Kelsey and her unpredictable sidekicks return to entertain readers in the Kelsey’s Burden Series, a crime drama with heart, laughter, and the darkest of villains.
KELSEY HARRISON As Kelsey’s relationship with Grady continues to set off sparks—and not the good kind—Kelsey receives a distress call from Miami. After scrambling to pack, Kelsey and family fly south, preparing for a war with an unknown enemy.
CHARLIE HARRISON Lone wolf Detective Charlie Harrison is not thrilled with her newly assigned bodyguards. But even she can’t ignore the quickly escalating danger surrounding her. Add in a brutal double homicide—the victims being people she knew—and her world is quickly unraveling.
Together, the Harrison girls and their friends must divide and conquer to battle corruption, assassination attempts, and worse—broken hearts.
I love this series and cannot wait for more. This book was so intriguing and left me wanting even more. The character dynamics are amazing and the story line gets better and better!
I can not stand when I am several books into a series and all the sudden the POV's change. I love Kelsey. All other 7 books for me have been 5-star reads. I've been so engrossed and enthralled that my book-loving bestie saw me and she started reading the series as well. She's also hooked, but a book and a half behind me, so I let her know that things have changed. The thing is, I don't even like Charlies character. She's annoying and somewhat clueless. It drives me crazy when we find out all Kelsey has really done for Charlie. What she put herself through in the early years. Charlie just acts like an entitled ho. I'd rather stick to just Kelseys POV, or just about any other character than Charlie! I've already bought e-books 1-7, but I won't be buying this one.. No thanks. I'm still giving it 4-stars, but it's really not as impressive.
I didn't really like that this was more Charlie's book than Kelsey's. I don't really like Charlie as a main character. Her personality grates on me. She's immature, selfish, and makes decisions that aren't hers to make.
As for the Grady, Wild Card thing. Not. Happy. It was like Grady had a complete personality change! Never mind that what he did in the previous book was B$, the person we knew Grady to be wouldn't have done any of that. I don't like conflict for conflicts sake, and that's what we've been given.
The rest of this series had been so good, but the last two books made me so annoyed and angry.
Spoiler alert! Sorry your totally characterization of Grady and Cooper sucks. Grady has.been strong, confident and totally understanding of her quirks and need to get away does a 2 day mission change his personality? He should have been hit in the head or something to show how he totally changed to a different person. And for Cooper.to finally admit he was still in love? Really how.has he shown it like ever. Sorry I just can't. Not even going to bother reading the next book. I just don't care enough to invest my time in it.
I was bummed when the Kid was the feature player in this story instead of Kelsey. But the more I got into it, the more I liked it. Of course, Kelsey and the gang became involved. Multiple investigations from the Kid and another investigation from Kelsey made it very entertaining. So very glad I found this author, this series and especially this book. Enjoy!
Perfect Continuation If What Could Have Been A Completed Seeies
Everything again flows naturally, leaving only one open question - - who killed the dirty cop? My money is on Benny The Barber, but like everyone else, I'll have to wait to find out ... if ever.
This is just the best series. Always fun and interesting. The characters are so entertaining and fun. It has lots a mystery and intrigue to keep you guessing. Throw in some steamy romance and it is a great read.
I've read books 1-8 and loved every 1 of them all the characters are very strong and at the end of 1 book you wanna keep reading so you'll find out what going on with all the rest of the characters
I love Kelsey & Charlie! They've had such a hard life! Problem after problem! Some wonderful men to love them! And their own adoptive family ro support them and take of them!
I loved getting to know Charlie more. Poor Kelsey living in fear of losing Nicholas. This has been an excellent series. I love love strong female characters!
This book really took me by surprise with the dual POV for Kelsey and Charlie. It was interesting to see the differences that I never spotted while reading Kelsey’s books, and I hope this is a hint that Charlie will get her own series.
This has been a dark, violent but good series with a great heroine in Kelsey. I just don't like Charlie. She's grating on my nerves. She thinks she's as great as Kelsey. She's not.
