybe wouldn't be kind or right. Fortunately, Piglet's friends are very understanding and forgiving, even if it does seam to make Tigger hungry.

Lady & the Tramp: Barking up the Right Tree
It's not every dog that gets along with cats, but Lady and her friends are all concerned with a kitten gets spooked and lands in a tree. Well, all except Tramp, though he'll go along with pretty much anything to make Lady happy it seems. Though the kitten may be scared at first, it seems it takes a liking to the quartet of dogs.

Dumbo: Timothy's Big Day
Timothy is both excited and scared to see his parents again. Of course, right as they pull into town, Dumbo gets sick. How can he show his parents why he loves the circus if the circus can't perform that night?

Lilo & Stitch: Stitch's Day at School
It wouldn't be a day with Stitch without some unusual chaos and a new adventure. Stitch is curious to see all of the different pets when he gets to go to school with Lilo for pet's day.

Nothing brings out my inner child quite like a delivery from Disney Press that features some of my favorite furry characters. Back in my youth, I was a really big fan of the Aristocats, 101 Dalmatians, Lilo & Stitch, and pretty much any Disney movie that featured feline or canine protagonists. So, consider my inner child delighted to find two new Disney books in my mailbox a few weeks ago. READ MORE: https://yourmoneygeek.com/review-5-mi...

5-Minute Disney Furry Friends Stories would have been at the top of my reading list as a child and they are sure to spark joy with today’s generation of animal-loving Disney kids.

In 5-Minute Disney Furry Friends Stories readers will enjoy over 200 pages of “5-minute stories” written by familiar Disney storytellers like Brooke Vitale, John Edwards, Megan Bryant, and nine other beloved authors. The stories range from more recent tales featuring Doug from Up and Pepita from Coco, to stories from a long time ago like the Aristocats, Dumbo, and Peter Pan.

The stories in the 5-Minute Disney book are designed to be short stories that can be read to children or used to help them learn to read independently. The book is bound with a padded cover, which makes it easy to hold onto for little hands (and old ones alike!).

The cover also has textured details which are perfect for children who respond well to tactical sensations. The book features a combination of full-page, spot, and half-page illustrations, all with details so vivid they could be screencaps taken straight out of their films.

Disney Press is on a roll this year with joyful children’s books that feature some of the most beloved and classic characters. 5-Minute Disney Furry Friends Stories is the perfect for those of us wishing to share our own favorite characters with the children in our lives. And I won’t tell anyone if you turned the page to the side to help Patch pour out those puppies.

5-Minute Disney Furry Friends Stories was written for readers from Kindergarten to Third Grade.

Thank you to Disney for providing ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Disney’s second major spring release is the 5-Minute Furry Friends Stories! 5-Minute stories are great options for those looking for stories to read before bedtime. This particular version has twelve stories all featuring Disney and Pixar characters. Surprisingly included characters from classic Disney movies like “Dumbo”, “Bambi” and “The Aristocrats.” In Nana and the Game of Hide-and-Seek, the Darling children (Peter Pan) are home alone and Wendy decides to have the children play hide and seek. Michael and their dog Nana hide in the attic and get locked in! They put their heads together and make a plan to get out.

My personal favorite story is Pepita and Dante to the Rescue which features characters from Pixar’s “Coco”. Pepita and Dante travel to the Land of the Dead to carry a message to Miguel’s Uncle Hector. I love this story because it stays so true to the movie with Miguel’s Abuelita cooking dinner and Miguel’s Aunt Imelda and Uncle Hector singing together in the Land of the Dead.

In A Surprise for Pluto, Mickey Mouse and his friends work on a surprise tree house for Mickey’s beloved dog. In A Prince’s Day Simba stumbles upon Nala in need of help and he takes it upon himself to save her.

The illustrations in 5-Minute Furry Friends are colorful and the characters look exactly like how they do in the movies. Because this book is for kindergartners, the book cover is padded. The stories feature paragraphs that are broken up by illustrations and I’d say some of the stories are longer than 5 minutes but not by much.

This collected story book features twelve previously published short picture book stories about popular Disney characters. The stories are tie ins to the movie so they are not necessarily involved in the plots of the original movie.

The concept of having a book that has a variety of stories is a good one and Disney has other books like this one on the market. It would make a good gift for Disney fans and the children might like to have one story read at bedtime, etc. The artwork for each story matches the style of the origin animation which will help pre-readers find their favorite characters quickly. Children who are reading on their own might like this as well as they can work through the stories at their own pace.

I would recommend this book for purchase by any school or public library setting who have need for popular character books.

Another book of Disney stories that my dad got for Lily.

I'm not sure I liked this one even as much as the 5-Minute Disney Classic Stories. Two of the stories overlap--the one from The Lion King and one from the Lady and the Tramp universe.

It's still a fun thing to read with Lily, though, so what they hey, I'll give it the three stars.

Up is one of my favorite Pixar movies, so I enjoyed the story with those characters.

What a fun series that I didn't know existed! Each of these books have a half dozen or so stories that can be told in 5 minutes. Great for bedtime! All of the stories are based on Disney characters, old and new. I couldn't believe our library doesn't have a single one! We will definitely be purchasing several. Highly recommend for your home library if you have kids (especially those who won't let you stop reading until you've finished the story!).

“The Surprise Party” by Victoria Saxon
Cute Aristocats story in which it’s Thomas O’Malley’s birthday, and Duchess and the kittens throw him a party. Also Madame shows up and apparently speaks cat or somehow can communicate and understand them. Thomas honestly wants to leave most of the time to hang out with his boys which is kind of sketchy. IDK, 3/5.

“Watch Dug” by Jennifer Arena
This one was SO CUTE it was about Carl and Russell going on a camping trip with Dug. They hear a noise and so Dug decides to stay up all night to stand guard against the animal. Ended with a cute sunset scene. 4/5

“Fire Pup of the Day” by Courtney Carbone
Rolly wants to be a firedog because of an episode of Thunderbolt! He and Penny and Patch end up competing in a firedog competition and he loses :( but he has the chance to become a real hero when he sees smoke in the kitchen! Rolly saves the day, and we see that courage > being the fastest. 4/5

“Stitch’s Day at School” by John Edwards
Lily takes Stitch to Pet Day at school and of course, Stitch gets into hijinks as he chases after the class frog Mr. Phibbs. He comes back just in time to be presented to the class. Cute story and loved Nani! 3/5
