Rate this book

Neale Donald Walsch is a modern day spiritual messenger whose words continue to touch the world in profound ways. With an early interest in religion and a deeply felt connection to spirituality, Neale spent the majority of his life thriving professionally, yet searching for spiritual meaning before beginning his now famous conversation with God. His With God series of books has been translated into 34 languages, touching millions of lives and inspiring important changes in their day-to-day lives.

In addition to authoring the renowned With God series, Neale has published 16 other works, as well as a number of video and audio programs. Available throughout the world, each of the CwG dialogue books has made the New York Times Bestseller list, Conversations with God-Book 1 occupying that list for over two and half years.

The With God Series has redefined God and shifted spiritual paradigms around the globe. In order to deal with the enormous response to his writings, Neale created the Conversations with God Foundation, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to inspiring the world to help itself move from violence to peace, from confusion to clarity, and from anger to love.

Neale's work has taken him from the steps of Macchu Picchu in Peru to the steps of the Shinto shrines of Japan, from Red Square in Moscow to St. Peters Square in Vatican City to Tiananmen Square in China. And everywhere he has gone-from South Africa to Norway, Croatia to The Netherlands, the streets of Zurich to the streets of Seoul, Neale has found a hunger among the people to find a new way to live, at last, in peace and harmony, and he has sought to bring people a new understanding of life and of God which would allow them to experience that."

When I was younger (4 or 5) my aunt gave me this book. When I first read this book, I didn't understand it, but I was captivated by the illustrations. As I've grown up and matured this book had grow with me. At the tender age of 17 I can pick this book and it still brings me to tears. It helps remind me of the power of innocence and the importance and strength required to forgive.

NOT just for kids!!! I have taught this book to adult congregations in talks on forgiveness. When people have struggled with letting go of resentments, this simple tale gives them a point of view that allows them to heal and forgive and even shift into feeling grateful for everyone who ever hurt them. Powerful book!

Excellent book for introducing spirituality to children. I found myself crying and recalling that yes, I am the light... sometimes, it is easy to forget... wonderfully poignant and well written

Echt tolles Buch!

This book made me rethink my attitude toward those who commit acts of cruelty and injustice. The Little Soul and the Sun, written by Neale Donald Walsch and illustrated by Frank Riccio, tells the story of a little disincarnate soul who wants to experience the act of forgiving when she incarnates. But since everything the Creator made was perfect, there would be no one to forgive. So another little disincarnate soul offers to incarnate with her and do something really terrible, in order for her friend to experience forgiving. When asked why she would be willing to behave despicably, the friend replies, “I would do it because I love you.”

I’ve owned this book since its publication in 1998 and have reread it many times over the years. The recent chaos and unrest in the United States and around the world has moved me to read it once again. And my heart soared. There are many ways to respond to heartless injustice and despicable acts of cruelty. We can react in anger, close and fill our hearts with hatred, and forget who we truly are. Or we can keep our hearts open, move into gratitude, rise above the chaos, and engage in meaningful nonviolent action in an attempt to right the wrong.

If in fact we do make contracts with the Creator and other souls before we incarnate, everything that plays out here on Mother Earth is a lesson we chose to learn and an experience we wished to have. Both the act of cruelty and the remedial action are opportunities for growth. If the contract involves two-way action, then the remedial action must be carried out, lest the contract become null and void.

This book touches me deeply every time I read it. I think it no accident that it’s beautifully illustrated and designed as a children’s book; for in order to change attitudes and behavior cultivated over a lifetime, we must speak to the child within. I am grateful to Mr. Walsch and Mr. Riccio for the enlightening pearl of wisdom they have given us ❤

This book helps you and your child to understand your Divine Life Purpose, and why we create the karmic issues in our lives. Beautifully written. A great gift to pass on to every generation.

Lovely illustrations, but the story, apparently written for children, seemed way too deep. I will have to think about it a lot more to even understand if I agree with it. But it's a beautiful book, and I know children will appreciate the colors and pictures. And I have to admit, the Little Soul is pretty endearing!

5+ stars… A MUST READ! This is a wonderful powerful story about how we are still one with God. I DON’T think there should be an age limit put on this from 6-12. I feel this book would be enjoyed by everyone whether you’re young or old.

Such a beautiful story. At this point in my life I am choosing to see everything from a perspective that feels good and that resonates with a truth deep within me. This book certainly helped me with that. I am so thankful that this book showed up when it did.

My heart sank as the interminable bludgeoning leitmotif knell exhortation of forgiveness was raised again…
Instead it turned out to be a restoration from Christianity’s majority distorted interpretation of it to its rightful true self. While cognitively I have long known _____ was a gift to me, as Buddhists might say, my finest guru, I had failed to internalise this, they remaining as @&$!# to me. With this reclaim/framing I have finally emotionally realised how blessed I have been to have them in my life. Do I love them? Thank-you to them.

I actually bought this book for my niece, so I was really surprised how profoundly meaningful and healing it was for me. We suffered a traumatic murder in my family when I was a teenager, and this book helped my soul finally find peace and forgiveness, over a decade later. I have given this book to several people over the years when they are struggling with unbearable emotional pain. It really helps heal hearts & souls.

A friend introduced me to this quick little read after I'd told her I was reading Conversations with God. She was super-sweet and read it to me like a bedtime story. I enjoyed the illustrations and the overall message which I took to be - treat everyone around you with love.

If I had kids I wouldn't hesitate to read this to them.

Simple yet deep

Regardless of how old we are the question about the existence of opposites throughout our lives bubbles up, especially when we are in pain and wishing we were free of it. Why? Well read this book.

I was recommended this book by my aunt and even though it’s a kids book, it was everything I needed to hear & remind myself of. You don’t have to be religious to appreciate and apply the message of this.

Such a great children's book and parable!! If I ever have a child this will be a must read to them. It's a message that I would want them to hear and try to understand, even from a young age.
