I'm not usually a fan of books with a villain as the main character but the fact that Juggy seems to be swinging back towards the heroic end of the spectrum in this mini-series gave me hope.

Honestly, the story was just OK. We have a new character who is another attempt to appeal to 'the kids' as she’s a livestreamer (I know what that is! I'm not that old!) but she comes across a bit two-dimensional, particularly as the 'twist' to her arc was highly predictable. We also have Cain Marko's journey to becoming the Juggernaut again, told in flashback sequences that weave their way through the first four issues. I'm not a huge fan of the flashback as a storytelling tool but this worked reasonably well.

That being said, I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it. It was a decent enough adventure story that establishes a new status quo for Juggs and his newfound supporting cast that I'd be interested to see explored further.

I love Ron Garney's artwork, so I have absolutely no complaints on the visual side of this book. Matt Milla's colouring was pretty good too; it really suits Garney's style. It was great to see Ron drawing the Hulk again, too, during his second issue guest appearance.

Story: 3 stars
Artwork: 5 stars
Overall: 4 stars

Like everybody else, I’m not a Juggernaut fan, but I heard that Fabian Nicieza was doing to Juggs what Matt Fraction did for Hawkeye. Could that even be possible? Nope and he didn’t! I’ve never read a standalone Juggy book before but I imagine this is as bad as any of the previous ones (if they exist) have been.

Juggernaut’s working for Damage Control trying to be helpful for some reason that’s probably the result of some garbage recent event (these unusual limited serieses are often the ripple effects of those storylines). He’s done serving madmen and gods - every choice from now on is going to be his! Except for serving some mutant girl he randomly comes across. Adventures ensue until they don’t. Please stop him now, I’m having such a bad time, I’m having a yawn… (with apologies to Queen for the last part).

The new mutant character has a turrible name - D-Cel (so she’s a battery?) - and meets Juggs for a second but he decides to become involved in her life for no reason. She also apparently has a hit YouTube channel (“Roxtube” in the MU) and wants to make videos of him doing things like fighting Hulk - and he just goes along with it for no reason!! It’s such a flimsy storyline.

He goes to court for stoopid reasons, then fights Arnim Zola for more stoopid reasons - it’s not a good story at all. We also find out where he got his swanky new armour from even though it was unnecessary and didn’t really add anything. All it really showed me was how little I knew about the character before - his powers apparently come from a god called Cyttorak or something? Eh, whatevs.

I wasn’t that crazy about Ron Garney’s art before but it looks pretty damn good here. Quicksand looks amazing, as does Cyttorak, and the new armour does look fantastic - that splash page transformation when Juggs puts it on for the first time is really great.

I didn’t hate Juggernaut: No Stopping Now I just didn’t find it very interesting and not memorable in the least.

The Juggernaut is back, now working for Damage Control as a one man wrecking crew. He befriends a homeless teenager with superpowers who broadcasts her life on Youtube. Juggernaut's past continues to catch up to him while we see in flashbacks how he escaped Limbo and got his powers back. It's a solid story with some solid Ron Garney art.

I liked it, but this book was a wasted opportunity, Juggernaut finally had his own title and he had to share the spotlight with a new mutant, Krakoa is a nation now, they're bringing old mutants back, so there's zero excitement for new mutants, let alone one that is just another annoying millenial. I also prefer Cain as a villain, Marvel need cool villains, stop turning them all into heroes.

Juggernaut (who is SUPER nice now for some reason. I'm talking syrupy sweet. I prefer asshole Juggernaut) meets a young woman (who will not shut up for five seconds) and they become instant best friends because this thing is only five issues long and they have to get the ball rolling I guess?

So anyway, they get into a bunch of pretty random shenanigans and gave me zero reason to care about any of it. Even the art wasn't that great. Overall, a very disappointing little series.

Pretty fun, X-Men adjacent story that provides a soft reboot for an oldschool X villian and plays with major and minor (hello Damage Control!) characters from the Marvel Universe and Garney's art really worked for me here.

This was a pretty good book, its about Juggernaut and how he became the champion of Cyttorak again except without his influence in the past and then in the present day how he is working with this girl D-Cel and kinda redeeming himself and fighting villains or heroes like Hulk, Arnim Zola, Quicksand and Primus and this prison people or something and how ultimately he acts as a guide to D-Cel and how he saves her by making her accept her mutant identity and sending her to Krakoa, its a quick read and nothing special but good to see Cain redeemed, have a partner and continue being heroic. The art was great and I really like the fights and action scenes, this is one and done story that won't have much of an impact but a good read for an evening!

Solid fun, above average art, annoying focus on vlogging. No Stopping Now seems to be a re-introduction and reboot of the Juggernaut character, so I was a bit mystified by the whole "quest for Cyttorak" aspect of the story, but the parts of the story featuring Juggs bashing through a building made perfect sense. I guess he's a hero now? Cool, cool.

Juggernaut is joined by new hero D-Cel, who has deceleration abilities. She's the annoying vlogger who narrates No Stopping Now, though she ultimately has an important role to play in the narrative vis-a-vis Krakoa. I'm suitably intrigued to read more Juggernaut content, but for now this was a decent snack.

Fabian’s Juggernaut is a forgettable mini series that introduces a “roxxtuber” (ugh) named D-Cel and doesn’t really focus on Cain Marko that much. The art is pretty lousy in spots especially towards the end. Juggernaut just doesn’t bring any of what I wanted from that character or add on to what the current oversaturated X lineup has to offer.

It was ok.

This girl who Juggernaut is having this little adventure with throughout the mini series, is boring and not interesting at all, so that really bummed me out, simply because I wanted a story with Juggy and instead I got the classic kid-adult duo and I personally didn't like it that much.

Story was ok, artwork was nice but overall unfortunately nothing to write home about, just an ok story.

Nothing can stop the Juggernaut, except himself. Cast out of the world of the mutants by their new status quo on Krakoa, Cain Marko goes it alone. But his newest friend Decel and encounters with Arnim Zola and the Immortal Hulk mean that he won't be alone for long!

Juggernaut's an odd character for a solo series, even a mini one. He's fun, but I've never felt him to be particularly dense. Fabien Nicieza tries to prove me wrong, with varying degrees of success. Decel comes across far more interesting than Juggy himself, and the actual plot of the series pinballs around more than the Juggernaut in a pinball machine. There's a lot going on, and by the time it resolves into something cohesive, it's all over. There's a promise of more, but I don't know if we're going to see it.

Ron Garney's artwork is pretty decent, but it definitely degrades as the series goes on. Hats off to him for drawing all five issues, but it looses something in the later issues for sure; Garney runs the risk of becoming a little John Romita Jr. if he's not careful - too blocky, and not enough attention to detail.

Juggernaut's first solo mini-series in a while has a little trouble building momentum and deciding what it wants to be. The driving force of the plot isn't its main character, and by the time it course corrects onto a true plotline, it hits a wall. It's not a bad outing for Cain, but I don't think it'll be essential reading in the history of the character any time soon.

Currently reading as single issues.
4 stars for Issues 1-4. (Issue 5 not released as of this writing.)

Full review after the series ends.
But, between "Punisher Kill Krew" and this title, Juggy is on a roll! (And I'm glad it doesn't seen to be mired in the HoX/PoX/DoX quagmire.)

***
4.5 stars for series overall.
Just finished Issue 5, which released yesterday.

And this is, hands down, one of the best mini-series of the year! It does a great service to an undervalued (but fan-favorite) character. (AND it brings back Damage Control? Sweet!)

This is a rollicking read; fun and enjoyment oozes from every page. And even better? YOu don't need to know the history of 12-other titles (HoX/Pox/Dawn of X/ X of Swords) to jump into this!

I don't need an ONGOING Juggernaut title, but I'd be more than happy for this creative team to revisit the character periodically and see what he's been up to!

The last issue of the miniseries was a bit of a letdown. Up until that point, this was actually a delightful little story. It followed Cain Marko as he tried to redeem himself from his supervillain past. Along the way he befriended a new --mutant?-- girl named D-Cel.

There were fights in just about every issue, some intrigue about the question of how exactly Marko got his powers back and whether D-Cel were truly a mutant. Most importantly, this was a breath of fresh air in the X-titles at a time when all the other X-titles were preoccupied with the abomination that was X of Swords.

While at first I thought this was only an okay story and was just going to be another bad guy turned hero, this book took a turn in the second half with the continued politics of Krakoa and this book was redeemed. Would love more of Juggernaut in this world!

Juggernaut's a tough character to sell on his own but Fabian Nicieza does a fine job here. Cain regains his powers in a different way but maybe more importantly, teams up with a powered teen who needs help, D-Cel. Their relationship is the crux of the book and its done well. The overall plot jumps from different antagonist to smash stuff with and against plus the books leads to...something that doesn't seem all that appealing. Ron Garney's art as well as the Juggernaut redesign was really good. Overall, a solid read for a book that doesn't have a lot of longevity.

The Juggernaut decides to try and make up for all the damage he's caused and redeem himself.
Unfortunately, all he knows how to do is hit stuff really hard.

So, with a sidekick he doesn't want, he sets out to deal with people worse than himself.

Fun mini.
I enjoy the trope of 'bad guy attempting to be a good guy in his own special way.' and this is well done.
Nice use of marvel history and Juggernaut learning that you can't punch every problem and having to think his way through some.

3.25 stars!

A clean and straightforward book with a good heart, a bit of a throwback, like a lot of Nicieza stuff. I like Juggernaut and am surprisingly into him as a hero (maybe blame my childhood love of MC2?) and so this was a good read for me. I'm not sure they explain Marko's faceturn, but I don't mind that. Generally I always like a conflicted type of person to a mindless thug bruiser guy. And Juggs has been around long enough, he could use a new take.
I liked D-Cel and her dialogue and streamer persona (written by a gentleman of a certain age, always a bit of a challenge) only occasionally grated. Felt a bit light, but I am hoping that it serves as a springboard for the character (who I wish they just somehow made a mutant haha) to be reinserted into the modern books or Krakoa in an interesting way.
Shouldn't have gotten this far into the review before I mention how killer Ron Garney's art is here! His Wolverine and Daredevil stuff was excellent, and you can see him still playing with his style and trying new things. Very cool!

While I respect the recent push to make Cain Marko more sympathetic, it still doesn't really click with me. This Juggernaut miniseries from comic veterans Nicieza and Garney was fun at times, but didn't really dig all that deep on this classic X-Men rogue.

The miniseries is broken up into individual adventures spanning each issue, where Marko works alongside Damage Control and a mutant named D-Cel to do good for society and rehabilitate his own image. Most of the stories are kind of flimsy - they lack any true rationale besides "this sounds cool". There isn't even really a pay-off where there is some new status quo for Juggernaut that is really worth looking forward to, so this feels entirely skippable. The last issue is the only one that really piqued my interest, largely because it loosely connects to the events of the overarching X-books, but otherwise there isn't much Nicieza's Juggernaut has to offer. Ron Garney's artwork is great as to be expected, and he delivers the action sequences well.

I like when characters that don’t get a lot of solo time get a book dedicated to them and their story. That being said, this was a weird choice when given the Juggernaut to work with. Now, it does give him some development or history, but I felt like it mainly focused on a young mutant he was trying to help. I get it as a symbol of his reform, but D-Cell was honestly annoying. And their relationship felt forced, and the pacing was jumbled, and it had current continuity mixed into it in a clunky way. I liked the art well enough, and had hope for the story, but it felt like a random choice in story when given a solo character to work with. Wouldn’t really recommend except for a Juggernaut fanatic (at least one person out there has to be named Cain Marko, right?).

I’m not a giant Juggernaut fan but the new direction for the character as anti-hero strongman seems interesting. Too bad the team-up future promised by the ending of this series has been unrealized so far by Marvel (to my knowledge) making this endeavor feel only a bit pointless. The art was fine to good, the presence of Arnim Zola was tired, a faceless grey/evil prison/science organization working for the government feels worn, and the new junior hero D-Cel and her constant need to YouTube/pre-TikTok speak was just obnoxious. In writing this out, I actually talked myself down from a 2.5 rounded to a 3 to a flat 2 rating as I realized Marko was barely more than half the story and it was the half I liked but didn’t love.

This series is better than it has any right to be, mostly due to excellent art. Juggernaut is an interesting minor villain with a two-dimensional personality that's even thinner than usual as he gets ordered around everywhere to punch things and wave hello to references from past stories. Way too much time is spent rearranging Juggy's costume and power set so that he's basically Discount Colossus, and developing new character D-Cel whose cool powers are balanced by her cringe-inducing antics.

Nicieza is the kind of pinch-hitter who you can count on to move the pieces around on the chessboard to set up for a crossover, and he does it with style, but that's really all this is.

This is pretty much what you expect. There's some important Cain Marko content—setting up his new status quo. Marko's new streamer friend felt... like Nicieza should not be writing "hip" streamers with generic pathos. D-Cell will be one of those characters that Nicieza will try to get in a project here and there, but no one else will touch.

If you care about Marko, you might want to know about his present relationship with Cyttorak. But if you skipped this, you'd be fine and I'd still credit you a Juggs fan.

A fun re-set of the character; introduces and clarifies the limits and motivations of the Juggernaut for a new generation of readers who are more invested in a flexible morality than maybe readers in the past, and who will tolerate a little more villany in their anti-heroes than before. I liked it, Juggy's new suit, and the story, and new character D-Cel. Recommended for X-Men fans and not fans of Vinnie Jones.

I was a little nervous to read this because I've only read the initial House of X/Powers of X hardcover and not the rest of the series yet, so I didn't want any spoilers. This was a great series that gave some depth of character to Juggernaut, who is usually just portrayed as an idiot who breaks things. Even without being up to date on the recent X titles, this is easy to follow and was very enjoyable. I'm not aware of another series yet, but I hope they do one.
