Hero to some, villain to others, Czarface's true origins have remained a mystery...UNTIL NOW! Who are the Zarta Ku? And why has their desperate mission brought them to Planet Earth? Meanwhile, Zach and his dog were just a washed up wrestling tag team making ends meet on the comicon circuit when they crossed paths with a woman who will change both their lives forever. Written by Czarface's own Esoteric (Merry X-Men Holiday Special) with art by veteran illustrator Ariel Olivetti (Cable; Punisher War Journal), this landmark original graphic novel is a must-have for Wednesday warriors, wrestling marks, and hip-hop heads--or fans of all three combined!
Absolute trash. I’m a big Czarface fan. I love their albums. However I’m a bigger fan of comic books and as such I just can’t stand to see something as horrible as this comic especially while being as expensive as it is. The story is boring, run-of-the-mill superhero swill about some “villain” who wants to be a hero. He accidentally stumbles his way into an alien tech suit, then haphazardly ends up in the lair of one of the worst and most horrendously corny villains I’ve ever witnessed, and then proceeds to incidentally run into Czarface the group as well as an alien invasion. The story is bad, the dialogue is strange and confusing at times, the pacing is off, and the structure just doesn’t make sense it really seems like some panels are in the wrong place or incomplete. Overall just a drag to read and very disappointing. I don’t recommend this to anyone even the biggest fans of Czarface. Z2 comics deserves all the hate they get and not just because they make a crappy product. Big thumbs down on this one.
I was very excited to read this, as I am a big fan of the first two Czarface albums.
this book is not very good. as soon as I opened up the hardcover, the binding cake unglued from the hardcover spine. poor quality in the manufacturing of the actual book.
the writing... let's just say that Eso is better in the booth than in the bullpen. strange pacing, clunky dialogue. Hey man, we know you wanted to cameo as many of your fam in the book as possible, but it became too much. maybe you thought it was your 1 shot so you had to cram everything in, but then there's this teaser at the end so.... I'm not sure. it would have been less clunky of we focused on Czarface vs the Rotstyler and left out the alien stuff for the next installment!
the artwork starts off phenomenal, but quickly moves to cheap 3d backgrounds, repeating textures, and copy+pasted army building and background characters.
overall, kind of a dud. leave this one on the shelf and give the first to records another spin instead
Only got this comic because I enjoy the rapper: Czarface. A Czar is Born was quite boring. That's what was most disappointing. I expected a lot of action and a cool back story for Czarface, but it fell flat.
I gave it two stars because I like the cover art and I like owning a piece of Czarface lore.
Dope piece of Czarface memorabilia, not a great comic. Suffers from poor writing and plot development. The artwork in the book is Awesome! But had to really push through to get it read. At the end of the day it is what it is, band merch.
It's kind of an endearing dog lover's tale. I would like to read the next edition to see where this gets taken. There is a lot of potential for character development.
The legand of Czarface. He was a washed up pro wrestler that an alien suit helped him save his dog and the world. Love the comic book look on the albums and to now read a comic about him
