Of course, the title of this book is preposterous. Perhaps one can learn the syntax in one day. But to learn Java well, one would also need to understand all the libraries (not to mention all the relevant data structures and algorithms). Nevertheless, I found this to be one of the best Java tutorial textbooks--hence my five stars. Of course, that means I've read several other Java tutorials and am not a raw beginner. So I found it useful as a refresher tutorial. But to find out whether the book can come close to delivering what the title promises, you would have to ask a raw beginner. I suspect that he/she would be less impressed than I was.
Great guide to learning Java. The sequence provided from chapter to chapter builds nicely for learning the concepts. A must have in your library if you are new to Java.
I’ve been a developer and architect for twenty-five years. Needed a decent and quick introduction to Java for a university study. True to its title, I finished the book in 24 hours and it was well written and had a good flow. Earlier examples were expanded upon quite logically which is rare for Kindle Unlimited books.
A very QUICK book that effectively summarizes the language. This book is part of a series, and if they’re alike, it seems like the value add is if you are already familiar with programming and looking to discover the nuances of a new unfamiliar language.
Perfect book for someone with no to little coding experience. I can truly credit this book for teaching me the very basics of JAVA. It is a very good start and it will beckon you to search for documentation and practice along. Highly recommend !
Like the comprehensive approach and the clear understandable language Recommend for a first step into java programming for those who are into this field
I wanted to review my Java basics, but including the basics of advanced topics such as inheritance and polymorphism, for an interview. I haven't worked with Java in 3 years. This was such a life saver!
This book is good for people who have knowledge of some other programming languages like C++, and C#. This book provides a bird-eye view of the entire Java language. The book is great for people who have some experience of Java and want to review Java. This book has 12 Chapters and the 12th Chapter is dedicated to Java Console Project which includes File Handling. Just buy the book, you won't regret it.
