Inspector Ashish Bharadwaj is arrogant and hot-tempered, but he’s usually right about things. His brother, Manav, is quiet and intuitive. He is also brilliant at solving cases.
When Shravya Chandra, wife of Arun Chandra the film star, goes missing – Ashish and Manav have their own hunches. Ashish is out to prove Arun Chandra’s guilt. But Manav wants to know more about Shravya’s old friend, Anchal because he’s certain that she is hiding something big.
They both can’t be right, of course.
Ashish doesn’t want to be wrong; he’s never wrong. And Manav would give anything to snatch a victory from under his brother’s nose.
Who’s right? And at what cost are they going to win?
Since everyone’s looking only for what they want to see, will they ever actually find out what happened to Shravya Chandra?
And so begins the battle of egos, the endless search for a killer and the unravelling of secrets…
Okay I will start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery thriller.
It starts with a disappearance of wife of famous actor Arun Chandra which makes it a high profile case and as a result gets a lots of publicity. The case is being investigated by inspector Ashish Bharadwaj. The case appears simple missing case in the start but as the story unfolds we know it is not really.
With his brother Manav's involvement in the case who is polar opposite of how Ashish is, makes things personal and the case even more difficult for the inspector.
The story has a pace and keeps readers engaged with subtle hints in between but I wasn't able to figure it out almost to the end.... It kept my heart and brain engaged and racing till the very end. More food for brain right ? Is that a right phrase even? Okay who cares.
But the end note is if you are into mystery thriller, this one is for you.
Silent Fires by Poojitha Prasad is a mystery thriller set around a hotshot celebrity Arun and his wife, Shravya’s, sudden disappearance. It also takes into account the lives of two brothers – Ashish and Manav – who are poles apart. Several theories are put on the table, many people involved, dynamics of relationships explored along with touching surfaces of existing gender biases. And while one keeps guessing and arriving at conclusions regarding the mystery case, the truth comes stomping its feet, leaving one baffled.
Right from the start, the author has set the perfect tone for the book. It’s racy, intriguing, and good enough for the reader’s mental gymnastics. Be it well-sketched characters or power-packed writing, the story does hold its reader’s attention. What I certainly enjoyed about this book is its atmospheric writing, rich with precise expressions and vivid description. I also loved the development of the plot, full of unexpected twists and turns.
I always enjoy a well-conceived and well-written mystery thriller. It takes a certain flair to pen down a story that makes one jolt out of their reveries. Silent Fires had a similar effect on me. I truly appreciated how subtly it points to domestic abuse, toxic relationships, gender biases, and patriarchy. Through the stories of its characters, the story sends out a message – a woman is not meek. Once they realise their power, you simply cannot knock them down.
A noteworthy line from the book goes like this – Not every fight is your fight. Some are mine and I can choose how I want to handle them.
Replete with drama, entertainment, love, betrayal, friendships, mystery, Silent Fires would surely prove to be a roller-coaster ride. It is notably one of the best thrillers coming from an Indian author.
What a phenomenal thriller! Silent Fires by Prasad had me on the edge of my seat from the very start with that mind numbing prologue and I couldn't help but get up from my couch until the story reached a conclusion.
The disappearance of a 'high profile celebrity' the wife of famous actor Arun Chandra spins the story in motion, in this police procedural mystery thriller, where Inspector Ashish Bharadwaj leads the investigation forward with his team. What starts as a simple missing case, turns into something personal for Ashish as he is forced to encounter deep-rooted traumas of the past. With the direct involvement of his brother Manav, the story gets more complex with every turn of the page when both the brothers find themselves at crossroads.
There was certainly never a dull moment with Silent Fires, as the tension never takes a backseat with even distributed plot twists and quite a number of suspects that puts your 'little grey cells' at work. I was equally impressed with the climax and trust me that happens once in a blue moon! Endings can be tricky but with how the plot fell into place with Silent Fires, I couldn't have asked for anything more.
The story embodies a loud message to the masses and I appreciated how the author dealt with it! Every character had his own issue that needed solving : be it Ashish' or Manav's or Aanchal's and that added an extra layer to the already thrilling story.
Silent fires by Poojitha G Prasad🌼 Inspector Ashish Bhardwaj is called in for the investigation of missing case of Shravya Chandra, wife of famous film star Arun Chandra. While Ashish's arrogance knows no bound, his brother Manav who has a knack for solving cases is set out snatch the credit from his brother by solving this case. Will they be able to unravel the mystery and secrets and find Shravya Chandra?
This book has an unusual mystery that keeps you hooked, narrated in a gripping style with compelling cast of characters Poojitha Prasad has woven a complex plot. The story explores love, heartbreak, abuse, deceit, it was a tense mystery from the start and as the investigation escalated I didn't see the twists and ending coming. It was a swirling story with web of lies and betrayals, and the ending is masterfully crafted to surprise you.
Amazing!! Book keeps you hooked till the end and leaves you with your thoughts once done reading complelety.
When started, it feels like this story is all about a kidnap/murder investigation. But as you read through, you start looking for the culprit through the eyes of various character within the story. And what's best, your guess on the culprit keeps changing as you read through and there comes a point when u can't drill down on one and starts feeling like, I just want to finish it all to see who it is!!. Yes it definitely keeps one on the edge until you finish it.
I felt, the narration could have been a bit better at few places. However it doesn't make the book any less!
Two smart brothers-opposite in nature, Ashish Bharadwaj, a police inspector and his younger sibling Manav, an intuitive individual interested in investigations and crime documentaries.
The two brothers gets into action at the missing of Shravya Chandra, the wife of a high-profile film actor, Arun Chandra.
The turns the investigations take is unpredictable, none of our conclusions or guesses becomes right, and that’s like the best part about it, backed with vivid descriptions making us feel the story enough to keep us on toes.
The book also discusses many relevant topics like trauma, gender biases, toxic relationships, domestic violence.. and this simple missing case takes a great turn. The two brothers investigating on their own two different levels adds to the mystery. With more characters and great plot and character development, it was a very thrilling story from the beginning.
It’s an empowering novel in terms of showing the potential a woman holds within her. "Not every fight is your fight. Some are mine and I can choose how I want to handle it."
Except for the few editing errors, it’s a very gripping and interesting investigative mystery, and a great work by an Indian author. An appreciation for the beautiful cover too. I’m sure you will all enjoy this thriller.
This story is about the wife of a famous actor Arun who had been kidnapped on his birthday. This case is assigned to Inspector Sunder, but soon Inspector Ashish gets involved who regards Arun with wariness. Shravya had gone out for a trip with her friends to catch up with them after a long time, but when she returned to Mumbai, she didn't enter her home; she was dropped near her house by her friends, who couldn’t realise what a mistake it was. Arun believes that her friends are responsible for the chaos. He is connected to DCP Neelkanth who has faith in Ashish but is worried if Ashish will let his suspicion hamper the investigation.
Ashish is an honest police inspector who is known for his blunt attitude towards anyone against his duty. Manav is his younger brother who is a good observer and aspires to make crime documentaries in future. Due to Ashish’s hierarchy, Manav is allowed in station premises, and he is allowed to record the crime scenes. Ashish is quite protective of his family and has a younger sister who was abused by her husband. He is disappointed as he had ignored his gut then. In the beginning, Ashish is involved in a critical case where some big names are involved.
This story highlights the political control over the police, the patriarchy and how our past morphs our decision making. The story progresses with a bunch of characters supporting the twists that seemed to arrive at in all the new chapters. All those small twists that arrive at regular intervals keep the readers engrossed. Every character contributes to the twists and raises suspicion against their greedy means with Shravya or the possible suspect. I enjoyed how Stuti, API of Ashish, got a chance to prove her worth in that men-oriented station by the end.
The thriller keeps the readers engrossed from the start. The setting is strong, the twists are fascinating, and the author has made good use of her vocabulary. Her writing style is very detailed. The climax comprises two endings- one where the case gets solved, and the other where the reality sinks in.
Extremely happy to see such a talent in our own Bangalore. We are capable of giving a run for the money for all those flashy authors from the west.
Its an interesting and intriguing tale, which keeps you guessing till the last minute. Characters are well etched. Narration flows smoothly. Only it could have been shorter and crisper.
Shravya Chandra, the wife of Arun Chandra, a famous film star and celebrity, suddenly goes missing on the day she was returning from a trip with her friends. The case gets allotted to a hot-tempered and arrogant Inspector Ashish Bhardwaj tries to find where Shravya was or if she was alive or dead and also the person behind her disappearance.
Ashish's team included other police officers and his brother, Manav, who often assisted him unofficially. However, this got upturned when both the brothers got on different pages. Where Ashish felt that Arun was the person behind this, Manav suspected her friends and specially Aanchal who he felt was hiding something. Who is right, Ashish or Manav?
So, who is the person behind Shravya's disappearance, her husband, Arun Chandra who often used his power against supporting police or her friends, Aanchal, Mahima, Sukruthi and Purvi, who were not in touch with Shravya for years, but suddenly got in touch and planned the trip?
With a fast pace and amazing narration, the story is a roller coaster ride that ends in an extremely unpredictable manner leaving the reader stunned. Also, with an absolutely amazing character development, the author also portrayed social issues like toxic relationships, domestic abuse, gender equality, etc through this story in a beautiful way.
Overall, it is an absolutely gripping and thrilling read which will keep the reader hooked till the very end. So, I would recommend all the thriller and mystery lovers to definitely pick this up and beginners who are comfortable with encountering difficult words here and there in the book should also add it as a must read to their reading list.
Silent Fires By Poojitha G Prasad is Based On Crime, Drama, Thrill, Suspence.
When a celebrity Arun Chandra's wife Shravya Chandra mysteriously disappeared. The Police got called and when they arrived, they found two decomposed bodies and Shravya's ornament in one of the dead body. Police officer Ashish Bhardwaj and his brother begin the investigation in their own way. The brothers followed their gut in the case which lead them to the ugly truth behind the power of money and tangled them in confusion.

While reading this book, i was envisioning all the scenes of the book. It makes me feel like I am watching a film that thrilled me. I would recommend it to people who like stories like suspense, crime, drama. The language is easy to read. Highly Recommend..
"Not every fight is your fight. Some are mine and I can choose how I want to handle it."
"Silent Fires" by Poojitha G Prasad is an enthralling crime thriller at the surface, but deep down it talks about several social issues, for instance, patriarchy, toxic relationship, domestic abuse, toxic masculinity, and slut-shaming. The story revolves around Sharvya Chandra, wife of famous celebrity Arun Chandra, who disappeared suddenly into thin air. No one knows anything other than that she has gone on a trip with her friends and returned, but she got disappeared after they left her at the gate of her house. This case is being handled by Ashish Bhardwaj, an arrogant and hot-tempered inspector, but he usually has the right instinct in the cases he is dealing with. Manav, brother of Ashish Bhardwaj, helps him taking photographs of the crime scene, is an introvert and a cool minded person.
Ashish has a gut feeling that there is something suspicious about Arun Chandra, and he is after him to prove his guilt, whereas Manav has a gut feeling that there is something wrong with the friends that they are trying to mask something big. The clash of ego started between the brothers due to having a different perspective of the case. Ashish doesn't want to be wrong, coz he is never wrong, and on the other hand, Manav will go to any extent to prove his worth to his brother, and to show Ashish that he can also be wrong sometimes.
Kudos to the Author! For penning down such an amazing plot which is a crime thriller but in disguise throwing light upon various social evils. The language is quite easy and the narrating style is also lucid which makes this book beginner-friendly also. The ending of the story was totally unexpected and the author has not given the slightest hint of this throughout the novel till the end. My jaw dropped after reading the end of the story.
Who is right Manav or Ashish? Whether this rivalry of ego is going to affect the brotherly affection? What happened to Sharvya Chandra?
To know the answers to these questions, you need to read the book first. Do read and don't forget to share your views in the comment section.
Whoa, finally read a book from my favorite genre after ages. Just loved this book! Great to see such good books and plots from Indian authors. 🤩
I was hooked from very first chapter.😮 Shravya Chandra, wife of Arun Chandra who is a celebrity from film industry, is missing.🙄 And then two bodies are discovered mutilated and could not be identified but DNA reports apparently said one of them is Shravya. Two brothers 👬 Ashish and Manav, both investigates this case in their own way. Ashish is elder brother and police inspector.👮🏻♂️ He is one of those siblings who is always praised and gets all attention. Manav wants to make crime documentaries. 🕵🏻♀️
There are many twists and turns in the story thoroughly.🔀 At first thought, I guessed Arun must be the culprit just like Ashish thought. He was so obsessed on proving him guilty. But there were more suspects also. Four girls 👭👭 Aanchal, Sukrithi, Mahima and Purvi, who went to trip with Shravya before she was missing. Manav had doubt on them and he carried on his investigation.🧐
The climax was very adventurous.😲 Guns and fights and police!💥 But when the story was ending, I thought something is missing.🤔 There are still many loopholes. But then, the secrets came out and I was shocked with the ending.🤯 The punchline on the cover truly justified itself.✔️
I thoroughly enjoyed this rollercoaster ride!🎢 All characters were very interesting and well developed.🎭 Language is easy to read. The story is just amazing.🤩 Anyone who likes thriller and action stories would absolutely love this book.😊
The book starts with a missing case of Shravya Chandra, wife of a famous actor Arun Chandra. The inspector, Ashish Bharadwaj, had been assigned this manhunt while his brother finds myself particularly interested in this case and to find out the answers. Ashish finds a few suspects in search of Shravya and continues the investigation. Manav doesn't really works along with Ashish but sometimes tags along to the place of crime or investigation to click pictures so that they could be helpful. Ashish didn't want Manav to be involved in this case but he was quite adamant about it. This created a kind of conflict between the two to get victory over each other through this case. While the brothers go against each other to solve the mystery and find the missing Shravya Chandra, there's an startling twist towards the end of the story. Where Ashish and Manav both get the answers to their questions.
The book is short and the story is engrossing. I loved the storytelling style as it was simple, to the point and impactful. The characters specially Arun and Anchal were well crafted as I actually hated them by the end of the book. I read a bit about the author and it's amazing to know that her first book was published when she was fifteen. She's even currently working on a feature length film which is amazing! I'm really fascinated by her work and definitely looking forward to read more of her work💫
Silent Fires is a dark crime thriller revolving around the life of police inspector Ashish solving the disappearance of Shravya Chandra, the wife of a film star, Arun. Last seen with four of her friends before her disappearance, there are too many suspects to count. Manav, Ashish's brother, working alongside him suspects the girls, while Ashish is sure Arun killed her in cold blood. But there is one murderer, which of the brother is right in their detection?
The story kicked off with a strong prologue that gave us a glimpse of the past. I was hooked to know how the prologue would fit into the storyline. The plot is extremely well-planned and beautifully executed. Little by little, we discover clues that point us in the direction of the perpetrator. The scale sometimes dips to Ashish's hunches but then in the next chapter, it shows Manav's instincts might have been right. It keeps the reader guessing as perfectly as can be expected. There are twists and turns in the story wrapped in drama of the upper high-class society are all the ingredients needed for a page-turner.
The characters are not without their flaws, making them real and human. Even the main leads who are initially perceived as earnest and rightful have weaknesses and imperfections. They make the wrong decisions, suffer the consequences and rise through it. Be it Ashish the brilliant inspector with an ego the size of a mountain and prejudices he cannot let go or Manav, the social, confident, friendly who commits adultery and is a compulsive liar, destroying a lot of good in his life. The characterisation is one of the flawless parts of the story.
The biggest plot twist at the end of the story has to be my favourite. Signs were indicating towards the ending but it's harder to conclude because of the other red herrings in the story!
Rupa's past as told in the story was left a little unclear to me as that storyline felt abandoned by the end.
Otherwise, a very well-written thriller and a must-read for everyone!
Silent Fire is a mystical thriller full of love, betrayal, secrets, drama and fun. It will captivate you with its exciting plot and twists from the start. The story revolves around the sudden disappearance of Arun's wife, Shravya. An investigation begins, led by a capable and confident but at the same time arrogant police investigator Ashish Bharadwaj. Manab is his younger brother interested in crime documentaries and insists on helping him in this case. Two polar opposites, two brothers who do the same thing but have different perspectives and perspectives, ah!! Of course it should have been interesting. So what really is behind Shravya's disappearance? Every time you think the riddle has been solved, the plot takes a new direction. The cover itself reminds me of the plot and is certainly appropriate and beautiful. The author has chosen an ideal tempo and tone that is well-suited to the book. The story is undoubtedly very exciting, but the book also brings to mind many things related to society's needs, such as toxic relationships, domestic violence, gender bias, and patriarchy. Silent Fire Reading was a really enjoyable rollercoaster for me. From the character sketch to the plot and twists, the writing, the cover, and the perfect storytelling, everything is perfect. Mystery/Thriller Lovers, Buy Now. You will never regret it.
This book took me by surprise because I was not expecting to love it so much! This book feels like a fast paced Bollywood movie.
I enjoyed the complexities of the characters where they were so well developed and felt very realistic to the core. I loved the fact that Manav was a true crime fan like me. Both Manav and Ashish's characters were so well portrayed with their own issues, shortcomings, and personalities that they felt very real.
The murder mystery was also very interesting and made me so invested in the story. One extra star to this book for making me so invested and hooked in the story that I could not put it down. I found the mystery very satisfying to my taste and I really loved the plot twist in the end. Like it all made sense in the end, you know. I hate thrillers where there's some loose ends in the end. Luckily this was not the case with this book. It was a very good and complelling thriller in my opinion.
Few other things which I appreciated the book was that the gender inequality was also shown in this book where women are not taken seriously in their work. This is a scenario in the real world and I appreciate that the author included this in the book. Domestic abuse, another unfortunate reality, is also a part of the story.
It was overall a very enjoyable read for me and I'd highly recommend this book!

✓Honestly speaking, I loved it! This was one of the best reads of 2021 so far. In the very beginning, I kind of felt that it's too slow and I might put it down without completing it, but I didn't even realise when I got completely lost in this book. The buildup is just amazing. The storyline, the flow of storytelling, everything is very impressive, specially the climax, it blew my mind. I would recommend this book to everyone! You all have to read this once atleast! Note: This is absolutely my opinion.
Suspense!! That's what you love and hate altogether!!
The storyline talks about the missing case of Shravya chandra, wife of superstar Arun chandra. But mainly it revolves around two investigation officers, named Ashish and Manav. Both are siblings as well. They work on same case, but the way of working is different, and the ideology, the basic plan is different too.
But none of them step back to support other and unite. Rather they keep working towards what they believe in. But who's guess is going to be right? Who's investigation is going to be the right one ! Which one of them will get to know the truth behind the missing person, Shravya?? Who's perspective will be the right one to work on!
A good portion of suspence is created in the story. I loved the way author has weaved the story. It's superb. The mystery and suspense is maintained in a very great way. I liked the writing style. The moment I thought things are solved, the very next moment situation would take a striking turn, and there we go on to read more of the investigation. A very interesting read it is. Pace of the story is normal. Never do it gets boring at all. I loved reading this book.
Bringing you another crime/investigative thriller that I really liked.
This story begins with the disappearance of Shravya Chandra, wife of film star Arun Chandra. So, yes it is a high profile case.
Inspector Ashish Bharadwaj leads the investigation with his team. Ashish's brother Manav also gets involved in the case.
Each brother ends up following different leads.
Who's right? Who is responsible for Shravya's disappearance and probable death?
Pick this book up to find out more.
What worked for me:
1. I like my thrillers to be fast paced and this was just that. The plot building was not dragged. You will definitely keep on turning those pages in one go!
2. The characters are well developed. Each has his or her own backstory, but unnecessary words are not spent elaborating those. The author did a good job in sticking to whatever is needed for the plot while delving into the character personalities.
3. Unpredictability: a good thriller should always keep you guessing. The twists and turns kept me on edge. Also, the suspect pool will keep you guessing.
4. The storyline is not flat. It is layered and I thoroughly enjoyed the feeling when each of those layers were peeled off.
This review is in association with @kharidobechobooks Author- Poojitha G. Prasad Genre- Crime Thriller, Mystery No. of pages- 221 Age Rating- 11+ Star rating- 5 Trigger warnings: death and abuse
The wife of famous Arun Chandra- Shravya Chandra has gone missing. The arrogant and hot tempered Inspector Ashish Bharadwaj is set in his ways whereas his brother Manav has got his whole other theory about the case. In the atmosphere of two brothers’ clashing hunches and ego, will justice be served? A gripping story that brings us face to face with the ugly realty of our society in a harsh way, this book is amazing. With the main theme as domestic abuse of women, the author has done a great job at making it interesting for the reader and as well as enlightening us with new things. The suspense which spans throughout the book doesn’t make it boring at any point in time. Though I gotta admit that I was able to predict the ending a bit earlier, it stll didn’t make the experience any less fun. The writing was also superb. All in all I loved this book and would recommend to all of you. Please do grab this one and share your experience with me. Thanks for giving me chance to read such a masterpiece . #Kharidobecho #KharidobechoBooks #Kb_ki_Family #ReviewerPartner
One's search for a well-conceived and meticulously crafted mystery thriller from an Indian author is sure to end with this novel. The seamless flow of the story with amazing characters and ever-growing suspense is nothing but a sure-shot recipe to keep the readers on the hook till the last page.
The novel revolves around the mystery of missing Shravya Chandra who is the wife of a famous actor Arun Chandra. Shravya goes on a trip with her college friends but never returns home. Multiple people who have their motives come under suspicion. There are conflicting views, observations, misses, analyses, and findings. Each of the theories appears true and competing which continues to add to the growing suspense. But no one can guess the truth until the author reveals it at the end.
It's always a treat to read character-driven stories, especially when suspense is maintained till the end. And, this story is sure to touch a cord or two in the heart of mystery thriller fans.
Silent Fires by poojitha Prasad has done a great job i would say....
⚡So this book is about mystery of a Arun Chandras wife who goes missing when she is on her trip with her college friends. So Arun Chandra is a renowned public figure .
⚡This case is handled by Ashish Bharadwaj, a police officer with his team and Ashish Bharadwaj has a brother Manav, he is usually the silent type and mostly lends help to his brother in recording and photography of crime scenes.
⚡I really enjoyed the twisty moments the author gave us and This book is for the people who love absolutely thriller mystery. Well this book was packed with suspense, thriller and everything.
▪️Who could be the cause of this case? ▪️ Was it her husband or friends? ▪️Or is there anyone else who is behind the mystery?
⚡what did I like? I like the ending so much and the plots and twits absolutely superb. .
The fireflies glitter up the dark sky in the evening and things come to sight easily. Well, I've been charged up with this one as the book's a pure mystery one where the work of author is quite equivalent to being spectacular although there could have been a few improvements made in order to make it appear as another blockbuster read. The concept is designed well enough to keep the reader engrossed into understanding what's the sudden trail which resulted in sudden missing status of Shravya the missing protagonist of the book. With multiple characters in picture, the book works like an action read filled with dialogue like narration style and every alternate page, unveils an interesting fact which is again, a worthy thing to know about. The appearance of the book is vivid and bright as it did attract me into checking it out which easily resulted in me grabbing it in the first stage.
For thriller lovers here a book that is bound to keep you engaged till the very end.
Two brothers having entirely different attributes are engaged in a mysterious case for the search for the wife of a superstar who vanished suddenly while on a trip.
Ashish is a renounced police officer. He is intelligent but charged with excess of ego, arrogancy and short temperament. When he can only think of one suspect Mavan, his brother accompanying him in the search for clues and taking photographs of the crime scenes, with his calm mind provides more angles to the case.
I like India based backdrops. It just makes the stories more easily imaginable.
As the story glides with an encapturing pace the sudden twists constantly add more intriguing elements to the plot making it a riveting read. The narration pours in more enigma when at some point every character seems like a guilty participant of the crime.
Who is Arun, What happened to Shravya, Is she hidding or was murdered? What's the motive behind it all? Many such questions start to pile up until the secrets start to unwrap one by one clearing the fog around them all.
______________ QOTD: Your favourite thriller book ? ______________
When was the last time you read a gripping thriller? Poojitha G. Prasad's "Silent Fires" is an investigative thriller strategically designed to keep you hooked till the very end. Having a solid background in filmmaking, the author crafts the mystery by weaving a network of complex characters whose interpersonal relationships take the story forward to its surprising climax which guarantees cinematic feels!
Even though the novel is plot-driven, much thought has been given to represent realistic, complicated, and intriguing characters. The book doesn't compromise ethics and principles to cater to the mainstream audience. Furthermore, it takes an unapologetic stand against toxic masculinity and gender discrimination at the workplace by critiquing the practices and attitudes of the Police Department. Overall, a suspenseful and exciting read that keeps you on edge. 3/5
Silent Fires by Poojitha Prasad starts with a hook. Shravya Chandra, the wife if a film start thinks it's a good to be dead ! Eventually she disappeared. But did she kill herself or is there any other reason ?
On the other edge of this story two brothers got involved in this incident. Ashish, the determind hot tempered Police officer and his brother Manab who's characteristics are completely different.
The duo starts investing this case with determination to win but not together
But the question is then who would win ? The one with the experience or the own with intuition ?
Let me tell you, what makes this book unique. It's the plot. It's not only a murder mystery but so many other social issues are involved.
Apart from easy and beginner friendly writing with fast paced another thing I want to mention is showcasing of human emotion and how it impacts human life !
Silent Fires by Poojitha G Prasad is a riveting crime thriller with a totally unpredictable storyline. The novel sets in contemporary time with a backdrop of South India. The story starts with Shravya Chandra goes missing. She is a high profile wife of the film star Arun Chandra. While returning from a short trip with some of her female friends, she goes missing. As the investigation kicks off, it seems that she has been murdered for some ulterior motives.
Shravya is neither a protagonist nor an antagonist; however, she remains in the story like banter in the backdrop. Her absence drives the plot ahead. In the limelight, there are two lead characters – Ashish and Manav – they are brothers. The author has taken care not to mix both the characters in chaos. Right in the blurb, she is clear about their tenacity. Ashish is a police cop, he believes in his gut instinct, while Manav is not a policeman but he is associated with crime reporting. He too loves solving cases but with a different and rationale angle.
It was indeed an unputdownable thriller. The story is full of twists and turns & I guarantee that you will stay shell shocked by the end of the book. I loved the way the characters are portrayed accurately. The style of writing and language is definitely lucid. It’s definitely a good book for beginners who are looking forward to get into thrillers.
The book was no doubt filled with a lot of suspense and twists! I assure you that you will not be able to unravel the secret till the last chapter. The characters were given their own back stories and personalities - something which I really like in a book!
I do feel that the certain un-feminist elements were there in the book, something which could have been addressed in a better way. But other than that it a great read!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The mystery was not so much complicated but the ending was sure shot thrilling. Shravya's appearance was predictable though. The political thread in the story could have made the story much thrillful. The theme was dark and realistic.
Key things to look out - Abuse, a Psychopath, a beautifully woven plot.

REVIEW This book is a combination of thriller, crime and mystery fiction that makes the book as a whole interesting. The plot consists of many twists and turns with many dark revelations. Character development took place and each of them was described properly. My favourite character is Manav because he has analytical skills. The way the author narrated the story it feels that the truth was clear but the ending was unexpected. The author has designed the plot systematically with no complexities in his narration or writing. The language is easy to read. I finished reading this book within two sittings. I must say the plot engrossed me so much that I also became eager to know the truth. The title is very suitable for the content of this book and the cover is good. Overall it was an intriguing read for me. I can recommend you to pick up this book if you like thrillers, crimes and dark revelations.
