My café is failing! With time running out, I’m desperate for help. So desperate, I’m willing to accept help from anyone... except my famous TV-star ex-boyfriend.

But it’s gorgeous Kade who swaggers to the rescue. And now Mr. Charm-My-Panties-Off is working in my kitchen.

Though our attraction’s still scorching hot, I’d never survive another broken heart. We do the sensible thing and set some rules for while we're working in close proximity. No flirting, no kissing, and no... well, you get the idea. No funny business. What. So. Ever.

And sure, we're not perfect when it comes to rules. But how on earth did Kade and I end up fake engaged… on national television?!

This light-hearted, second-chance romantic comedy is filled with banter, flirting and fun. It has a medium heat level, and a feel-good HEA.

Natalie/Nat was running her dad’s cafe in California because he was disabled only it was doing poorly and she wanted to sell it and return to her job in Chicago. Due to an emergency she needed a new chef and her friend got her ex, Kade, to help her. Kade was now a celebrity TV chef but he had started as a chef at her father’s cafe years ago and they had been in a relationship but she broke up with him because he ever let her know him really well and he would never tell her how he really
felt. He had issues from his miserable childhood and his other’s mental illness and drug addiction. Nat was dealing with comments from her mother about not settling and giving up your dreams for the future. Nat and Kade still feel the sexual tension between them and agree to work together at the cafe but there will be “no funny business”, meaning no suggestive remarks, no licking fingers, no smiling or flirting, no casual sex, only friendship. Will they be able to follow the edict of “no funny business” when they spend more time together and they both still have feelings for each other?

I absolutely loved this story and happily give it it 5++ stars. This this book had everything, laugh out loud moments, angst, a light mystery, and of course loads of romance. Mat and Kade were a great couple who reunited after years apart and had to work hard to try to achieve happiness. They both had to overcome issues related to their mother’s and the author did a great job writing about their issues. It was fun seeing the other Lennox brothers again in this book and get a glimpse of their futures. I highly recommend this book and enjoyed the epilogue which was a perfect ending for their story.

Absolute trash. Lo odio. What a waste of time. I expected this book to be a cute comedy romance but instead it tried and it failed. I had such high expectations-I paid fourteen pounds. Now my money has gone down the drain. First of all the main character sucks. Boring and no personality. Secondly the love interest is a loser and everything I heard about his big capable hands made me want to vomit, and thirdly the author has no idea what fame is because the fans here were highly unrealistic and the whole book was cringe. I am so sad. I really wanted a good book to read.

While reading the newest Lennox brothers book, it struck me just how sly and out of the box Author Hunter is here, subjugating cliches left and right by using clever comparison and witty dialogue. This book is about Kade, Asher's chef twin brother. Its a second chance story with characters that don't act scripted, giving it a layer of pure authenticity.

So we as the reader get to know Natalie and Kade more, and we find that Natalie broke up with Kade years ago because she didn't think she was getting the whole Kade. In other words: he was such a good emotional wall builder that she just didn't see a future. Fast forward and today Kade is a tv chef, taught by his mentor, Nat's father Mack. He doesn't mind helping her out by cooking for a few weeks...until it opens up a portal to the past. The food related dialogue was painfully funny and smart.

"“Something smells good,” he said. “No, it doesn’t.” I lowered my fork. “And if it does, it’s a lie. Because this...” I used the fork to point at the quinoa. “Is anything but good. If this dish were music , it’d be a beginner’s bagpipe recital. If it were an insect, it’d be pubic lice. If it were email, it’d be trying to sell you a p#n1s enlargement...""

"“No offense, Nat, but I can’t let you cook.” Carlotta folded her arms, her expression stubborn. “People could die.”"

Kade and Natalie are very complex people and Author Hunter refuses to dumb them down for mass consumption. Natalie feels trapped by her father's restaurant, but is it a trap of her own making? Kade is charismatic, good looking and talented, so why doesnt he allow any of his feelings free reign outside of his family? Author Hunter explores these questions and more thoughtfully.

Do you ever get tired of reading descriptions of characters that bore you so much you can't figure out chemistry? Not here. Author Hunter uses terms and phrases that are unique sounding, making you really think that they could have come from these people.

"I choked out a laugh, beating the eggs so fast my whisk was practically smoking. Those enormous eyes of hers killed me. They were slightly magnified and rounded by her thick glasses, giving her a perpetual look of innocence, especially because her irises were such a sweet blue, the color of bluebells and butterflies. But when she let loose with her wicked sense of humor, the effect was devastating. Like being karate chopped by a kitten."

And the banter! Again, so witty, so knowing that before long you are wondering when these two will get a real clue.

"“And everyone in the world is convinced we’re engaged. Any minute, we’ll get a congratulatory telegram from one of those remote villages in the Amazon where they shoot arrows at airplanes that get too close.”"

"“You’re depraved. I can’t decide whether you should see a doctor, or get your own Netflix series.”"

I was relieved that there was limited Trixie and Edward, as they are always funny but too much of a good thing is usually a bad thing. But the romance fizzes and pops.

""You want to hear a secret ?” I whispered in Kade’s ear. “You’re the hero of all my stories. I’m living in a romance novel, and you’re my happily ever after.”"

As well as Nat and Kade's love story, you will be drawn in by a very bad cat, an unfortunately timed poker game, numerous receipes that may or may not be successful, a nude model that is extremely self confident, an evil plot to wreck the restaurant and a very meta epilogue that will make you grin. Trust me, it all makes sense. Except for Kade's pickle cake. I don't care how talented he is, that receipe can't be normal.

Tender, sweet second-chance romance

Aww, I knew I was going to fall for Kade's cinnamon roll heart and I was not disappointed! He's been carrying around the pieces of his broken heart ever since Natalie broke things off, but now she needs his help and he's having a very hard time resisting her.

Natalie broke her own heart when she ended things with Kade, but she couldn't see a future with him and couldn't figure out how to get him to see what needed to change. She doesn't want a second chance because there's no indication that he's changed at all so there's still no future together.

Every day these two spend together was a delicious treat. I loved their intense chemistry, their easy-going companionship, their standing shoulder-to-shoulder to face each other's enemies. There's a lot of baggage to unpack before these two can find a future together, but the love they share was evident right from the start.

As the third standalone romance in the series (fourth, if you count Willow and Luke's romance as the first of the San Dante series), it was a real treat to catch up with Mason and Asher and their ladies, and to see the fireworks show that is the culmination of Trixie and Ed's interesting association.

Whereas the earlier books focused more on outrageous humor and nail-biting suspense, this one downplays those elements in favor of a real heartwarming, souls-bared romance that proved to be exactly what Natalie and Kade needed. The HEA brilliantly solves both their career issues without compromise, and it also serves as a beautiful epilogue for the entire Lennox clan. I truly hope the author continues to write in this delightful fictional world. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Although this isn't the cover of the book I got from Amazon, the story is the same.

When famous chef, Kade, comes back to his hometown for a short summer break, the weather isn’t the only thing leaving Natalie hot and bothered in the kitchen.

Did I mention they are exes? Ohhh, nothing like that second chance at love gone awry the first time around. The slow burn, steamy chemistry and sexual innuendos are perfect between them. A hot kitchen, exes and a new fake engagement are the significant storylines that give it a light fun feel.

The story premise is that Natalie fires her crap-tacular pseudo chef the night before her one and only huge private event. Natalie’s friend Gloria knows Kade is in town and asks him to help his old flame. Reluctantly, he agrees. Natalie isn’t one for the restaurant business and can’t cook at all. She confesses she’s selling the place to relieve her financial pressures, and she wants to put her journalism degree to use. Kade agrees to help, but we all know it’s because he wants to spend more time with Natalie. Obviously, he’s nowhere near over her and it’s mutual.

Things take an awkward turn when a skeezy couple, Kade recognizes as a drug lord, tries to strong arm her into a lowball sale. Kade worries for her safety and suddenly blurts out they’re engaged, hoping his celebrity status would protect her.
Kade needs to work through his own dark past to give Natalie what she needs when things go from fake to real.

I laughed out loud several times with Natalie’s dialogue. She’s spunky and quick-witted. This story is adorable, sexy and fun. I really enjoyed reading it.

I'm actually giving this a 4.5/5

This was a fun, second-chance romance between down-on-her-luck Natalie who is trying to save her family’s diner and her ex-boyfriend, celebrity chef- Kade Lennox.

Tropes
• Second Chance Romance
• Fake Engagement
• Celebrity/Ordinary Person
• Small Town
• Dual POV
• Forced Proximity
• Incapable of Love/Emotional Scars
• Damsel in Destress

The book had nice pacing and solid characters (I especially loved Natalie’s father, Mack!). They were complex with valid development through the book. Nat- living with the belief that a relationship with Kade would be like her parents and hold her back from her dreams. And Kade- let’s just say it’s been a very LONG time since I’ve read such a tragic and heart wrenching backstory about his and his brothers’ childhoods.

I do wish more of his truthfulness about that past would have played out on the pages with honest discussions between him and Natalie. (Did I miss it, or did he NEVER tell her about his past with Frankie???????!!!!!!- Ugh- that point is so frustrating to me that it wasn’t included in this book!)

While I was okay with the ending, it did feel a bit unfinished to me. The second to last chapter obviously sets up for the future two books in the series, but I still wanted more of a revolution (especially with Frankie and Gigi Montanelli) in this one so it could be more of a stand-alone novel.

Rating: 3.5/5⭐️
Spice: 2/5 🌶️

Summary: Natalie took over the family cafe for her father when he ran into health issues. It’s not going great. Her jerk chef quit right before an important event. Luckily for her, her ex-boyfriend is in town and a celebrity chef. He offers to help but can they both avoid their lingering feelings for one another?

Thoughts: I randomly stumbled upon this one on a Kindle window shopping session and I’m glad I did! I loved the characters and the setting was truly perfection for a RomCom.

The back and forth was a little much for me and the writing was stronger in the beginning and then tapers off by the end.

I thought the FMC could have stuck her ground a little more and I really needed the MMC to come through with a grand gesture moment.

I liked that there was a sprinkle of suspense in there. It’s definitely a solid read if you need something a little light.

It was funny, sweet, cute, emotional, steamy and packed with feels. What more could you ask for!!

Talia Hunter has a way of grabbing your attention, pulling you in and not letting go. I wanted more of this story and series. It is well written and a perfect read. This book gave me all the feels with the great character and storyline development that had me hooked from the very beginning! I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, sweet, cute, emotional, steamy and packed with feels. What more could you ask for! Loved it. Totally can’t wait to see what this fabulous author writes next. Can’t wait to get my hands on it. Won’t even need the blurb, would just pick the book up and read and that has everything to do with this fantastic author and how much I love her books. Happy reading everyone!!

4.5-stars for book 4 in The Lennox Brothers Romantic Comedy series
I haven't read the previous books but after reading this one I will definitely will go back to read the previous three books in this series. I have only read one other book from this author a few years ago, but her writing has certainly improved. If you are looking for a romcom especially one with lots of witty banter, you won't want to miss this one. Honestly, the banter was some of the best I have read in a while. I found myself laughing out loud more times than I could count, you won't want to read it with others around or they will think you lost it wondering what's so funny. It was that great of a read, a book to definitely one-click.
Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited, voluntary review.

A Good Love Story💞💞

I've been sitting on this book for awhile and I finally decide to give it a try. I'm happy I did because I really enjoy the story. Natalie is a good woman. She is sweet, beautiful, smart and kind. She is stuck at her hometown taking over her dad's cafe. She has dreams that she wants to do but can't at the moment. I like Natalie very much. Kade is a good man. He is handsome, charming, smart and helpful. He is back in his hometown taking a break. He loves what he do which is cooking. I really like him. These two have a past together and trying to fight their attraction for one another. What will happen? The writing was great and easy to follow along. I will definitely read from this author again. Great work Talia Hunter!

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This second chance love story is between Natalie and Kade. It is part of the Lennox Brothers series. These two have a history that did not end well and now they are thrown back together when she needs help. Even with ground rules, they cannot deny the chemistry between them. When they can get rid of their baggage, they realize just how much they need each other. A story with heartache, humor, friends, family and love.

Nat is in need of an emergency chef at the restaurant and her ex, Kade, will do it. So many rules are put into place to protect them and luckily they all fall by the wayside eventually. The author has a great story here about another Lennox brother and his dealing with a woman that is worth his attention. The banter and innuendo is off the charts. Some of the recipes will not be put on any menu. The storyline is so entertaining and the ending is terrific. Well done.

Probably a 3.5 stars

I started off really liking the story. But the gaslighting from Kade about why their relationship failed was a little annoying. I'm glad that the story rectified everything, but I found it hard to like Kade halfway through. He did end up being a great guy...but still.... Both characters ended up coming around to rectifying why their relationship failed in the first place, which was nice.

Why not just be engaged??? Why wear a ring but not be engaged even though both want to get married???

So this was marketed as a rom-com, but it wasn’t exactly that, in my opinion, particularly because of the heavy angst throughout the book. Natalie & Kade’s journey was full of misunderstandings and easily cleared up misconceptions, as well as perceived betrayal, which again, is not generally associated with a romantic comedy. There were also parts of it that seemed to drag on unnecessarily. While I’m curious about the stories of the other two Lennox brothers and their respective love interests, I will probably only read them if they’re free or very low priced.

Natalie is having a very bad day, her chef lost his bandage and while searching the kitchen for it he forgot the bacon was cooking on the stove and it caught fire. Then instead of covering the pan he pores water on it. Natalie has to put the fire out and he won't help clean up his mess. After firing him she has to close and clean up the mess alone. Her ex boyfriend is in town and when he is told she needs his help he tries to help her out.

Natalie is back where she grew up, struggling to sell her dads cafe business after his declining health. When help comes in the form of her ex boyfriend Kade, she isn’t sure they can work together. He’s a successful chef and neither are planning on sticking around so maybe for a short while they can work together.

She has no idea of his past and I get why he felt like he did tbh. This was an ok read

this is a no <3 for me. i usually find myself getting annoyed with the main female character in these types of books....but OOF KADE JUST REALLY got on my nerves for like 4/5 of this entire plot. i got this book for free tho on kindle day so at least I didn't have to pay for it !!!

if you like cringey café related romance (with some spice) and a lot of closed-off emotional boy scenes, you'd enjoy !

Second Chance Romance Rom Com with some sweetly spicy moments....and some intensely irritating miscommunication and gaslighting from the MMC.

How do I review this...

Did I like it? Overall, yes. Mostly.
Would I read it again? Probably not.
Is it well written? Yes.

I started out really enjoying this book but as the relationship between Natalie and Kade develops, I really started to dislike Kade. By the end, I was rooting for both of them to end up in therapy, not each other's beds. 🤷‍♀️

A light hearted rom com, with all of the classic cheese 🧀 I sped through this book within a week and enjoyed the story of Nat and Kade, although definitely getting frustrated with all of the on and off of their romance!

I can’t say I’d read more of the series because I didn’t love it, but it’s a nice easy read to start 2024

Tame for me . Cute little rom com style. Banter was on point with the characters. The angst was good tho annoying cause It was the miscommunication or communication trope which is so fr8gging realistic it hurts. Overall super cute small town book gave it 4 🌟
