The first comprehensive study of this major Canadian author to be informed by feminist critical theory. Dr. Rigney examines Atwood's poetry, fiction and critical essays, as well as her artistic and political views, and affirms their relevance within a feminist context.
A good general overview, with insightful readings and an attempt to bridge Atwood's poetry and prose, which is more rarely seen nowadays. This is of course because nowadays that involves a truly enormous body of work. Of course, this study has been superseded by subsequent work on some of the critical issues it deals with.
