A Vow of Hate #1.5

A Vow of Forever

Rate this book
*A Vow of Hate Novella*

They say happy endings come after marriage. But my marriage to Julianna was anything but pretty and happy. Our beginning was tainted with lies and deceit.

We were poison until we found the cure.

The truth liberated us from our hate, and we found our happy ending.

Or I thought so…

Leaving our past behind has proven to be difficult when we’re surrounded by evil. Gracelynn’s death still haunts Julianna and she’s trapped in a never-ending cycle of nightmares. And me? I’m shackled by the unspoken fear of losing her again.

Julianna’s father asked me: How far will I go to protect my wife?

As far as I need to go.

The world asked me: What will I give up for my wife?

Everything.

*This novella is a sequel/extended epilogue to Killian's and Julianna's story. A VOW OF HATE must be read before A VOW OF FOREVER*

*TW: This story deals with sensitive themes like infertility, miscarriage and child loss. If you find yourself uncomfortable reading such material, please proceed with caution*

Out of five stars, I give this book ten. A Vow Of Forever is not s stand-alone; A Vow Of Hate should be read first. I have missed Julianna and Killian and so happy to read them in the next journey of their love story. Let me tell you the author writing since the AVOH has matured and what a difference. Absolutely love.

Julianna and Killian have experience pain and love together, and their love is stronger for it. Their story is not over yet, and let me tell you. It’s a rocky road. Killian is fiercely protective of Julianna. I love this side of him; Both are strong characters. We read into the future of their family, career, loss, tragedy, and love. It was raw, beautiful, and fantastic.

I now want to reread A Vow Of Hate and start all over. As excited as I was to continue their journey, I didn't want to say goodbye. My suggestion is to have tissues in hand.

A Vow of Forever is a novella that connects with A Vow of Hate. Killian and Julianna have gone through so much in AVOH so this novella really had me interested in wanting to read more about their story.

Like all stories there comes pain and happiness. Killian and Julianna both experienced so much together and their love is still just as strong as the pain they’ve endured. This novella was absolutely everything. There were so many cute moments that had me smiling. Although being familiar with Lylah’s writing there were also moments that had me in tears. I think those were the moments that made me feel for them even more. Killian and Julianna are both strong characters, individually and together they have their flaws but not everything is perfect and that’s what makes their story a lot more interesting.

Lylah James concluded this chapter of their story really well. These characters truly deserve love and happiness.

Star Rating : 4.5/5 Stars

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : None

Hero : Killian

Heroine : Julianna

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 7/10

Heat Rating : 6/10

Triggers Involved : Past Trauma ,

Plot Summary :
Killian and Julianna are finally going to have the ending that should have been theirs all along. Heartache and tragedy had separated these two for years and they had finally found their way back to each other. And now, it was time for a redo!

Overall Opinion :
Only this author can give me a second chance tale with so much heartbreak in such a small novella. Lylah James completely destroyed me! I wanted to meet Spencer so bad again and am glad to say that he and julianna finally got the ending they deserved.

The whole book was like another short take about these two characters. There were happy moments but the author also have us a tragedy that had me blinking back tears for these broken people. I absolutely loved the ending! It was everything my heart desired and so much more.

I would highly recommend this book to all the Killian and Julianna fans out there. There is no way you guys can miss this epilogue novella which concludes one of my top reads of all time in such a marvelous way!

How is he the president of the united states? I can’t 😂 He is so not emotionally stable to be the president. Oh wait, i forgot our current affair…….

But for real, he is possessive, has attachment issues to his wife which i love him for. But, him being the President put me out of the story

This was disappointing. And I'm so unhappy right now!

I loved A Vow of Hate, mainly because of Arabella and Elias, but I did love Julianna's story too. But this book seemed like it was written for fans by a fan. It felt so underdeveloped and the writing somehow got worse with each page! I couldn't unsee the amount of "very obvious" grammatical errors in this book! I'm being honest when I say that I'm not great with the English language because it's not my first language..but for an average person like myself, the amount of "very obvious" errors in this book was way too noticeable! It almost felt like this book skipped the editing process and got released without too much thought!

The ending was sad and I was not exactly happy with how things concluded with Julianna and her family. But damnnn that ending or should I say that "beginning" for Elias and Arabella...like pleassseeee give me their story!!!

Too cheesy. I really think A Vow of Forever is not necessary. Miss James makes it way too sappy and chessy. I do not enjoy it. It makes me cringe, instead.

💭

A vow of forever follows the continuation to Killian's and Julianna's story, after "a vow of hate" conclusion. We get to see them face new struggles and overcome it in the best way possible.

At first you think things are easier now, but c'mon we know Lylah loves drama, hence why she adds unexpected turns that make you suffer until the end. But don't worry, you get to appreciate it after all!!

I can easily say that Julianna and Killian are meant for each other and in this one I fell harder for them as individual characters and as a couple. I'm so proud of their journey and I'm glad they had their well deserved HEA.

Overall, if you loved AVOH, you HAVE to read this novella to conclude their story!

This was such an epic ending for Killian and Julianna. They still had so much chemistry and a beautiful story to unfold. There were several time jumps that allow the reader to take a deeper look into their life and family after the ending of A Vow of Hate. Every scene in this novella was heartbreakingly perfect and matched what we'd seen of the H & h in their first book. I'm sad to be saying goodbye to this couple but at the same time, I have this euphoric warm feeling in my heart because the ending was just absolutely beautiful. And don't even get me started on that epilogue. I wasn't expecting to get so emotional by the time I reached that point in the book. I highly recommend reading this to everyone who loved Killian and Julianna in the previous book.

This is a follow-up extended epilogue to A Vow of Hate. It cannot be read as a standalone.

Extended epilogue to immerse back into the classic romance with a twist of the full-length novel. This gave additional closure on the lives of Julianna and Killian with all the heartbreaking but fated lovers feels. Again, a love story with that classic, historical feel and chemistry proving that devotion can overcome obstacles but may come with sacrifice.

Well.. i'm glad we got an extended epilogue and a look in the future for them.
I still disagree with Julianna's choice from their book unfortunately and i still have a bad taste in my mouth about that whole thing. Like i said in the other book, if she didn't keep the secret for YEARS i would've liked it more. Anyway, i didn't appreciate the sad part's in this novella, give them a damn break LOL. Anyway other than that, all ok, nice.

Writing the review again because gr didn't save it/deleted it like my other reviews and I also didn't write it on my notes beforehand😐

TW: miscarriage

A Vow of Forever is a novella that told the continuation of Killian and Julianna's story. Eventhough this novella is short, I'm still excited to jump into killianjulianna world again. Lylah managed to capture everything in this one imo, every happy, sweet, sad and heartbreaking moments but still keeping it real. I like that it's perfectly balanced. So glad that I got the chance to read this early.

Also the epilogue omfg who would've thought??? I absolutely love it! Lylah is so evil for that because now I want to read about Elias and Arabella. 😳

The wedding and the new vows were so sweet and start chapters were so cute... but the last chapters were so sad and painful and so damn unnecessary LIKE WHY? I just couldn't get why we needed more pain when they already had plenty of it 😭

When Lylah announced this novella, I was more than ready to have my heart broken all over again.
Killian and Julianna’s story is so tragic, heartbreaking but also so beautiful and romantic and that’s exactly what this novella was.

This was a good read to get back to these two. I really liked to read more of their happily ever after and I loved the epilogue.

Well first of all a thousand thanks to Lylah for sending me the copy of her book 📖. For me it was a pleasure to read it, having a little more of Julianna and Killian was wonderful.

If you haven't read “A Vow Of Hate” yet (what are you waiting for?) Everything you will read next is spoilers, so read at your own risk. This is a novel (extended epilogue) of this story, so you have to read the first book 📖.

Well I loved the book, I just loved it, having a little more of them was incredible. Seeing a little more of his life and how things were after the baby, our cute Cameron. Seeing if Killian continues with his dream of reaching the presidency and how does all this affect Julianna. All those doubts we had after the first book so to go seeing a little more of all that is wonderful. I completely loved the book, it is that more than like every reader I always want from my favorite characters, it is to have that after and seeing them in that other stage together is beautiful.

And I can tell you that I cried a lot in this book. Lylah knew how to play with my emotions and made me feel the pain of her characters. It hit a lot on a personal level because, I went through something similar and it was to relive all this a little, I will not tell you what this scene caused all that in me, because that is a spoiler. I will only say that although I cried I loved it. It was a book that I enjoyed, it made me feel, get emotional and cry, but that in the end I was left with the feeling that I still needed more, of wanting more of them, of not wanting to say goodbye to the characters yet.

The epilogue surprised me and left me with a smile and a feeling of happiness.

I just loved it ♥️🤧 and if you read “A Vow Of Hate” you have to read this to fall a little more in love with Killian and enjoy this beautiful story more.

Spanish.

I read the first book ages ago. Forgot where the story ended, but was able to quickly catch up with it!!

I live for the angst and drama that they went through 😭

Seeing the struggles and conflicts they overcome was honestly beautiful ❤️‍🩹 But I wish we got to see more of them as a family. The smut chapters were, in my opinion, unnecessary. Like it's a novella, I expect cute children and family life 😒

Julianna was so stupid and made me so mad. She would read the comments they left of her online even tho she knew it was her trigger and not telling Killian about the risks of her being pregnant wirh triplets like did she not learn anything from lying to him. I preferred the ending in the first book and do not recommend this.

Soy muy fan de los epílogos extendidos. Y de todos sus momentos cursis que suelen tener.

Pero este no le vi mucho sentido. Perdon. Pero no. Tanto killian como julianna sufren todo el epílogo. No le vi sentido.

I loved this!! It was so great seeing them as a happy couple and family. Killian is much more lovable in this one and Juliana just seemed so happy. The ending was devastating, but also it could have been worse. The epilogue was interesting, so I cant wait to read the next book!

Julianna and Killian’s story in Vow of Hate wasn’t easy- it was chaotic, painful, viscerally emotive, and beautifully imperfect- but one that consumed me completely. And, so any little taste of their post-drama bliss is music to my ears, a further balm to wounds inflicted on my heart from their full length story. But, alas, how could I forget- this is Lylah James- and even though this is the “post-HEA” novella, Lylah is going to bring all the feels, all the angst, and loads of drama. And despite this being a short novella- we have it in heaps.

Somehow in such few pages Lylah gives us such a vast array of emotions. I swooned and sighed with the charming and romantic overtures I got to experience- awwing at the endearing and profound way these two have grown, reveling in the sweet and sincere vulnerability they have with each other now. Watching them fall deeper in love, co-existing in a healthy and stable relationship free of hate was such a sweet treat. But within these pages, we also have surprising heartbreak, a bittersweet tinge to their beautiful aftermath. I found myself moved to tears- happy in places, devastated in others. But, like their story before, this is a love story that blossoms and matures in the face of life’s uglier manifestations, and their connection somehow keeps evolving, growing more stable and more immersive with every hurdle they face.

If you swooned over Killian in the full length novel, brace yourselves- he’s a total possessive and protective dreamboat here. A besotted and devoted Killian is an irresistible one- I AM SO IN LOVE. And I loved getting the chance to see Julianna continue to find herself, and to find a pathway to being Killians true partner.

This novella is the perfect tribute to the magic that Lylah created with this couple- and, like most novellas, left me desperate for even more. I could play in the minds of these characters everyday, but they deserve their peace, a peace hardfought. What an epic and beautiful love story.
