Megan Lowe is a lost journalism graduate who heard characters whisper stories to her and decided to write them down. She is based on the Gold Coast but her heart belongs to New York City. She writes new adult/ contemporary romance novels with sports and music themes.
"You want to know what I think?” he asks. “I think you’re a good guy who’s been told he’s a bad guy because it isn’t who people need, want, or expect him to be."
It continues the angsty, steamy 🔥🔥 story of Connor and Cavanugh, this time told from Cav's perspective.
I loved the push and pull of the boys' burgeoning relationship whilst Cav struggled with his sexuality, his family's expectations, his tragic past and his present day persona as the straight, bad boy of the school. A lot of these issues will be triggers for some (note: suicide is discussed) and put-offs for others.
Despite some of the repetitious themes and writing, this series is still a winner for me. I'm a total sucker for an angsty m/m with a HEA 😍.
I feel like the author stuck to each character's personality only till the first book. Cause I swear Cav seems like a totally different person. Also the plot got a lot confusing at the ending of the first book and while it got cleared here the plot got boring.
this duology is the book version of that guy from We are the Millers that has “no ragrets” tattooed on his chest. A true KU romance. Am I mad I read it?? Hell no. Am I still very confused about the plot?? Yeah absolutely.
I loved this book TOO MUCH from start to finish! I really liked that it started exactly where Good Boy left off and I think this time Megan Lowe delivers an even more moving story, which breaks the heart at times, but heals it in others with Connor, Cav, Chloe & Jase, it was without a doubt one of the best romance mm I have read and one that I will recommend whenever I can.
This time the story is told from Cavanaugh's point of view, which I loved, because it was so much easier for me to understand his behavior, actions, decisions, fears and insecurities, in addition, I think that thanks to this I can appreciate the complexity of her character and the situation in which he lives. In Bad Boy we confirm that Cav is a lost boy, abandoned and neglected by his family, who struggles to accept who he really is and against the fear of letting others see him as he is, someone who does the best he can to survive, but what I liked the most was reading a brave Cavanaugh, willing to face anyone to live the life he deserves, facing his fears and trusting Chloe, Connor & Jase, and his friendship with the first was a huge and pleasant surprise, something completely unexpected that I enjoyed very much. But Cav does not stop being the reckless bad boy, and who doesn’t hesitate to intimidate anyone to get what he wants, so his character is the same in some way.
In Bad Bo Connor was a character who also grew a lot, he faces new challenges at home with his sister and the huge disaster that is his "relationship" with Thomas, because Con realizes the bad decision he made and is willing to correct his mistakes. But the best part was reading a more mature, understanding, and supportive Connor for Cav every step of the way. Connor also remains the more open, fun and flirtatious of the two, the loving and protective brother that Jase needs and the best friend of Chloe
I loved every moment of Connor & Cavanaugh's relationship in this book, while in Good Boy I read how it all starts, their resistance to solving their problems and Cav’s fears, in Bad Boy Megan Lowe gave me one of the cutest relationships I have ever read, with Cav being super caring, cuddly, lovable and loving with Connor every chance he gets, showing his love through his constant worry after the accident and being the nicest bad boy in the world, the cutest thing of all is that Connor behaves exactly the same, only his worries for Cav are directed at his family situation and acceptance of their sexuality. These two are super cute, they go through a lot of trouble and drama, but their story is so worth it.
And to finish, Chloe was a character that won my heart even more by being the only support Cav had before, the person he could trust and the funniest friend, obviously Jase was not far behind, he was a super cute character with his concern for Connor & Cav, his desire to take care of his brother and the wisdom that characterized him in the first book.

While picking up right where the previous book in this duet left off, things turn even more emotional here as readers get deeper insight into the characters. In the previous book Cavanugh seemed like a stereotype but in this book we get to see a more fleshed-out character. The reasons why Cavanugh does what he does, acts the way he does, are clearer here and I found myself liking him more and finding him to be a stronger person this time around. That's not to say that he won't do what needs to be done to skew things his way, but the reasoning behind it doesn't bother me as much throughout this story as it did before. Other characters too showed themselves to be stronger as this story progressed. One of them, Connor, has finally come to the truth regarding Thomas and I was proud of him for making things right. The maturity of these two showed through in a romance that felt more realistic, more rich, as seen through interactions that were more loving, caring, and supportive. They were a formidable pairing, one that I was rooting for every step of the way. Their togetherness made my heart sing....when it wasn't pulling at my heartstrings that is....in a fun and flirty romance full of heart and soul.
Along with this captivating main couple were the equally appealing secondary characters of Chloe and Jase, friends and family members who are the glue holding these two young men together (both as a couple and separately). Both of these characters are kind and loving with Chloe being there for Cavanugh from the very beginning to Jase who was unwaveringly supportive of his brother Connor from the start and was a young man wise beyond his years. On a whole this was a story full of angst, a story of accepting the person you are inside, while accepting love from whoever wraps you in its warm embrace. After each turn of the page, and a story that pushed all my emotional buttons, readers are rewarded with a flawless epilogue that tied up all that came before beautifully. When it comes to an unforgettable m/m romance, Ms. Lowe has placed herself on a pedestal with this captivating tale that fans of this genre will be recommending for years to come.
After the cliffhanger at the end of book 1, I was more than ready to dive back into Connor and Cavanaugh’s story. Book 1 was told from Connor’s POV and I was so happy to see that book 2 was going to be told from Cavanaugh’s POV. So many of his actions in the first part of this story were confusing and I loved having the opportunity to see what was going on in his head.
While Good Boy was full of confusing decisions and tons of angst, Bad Boy was full of emotional exchanges and finally honesty between Connor and Cavanaugh (and others). Both guys grew up throughout this duet, but Cav’s character growth and acceptance was so great to read. Connor believed in him all along, knowing he wasn’t just the bad guy everyone thought he was, and Cav finally started to see that for himself.
The road to finally being together was rocky, difficult, painful and complicated, but Connor and Cav knew what they wanted the whole time and did what it took to make it happen. And having Chloe and Jase there to help them find their way back to each other and navigate all the twists and turns that kept them apart.
My favorite part of this book? The EPILOGUE!! No spoilers, but I ended this book with a smile on my face and was so happy for these two. It was such a great way to wrap up this emotional roller coaster of a duet.
𝒢𝑒𝓃𝓇𝑒 | 𝒯𝓇𝑜𝓅𝑒𝓈: MM 𝒫𝒪𝒱: 1st, Cav 𝒮𝑒𝓇𝒾𝑒𝓈: Good Boy/Bad Boy Duet, Book 2 𝒮𝓉𝑒𝒶𝓂 𝐿𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓁: 🔥🔥🔥
So Good Boy, Book 1, was told from Connor’s POV. The push/pull and angst was killer and I knew the HEA between Cav and him would be hard won. And it was.
Bad Boy is from Cav’s POV and we needed this. We finally find out what happened with Max, we see first hand how crappy Cav’s parents are, and my boys FINALLY find their way to each other and it was SO sweet. I knew Cav had it in him and so did Connor.
What I loved most about this book? The honesty. Book 1 was full of stupid mistakes and jealousy. This book was about acceptance and being true to yourself and the person you love.
And that epilogue? LOVED IT! From the side characters to the MMCs, this duet will take you on a whirlwind ride of angst and discovery. The love between Cav and Connor, while troubled from the beginning, showed when you find your person, the only thing that can come between you is yourself.
“Oh, please,” Jase says, rolling his eyes. “Spare me the martyr act. You know he doesn’t love Connor,” he presses. “You know Connor doesn’t love him, so what are you going to do?”
Bad Boy is the conclusion of the Good Boy/Bad Boy duet. It was written from Cav’s point of view, which clarified a lot of things and gave you a completely different perspective. I preferred the second book to the first book, it gave a much clearer picture of the precarious nature of Cav’s life and his relationship with Connor. I’m hoping that Ms Lowe might bring us Jase’s story as he came across as a bit of a lost soul who put his brothers happiness first. Amy is an enigma, why didn’t she return home when her parents were dying? There’s another story to be told here…hint, hint.
Cav can admit to himself how he feels about Connor, but shouting it out loud for the world makes him shudder. The Senator and her minions would never allow him to be himself, his whole life had been a facade for the general public and the press. However, he’s shaken by having to face Thomas’s affection for Connor, his threats and knowing he almost lost Connor. Jase is disappointed in Cav’s lack of commitment and gives him a not so gentle push along. Cav finds an ally in Chloe as Thomas makes his intentions to be an enemy clear.
Yes, this 2nd book was everything I'd hoped it would be and more!
A great ending to a fabulous push/pull story. After THAT ending in the first book I was eager to see where Megan would take this story, what would happen with Conner and Cav, or Thomas and Jase.
This book was too good to put down, our resident bad boy turned good. Or good as he could be, Cav made the story for me!!
His journey was an emotional one, there was so much heartache and pain behind most things he did... but a perfect ending to a wonderful duet.
I will definitely be looking out for Megan Lowe's books in the future!
I was so ready to dive back into Connor and Cav’s story after we were left with that cliffy in book 1.. these two were absolutely made for one another but the road to their HEA was far from easy. It was painful, rough, raw and filled with emotions. The growth from both characters from book one until now was great. I loved that this book was told from Cav’s POV where as book 1 we got Connor’s we got to see the inter workings and what Cav was feeling and what he’s going through. I liked that Connor always knew he wasn’t that bad boy but just needed to make Cav see it and stuck by his side along with Chloe and Jase. Gawd and that epilogue yessss I can’t wait for everyone to read it! It is completely perfect. Such a great story for these two! If you love a good MM romance this one is definitely for you!
This is part two of the good boy/bad boy duet and I have to say I absolutely loved it. This is told from Cav’s point of view and we get a glimpse into his internal thoughts and how his family life has been shaped and played out.
I absolutely love these two and I am so glad that this story played out as it did because it was beautiful to watch Cav grow and become the amazing person we all new he could be.
Yes there’s angst and some drama but working together will always be the better option. I always disliked Thomas from the first moment we met him and I hate the events that revolves around him because had he opened up things might have been different but guys right.
And that epilogue 😍😍😍 it was amazing to see a peak into their future and I hope to see more from them maybe
Yes this 2nd book was everything I'd hoped it would be and more! A great ending to a fabulous push/pull story... After THAT ending in the first book I was eager to see where Megan would take this story, what would happen with Conner and Cav, or Thomas and Jase. Bad Boy is the conclusion to the Good Boy/Bad Boy duet. The story starts out right where book 1 ended and was even more emotional. Book 1 was told from Connor’s POV and I loved that book 2 was told from Cavanaugh's POV. The story gave us more insight into the characters and the author did a great job with their character development as the story progressed. Along with the captivating main couple we were given some appealing secondary characters who provided great support and balance. Conner and Cav knew what they wanted and while their journey to a HEA wasn't smooth they both did what was needed to get there. This emotional, steamy and heartbreaking coming of age story will tug on your heartstrings and I would highly recommend it to lovers of MM romance.
Angsty, captivating and cathartic, Bad Boy is the perfect continuation to this incredible duet.
After reading Connor's POV in Good Boy and getting to know his heart, Bad Boy allows us a glimpse into Cavanaugh's POV, heart and soul. Trying to pick up the pieces after the intense ending of Good Boy, and finally deciding to stop fighting who he is and what he wants, Cav and Con's relationship is finally blooming, though now they have to content with how the outside world will react.
This emotional, steamy and heartbreaking coming of age story will tug on your heartstrings and make your soul ache in the best of ways.
Cav and Con are back, but before things are going to get easier, they’re going to get harder. I really enjoyed the feisty personalities that came out in this one. It gave both guys the opportunity to show who they really are and to shine as individuals and showcase the different sides of themselves. I thought this one did a great job of showing the homophobia that still exists within families and society today and the barriers people still face. The only thing lacking for me was more insight into Thomas. I would have loved more follow up there, but I get why it didn’t happen. I’m happy to focus on the beautiful future Cav and Con have together.
I anticipated this book so much after reading the first one, Good Boy, because based on where it was left off, I knew this one would be emotionally charged and steamy AF. I am so glad I was not wrong! In this book, we really get to see the transformation of Con and Cav's relationship; their sweet (very sweet) moments, and their spicy moments too. What I loved the most, was how although there was a lot of pressure on Cav's end to maintain his reputation, he was strong enough to realize when, and that his self worth, and love for Connor mattered more.
This book picks up right after the last one. This one is definitely more emotional.
I loved how complex the characters became in this story. The author really gave them some depth in this one and I found myself really liking the characters more as they revealed more aspects of themselves.
I loved the more realistic, contemporary feel to this story. I found myself rooting for them each step of the way.
This story really pulled at my heartstrings and I really felt like the author wrote a coming of age story where these two boys were forced to find themselves in order to find each other.
What an ending for this duet! I fell in love with these two and this book did not disappoint. I loved seeing the story from Cav’s point of view and everything he’s been through. He tugged at my heartstrings, and seeing his growth in this story was great. It’s everything you want in a romance and more!
Okay this one was *slightly* better than the first, but…barely. Absolutely the cringiest, most unbelievable KU romance I’ve ever read, but the boys, Connor & Cavanaugh were still cute. Even though it was absolutely terrible, I still enjoyed this train wreck of a duology and don’t regret reading it. Hey, any romance is better than whatever the fuck It Ends With Us was 🥰
I really enjoyed this read. The characters are well written and in a way that you kinda know what they are going to say and think and I love that. The only problem I can complain about is.... and this is Petty! Why is there a 30 year old on the cover of Good Boy and a 40 year old on the cover of Bad Boy? The characters are in high school!!!
Picks up right where Good Boy left us. Not missing a single thing. Finally, getting Cav’s point of view!! We get to know what he’s thinking and feeling finally. I love Cav and Connor’s story. They are adorable. Absolutely loved the ending!!! Highly recommend this MM love story duet.
I believe this book is a farewell to this author from me. I guess, I’m not a fan of his style, the books had potential, the dragging and the drama and the non decision making was a bit much
This is thebook two in the good boy/bad boy duet. Cavanugh and Connor story continues and picks up where one left off. And omg this book was amazing I couldn't put this down. They both grew as the book went on and the way they overcome everything wad beautiful. I loved this book.
