I agree they are atrocious- but perhaps more atrocious is the editorial mocking blurbs under each album cover.
A maxim I humbly submit to the publishers of "Seriously Bad Album Covers!", publishers of other humorous coffee table books, and the general population is this:

Whenever I need a little pick me up, I take a peek at this book.
