Zodiac Cusp Kids #5

Something Twisted

Rate this book
Two years have passed since Angie, David, and Jenny returned from their star-hopping adventure and learned the identity of the Guardian. Now sophomores in high school, the kids are trying to juggle saving their hometown while also having social lives, playing on sports teams, acting in plays, and studying healing magic outside of class. When those worlds begin to collide with dangerous magic, the kids have their hands full figuring out whom to trust. Then, David's mom gets dragged into the mess and the Guardian puts his relationship with the whole team on the line to discover the identity of the culprit. Plus, Great Dane-sized-spiders. Hold onto your hats, Something Twisted is going on!

Something Twisted is the fifth of seven stories drawn from Angie's diaries. Kept safely hidden for decades, they tell how the kids spent their teenage years--working with their mentor, Mr. Rakow, and Jenny's mom, Lorraine, who dabbles in witchcraft, to realize their power and battle the forces of darkness that menace their hometown.

Something Twisted sure lives up to its name! Things go sideways pretty quick for Angie and her friends in this Zodiac Cusp Kids adventure, so buckle up and hold on tight. Sarah Dale’s special blend of fantasy seasoned with a dash or two of science fiction is what an action-starved reader craves. Pour a little 80s pop culture on top, and you have a hell of a literary feast. Keep them coming, Sarah!

A Great Read

What a great story in Something Twisted by Sarah Dale. It is the fifth story in the series, Tales of the Zodiac Cusp Kids. I've read the books that came before this one, and I plan on reading the one that comes next. These are great books, and very interesting. It's two years later, and now, Angie, David, and Jenny are in high school. They are trying to be kids, and yet, their magic collides with dangerous magic, putting everything upside down, and another adventure. The dark forces are lingering, and there is a lot of action, adventure and even unpredictable layers of plots. Dale really writes so well, and brings this magical fantasy to life, and makes you just love these Zodiac Cusp Kids. It is always an honor to read this author's books. This author is a great storyteller. Who could ask for more when it's filled with magical/fantastical creatures and other interesting beings? Something Twisted is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. Amy's Bookshelf Reviews recommends that anyone who reads this book, to also write a review.
