3.5 (@_@;)

2.5 ish stars? i have so many mixed feelings about this story. it had a very rough and confusing start, about halfway through it got really good but i didn't enjoy the ending. it felt rushed, anticlimactic, very unrealistic and disappointing. i don't get how a story like this can just have a happy ending after everything that happened. i was expecting a lot more drama like character death or jail at the very least. the way sungho turned himself in but then because the warehouse burned down they were like 'well we can't find evidence now', huh?? he literally CONFESSED and you're just gonna let him walk out because of a lack of evidence? makes no sense at all, but i guess it is realistic for cops to be useless and corrupt so anyway..

sungho and dohyun would be cute together in an alternate universe where they didn't treat each other like shit but with everything going on here (especially the rape) i just can't root for them at all. the way they go from traumatizing each other to being all lovey dovey gives me whiplash. someone recommended this to me saying it's similar to killing stalking but i don't agree that it is personally. at least with KS it was made clear that you're not supposed to root for the main pairing, that sangwoo was abusive and deserved no happy ending. but in this story you are absolutely supposed to root for them and it's jarring. i did like a lot of the story, i think the way you slowly find out more about what exactly happened in their past is really well done. i do feel awful for past sungho and the emotional turmoil dohyun put him through, but i can't empathize with current rapist sungho at all. he had every right to get revenge but not like that, there is never a justification for sexual assault but this story seems to push the message that there is. the actions are condemned but sungho himself is not, they make you want to feel bad for him and understand why he did it and be glad dohyun forgives him, and they want you to forgive him too cause he's just a traumatized baby and he feels bad about it and tried to kill himself or whatever. i just don't rock with that personally.

at first i assumed dohyun lost his memory because of the near deadly motorcycle accident he was in that gets mentioned once at the beginning of the story but then in a Q&A the writers said it was just because of 'life breaking him down', which seems like a big missed opportunity to say he got a concussion from the accident, i don't get how you can just forget a close friend you had a sexual and romantic relationship with during high school (who you also met up with again after graduation and were planning to move in with) by the age of 28. like i understand having bad memory and i relate but to forget a WHOLE PERSON you have such a big history with, every single memory with them when you have hundreds, all because of natural reasons is kinda strange.

i really loved joseph's character, he deserves so much better than yongsoo but their dynamic is fun to watch and i wish we saw more of them. i would love to read a spinoff manhwa just about them and their shenanigans.

the art was bland in the beginning but gets better as the story progresses.

that's about all i have to say for now. this was a wild ride and i don't think i would recommend it to anyone despite its positive points

Tetep greget! Tapi greget yang beda gitu.
Jujur, agak capeeeekk ngikutin season 2 gegara ceritanya muter-muter aja di situ: Orang Satu kena mental breakdown Orang Dua merawatnya, terus giliran Orang Dua kena mental breakdown Orang Satu merawatnya, teruuus aja gantian sampai akhirnya salah satu coba bundir dan lingkaran mental breakdown itu putus.
Capek. Tapi greget.

Endingnya....... Bikin cemas yak.

Pusingnya dapet, keselnya dapet, penasarannya dapet, frustrasinya dapet, paket lengkap! Cuma ending-nya aja yang terlalu happy happy easy life usai cerita yang terlampau kelam.

5/5 full star deh. Official Tappytoon.

What should i say, this story darker earlier, but emotional to the ending. The amount of mix feeling about how i should accept Dohyun and Sungho relationship in the end also quite desperate me.

This almost have a taste like Killing Stalking, but far from suffocating mental breakdown through the plot. (And Sungho isnt as Psychopath than Sangwoo guy) The ambiance and premise just almost the same, abducting, raping, possesive , etc. its just this story telling the sadness behind those craziness really well.

We already start with very crazy torture but in questionable motive, that makes us hating Sungho and thought will never normalize their good ending. But……
Its start in the middle (season 2?) open a bit by bit that both of them are actually look like a victim. About how their relationship from the start lead to this desperation torture, was telling in a very emotional writing. How them anger us at begin, but in the end i (personally) pity them, and idk… they deserve a second chance… as i read more the story.

Or should i wanted the bad ending when they both end up dying ?

Sometimes good ending for both fragile person are quite possible. But ofc with million reason… And thats what i thought after reading this.

It give me relief, but at the same time, its just so wrong.

Well they might be have long journey to put all the broken part back, and make the most healty relationship as the repayment later on. Idk.

And also dont forget both go consul to the psychiatrist pls lol

Btw the second couple is so cute , too bad we dont have enough story to get them through.

It's definitely interesting for what it is, and the ending is unexpected. Honestly, my favorite part was actually Side Story 1, which was unexpected. All the characters are interesting, and the art is quite pretty. The themes of child abuse, neglect, and the way cycles of violence are handled is pretty good. It's very angsty, and both protagonists have had very bad lives, and you feel for them, particularly the primary protagonist.

If you like stories with toxic people being toxic together, this is one of the good ones, and that's not a criticism or anything. It's pretty decent porn for people looking for this kind of porn. It's also got some interesting uses of BDSM techniques, even if it's not what I imagine most members of the community would consider BDSM, given the scenario. It's what it's meant to be and that's fine. All in all I enjoyed it.

So dark, make sure to check your trigger warnings.

There is just something about dark, twisted, obsessive love that I love to read. Its in no way a love I want to experience first hand, but reading it is so fascinating to me.

I love the art in this story and how the story and their experiences were revealed.

Spoilers ahead

Its a messed up love story but I loved it.

Major ending spoiler but you might want to know before starting this read:

I couldn't imagine how they'd come up with a way to end this story that would satisfy the romantic in me but man they did! They don't die, and they do end up together, starting fresh while working through their trauma.

3.5 -- slow start, some aspects are a little too untethered/vague for me, but i did cry reading the last few chapters so what can i say. idk how i feel about the ending but i gotta say major props to the authors for actually having the characters TRULY wrestle with the results of their actions.

highly rec reading this while also reading something fun. i was reading love in orbit (10/10, no notes) at the same time and it was truly the opposite of this in nearly every way and made reading this way easier bc it is DARK.

🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌

One of the most accurate portrayals of Stockholm Syndrome and very realistic ending. Great art style as well, very dark and unsettling. Criminally underrated I’d say.

I want more. It took it's time and even with the back and forth confortations it was somehow realistic. But really I want more.

1.5 ⭐

This book glorifies sexual assault in gay relationships via BDSM tendencies. Not cool.
