Understanding Earth

Rate this book
Understanding Earth leads the way by fully integrating the study of climate science into the core introductory geology curriculum. Through strategic placement of the climate science chapters at the beginning of the geomorphology content, we offer a text that places our changing climate as a key force shaping the rest of our discussion on Earth’s surficial processes.

This was a book I had to read for my Geology course. I loved it, though. Understanding the Earth is fun!

LOVE this book! Very Good introduction to geology, focuses quite heavily on tectonic plates :/ but overall very great for learning. The ancient history of earth is EXTREMELY fascinating!!

I loved how this book was put together, it was easy to understand and everything was explained very well. Each chapter has exercises, a list of keywords and "thought questions", which were all helpful and interesting. I'm glad that this book was chosen as my geology course textbook.

His writing isn't direct and although it may appeal to those of us with a strong background in science as a refresher it isn't that great as the intro book it's used for.
