Being sixteen is a big deal for a teenager, it's an even bigger deal when you've transformed yourself into a girl using powers you didn't even know you had.
Coping with a new body is one thing, learning to harness your new abilities is something else, then add a fledgling career as a model on top. It's fortunate Shannon has her friends at her side as she follows in her sister's footsteps.
It's bad enough having classroom politics, now you have to worry about celestials and demons and the fate of your world and several others... and it's not even Wednesday.
Book 2 takes up seamlessly from the cliff hanger at the end of volume one and I went straight into it after finishing that one. This one introduces a whole new level of magical/fantastic beings and deepens the adolescent/young adult romance between Shannon and Beth as well as throwing Sarah into a whole new level of magic. The thrill from volume one holds as well as the character development of the ladies involved and the romance is very sweet, without impeding the hair-raising tension in the adventure plotline. The mixing of earth reality and fantasy world building is pretty much breathtaking and had me reading till midnight, only to finish the book the next morning and to go straight into volume three.
I have never been so taken by fantasy fiction but this book has been a real ey eyeopener. Truly enjoyable. Great main characters with a great supporting cast.
This is a wonderful continuation of an intriguing story. Amethyst is an excelent writer who does world building and well developed characters equally well. She also has a flair for the cliffhanger. I loved the resolution of the cliffhanger from the last book in this one and groaned at the cliffhanger that she left at the end of this book. An excelent read that I could not put down once I started the book. I enjoy Amethyst's writing and I hope you will enjoy her books too.
