The Bible is God’s revelation to humanity. It is our only source for completely reliable information about God, what happens when we die, and where history is headed. The Bible does these things because it is God’s inspired Word, inerrant in the original manuscripts. Bible translation brings God’s Word from the ancient languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic) into today’s world. In dependence on God’s Spirit to accomplish this sacred task, Christian Standard Bible is here.
Where there are significant differences among Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek manuscripts, the translators follow what they believe is the original reading and indicate the main alternative(s) in footnotes. The Christian Standard Bible uses the traditional verse divisions found in most Protestant Bibles.

The greatest story ever told! If you’re not sure where to start, I suggest the gospel of John.
“For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 CSB
I found the Five Day Bible Reading program useful in the flexibility it gave each week it getting through the Bible in a year - spreading the readings across only 5 days a week enabled spreading one or two of those set readings across a couple of days creating some lighter days alongside the usual daily load. It is largely chronological as you read through OT and NT simultaneously with about 3 Psalms/week. To finish with Job and Revelation was excellent. Link below.
Not the kind of book to give a Goodreads star rating to, but there is no other book in the world like this book of books.
Speaking personally I’m grateful to God for his revelation therein, above all in Jesus Christ.
Readable and accurate translation of the Bible. I am too used to the Tyndale-KJV line (NKJV, ESV, NRSV) to not nitpick it though - “This is the Lord’s declaration” gets on my nerves unlike “declares the Lord” in other translations. Contractions are fine. It is a bit insipid in the poetic sections but better in narrative. It’s not for me but a lot off people are being blessed by this so I won’t complain too much. It is accurate and readable, just not my cup of tea.
