MJ Ray is a mother, author and childminder who lives in Manchester, England with her husband, two children and dog. They spend their summers caravanning with their friends in between having to work.
With her love of being outside, even though the Manchester weather sometimes interferes with her plans, she loves to type away in the sunshine. She always dreamed to write and is inspired to write clean teenage romance, as so many YA books were unsuitable for her teenage daughter to read.
MJ Ray has been writing for many years and her books will always have a common theme…love yourself for who you are and be grateful.
This book had everything. A female strong lead, a guy with a dark past. Instant attraction, the right amount of drama and an hea. I absolutely loved it. It's about Sophie(blue) who has a gambling addicted dad who got out of control after her mom died and now she pays his bills as well as her own. She can't afford it, searches for another partime job and Declan(big guy) the brother of the guy(jack) she works for helps her at a bartending job. Because she can't afford her own rent she's evicted and he asks her to move in with him. On the one condition there's never going to happen anything between them. He's not looking for an relationship Needless to say something does happen and during the book your find out more about his troubled past and why he doesn't do relationships. You can't help to feel sorry for 'big guy' and want to comfort him and at the same time kick him in the nuts for being so stubborn.
The book can be read as a stand-alone, but it did ended with a bit of a cliffhanger for the third book about Mia & Denny. Can't wait to read that one as well.
Will Declan allow Sophie to heal his broken heart or will he try saving her from himself. I found this storyline interesting and engaging with characters that amazingly developed and entertaining.
I received a copy and am voluntary leaving my honest review.
The characters in this story are so real it felt like I knew them. Sophie is that happy, ever helpful, friend that many of us are lucky to have in our phone contacts. Declan is the big moody guy, nice, charming polite and always ready to lend a buddy a hand. Their story unfolds gently. Graduating from acquaintances to friends to lovers to their everything that anyone might dream of. No need for lightening bolts, billionaires or hate to taint their relationships....just respect & understanding, and great sexual chemistry we all wish for! This book is exactly what we need to help us all make it through these anxious times. A perfect HEA when the world is so full of crisis & the daily news is so depressing. Enjoy!
It's getting ridiculous - I am having to jerk off every night thinking about what that pussy of hers would be like. Then I feel guilty for having these thoughts about another woman, a woman that isn't Violet. - even if it is only sexual. But that body, though. God, I could do things to that body. I have to stop myself from getting hard just thinking about her now. She is stirring feelings in me that I haven't felt in, well, years. She is sexy as hell. I hate that I'm becoming a slave to my body, but my body says that it wants Sophie.
