At a glamorous masquerade ball in an opulent mansion the elite gather to celebrate the introduction of one of their own to society.
But the guests of this party aren’t all knights in shining armor.
And tonight, Lucia DeMarco and Salvatore Benedetti will meet in a chance encounter one year before the contract that makes her his is to be fulfilled.
A version of The Swan Princess was originally published in Dark Fairy Tales: A Midnight Dynasty Anthology. It is a short prequel into the Benedetti Mafia world.
Natasha Knight is the USA Today Bestselling author of Romantic Suspense and Dark Romance Novels. She has sold over a million books and is translated into six languages. She currently lives in The Netherlands with her husband and two daughters and when she’s not writing, she’s walking in the woods listening to a book, sitting in a corner reading or off exploring the world as often as she can get away.
This is a short story that appeared years ago in the Dark Fairy Tales Anthology, which is still free on amazon. The anthology (I believe) are a bunch of short stories about characters attending a ball that is set in a lot of different book worlds. The midnight dynasty, Constantines, sparrow world, American Queen - so so many!!!
For me it was the prequel to the Benedetti Brothers series I am about to start. This little story was short and sweet. I'm not sure if it was best read before as the prequel, or a fun after read. I'll update if necessary! ******UPDATE!!!! This book shouldn't be read as a prequel. It was something written way after Salvatore as a fun add to the series. Reading it before was a bad idea because it was written after...therefore never referred to in the Salvatore book..so you miss the point. I would have much rather read it after, because it would have been enjoyed as it was supposed to.
I feel the The Swan Princess by Natasha Knight is best enjoyed if the reader is aware of the universe in which the story is set, even though it’s a prequel I feel having prior knowledge before coming to read this one helps a lot. It’s a cute backstory piece for the characters, and I feel things were left a bit too open for those unaware of the story to really appreciate all the details. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable story.
It’s worth it for anyone wanting a little bonus into the world.
This is Prologue for the Benedetti Mafia World. The characters are Salvatore & Lucia. Salvatore portrays himself as a monster. Lucia portrays herself as a prisoner at a nunnery to only be let out on her 21st birthday to be Salvatore’s. She’s able to escape for one night thanks to her friend for her friend’s coming out party. It’s a masquerade party. No one can know she’s there. By accident she meets up with Salvatore, but he isn’t the monster he’s known to be, to her that night. This prologue is filled with anticipation galore. This whole series is awesome!
I loved while Benedetti Brothers series. Taut writing and high sexual tension make the series a real winner. So the Swan Princess doesn't disappoint at all.
Lucia is promised by her father to Salvatore to save himself and her family. Once proven she is pure, Lucia is taken to a nunery until Salvatore claims her.
It has been 4 years since Lucia has been unseen. She goes to her friends coming out masquerade party but things don’t go as planned.
Salvatore and his brother Dominic are in attendance, they accidentally save her but discover it’s Lucia. What happens next? Ready to read their story in the next book!
I don't think mafia romance is going to be my thing... ever. I liked the way the Swan princess was included like that made the book have a way more ethereal vibe instead of the dark vibe this book was supposed to give. I liked Lucia, she just seems real. Salvatore on the other hand... he sucks he is mean for no fucking reason when he has an oportuninty to be kind he just lets it go for no reason!? I don't think I will ever read a mafia romance novel

The Swan Princess is the prologue for Salvatore book #1 of the Benedetti Brothers series. It was originally released as part of the Dark Fairy Tales Anthology. And features Salvatore & Lucia.
I loved this short story/introduction. It is filled with mystery and heat. Lucia is innocent and hopeful. Salvatore is very alpha and is next in line to take over the family.
It will have you wanting more of Salvatore and Lucia!
This is set in the Benedetti mafia world and is the start of one of my favourite mafia couples, Salvatore and Lucia. Before their story begins they find themselves at a masked masquerade...she’s supposed to be in the nunnery but she’s where she shouldn’t be😬 A good short story which I enjoyed😍
BREF. Une très bonne lecture !
This is one of the best love stories written in just 36 pages. I read all of the Benedetti Series before this one and I almost want to say that it was better to read it after because you know their story and the little meet cute with Salvatore and Lucia means so much more after you’ve read their story. Even Dominic! So great!
Heb het boek zelf niet... maar... a version of The Swan Princess was originally published in Dark Fairy Tales: A Midnight Dynasty Anthology. It is a short prequel into the Benedetti Mafia world.
I thoroughly enjoyed this intriguing snippet of Lucia and Salvatore’s “enemies to lovers” dark romance! This is set 1 year before Salvatore takes Lucia.
This is a intriguing tease leading to books about the Benedetto Mafia world. I liked the dress of Lucia and the spiking interest in each other. The series is on my to-be-read list after this. Read as part of Dark Fairy Tales.
Part of the Dark Fairy Tales Anthology. Cool idea that all the stories are reimagined (albeit it very loosely) and all the characters are attending the same masquerade ball.
3,5* Krótka nowelka, będąca wprowadzeniem do książki Salvatore, kiedy to Lucia poznaje Salvatore na balu maskowym, na który się zakradła. Dla koneserów serii.
