The Granville Legacy
Comprehensive and Masterful Writing
The final book in Patricia Osborne’s trilogy continues the family saga of Grace (now “Ardant”) and opens just before Christmas 1980, with her son George (the central character in book two, “The Coalminer’s Son”) the grown man, supervising his half-sisters decorating the tree at Granville Hall. Tinkerbell, who sits on the top, reminds the reader of his childhood and, of course, Grace as a young mum, married to her beloved Jack Gilmore, when the family lived in the mining town of Wintermore. In book three, George is in his 30s and, to coin a phrase, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge. As family events unfold, the storytelling of changing fortunes is comprehensive and masterful. I particularly enjoyed how the lives of Grace, George and his sister, Alice, panned out, not forgetting Grace’s sister, Elizabeth, George’s charge in his formative years. Patricia cleverly builds not only on the main characters, but on Grace’s “extended family”, each with his and her own story, and the consistency in characterisation is impressive. As one life event follows another, with shades of their effects in between, I felt like one of the family sharing the highs and lows. Closing the book for the last time, my only regret was this dramatic and heart-warming saga had to end.

I was honoured to be an advance reader and to me this was a welcome return to Grace and the Granville family and it felt like I was slipping on a pair of comfy slippers after a busy day, this story was started by a shock and the we follow the ups and downs of the family Granville, Grace, Alice and George and the joy and happiness that goes with a busy family life, there came times of joy and times of sadness but they were in balance, building a warm and heartfelt story that is a perfect follow on to the two before.

The Granville Legacy, the third in the trilogy by Patricia M/ Osborne, is told in two voices. Young George is now Lord Granville who has the looks and sensitivity of his Da, yet has the austere practicality of his grandfather, the former Lord Grandville. He goes back to his father’s coal mining roots to find his bride. He seeks to protect the women in his family, namely his mother Grace and sister, Alice who has married his former roommate who bullied him.
Grace also shares her thoughts as she too tries to shield her first-born daughter from an abusive husband while losing another husband and being left as a new single mom to two. Through many twists and turns, she cleaves to her remarkable son, the new Lord Granville, her close friends and family to make it through to the next chapters of her journey.

Moving into the 1980’s, this is the final book in The House of Grace trilogy, and it’s a real page-turner! Told by both Grace and George, secrets are uncovered, lies are revealed, and triumphs and tragedies are endured. So many misunderstandings, so much heartache, and love. The House of Grace goes from strength to strength, but can George and Grace ever be truly reconciled, and will George ever understand why Grace sent him away? Love is the enduring factor in this book, past, present and future love pervades the pages and drew me into the story. I loved it, and highly recommend this fabulous book and the trilogy.

House of Grace Trilogy
I enjoyed all three of these heart warming books filled with love; couples in love, familial love and even the love of good friends who are more like family. There was plenty of heartbreak too but handled with courage, strength and lots of love. I couldn't put these books down, ordering the next as soon as I finished the last. When I reached the end of the third and realized there wasn't a next book, I found myself saying out loud, "Oh no!". A truly wonderful series and a must read for your book wish list. Doesn't everybody have one of those?

Last of the trilogy
I guess the best did come last, but one must read the first two before arriving at the end of book three. I was touched emotionally throughout this novel and in such a manner as one would expect with the events of each decade in ways similar to my own, such as child loss. Do NOT read the last chapter! Instead, let your heart be filled with a yearning for something to be voiced and finally see and read it in print like I did. Five stars.

A Great Ending For a Great Trilogy!
I just could not put the book down, so now at 2:00 AM I am writing a review. I am satisfied by the resolution of loose ends and hope you will be satisfied also. Now I am off to sleep and then select my next read tomorrow, or rather later on today. I hope you enjoy the trilogy as much as I did. Happy Reading!

I couldn’t wait to feast my eyes on the third book, The Granville Legacy, in this amazing ‘House Of Grace’ trilogy. At last, a few weeks holiday allowed me to do just that, and it didn’t disappoint. Having read the Coal Miner’s Son, I was excited to get started and return to the family now set in the 1980’s. The author Patricia M Osborne enticingly sets the pace from the start and I’m back with George with only more devastating news. This absorbing Family Saga takes you on many paths filled with a mix of emotions including romance, heartbreak, and family conflict. Written in a most wonderful way with its believable, well fleshed out characters and detailed descriptive scenes I was as equally captivated as with previous books. I loved all the characters, each and every one, but George Gilmore certainly stands out for me when it comes to his families’ wellbeing. It’s a great tale and I would recommend reading all three books to be sure to engage thoroughly and not miss one word.

George is all grown up and has inherited his grandfather's title and estate. Another tragedy for Grace threatens to derail life for the Gilmores/Granvilles once again.
I was looking forward to reading this book, having thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in the series. And I wasn't disappointed. Patricia M Osborne's research and attention to details bring the 1980s to life in the same way she did with the earlier decades. There's lots going on, as various story threads come to fruition. I read the whole book at one sitting. Highly recommended.

Read this final book of the trilogy & it kept me wanting to turn the next page. Read it in one night. Patricia is very good at setting the scene & describing the characters.
This is one book you just have to read.
But before this one you should read, House of Grace & Coal miners Son. All of these books will want you to keep turning the page. 😊😊😊Enjoy

I have now read the trilogy and this one is just as good as the first one and this one had me gripped from the first chapter as so much happens you cant wait to read more to see what happens next and its like that to the end. A great story end to end.
