Can this Capricorn overcome her natural tendencies and find love?

Sutton Sterling is proudly practical. Sure, she may be a stubborn workaholic served up with a dash of pessimism, but Sutton knows what’s important and she won’t stop until she reaches her goal. She doesn’t have time to search for the roses between the thorns of potential relationships.

Until her horoscope points toward taking a chance on love.

Baker Hayes knows the number one rule: no dating a co-worker. A rule he’s never been tempted to break until Sutton.

Will Sutton let her horoscope decide her future or will Baker help her see that love is better left to chance?

Book 12 in the Written in the Stars series and my first book from this author and I really enjoyed it. Baker and Sutton were cute together. She has been writing a blog about her love life and her attraction to Baker but never acted on it. They were coworkers and friends after all. It was fun to read about her dates. They always made me chuckle. The time she spent with Baker was completely different. Great chemistry between them. Loved them as a couple. Great read.

Sutton Sterling works a lot and hasn't found her Mr. Right, she has someone she wants but since she works for her Dad's company and he has a no staff fraternization policy, it means he is off-limits. Sutton loves four things - horoscopes, cupcakes and cocktails, and blogging. Combine those things and you have her blog "Capricorn, Cocktails, and Cupcakes". She blogs about her life, Chicago, and how hard it is as a single woman. When she reads her latest horoscope, it talks about going out and taking the leap, being bold, and finding her love. This leads Sutton to a series of online dating profiles and several dates with different guys whom she retells her experiences on her blog which she is about to discover the guy of her dreams reads it - Baker Hayes. Baker works at her Dad's company and is the guy of her dreams. Can Baker talk Sutton into finally having a date with him despite her rules to please her father whom she is about to realize, she should never let control her life? Crashing into Love by Hollis Wynn was a quick read with an insta-love HEA and shows readers that we should all be like Capricorns and be brave and go for what we want and also sometimes Mr. Right is standing well --- right in front of us all. I have read quite a few of the Written in the Stars Novellas and looking forward to going back and reading the few I have missed in-between numbers. The HEA novella series for those who love horoscopes and true love.

One of my favorite in this series! I have read every book and I don’t think any of them drew me in as much as this one. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve all been good reads, but there was something about Sutton that affected me. I could not get enough of her and her growth in this story was stupid good. She flowered before my eyes. It was just splendid! She stole the show for sure, and I think that was on purpose. I’m not going to go into details, but the author did a really great job of using this book to maybe be a bridge to more books, so the ending may seem kinda sorta hmmmmm. Maybe.

Anywho, back to the book. I loved the choices the author made for every aspect of this book! The banter and wit gave the story just the right amount of fluff it needed. The chemistry sparked for not only the story but our couple. I loved the choice of them being friends and moving to more in a slow burn path. This whole book was great guys. It’s a feel good story that I enjoyed. I will say one tiny thing that maybe was not a highlight for me and that’s the length of the book. There was a good chunk in the middle that honestly could have been maybe condensed a bit but that’s just an opinion on my dislikes/likes, it by no means lessens the greatness of the story as a whole. I was never bored nor did I ever skim :) so go forth and enjoy!

4.5 round to 5 STARS!

Sutton has been attracted to her co-worker and friend Baker for a while but believes if all they can be for a number of reasons. Not only does she manage her father’s office, but she also writes a blog detailing the ups and down of being a single woman who is trying to find love.

Baker has been waiting for the right opportunity to declare his feelings for Sutton and once he sees her blog he knows the time is now. He is determined to show her that with him she can follow her dreams and have love.

The characters are intriguing and the interactions between them are both humorous and hot.

This is the Capricorn sign book. It is a great read. Full of romance, or at least trying to find romance, with a crush and then being crashed by love.
There is a lot of suspense vibes. Makes you wonder what will happen next.

If you have read anything by Hollis Wynn before, let me start by saying this book is different, a good different. Hollis really pushed herself with this story. . . And it has potential for more books to come. I would rate it 4.5 stars but its not an option, so I round up to 5!

Sutton is the absolute star of this novella! Capricorn through and through, she shows us what a lot of women go through! She grows before our eyes! Learning from her past and deciding what she wants for the future, all while trying new things in life . . . Hence the blog and online dating drama. . . Some of my favorite parts!!! I found Sutton to be super relatable and loved it all from her point of view.

Then there are 3 Mikes that make for some interesting dates and the fellow co-worker, Baker, that is the perfect gentleman who Sutton has a long standing crush on. I wish I knew more about him, but as I said before, this novella was about Sutton. And if you keep that in mind, then this book will keep you entertained and desiring to bake and make pairings with wine.

Now here is the part that left me hanging, deducting half a star . . . The end. Yep the end is a bit vague when it comes to parts of the story line that was intentionally left open. I get it, and I am OK with it because I know I will be waiting and ready to read more that stems from this book and the characters that are introduced. . . Cough cough Soren and Lake. . . But you still get to find out what happens with Sutton and Baker and you get to have your HEA . . . Its just not all wrapped up in fancy paper with a golden bow, but definitely worth the read.

I found myself feeling completely invested in the story of Sutton, probably because I felt like I KNEW her. I took my time to read and really enjoy the story that had heat, wit, and sarcasm galore. I loved the blog, which also sparked the desire to create a new book club that includes wine and cupcakes. . . You will understand, once you read it. So overall, its a great read and definitely fits in the WITS series! Don't let me deter you from taking a chance on this novella, because you will miss out on one of my favorite main characters . . . Sutton!

Baker Hayes is a good guy. From the start of this story, he comes across as genuine and decent. He takes the time to really get to know Sutton Sterling. He knows how she takes her coffee, he knows her family, and he knows her quirks and insecurities. They have been friends for years, as Baker works for her father’s company. Sutton works there as well, but is often taken for granted by everyone except Baker. She has had a crush on him for years—since before she was legal! They are both older and wiser now, and Sutton has grown into a strong woman who knows how to take charge of the men in the office. Her father runs an investigation firm, and Baker is one of the main investigators, while Sutton writes a blog post sometimes, where she talks about her dating life and other things. She also is part of a book club that reads sexy romance novels, and she has a close-knit group of friends.

There are some really fun aspects to this book. One of the best parts about it is how attentive Baker is to Sutton once he decides to pursue her. They are both frightened of taking the risk because they have such a great friendship, but Baker gives her a safe place to land and takes away much of her fear. And as Sutton feels safer in the relationship, she begins to really trust Baker. While she is finding her way to Baker, she dates three Mikes. There was one incongruous part where she has sex with one of the Mikes. It is just one sentence, and there is no build up or lead in to it, she just states that she had sex with one of the Mikes after a date. It just seemed so out of character for the way she is portrayed in the book, that it was hard to reconcile this because she had been celibate for a year beforehand, which implies that she is discriminating. Other than that, the book was a very smooth read and it flowed nicely. The tension is pretty low-level for most of the book, but it does pick up in a few places. The dialogue sounds pretty natural and the book club seems super fun! If only it were real!! The story wraps up fairly quickly, and has a nice ending.

Sutton works for her disapproving father. Baker also works for him. The unofficial policy is no relationships at work. That doesn’t stop either of them for crushing on the other.
Baker gas an account that is giving him pause and Sutton’s father is making her question the family dynamic. Together, they try to help each other.
Opinion
I thought that Baker was hunky but a bit slow on making a move. He had no problems kissing her but was back to work mode the next day. Sutton was, to some extent, a walking contradiction. She seemed to eat cupcakes and drink daily but was in good shape. (Yes, she worked out but in reality, no way.). She loves high heels but can be clumsy. She works for her dad but resents him. I don’t know. I enjoyed the character but she was a bit inconsistent.
The plot was a bit slow in parts. The beginning and end were paced fine. The middle? It seemed to drag for a bit. At the beginning of the book, I was making a mental note of who I was going to suggest read this. Once I hit the middle, I stopped. Don’t get me wrong, the story line is good and I enjoyed the book but a couple of chapters could have been cut.
Looking back over the whole book, I was delighted with the book (and series). The character inconsistencies of Sutton truly didn’t detract from the plot, just gave me pause as I pondered the book. The slow part, while a bit monotonous, is forgivable as the whole story was cute.
As a side note, I wish more would have been told about Bakers work problem. We learned a lot more about Sutton’s family problem and resolution but not much of Bakers.
Many thanks to Bare Naked Words for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I’m sorry, this one just didn’t do it for me. I felt like I was reading like 3 different books. Sutton was online dating, then suddenly she wants a relationship with Baker from the office, with whom she has zero chemistry, and there was a mystery type storyline that never got wrapped up. So many things happened off page and were mentioned in passing that it made the book choppy. The big mystery was never solved, it went from them thinking his to solve it in one paragraph, to it being solved with zero explanation as to how.

The first maybe third of the book was great, I enjoyed the flirting between Sutton and Baker, but then it just went off the rails. While their flirting was cute, they had no chemistry as a couple and it felt awkward. There were too many storylines, most of which were never tied up, and detracted from what could have been a great book. Overall this just wasn’t my jam.

Sutton Sterling is a Capricorn through and through. A stubborn workaholic some may call pessimistic, Sutton doesn’t have time to search for the roses between the thorns of potential relationships. Besides, her horoscopes never point her in the direction of love anyway. Until the day she reads one with a fresh perspective and decides to take a chance at romance and her future.

Baker Hayes has one cardinal rule – no interoffice dating. When he started working with Sutton, he considered disregarding his own boundaries. Baker accepted his role in the friend-zone but the day he happened upon Sutton’s online dating blog, he’s ready to start breaking some rules.

Does Sutton’s horoscope decide her fate or will she and Baker go crashing into love?

Freaking loved every page of Baker and Sutton's story! Their story was beautifully written and hilarious! Sutton's blogs were priceless. Their chemistry was hot and their banter hilarious. Have a serious book hangover!

This is the first book I’ve read from Hollis Wynn so I had no idea what to expect going into it. It was a fun office romance that was slightly different.

Sutton works for her father, she runs a blog, is part of a book club and is giving the whole online dating thing a try and documenting her experiences on her blog. Baker also works at the same company as Sutton and the two of them have formed a friendship.

Sutton’s experiences with online dating were fun to read. I loved that all the men in the office followed her blog, obviously not knowing it was her behind it. I loved the friendship and the relationship between Sutton and Baker. They had a ton of chemistry and there was a great mixture of sweet and steamy in their relationship.

Crashing into Love was a sweet, fun, slightly different office romance and one to check out.

Who is Sutton? What does she do for a living? What type of person is she? Is she laid back, taking life as it goes? Or is she a work-a-holic type? Who is Baker? Where does he work? What does he do for a living? Who is Dan and what do we learn about each of them? I think I like Baker, still a little uncertain half way into the book. I want to get to know more about him. Oh boy, do things get interesting when Soren and Lake come into the picture! The bombshell that Sutton's mom dropped on her was a hoot to read about after the dinner with Mr. Sterling! What happened at the end had me smiling as I fell asleep.

Wow. At 5%, the female lead states, "I am getting old and my clock is running out of time. At twenty-eight, you’d think there would be dozens of men chasing me. Unfortunately, I am a workaholic who spends most of her time at an office full of married men and grandpas. Plus, dating at this age, I’m either going to get the guy who still lives with his mom and dad in their basement or has an ex-wife and four kids."

Ageist much? At 28? She's old?

Despite the decent writing, I DNF. I'm really really tired of even fake made-up romances telling women they are OLD.

Ladies, when you read garbage like this in a book that's supposed to be a fantasy, do yourself and the rest of us a favor. Stop reading, and write a review that calls out this kind of crap. Then, find a story that celebrates women of all kinds with a plot that shows love is everything.

ARC! The only reason this book annoyed me was because of all the extra sit ups I’m going to have to do from the extra cupcakes I ate. Seriously, Sutton’s cupcakes sounded divine!
Besides the extra exercise, this book grabbed from the start! Last of the Written In The Stars series and they saved the best for last. Ms. Hollis Wynn paints a very realistic picture of how frustrating online dating is and Sutton maneuvers through it with some comedy, wine and cupcakes while blogging.
Baker was even yummier than the cupcakes if even possible! I am now on a mission to eat cupcakes on a drunken night.
All in all Hollis wrapped up an amazing series with a fun book, a Capricorn who takes no ones mood and cupcakes and wine ❤️

This book has a different approach. Before falling for the one prince charming, you have to kiss a few frogs first. Maybe get distracted with one of the frogs too. It focuses a lot on friendship which makes it very different. Even unique. And that's probably because of Sutton's hangups about love. She wants love but she is afraid of having to compromise her independence. So that's a little tough to navigate. Good thing that Baker is a very patient man but still assertive. And when something finally happens between them, I felt like "it's about time!" He is the sweetest, I would have jump his bones without a doubt that he was the one. Still, the book has some funny moments and some quirkiness to it.

This is the first book I have read by the author and it is an interesting addition to the Written in the Stars series. Sutton is looking for love when her horoscope has her getting out of her comfort zone to find her man and what she winds up with are three Mikes. However, there is one man that she has a little crush on, Baker, but in some ways, he is off limits being a work colleague. In order to deal with her dating drama, Sutton writes a blog where she puts it all out there. Overall, this is a witty and entertaining read but the blog posts became a little repetitive. If you are looking for something to pass the time, then you may want to take a chance on this one. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

This book makes me not trust Goodreads ratings. It was very disjointed, and I finally had to give up and mark it a DNF. It's hard to believe that employees of an investigation firm called Sterling Investigation didn't even wonder if a blog written by someone named "Searching Sterling" was possibly their coworker. It felt like being told the same story over and over between a date, the blog post recapping and then the best friend call recapping again. We randomly get daddy issues wedged in here and there without connection. The love story doesn't flow and then 80% in they try to introduce a mystery, and that's when I gave up. I think this story probably had potential if it had gone through another draft or two because I did think Sutton could be funny.

OK so I'm giving this a - 4* and here's why;
I liked the slow burn and the realization that they both have feelings for each other. But as their love relationship develops the plot of the story kinda got a bit confusing for me. I'm not sure what bothered me but I felt like I needed more to fully connect with the story completely.

I've read all 12 books in the series and I'm sorry to see it end. Hopefully this project will come around again with new characters and their HEA's to entertain us with.

All 3 of these describe the premise behind this story, Sutton Sterling engages in online dating, because at 28 she feels that’s her only option, she also writes a blog about her dating. Sutton has also been crushing on one of the men in her office but is concerned with her fathers no office dating rules.

Yet, Baker Hayes is able to break through to Sutton (after her 3 Mike’s from online dating) and they have an affair.

The sex scenes are detailed and the chemistry between Baker and Sutton is palpable, but they have to deal with all the other issues before they embark on their own happy ever after.

Crashing Into Love is my first read from Hollis Wynn and it was cute.

I liked Sutton and her no holds barred attitude. She was a woman who knew what she wanted and went after it in a relatable and honest way. Cue the dating disaster hilarity and the man she never saw coming.

My favorite thing about Baker is that he was a gentleman. Kind. Considerate. Honest and just the right amount of shy. I liked how he always put Sutton and her feelings first. Even when she frustrated him and made him angry, he was sure to talk with her about what was going on.

Overall, Baker and Sutton's workplace romance was low on drama and packed a good handful of laughs.

Crashing into Love is a fun story about Sutton and Baker. I liked both characters and thought they got along well. Could have had a little more chemistry between them though. She had known him for so long and was still awkward around him. I did enjoy the blog aspect of the story. I thought that was different and unique.
I would have liked the book to have had more with Sutton and Baker together, it seemed a little rushed once they got together. There was a little too much focus on fashion for my taste, I didn't even know most of the stuff mentioned. If you like fashion then you will enjoy this book. Overall I enjoyed the book and like the zodiac references.

Crashing into Love by Hollis Wynn is an absolute great read! I have loved Hollis Wynn's books so far so I was excited to jump into this. This story had moments that made me chuckle, sweet and tender moments, angst, and of course some steam.

Sutton Sterling is one of those fantastic lead female characters that I love to read about. Spunk, sass, smart, and looking for her Mr. Right. Baker was a great partner for her and although it takes them a minute to realize their feelings I love watching their romance bloom.

I absolutely loved what Hollis did with this book and loved the concept behind it. I absolutely suggest this read!

I was anxiously awaiting this installment in the Written in the Stars series because well, I am a Capricorn and I know the author is too, so I wanted to see what she did with this. I was enthralled and I found myself knowing Sutton. Everything she went through and her journey to grow. This kept me hooked. It is longer than the other novellas in the series, so it's more like a full length novel. I love the relationship and back and forth between her and Baker. The story does gives us something else to look forward to as well so maybe we will see these characters again.

Finally, it's time to read my sign, and Hollis did not disappoint in her depiction of the Capricorn in my new favorite character, Sutton!

Sutton and Baker are two polar opposite characters, but when they come together, phew, that chemistry burns! And trust me, as a Capricorn, it can be hard to let someone in, and Sutton shows that throughout the novel. But Baker is determined to prove to her that he is the man she needs in her life

Absolutely loved this addition to the series, and I'm sad to see the series end now :(

I loved this story!!!!!! Maybe cause I am a Capricorn and stubborn as all hell but this story was so awesome to read. Sutton and Baker have this sow burn, friends, coworker thing going on that it forces you to keep reading to see when things flip. I especially like the daddy’s rules about no inter-office relations, makes for one hell of a good story to tell. These two especially have a connection thats heartwarming and true. I loved reading about every moment of their journey. I truly enjoy it only this story but the author as well. Very talented and a must read!!!

First book of the year under my belt!

This was a quick, spicy read...office romance. I like that Sutton isn't afraid to be herself and she doesn't take crap from the men she works with. But, she's also vulnerable and has her quirks. She also has some pretty cool friends and a real cute blog!

I like that Baker knew what he wanted but, approached it softly, not balls to the wall. I like that the relationship felt like it grew with the story and wasn't just sex/lust from the get-go.

Nice way to round out a fun series.

I laughed so hard at all of Sutton's mishaps. With that being said, Sutton decides to write a blog about the trials and tribulations of being a single girl in the city. Her blog posts are hilarious as she details all of her mishaps and the shenanigan's with dating online and her friends. Of course it come with alot of cocktails and cupcakes. Lots and lots of cupcakes. I loved Baker and couldn't wait for them to get together.

CRASHING IN TO LOVE (Written in the Stars Novella #12) by Hollis Wynn is equal parts funny, sweet, endearing, and steamy. Sutton Sterling is a great female character who we really get to know and like. I adored so many of her characteristics. Baker makes you take notice and I loved how attentive he was. With each page I turned I couldn't wait to see how Sutton's story was going to unfold; whether that be what she was wearing, if she had her book club or what the blog post was going to say. Great book!

Crashing into love is the last and final book in the Written in the Stars series! This is my first read from Hollis Wynn and I thought it was a cute romantic quick read!! I enjoyed the humor with the blog posts and the chemistry between Sutton and Baker. Sutton and Baker just clicked on such an emotional level it was refreshing to read how supportive they were of each other in their personal and professional lives. It was a great ending to such an amazing series!!!
