When a famous author has agreed to teach you, is it wrong to fantasise about it becoming more than just teacher/student?
This is a super hot Age Gap, Butch-Femme, Teacher/Student Romance. It is Book 3 in the Celesbian Series but you can read it as a standalone romance. This book contains light BDSM scenes.
Rosa Martinez is a young writer who is determined to become a great author. Her plan involves getting her idol, the famous reclusive guarded author Max Moore to tutor her.
Max eventually agrees to an arrangement where Rosa works in Max's office in exchange for learning from the great Max Moore.
Rosa can't stop fantasising about Max's dominance and assertive nature. She likes it when Max is hard on her.
Can Rosa find a way to make this more than just a teacher/student arrangement?
I have to say what good book. I sat and read in one sitting. I know most can read faster than I can, but I savored and reread those steamy scenes with Rosa and Max. I also liked how Max stood up for Rosa in her time of need and Rosa helping Max emotionally. It's really worth the read.
4 stars. This was such a great and extremely sexy read. I adored the characters but Max in particular really did it for me. She was so mean and cold in the beginning which already made me swoon but then to watch her fall for Rosa and the way that she was so protective over her. Also, she calls her ‘good girl’ six times and yes I counted because I melted every single time. *swoon* The romance and chemistry between them was fantastic and that epilogue was so stinkin’ adorable. I really enjoyed this from beginning to end and I can definitely see myself re-reading it.
No way, ever, ever, ever would any editor worth their salt ask anyone to REWRITE someone else’s work - aside from the material being copyright protected, it is morally and ethically wrong.
That an author made this the focal point of her own story is alarming. How would Hayes feel if I decided to rewrite her CEO series? At least then it wouldn’t contain the errors it does.
I am more appalled by this than anything else and am not certain I will continue respecting Hayes as a writer.
Emily Hayes has written a heart wrenching, hot, oh so hot, love story. It is full of desire for Rosa to achieve her goal of first meeting and then of writing the love story she knows is trying to get out of her. She needs Max to guide her and my oh my does she ever! Max needs love but is fighting against that need by seeking sexual release with strangers. Yeah, the chemistry breakers everything wide open. This is a “You have got to read this kinda book”.
I love love love this and it's also the first book with fisting in it that I've read. So while it was jaw dropping. I loved it still.
Oh, my imaginations have been stretched 🫠😵💫5/fucking 5 A perfect 5 star I tell you.
I'm just so single😩😂 But this was so beautiful and the fact that I know someone who could be the Max to my Rosa. Except they are unattainable or just not into girls? 😭
This was a fairly decent read. I enjoyed the plot and how the author made an effort to actually develop the main characters along with a backstory for both of them. There was a decent amount of spice. I do think the book could have been much better had the author taken the time to go back and add more depth to the storyline. Particularly near the end which felt rushed. Overall it was a decent short story that kept me wanting to continue reading.
I seem to be in the minority, but this one really didn’t work for me. It took days to finish what should have been a quick read, largely because I found both main characters deeply unlikable. The power dynamic felt clumsy rather than compelling, and the glimpses into the publishing world were distracting and often questionable—especially the casual treatment of unethical professional behavior. Overall, this felt more frustrating than fun, and I struggled to stay engaged.
This story was filled with some drama. The characters were very entertaining and well defined as well as enjoyable. Max and Rosa were quite at odds during most of the story but the storyline was consistent and made for easy and comfortable reading. The sex scenes were inflammable and very explicit. Overall this book was a great read and should be enjoyed by others.
Rosa Martinez is a want a be writer with crush on author and publisher Max Moore. Working as a waitress she barely makes ends meet as she writes. When she learns where Max lives, Rosa shows up at her door and begs for Max to be her mentor. An age-gap romance with strong women and two wonderful dogs. Love the author.
This was cute but extremely surface level. There really wasn’t much to their relationship and then all of a sudden they’re saying “I love you”. Lack of character arch and plot really stifled what could have been great about this book. I wanted more I wanted it to be deeper. Idk just wasn’t it for me.
An aspiring author gets an opportunity to be mentored by a famous author who is also her idol. This is a quick age-gap butch/femme romance with hot adult situations. The age gap is 28 & 45 so the younger one isn’t ridiculously young for anyone that’s curious about that before diving in.
Waited for this to arrive, and was not disappointed. Then tension builds as Max tries to deny the electricity between her and her more than willing student Rosa and what follows is off the charts hot.Enjoy !!!!!!
I started reading it and couldn’t put it down. Well written, love the story and the characters. Also love that the author incorporated previous characters. Amazing, love it.
I loved it. I really think it’s one of your best ones. But I would love to read more about Max and Rosa! I could not get enough of them. Loved the steaming sex scenes. I would have loved to read more about the kinky boss fantasy Rosa had.
Nothing earth shattering, just a nice story. Rosa is a sweet, somewhat innocent young woman, hoping to become a published author. She lucks into meeting someone who can definitely help that to happen.
It was a solid story with likeable characters. I have read several books by this author and she tells interesting stories but to me, this one did not hold my attention like the previous ones have.
Wow another amazing storyline I loved the main characters chemistry and their journey to be together was incredibly written every time I read a new book by Emily Hayes I know it's going to be on my top five must read again congratulations.
From being rejected to being lived by the person you’d always looked up to needing to heal the hurt from the past and build a future together loved it🌈🌹
Not usually a butch-femme reader, but I liked the sweet story and the theme of everyone having problems in their lives, but the real life is coming back from those problems stronger and not letting them kill you slowly was a nice, subtle part to the story. Especially for Max.
