One of the best Minecraft books in the series. Highly recommended. The characters are relatable, funny, and the storyline is so very good. I can't wait for the sequel in March 2022.

This is a great story about friendship, and finding your place in the world when no one believes in what you say. A really fun adventure in the Minecraft world, and great characters that grow so much by the end! The person behind it all felt like a Scooby Doo sort of ending, but the rest was a good time!

The Mob Squad was one of the best Minecraft books I’ve ever read, and that’s saying a lot. It was masterfully crafted and perfectly written. It had just the right amount of humor, emotion, and moral lessons. It is about learning where you belong, what you were made for and finding the friends that will help you reach your potential. Thank you, Delilah Dawson!

My son and I both loved this book. (I read one or two chapters a night to him before bed.) It's my favorite of the Minecraft middle grade novels.

I was always a bit hesitant about this book. Minecraft: Mob Squad never really appealed to me. I’m not exactly sure why. Was it the title? Or maybe the cover? But since I’m currently listening to all the Minecraft books, I eventually decided to give this one a try. And I absolutely have no regrets. In fact, this is one of the best Minecraft books out there right now. It definitely ranks in my top three.
The story is refreshingly different from the typical Minecraft tale. Of course, it’s still written for a younger audience, so you shouldn’t expect anything too intense, but it’s fun, never boring, and doesn’t drag at any point. There are enough plot twists to keep things engaging. And the fact that the story is told from the perspective of all four main characters is a real bonus. The last few chapters are incredibly strong!
Now, about the audiobook. What an amazing production! Each character has a different voice actor, and they’ve nailed the casting perfectly. They use the familiar Minecraft audiobook sounds, but also introduce new music. The final chapters have beautiful background tracks that really pull you into the story. At the moment, this is the best Minecraft audiobook you can find. The story is already great, but the audio version takes it to the next level.
Definitely a must-read — or even better, a must-listen — for any Minecraft fan. I’m really looking forward to the other two books in this series.

Ok, this book might be the BEST Minecraft book there is (and I've read a lot... soo...)
Mob Squad is amazing!!! After reading it through the first time, I actually bought it myself (which is not something I do often) so I wouldn't have to keep checking it out from the library every time I wanted to read it...
The friendships in this book are beautiful! They're very close and almost sibling-like!
The story is written in first person and present tense and its written very well! Each character has a unique voice!
The Characters (Hopefully No Spoilers)
I'm pretty sure Lenna (one of the MCs) is autistic (and if she is, it's really good autism representation!!!)! She's the dreamer of the group and is super sweet. (She is bullied or called names at times though, not by her friends).
Chug and Tok are brothers and their relationship is hilarious. Chug is protective of Tok and Tok likes inventing things.
Mal is the (natural) leader of the group and her grandma helps her and her friends go on their adventure!
You don't have to know a thing about Minecraft or the Minecraft world because the MCs are discovering it right along with you!

The story about Minecraft mob squad is there four friends , Each one has his own personality, they lives in town called Cornucopia and the town have a big wall around the entire town, one day in the town the four friends have seen a weird problem inside the town maybe that can destroy their own town and no one believe them , what they can do , what’s adventure and dangerous that could be outside the wall.
My opinion about the book, the entire journey, it was exited by the aether, some activity with each character in the adventure, and the friendship, how was before go outside and after they became , Unfortunately there no pictures or drawings in the book, l have to mention you can read to learn more English and gets a lot of vocabulary . that’s not first time l read Minecraft books and l hoop not the last.

I bought my son, who is OBSESSED with Minecraft, all 15 of the Mojang official novels for his birthday, and we have been reading them together. The Mob Squad books are by far the best books in the collection.
They may be for middle readers, but even as an adult, I find myself excited to find out what happens next. The prose is accessible but still has some great vocabulary words for early readers, and the Bad Apples are all very loveable. Lenna is my favorite!

This is a great book and well written. It kept my third grader that does not like to read enthralled with the story. He is ready for the next Minecraft book and asks to read it every night or whenever we are reading a book.
He enjoyed all the kids from the village and each of the characters the kids would encounter. He was able to determine what character the kids would meet by brief descriptions as the villagers were getting ready to meet have a run in with a creeper or witch or what not.

I loved this book! I felt the suspense and I loved all the characters. I've read some Minecraft books (mostly unofficial ones) and this might just be the best one in my collection. When I finished reading this, I was left wanting more but unfortunately I can't find the other books in the local bookstores :(

I read this to my son and he loved it. It’s a great bedtime chapter book with great characters and exciting twists and turns. It also had just enough subtle (and many not so subtle) Easter eggs that he would excitedly shout things out when he heard about something in game he knew. A fun book to share with any Minecraft lover.

4.5. This was a really good book. I got very invested in the story (even in the plot twist). My only complaint is that they keep changing narrators, which made things a little confusing. I really enjoyed this book overall.

This one started a little slow for me, much like The Island, as it spends a lot of time explaining the rules of the world. However I liked the characters and the story was one of safety vs curiosity, risk vs reward. I expect the next one will also be enjoyable.

Holy moly. This book lifted me off my feet and the Holy Spirit himself has claimed me. This was some top tier stuff and I would one hundred percent read the whole thing again. Best book I’ve ever read.

Meine Meinung:
Die anderen Bände der Reihe kennen wir nicht. Als Quereinsteiger hatten wir aber keine Probleme, da die Minecraft-Welt bereits bekannt ist.
Anscheinend sind auch die Bücher der Reihe in sich abgeschlossen. Da die vier Protagonisten sehr unwissend sind und auf Entdeckungsreise gehen, kommt man als Neuling ebenfalls gut zurecht.
Trotzdem hätten wir uns zu Beginn eine kurze Vorstellungsrunde (Illustration, Steckbrief der Kinder) gewünscht sowie ein paar Zeichnungen wichtiger Monster (evtl. am Ende, um nicht zu spoilern).
Die vier Freunde sind charakterlich sehr verschieden, ergänzen sich aber gut.
Abwechselnd schildert jeder die Ereignisse aus seiner Sicht, so dass Lesende schnell Teil ihrer Gedanken- und Gefühlswelt werden.
Mal ist hilfsbereit und herzensgut.
Ihre beste Freundin Lenna ist das jüngste von zehn Kindern, fliegt in ihrer Familie regelmäßig unter dem Radar und wird oft unterschätzt.
Chug und Tok sind zwar Brüder, aber unterschiedlich wie Tag und Nacht. Tok ist wissbegierig und clever, während Chuck eher als Mann für's Grobe durchgeht.
Mals Ururgroßmutter - eine rüstige, unkonventionelle und durchaus bemerkenswerte alte Dame - ist die einzige Dorfbewohnerin, die an die Kinder glaubt.
Jeder andere in der Stadt nennt sie schwarze Schafe und Taugenichtse. Doch außerhalb der schützenden Stadtmauern und mittendrin im gefährlichen Abenteuer beweisen die Kinder Mut und Köpfchen.
Es ist wunderbar mitzuerleben, wie sich die vier Außenseiter (dank Tipps und Tricks von Mals pfiffiger Ururgroßmutter) zu wahren Helden entwickeln: Erfinder, Handwerker, Bogenschützen, Krieger ...
"Wir sind weder schwarze Schafe noch Außenseiter, und wir führen kein gemütliches Leben hinter hohen Mauern. Wir sind vier Kinder in einer Hexenhutte mitten in einem Sumpf, die sich vor Lachen ausschütten und kurz davor stehen, zu einem Waldanwesen voller gefährlicher Monster aufzubrechen, um ihre Heimat zu retten.
Für einen kurzen, unbeschwerten Moment fühlen wir uns, als könnten wir gemeinsam alles erreichen. So als wäre es ganz leicht. [...]

Zum Schluss überschlagen sich die Ereignisse regelrecht und das Happy End überrumpelt ein wenig.
Da die Kapitel vergleichsweise lang sind, schließe ich mich der Alterseinstufung des Verlages an: selbstständig lesen ab 12 Jahre. Zum Vorlesen eignet sich das Abenteuer aber auch schon ab etwa 9 Jahre.

… PACKEND, FANTASIEREICH & VOLLER ZUSAMMENHALT...
Minecraft gehört seit Beginn den Einzug in unserem zu Hause zu den Favoriten, so komplex und kreativ. Perfekt um die Fantasie anzukurbeln und einen in die Welt der viel Möglichkeiten zu entführen.
Insbesondere jetzt auch die Möglichkeit zur Lektüre rund um diese Welt zu greifen.
Ich konnte sofort voller Begeisterung zu dem Buch greifen, wurde in eine packende als auch fantasiereiche Geschichte gezogen.
Hierbei wird es auch noch durch den Zusammenhalt und den Eifer, sich beweisen zu können, gesteigert. Man bekommt verschiedene Persönlichkeiten geboten, sodass für jedermann ein Favorit breite steht. Diese wollen sich beweisen, eine Einheit darstellen und wachen einen viel zu schnell ans Herz.
Man fliegt dadurch nur so durch die Seiten und fiebert einen guten Ausgang mit.
Dieses Werk bereitet nicht nur Kindern, sondern auch älteren Generationen Lesevergnügen.
Eine definitive Herzensempfehlung für Jung und Alt. Nicht zu vergessen der pädagogische Anteil dabei, dass das Buch eine perfekte Motivation für junge Leser ist, ihre Liebe zum Spiel auch zwischen den Seiten zu finden.
Ich habe es in einem Rutsch verschlungen, bleibe begeistert und mit Vorfreude auf mehr aus der Welt von Minecraft zurück.

Junior (13) hat schon einige Minecraft Bücher gelesen und findet, dass das hier deutlich zu den Besten gehört. Er kennt sich gut in der MC Welt aus und meint, dass sich die Autorin einiges für die Kenner hat einfallen lassen. Auch ich als Neuling bin auf meine Kosten gekommen. Da die Kinder das erste Mal ihr Dorf verlassen, haben sie auch nur wenig Ahnung von der Welt und viele Gestalten, die auftauchen, werden erklärt. Die Geschichte ist in sich abgeschlossen und lässt sich gut als Einzelband lesen, wobei ich gerade gesehen habe, dass es einen weiteren Band rund um die bunte Truppe geben wird. Wir fanden die Handlung sehr witzig und haben öfters schmunzeln müssen. Gerade die Tierchen und natürlich die mega coole Omi sind uns ans Herz gewachsen. Die direkte Ansprache des Lesers hat uns gefallen und so kann man wunderbar in das Abenteuer eintauchen. Die Kinder entwickeln sich weiter, halten zusammen und finden ihre Bestimmungen. Ein paar Sätze sind mir positiv aufgefallen und ich fand sie wertvoll. Somit eine klare Leseempfehlung von uns für dieses spannende und witzige Minecraft-Abenteuer.

Eine Gruppe aus vier Kindern beobachtet merkwürdige Vorkommnisse in ihrem Dorf und bricht zu einem Abenteuer auf.
Das Buch ist sehr schön und kindgerecht geschrieben, auch die Thematik um Freundschaft und Gruppendynamik fand ich sehr schön eingebaut.
Man braucht Minecraft nicht unbedingt zu kennen, aber ich glaube man hat doch mehr Spaß beim Lesen, wenn man zumindest irgendwann mal ein bisschen gespielt hat. Da die Charaktere anfangs selbst noch relativ unwissend sind, findet man aber auch ohne Vorwissen in die Geschichte. Die anderen Bände der Reihe braucht man auch nicht zu kennen, das Buch ist in sich abgeschlossen.
Die Geschichte ist natürlich nicht total unvorhersehbar, aber für ein Kinderbuch finde ich das in Ordnung.
Mir hat das Buch gut gefallen und ich habe direkt wieder Lust bekommen Minecraft zu spielen.

This book was laugh out loud hilarious. I loved every second of it. I think my favorite character is probably Chug, cause all my favorite quotes are from him. Here they are below.
I've never particularly liked baths, and rain just feels like constantly having a bath against your will.- Chug

When I opened this book, I thought it was going to be about mobs. Not people.
