3.5 read until episode 120 Not so easy to rate because the story doesn't always seem to know which kind of story it wants to be. At its surface it's one of those real life RPG manhwa where the world and especially South Korea has to deal with the appearance of portals leading to different dimensions full of monsters and the awakening of humans being able to fight those monsters and close the so called dungeons. At the start it seems to be one of those manhwa that takes the genre serious and showing the effect such a change can cause by example of 2 brothers. After the death of their parents Yoojin is setting back his own life and possible carrier to take care and raise his younger brother Yoohyun. Unfortunately the changing world is also changing their dynamics because suddenly the younger one is one of the strongest awakened of Korea and even become a powerful guild master while Yoojin has to undergo a forced awakening which only places him into the lowest rank. To say that this puts a strain to their relationship is an understatement and eventually Yoohyun is cutting their connection completely. Of course not everything is as it seems to be and that's becoming clear during the fight against a boss monster where Yoojin is supposed to die but instead the story changes traction and he's thrown back in time and someone is granting him strange skills.
Now the seriousness leaves the room and makes place for cuteness and fun. I enjoyed this change and seeing him taming monster pups like a fire manticore or a fluffy gryphon or suddenly taking care of strong S-class players while still staying a lowly F-class. There are some hilarious situations and OTT characters but at that time it was still a nice and welcomed escape when other stories got a bit heavy or emotional. At first it didn't change much when the next twist added a tale about the world ending and 2 groups of other-worldly beings fighting to either avoid or force it but over time the different story arcs drifted apart, the focus got lost and situations that would be hilarious before became slightly cringy. Hope it soon gets back on track because I still like it with its unique view on an RPG story, wouldn't mind to explore the evolving strange bromance, definitely need more of those monster pups and I'm still curious about the solution the the brother issue.
This is not finished yet (shocking) but I’m up to date so I’ll just put it as read.
This manhwa was well… I have mixed feelings I guess. The premise of it is really cool and I loved the universe because it’s a lot like Solo Leveling. The problem I have with this is that it’s too OTT like everyone are protective of our main character and they are fighting over him as if he were a toy. It’s a bit cringe but I can look aside it.
It’s still very entertaining so I would somewhat recommend it.
A really entertaining opening, wherein the main character is basically the ultimate support class who is able to bond with and super charge the training and effectiveness of others. The only downside, is his personal abilities are basically completely normal, and no one can find out that he's training them or how his skill works. It makes for extremely entertaining situations with delightful word play and plenty of comedy intermixed with action, while the main character builds up a super team of the most powerful humans in existence which he basically treats as his children.
Unfortunately the novel deviates from its initial premise after a while and turns into a weird homoerotic flirt fest between the main character and some other dude who wants to use him as an item for his abilities. This dynamic is ok, but not nearly as fun as the initial comedy as he gathered super powered humans as his faux children. Not sure why the initial premise was abandoned but I eventually burnt out 148 chapters in, after he hadn't used his abilities in ages and the novel had lost a lot of its initial charm.
The beginning was poignant and wonderful - two brothers sacrificing themselves for each other after years of misunderstandings; The older brother risking to go back into time to save his brother. Very Shakespearan, really, and I adored the familial aspect and I thought the novel was really going to delve more into that but it didn't.
Where 'The S Class I Raised' really shines through is its comedy and humour - the protagonist doesn't take himself too seriously even though Han Yujin (or Yoojin, depending which version you read) is a very clever protagonist.
It's not romance-focused, per se and I say that specifically because this is not a romance novel but there are still bits of bl inserted in there.
I could also argue that this is a harem novel that's not a harem novel because all the side characters lose their personality with how much they cling and stick to the main character. There's just no funny business going on, y'know.
I enjoyed reading this but my interest waned through the latter part of the novel. If you asked me at the start of this book, I would have said 4-5 stars but now it's more 2-3 stars.
I don’t really read webtoon and the genre itself isn’t my thing but this one looks different lol Following our mc as he builds a team full of super human, I do think the story lost its direction a few times but I could look aside for the art style and the fact that it is still very entertaining to read.
Note: the manhwa is actually not finished yet but I’ll still mark it as ’read’ since I will keep following the series until it comes to end.
I enjoy this story so much! An F-Class hunter rising through the ranks but still remaining an F? It's a nice change of pace from reading through other overpowered MCs.
So, the real question here is, do the boyfriends get together or what? The sexual chemistry is palpable, and I am glad the Webtoon commentors think the same.
It’s been a long time since I finished a novel this long (900+ chapters including side stories), and not only that—gave it 5 stars. But this one deserves it.
What started as a simple read turned into something much more as I kept going. At its core, this story is about Han Yoojin’s journey toward expressing love—and how, by doing so, he can change…. or even save the world. I was devastated when I found out the reason his keyword for applying the Caregiver skill was because he had never uttered the word “love,” and only managed to say it when it was too late. (If you know, you know.) That hit me hard, because I, too, find it incredibly difficult to express that emotion.
I believe the author deliberately chose regression as a plot device for a reason: sometimes, we’re haunted by endless what-ifs, like, what if I had done that? What if I had told him I loved him? What if I hadn’t let my little brother go? But unlike our Yoojin, most of us don’t get the chance to go back and make things right. That’s what makes his journey so powerful: he gets that second chance but is still haunted by his past (especially in the later part of the story), and it hurts in all the ways we wish we could heal.
To live without regrets is to live with love. That’s what this story taught me.
I know this review doesn’t dive into the plot or characters in detail, but after finishing the entire thing, this is the reflection that stuck with me—and the only review that feels right to give.
P.S. in case some of you wants to know where an international reader like me read this, it’s on Naver and other sites. You will need translation tool but trust me it’s worth it and not that difficult to understand.
you don't get it. they're so sillay. i love complicated siblings relationships. i love found family. i love the apocalypse. i loved doomed sibling time loops. i love when a character loves an inhuman creature so much that it changes the creature's destructive nature not because they're expected to chnage but because they want to, for the person who chose to love them. and this webcomic does this 5+ times over.
also this webcomic is the funniest thing ever. why is hyuna alien stage a main character. why is baby brother and adopted daughter friendship goals but also they would kill each other for big brother/dad's attention. why are there five billion baby animals. and most importantly why is 25/30 year old mc in a argumentative yaoi situationship with 38/43 year old amoral blond ceo. and why have i found i actually do enjoy age gap relationships when it's done right and ethically (though...toxic yaoi is real).
oh also. why was there technically mpreg but it's not mpreg so it's ok. like why am i ok w that. i dunno the webcomic was too good so i let it slide
(The manhwa is still updating) YES. I love this series so much! It's the perfect mix of, sad and funny. I absolutely ADORE the meme references and the silly faces Yoojin makes. Lol. I truly hope he achieves his dream and kicks the disaster right where the sun don't shine. And that tourist guy too, he's a fucking weirdo, like damn leave Yoojin alone. I mean, technically everyone on his side is obsessed with him? But in the "you remind me of my (insert parental guardian here), I will take care of you". If you ever come across people like this in real like, run away, kick, scream, bite if you have to. Unless you're also a weirdo like Yoojin and just dives right into the mass of S-class maniacs. Let's be real though, you would probably pass out from fear. Anyway, 10/10 I love this!
1.4.23 Interesting enough. But time warping is never a good thing, and I have yet to see how it turned out for the mc here. The little brother seems psychotic though, and the way he changed so much just because mc said he loves him out of the blue-
I don't know man it's suspicious. Currently reading the manga.
An entertaining and comfort read! Definitely my top -choice for when I'd like to flop down on the couch and read a witty and humorous novel ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻) I do enjoy the premise, and find the relationship between Yoojin and Yoohyun pulling at my heartstrings, a constant reminder to value and cherish your family more! I love reads like such, which are so very silly with deep meanings (๑>•̀๑)
This story makes me happy!!! >_< it's so funny Deberia ponerle 3 estrellas pero a quien voy a engañar me encanta 💖 Apenas estoy leyendo la novela y con el manhwa voy al corriente... Historia Chicle pero con un gran arte, buenos personajes y que además te haga reír... PD. Saranghee Paz!!!
i do not have average feelings about this novel, so i will not attempt to put it into words at all.... just know that the novels i rate 5* can be counted on one hand for now.
also, han yoohyun is the only character ever to exist in the history of existing, by the way. just so you know.
I read what there is of the manhwa. Really enjoyed it. Gay vibes are 10/10. Cute animals are 10/10. OP protag who wants to save the world by sacrificing himself repeatedly is 10/10.
If I gotta be honest I started it because it reminded me of solo leveling but it turned out to be an amazing and addictive story that I just could not put down
