Warped
Warped. Man, what a crazy ride this book is. I enjoy all of the authors work, but Warped really blew me away. This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I was just wanting to get through it as quickly as possible because I need to see what happens, but also wanted to savor it and make it last longer. It was so good. Emma really created a wonderfully twisted world that I can't get enough of! I am eager for more.

If I thought the first book was bad (and by bad, I mean so f___ing amazing that I couldn't function until I finished reading it), then I was no less screwed when I picked up book two. I was completely lost in this story. It was so hopeless, so dark, and so despairing. Then, every once in a while there would be a sliver of hope, a light in the dark. Just enough to keep me hanging on, from slipping into the darkness with Whisper.
Poor Whisper. Hasn't she been through enough? She can't deserve this life she's been given. One thing is for sure though, Edge is definitely working hard to deserve her, despite his past sins.
One of Emma James' best skills is her multiple point of views. She weaves the tale in and out and around so many characters, all while carefully counting stitches. It's like a fine lace pattern. You count the stitches and follow the pattern, while you weave the thread around and around, not knowing what it's going to look like, just trusting that it will come out beautifully in the end. Oh, does it come out beautifully. Finished and blocked and lain out to dry, the shape and delicacy is suddenly on display and absolutely magnificent. It leaves you wondering how such a magnificent finished piece can come from tangled threads.
There are so many great characters to admire, and to fall in love with. So much character growth, and so many secrets slowly revealing themselves. I found myself distraught when it ended, begging for more. I cannot wait for the next installment. This was absolutely ALL THE STARS! ~ George, 5 stars

My body is full of goose bumps, my insides are twisting and my mind is yelling at the book. This, is my body’s response to this tale.
Whisper is a beautiful women who has experienced hell. Now, there is only more pain to come. No women deserves her history and future.
Edge is a hard, dangerous and possessive man who has taken a promise to Miss Catherine and himself, that he will rescue Whisper.
Will Edge save Whisper is the million dollar question.
This book is an extreme page turner. It is full of bad guys doing what they do best and good guys taken down but with a determination to beat the villains at their own games.
The story will leave you thinking about it for hours and days afterwards.
Beware this story is dark and the ending isn’t in this book. But boy has Emma James out done herself and mastered this dark story leaving you begging for more.
This is an extremely recommended read.

Must read Wrenched before reading Warped.
This series will not be a disappointment and is one of my favorite MC Series out there.
Emma James is an author that I love to read because not many authors can pull off the multiple POVs and she does it so we are never guessing what the other people are thinking during the scenes.

The journey continues, in this intense and addictive sequel.
Warped is book two in Emma James’ Hell’s Bastards series, it is highly recommended that book one Wrenched is read before attempting to read this book. As it continues on where it left of with Whisper being kidnapped and Edge trying to find her.

I love this authors style of writing and her ability to give us multiple POV’s without it being over the top. To follow each characters experiences is a enjoyable journey. We follow Whisper after she’s been shot, kidnapped, beaten and transported away, while she struggles to get free from her lastest capture. The hardship, struggle and self hatred we witness Edge go through while he and Miss Catherine try to find and rescue Whisper is heartbreaking. Boxer and Lincoln fight for their lives after being taken and held captive without anyway of escaping. This book is jammed packed with action, suspense, angst, drama, it’s intense, dark, unpredictable and will have you in the edge of your seat. We are introduced to new characters that may be just be the twist to the plot thickening.
Whisper is a beautiful soul who has experienced hell. She was held by one monster to escape, only to just end up being held against her will by a different monster. But this time it’s so much worse, she has loved ones and has had freedom.
Edge is a hard, ruthless, dangerous loyal, possessive and is willing to do whatever it takes to find his sweet innocent woman. Edge makes a promise to Miss Catherine to bring back Whisper and he is going to keep that.
I feel so invested in this story in all the characters and am on the edge on my seat, biting my nails in anticipation, whilst screaming at my reader for something’s to stop.
This book ends on a cliffhanger once again, so make sure you have Contorted book three ready so you can jump right in and follow what’s going to happen next.

Warped by Emma James is BRILLIANT!
INTENSE...DARK...UNPREDICTABLE...CONSUMING... IT IS UNDENIABLY WARPED !
OMG... I don't know what to say... this book blew me away! The moment I opened Warped, I was expecting a recap of Wrenched before the second part of this story progressed. Rather than getting a recap, the reader is drawn into the the mind of Cezar Pavel. Cezar is the master of the brutal game that controls Whispers fate.
The introduction of Cezar Pavel is gut wrenching. The man is truly warped in every sense. He has no conscience. He has no fear. He has complete power and wields it with cruelty and brutality. He is not a player in the game, he is the ruler of the game. He leaves no room for chance. He is the king. He is the master of the game.
The players of this game have no idea who Cezar Pavel is. They have no idea of his connection to Whisper or his obsession with her. They have no idea of how far his reach is or to what lengths he will go to exert his will. They are operating blindly in a deadly game where time is at the utmost importance.
After Edge learns the truth about Whisper's involvement in his father's life he has more than regrets. She was an innocent woman, a victim. He shot her in cold blood and enabled her captors to easily take her. He should of known his father was reaching beyond the grave to destroy both his and Whisper's lives. Although he's not surprised by his father's cruelty beyond the grave, he doesn't understand the reasons behind the sick game he is playing. There has to be more behind the obvious picture in front of him. His father may have meant for him to kill Whisper, but why? What was he hiding?
Edge was shot in the foot when Whisper was taken. His injuries are putting a kink into finding Whisper. The only thing he has to go on is the fact that Whisper has his phone. The only help he has is an old woman, Miss Catherine, and her instincts. The men that swore to protect Whisper at all costs have gone missing.
With every clue and lead, they are met with death and destruction. The messes left behind leave no clues as to who is behind it all. He has no idea of what he is dealing with. Time is running out and Whisper has been missing for over a week. It's time to call in reinforcements, the Soulless Bastards.
Whisper lived in captivity all her life. She had a taste of freedom. She had a new life with family and friends. She will not become a slave again. She will do everything in her power to survive or she will die before she allows herself to be owned once again. She has to keep her wits and will to survive. It's the only thing she can depend on. Hope is running out.
Can Edge find Whisper before it's too late? Cliffhanger!
I could not put this book down. The plot is extremely complex and the web became more tangled. New characters were introduced and it was impossible to determine where this story would go next. I was on the edge of my seat and biting my nails. The intensity level was through the roof. It added more kinks to the overall story and made it become more intensified. I can't wait to see what comes next. Contorted will release in November of 2016.
Warped was the perfect title and brilliant addition to the Hell's Bastard series by Emma James.

Whisper thought that she was finally free and finally be able to live the life she was meant to live. She met Edge and had her first one night stand.
But then everything went to Hell and poor Whisper is back in Hell
Edge made a rash decision about Whisper and now he is determined to save her. But if he finds her what will he find.
And who exactly is Mathias????
So many questions so little answers
I love the characters in this book, especially Miss Catherine. What a bad ass old lady with her talking bones...lol
Definitely a book that will keep you guessing and leave you wanting to

Warped is the follow up to Wrenched and doesn’t disappoint, Emma has dug deep with this series and I look forward to the next instalement of Hell’s Bastard series.
The characters have you hooked from the start, love Miss C she is a feisty old girl. Her bones haven’t let her down yet and she trust that Edge will be the same.
Whisper has been to hell and been brought into the light only to find herself back in the arms of hell again. She must call on her inner strength to get her through and hope that her family will come for her.
*Whisper ~ Her clone is his puppet. She has learned to separate her true lost soul and keep that small part for herself when she needs to keep going. *
Edge is one of those who is determined to bring her back and will stop at nothing to succeed.
This book has you hooked from the start and all too soon you’re left wondering what’s going to happen next.

Warped really spreads these characters out and is mostly set-up for the obvious chaos to come. Pretty much every one gets injured in some egregious way, too, which really hyped up the excitement while reading. Not a whole heck of a lot of romance here, but a lot of preposition and action. I do find Edge's voice to be a little jarring - he can sometimes come across as a caricature of who we think he should be as a "badass Enforcer guy". It would be nice to see some more dimension from him. Overall though, I'm excited to keep reading.

After diving into Wrenched, Book#1 in the Hell’s Bastard series, I was immediately sucked into the story and bought Warped, Book#2 right away. The story gets more complex in this book, and a lot of characters come into play. What I like about Emma’s style are the different POV’s she uses. It’s pretty hard to do that, especially if you try to do it for those who are not the main characters in the book, but Emma did a great job here. You read from Miss C’s POV who is the old lady with the funny, southern accent, and who is like a mother to Whisper. Then you read from Edge’s POV who is the cold-hearted killer, son of the man who ruined Whispers entire life with holding her hostage for twenty years, now finding himself trying to rescue the girl he intended to kill in the first place. And then you read from Jonathan Boothe’s POV, the corrupt lawyer who is, if possible, way more evil than William Dupré was. I love how every character has their own angle and agenda. Everyone always has a goal, and it’s always interesting to read who’s going to meet whom next.
Read Book2 in 2 days which is saying something considering I have a full-time job and a part-time job as an author :D Already bought Book3!

I was right the deeper this gets the darker it gets. The first book set us up got us feeling all nice and safe and then the rug is snatched out from under us. This book sets us up further .Giving us an eye into the kidnapping and some of the characters. This is no fly by night organization. It's deeply rooted and has many levels. There are undercover agents trying to bring it down. Boxer and company may not be much help. The person out to kill Whisper becomes her only connection. The urgency to find her is kicked up a notch. Too many people for her to know who to trust. Lost opportunities. Confusing connections. What's real? What's happening? Who can be trusted? Who's running this? Still plenty of questions left when the dust settles if it does. Lots of action and blood. The puppeteer is in complete control. He's taken some of the players out. He's set all the pieces into play. Now to find out who wants Whisper the most. Oh, this is good stuff glad I waited for the entire set before I started reading I can hardly wait to start the next book.

OMG I thought the first book was good and don't get me wrong it was, but this one was even better as the author pulls you deeper into the story, the storylines twists and turns keep you guessing as to what will happen next. This book will have you shouting at the characters yes it is that good, willing the good ones on while cursing the bad guys. The story is dark gritty and very exciting. It is a very well written story of a young woman who is trying desperately to escape the clutches of a Master slave trader, even while hope is fading Whisper tries to keep herself positive that help may still come.

Warped BLEW my mind! I actually turned to my partner when I had finished it and said this is the most f****d up book I have ever read but I LOVE it! This series is brilliant, each book leaves you wanting to immediately pick up the next book and keep reading. This is an incredibly Edgy series, and its not for the faint hearted, its confronting, full of twists and turns and when you think you cant stand to read anymore it pulls you back in with the promise of a happy ending! And then it leaves you hanging for the next book!! But I really cant rate this book highly enough, was better than the first. I cant wait to read Contorted!!!

Here I am again reading another book from author Emma James .
After finishing book one I just had to read the next one in the series.
There are some dreadful people in this world and I can't stop reading about them !
But some use violence as they have had used to them and it becomes their normal until ..........
Some are just sadistic , vicious and brutal and this is what Whisper has to deal with ....
Miss Catherine is a gem, Boxer and Lincoln are precious ...
Edge , well he now has his life changing in such a positive way I know there is a love story here but to get there is traumatic for all and me!

Just when Whisper is beginning to live her life and finally have everything she ever dreamed about, fate plays a cruel joke on her again. Warped is an Understatement!
This is a new genre for me, but the authors writing has me glued to the pages, that I'm up all night reading! Hooked & ready for the next book. The plots dark & twisted but the light is there to keep the reader going, holding your breath one second, screaming the next at what is happening to Whisper! You'll have Edge one second, the next your heart melts!

Wow twisted much! The way I love it 😁
This book was filled with so many mixed emotions and twisted paths that it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more and more. The characters are all amazing in their own ways and all a little broken which makes you love them even more. Can't wait to dive into the next book!❤

Okay, now it's getting really interesting ..
So much going on. I have so many questions. This book was amazing and earns his 5 stars!
I loved and hated reading this book. I wanted to know what would happen next but at the same time I was afraid of the answer.

Decent
I am not against violence or any of the other ungodly things that happen in this book, but because that is basically all that happens here, I did not enjoy this one as much as the first. I will admit that I am intrigued though. I will keep reading because I want to see where all the players fit in and what happens.

Troubling
Jeez what has Whisper got herself into now. We thought since her master was dead her troubles were over but not by a long shot. Edge is on his way to sort out the woman that has stolen his inheritance but what he finds is a whole world of pain.
