Hi, so excited about being on Goodreads and sharing my Middle School books with you! I live in beautiful Noosa, in Australia. For most of my life I was a teacher of Middle School kids, and what an awesome experience that was. It gave me the opportunity to understand the problems that kids go through. My writing partners are Kaz and Bill Campbell, they were also Middle School Teachers. We hope you enjoy our books as much as we love writing them for you!!!
This series is great!! Here are some suggestions: Ali realises that Sai brings a smile to her face, whereas Mike does the opposite most of the time. Ronnie has many recordings of Holly bullying (mostly towards Ali - since she knows he has a soft spot for Ali) and Mike instantly goes off her. Ronnie does this so that Meg can be with Mike, but that doesn’t work out because the day when Holly’s illness wears off, Mike has to go back to his new home. Tyler overhears a conversation about his mother’s gambling with HaRRy (sorry I had to do that!) and he records it on his phone, but instead of sending it to Alexa he accidentally sends it on social media for everyone to see, and the bullying gets worse for Alexa (*cough, cough* Ronnie.) Everyone is fed up of Ronnie’s attitude so they tell Mrs.Jensen and she uses Casey as a mole to report to her with proof. This happens when Ronnie’s back is turned and she is bullying Alexa, Mrs.Jensen is walking in the corridors behind her. Before a sharp retort, Ronnie is caught and suspended for 3 weeks.
What is going on in this book seems to be setting things uip for lots of trouble further on. Holly is being her normal ultra-nasty stuff; there's problems about Mike's relationship with two different girls; Meg is moving in (upsetting two of the girls), Ronnie is her normal bullying self, Tyler is living with his mother (and we know that is going to present major problems sooner or later), and a valuable necklace goes missing.
It all stays interesting but sometimes I wonder what would happen if you got all the characters into a wrestling ring to see which one would finally coming out on top. I can see Holly and Ronnie as the stereotypical nasty female fighters to be joined by Meg. Alexa's mother would be running away but would be thrown out of the ring pretty soon. I'm not sure who would win.
