Consumed by Love is the first book I’ve read from C.M. Albert and I LOVED this steamy little office romance.

Brynn is out celebrating her birthday, when a Pierce, a handsome and mysterious stranger captures her attention and gives her a weekend that she’ll never forget. It was just supposed to be one weekend and they’d move on with their lives. Brynn never expected to walk into the office and see the man who gave her the best birthday of her life as her new boss.

The chemistry between Brynn and Pierce was OFF THE CHARTS!!! These two were melting the pages from the very first connection and I swear their connection only grew as the story continued. I loved the forbidden aspect of their story, too. I completely devoured their story and loved every single moment.

Consumed by Love will completely consume you with this quick, steamy, forbidden office romance.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series thus far, for me this one was a little more slow going at first than the others but all in all a great read. This is the first time I've read a book by this other and it was good. I feel like it took you on a little bit of a wild ride with lots of emotions, and once it did get going left you wanting to know what would happen next. Highly recommend this series as a whole!

I’ve read all the books in this series and they have all been very satisfying, but this book was deliciously satisfying and so much more! This author is new to my reading world, so I flew in blind (because we all know how good I am about reading blurbs and whatnot (I am not lol)) and what an exhilarating flight it was!

This story was a perfect blend of sexy and emotion. I was honestly stunned at how well it was blended for the length of the story. I was also pleasantly surprised at how invested I was in the storyline. I read a lot. For me, getting invested doesn’t happen often because some storylines I’ve read way too many times. The one-night stand that turns out to be your boss is not new to me. I expected to enjoy myself for a few hours and move on the next book. Yeah, no. I was in it with these characters. My mind and heart were invested. I wanted to be in their circle! And all of it was wrapped up in a seriously sexy cloak from beginning to end. Not only did Brynn and Pierce have spark, but so did their story!

I am so ridiculously impressed with this author right now that I could kick myself for not having read her in the past. I’ve got a couple of her books from her backlist queued up already and I can’t wait to read her release in the Cocky Hero Club universe soon!

I could not help but laugh after the bar scene when Brynn was in her hot tub! I did not expect Noah. What happens when he reaches out to Brynn? How do they know one another? Who is Pierce and where does he come into play? What do we learn about all of these characters? What decision does Brynn ultimately make, or what decision is made for her? What surprises are in store for 'everyone'? Read and see what happens!

I am always a fan of a Forbidden office romance and Consumed by Love was fantastic. This is a quick, steamy read. This is a 5/5 read for me.

Between that news and the fact that she is single on her birthday after a few drinks she ends up spending the weekend with a sexy stranger.

When she goes into work on Monday she finds out that Pierce, the man she spent the weekend with, is actually her new boss and he is determined to convince her that they make the perfect team both personally and professionally and he isn’t about to let anyone or anything come between them.

The chemistry radiates off the pages and Brynn’s indecision is no match for Pierce’s confidence that they are meant to be together.

Good God in heaven what a HOT read this novella was. The instant explosive chemistry was sizzling hot and it made me turn pages with rapid speed to see where it would take our MC's. They both had strong personalities and we're determent not to let their involment affect their jobs. Everything was happening so fast and before I knew it it was all over.

This series is seriously amazing because what else would you name it when this is book 10 and I've yet to read a story I didn't like.

Book 10 in the Written in the Stars series and this was so good and so steamy. Loved Brynn and Pierce. They first met at a bar and the attraction was instant and very intense. Little did they know, that they more the got to know each other the hotter it was going to get. The chemistry between them was so hot. Read this story in one sitting and was smiling, swooning and fanning myself all at the same time. Great read.

This book had me entranced from the first word to the last. I didn’t want to put the book down, and didn’t, except to eat this evening. Then I picked it right back up again.

I lost my reading mojo a few months ago. I’ve literally read 1 book since the beginning of April. You could say that lockdown robbed me of my mojo. I’ve spent the last few weeks, especially the last few days trying to find something I wanted to read.
This beauty landed on my kindle, but I was filled with trepidation, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to give it the attention it deserved. However, I sat down and switched on my kindle to at least try.
I finished it in one sitting—except the half an hour while I was eating—which is a feat in an of itself. Colleen gave me my passion for reading again. Who knows when I’ll pick up my next read or what it will be. But it feels good to have finally gotten to read and love something so much, to completely lose myself in a fictional reality for a while.

So, anyway, on with my review...

There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing this book is, and yet there all too many at the same time. Too many spoilery things that could be said, then you’d know everything before you went in and you don’t want that. You want to be as pleasantly surprised as I was, right?

Then I’ll keep this as spoiler-free as possible.

Brynn and her bestie Lindy make for some serious laugh out loud, giggle snort kind of moments. Lindy is a little loco, but she is seriously the best friend every girl wants.

Brynn is beautiful, smart, strong-willed, talented and much more besides. She’s led by her heart...and her horoscope. She’s pinning her hopes on a promotion, has a strong work ethic and is poised to make some changes in her life.
When out one night with Lindy, she meets a mysterious stranger. Something tells her to guard her heart, but something tells her to cut loose for once. So what’s a girl to do? Follow her head or her heart?

Pierce is an enigma, shrouded in a mystery. When Brynn bumps into him, there’s something so alluring about him.
Could it be his enigmatic character? Could it be his sharp suit, sleek look and soulful eyes? This man can wear a suit, let me tell you. It should be illegal to be as hot as he is!

Things that ensued from beginning to end were deliciously intoxicating, had the potential to make you laugh, to break your heart, to have you wanting to tear your hair out and if you’re like me, maybe you’ll get an urge to throw your kindle at a wall. But I resisted that urge and so should you.

The simple fact is that this book was un-putdownable. Not a word, I know, but that’s what it is.
It drew me in, sucked me under and then tossed my emotions around for a while. I lost my heart to Pierce the moment he stepped onto the page. I adored and admired Brynn from the first encounter with her. I thought that although a little loco, Lindy was the best BFF and I just totally adored the bones of her.
Every character, no matter how awesome or how annoying they were, each played such a great role in this story. I hated Shay, but she’s the only one I was so openly hostile towards. Read the book for yourself and find out why.

What I love about Colleen’s characters is that they are tangible. These are not fictional characters, they’re old friends you feel like you’ve known for years.
Colleen’s characters, whether it’s the hero and heroine, or the secondary cast, are all incredibly written. Even Shay, whom I totally have it in for!
You go on a roller coaster ride with these people. And let me tell you, my favourite secondary character other than Lindy, was Grampa. What a man!

Colleen has a gift with words. She is truly an artist. The page is her canvas.
She lures you in, with promises of the sexy and the sweet. But she gives you so much more besides. Laughs, tears, frustration...you’ll experience it all and then some. And at the end of it, you’ll be glad you did.

This is the only book I’ve read of the Written in The Stars series (like I say, I haven’t been reading for a while) but it won’t remain the only one. I just have to hope that they’re as good as this one, because if there’s one thing Colleen has done here, for me, it’s that’s she’s set the bar really high.

Powerfully intoxicating, a book that dazzles. That’s why I award this book 5 well deserved stars, and also why I’d rate it higher if I could.

Brynn Hartley works as a contemporary romance editor at Sterling and Masters, and someone new has been brought in temporarily to be the boss, while the real boss is on maternity leave. The job is one that Brynn had hoped to snag, but faces disappointment when it goes to an outsider. After the disappointing news, she and her best friend decide to head to the bottom floor of their office building to have a couple of drinks, where Brynn runs into a dark-haired handsome man. She runs into him again the following evening at a gala, and this time they end up together and they spend the rest of the weekend together. Brynn discovers that her weekend hookup is actually her new boss.

This story flows well. There are a few awkward moments throughout the course of the story, but most of it flows smoothly and at a good pace. Brynn believes in reading her horoscope each day, so she isn’t totally surprised when she meets Pierce Abrams at both the bar and at the gala. What does surprise her is when her childhood friend and former crush returns to her orbit. Pierce and Noah both behave like adults in every one of their interactions, which makes them each more likeable as characters. Brynn has some thinking to do, and her decision seems to get clearer in a natural way.

Warning: Turn the air conditioner on high when you read this, or at least have a fan nearby. There are some scorching scenes in this book, so be prepared…

Brynn and Pierce's story is an amazing story by C.M. Albert. In fact her best one to date. Not many writers can create a strong storyline amongst graphic sex scenes but Colleen Albert has done brilliantly with this one. Both characters have such dynamic personalities and sizzle when they do come together in more ways than one. Ms Albert has come along way from writing her first book and has grown in herself as an award winning writer. Enjoy her books and let the stars take over your heart. They have mine.

Peirce and Brynn had a chemistry that strong when they first bumped into each other in the bar. The more they saw each the stronger their chemistry got. Then came Noah, boy next door time. Brynn's mind just like a Scorpio had so many decisions to make that only her heart could truly make. Their love and sex was quick, fast and hurry, but will last a lifetime. This book was perfect, I could not put it down, it hooked me the first second within the story, just like the other Written in the Stars series.

Wow! I usually go into my books blind. After reading the previous books in the series, I was so not expecting to be reading what I did. I felt like I was in Pierce's sauna the whole time I was reading. Hot and steamy and definitely fit the category of books that Brynn represented, with a little love triangle and some forbidden elements to it. This one basically had it all, even the more sweet moments I was expecting.

This book is part of a series Written in the Stars, though it reads as a standalone.
What can I say – I loved this book. C.M. Albert is one of my favorite authors and this story is a perfect example of her writing skills. She will have the reader going through all the emotions: lust, laughter, sadness, angrier, and love along with the characters. Those giddy feelings of a new romance along with the longing of an old romance.
The character development and relationships between friends, lovers and family are written in depth, this book is not just about sex. The plot is well thought out and the characters are well rounded with their idiosyncrasies, the interactions between all the characters will draw you into the story from the beginning to the very end.

Brynn has worked hard to get where she is in the business world. She loves her life her friends, but is a bit upset over a decision at the office. She decides to take up an offer of a night of fun and sex. With a hot guy, why not?

Pierce is not only a hot guy in bed, but he also happens to be a very smart and shrewd businessman.

Nolan brings a proposition to Brynn’s business as well as rekindling a childhood romance.

Who will she choose? What is written in the stars?

Yes, there is some kink and steamy sex (which were amazing). If those topics aren’t your cup of tea, please pass.

I hadn't even started reading the story when the dedication already had me crying. It's touching and hit me in the heart!

CM broke me. I smiled, I blushed, I about combusted from the heat of this story. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to give too much info out but up to the very end I was still not sure which way Brynn would go but I was hoping for a specific outcome. In the end my heart was happy and sad at the same time and I cried.

She has a way of mixing the kink with heart-warming stories and this one was one with star-filled messages that had my heart beating double time. I want to say so much because I just couldn't get enough of this.

I want to be like Brynn when I grow up. She doesn’t lie or sugar coat things and stands up for herself and knows what she wants and says so. She’s no-nonsense and loyal and sweet but don’t cross her. I wasn’t only invested in Pierce, Brynn and Noah however but the other characters as well and now I am hoping they all get their own story. I would have loved an epilogue however because like I said, I want more of these characters.

The heat and chemistry here was amazing but it’s also about the story and the message. Some things are written in the stars.

This is the first novel I have read by C.M. Albert and this book was so sexy! I love reading the Written in the Stars series. These books are not only very good, but they are also allowing me to find all these great new authors! book is part of the Written in the Stars Series. This series is 12 zodiac signs, 12 authors, and 12 sexy, deeply romantic novellas. Albert’s book is the zodiac sign Scorpio.

I’ll never understand how authors can fit so much intensity and passion into these short novellas, but Albert does that and more. This is the story of Brynn and Pierce. Brynn is an editor and on the fast track to becoming the department head when her boss leaves on maternity leave. Enter Pierce: the sex-in-a-suit man who makes her birthday a night she can’t forget. He pushes her limits and exposes her in a way no man ever has. Will Pierce elevate her career and her sexual awareness, or will he be the downfall of not only her career but the effect of her opening her heart.

This is the tenth book in the Written in the Stars series and it is one spicy addition. Close to her birthday, Brynn gets her horoscope which has her slated for some new and exciting surprises. Unfortunately, she does not get the promotion that she was vying for when her boss goes out on maternity leave but interestingly enough, a portion of the advice comes to fruition when she meets a stranger with piercing midnight blue eyes. From the moment these two meet, there is an instant attraction and their chemistry is palpable. This is one steamy read with some added zing to give the insta-love factor more punch that will keep you entertained from start to finish. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

Brynn’s boss is going out on maternity leave. Brynn wants to fill the position while her boss is out on leave. When her boss announces she hired someone from outside the company, Brynn is less than pleased. To blow off some steam, she goes to the bar with her bestie only to meet a hot guy. When she runs into him again the next night, she throws caution to the wind with him. Then he shows up at work and sends her into a tailspin.
Opinion
I live in the Charlotte region and was absolutely thrilled to have read about my home. The story itself is absolutely lovely. The trust and desire the two MCs feel for each other instantly is palpable. The plot is realistic yet mesmerizing. This novella is a treat for romance fans.

Brynn runs into a mysterious stranger, Pierce, at the bar one night and the next night runs into him again as she is celebrating her birthday at a work gala. She decides to have a one-night stand with Pierce but their attraction is so intense it doesn't stop there. They also face challenges as it turns out he is also her new boss which brings a whole new challenge as they navigate their personal relationship and work relationship.

This is my 2nd book I’ve read by CM Albert and she doesn’t disappoint. Not only is it passionate AF, but it’s solid plot with conflict and likeable characters that you find yourself rooting for. All 3 of them! So much packed into this little novella. Highly recommend!!
