Cameron D. Garriepy attended a small Vermont college in a town very like Thornton. She's missed it since the day she packed up her Subaru and drove off into the real world. Some might say she created the fictional village as wish fulfillment, and they would be correct.

She is the author of the Thornton Vermont series, and the founder of Bannerwing Books, a co-op of independent authors. Prior to Bannerwing, Cameron was an editor at Write on Edge, where she curated three volumes of the online writing group's literary anthology, Precipice. Cameron appeared in the inaugural cast of Listen to Your Mother - Boston, and irregularly contributed flash fiction to the Word Count Podcast.

Since her time at Middlebury College, Cameron has worked as a nanny, a pastry cook, an event ticket resale specialist, an office manager, and a content writer. In her spare time, she cooks, gardens, knits, reads avidly, and researches hobby farming. She writes from the greater Boston area, where she lives with her husband, son, a pug puppy, and four hens.

After reading and enjoying all the books in Cameron Garriepy’s ‘Thornton Vermont’ series, I don’t know how I managed to miss the launch in 2021 of her ‘Green Mountain Hearts’ trilogy. But somehow I did. It’s time I put that right.
Although the location of Garriepy’s new series is different from that of the ‘Thornton Vermont’ collection, we are once again in a picture-perfect setting: in this case, the dozing village of Blueberry Hill, Vermont. There we find Marnie Burnham – who, incidentally, is the daughter of the local witch – coming up against developer Micah Reynolds over the fate of Grange Hall. Maybe a spot of unplanned magic will resolve matters?
“Marnie woke up in someone else’s bed with a jackhammer inside her skull, wearing someone else’s boxers and a UVM tee shirt. The sheets smelled clean, and the room was familiar, but she couldn’t quite place it.”
As I’ve found with this author’s previous books, the writing is charming and carries you along effortlessly, and there is a good deal of quiet wit at work too, as well as some saucy stuff (post-sex waffles are pretty good, apparently). So take a dip into this feel-good novella, put your feet up and chill.

Trying to turn a Grange lease into a forward looking business opportunity for her hometown is an effort that Marnie finds far more complicated than expected

A decent young man working for corporate raiders with some shady tactics works to help

A jealous enemy from her school days and complications with her Viking raider almost cost Marnie and the town everything

A bittersweet love story

This is the 4th book I've read written by Cameron Garriepy; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the first book in the Green Mountain Hearts Series. Marnie is trying to get the boards approval to open her year-round farmer’s market in Grange Hall; Micah wants to acquire Grange Hall for his development firm.

She wants the hall so she can bring her farmers market up and running but he wants it as well for very different idea. They are about to but heads as they both intend to win. It seems she may just win something else as well, his heart. Will he lose his heart? Will she win it? See how this tale will end

An interesting storyline that grabs your imagination in the first pages. The characters were also typical small town people that have a deep love for their community and really want to embrace its uniqueness and not fall prey to a large corporate buyout that will bring a large motel change (albeit with job opportunities). Marnie just wants to continuing to live in her small town and plump up the economy with a permanent "farmer's market" for all the locals and those in the outlying areas. A good story.

I received an ARC copy of this book and this my voluntary and honest review. VICKI FROM WYOMING

Very short book/novella at 81 pages. The story didn't end so much as just stop. Rather than the expected continuation of the story or at least an epilog, the balance of the book consisted of excerpts of other books. 2.5 stars

AMBITIOUS HEART

After a century, the Blueberry Hill, Vermont, Grange Hall will be available for public use, all Marnie needs is the board of selectmen’s approval and she can bring her year-round, indoor farmer’s market concept to life, right in the heart of her sleepy village. She might be the daughter of the local witch, but she’s got her feet firmly planted in her community.

Micah Reynolds has one task: acquire the Grange Hall, by fair means or foul, for his commercial development firm.

UNBOUND HEART

Samantha Ellis is looking for a fresh start. What she finds is a second chance.

After escaping a nightmare marriage, Samantha followed her heart home to Blueberry Hill, Vermont. When she accepted an offer to babysit her young cousins for a week, she never dreamed she’d be bunking with the long-lost– unrequited–love of her life.

Will Dryer never stopped thinking about Sam Ellis, even after they both left their hometown behind. Finding her again in Blueberry Hill after all these years just feels right, but Sam is hurting, and her old life in New Orleans still holds her captive.

Her ex-mother-in-law’s arrival in town awakens strange feelings in Sam–something that feels a lot like magic. Something she must embrace before she can give Will her unbound heart.

TROUBADOUR HEART

Cat Brodey wants to be seen for who she is. Trouble is, she doesn’t know who that is.

Cat is having visions and making questionable decisions. Her beloved Meemaw's passing leaves her with a legacy that questions everything she thought she knew about herself, and the answers lie in Blueberry Hill, Vermont. With nothing to tie her to home, Cat sets out to find those answers.

Ash Reynolds preferred a little bit of fame to the moment of true stardom he’s currently stuck in. In the weeks surrounding his brother’s wedding, he’s looking forward to a few weeks of quiet in the town he’s adopted as his own, not meeting a woman who has no idea who he is–a woman with secrets in her eyes and a smile like morning sunshine.

Cat and Ash’s trajectories collide for one incredible night, but Cat isn’t ready to face the morning. She’s seeking answers in Blueberry Hill, but what she finds is the magic of Ash’s troubadour heart.
