Mastering Fasting is a science-based book about intermittent fasting that is both comprehensive enough for health professionals but also simple enough for anyone to understand.
Like every health trend growing in popularity, fasting is often hyped as a magical cure-all. But there’s a difference between what you read on social media and what we know to be true. Fasting has many benefits to offer, but only when done right.
This book will teach you everything you need to know about fasting. You’ll learn that fasting is medically proven to be safe. You’ll also learn how and why fasting works, according to the most recent scientific research. I’ll also explain the health issues and challenges that can benefit from fasting. You’ll learn how to actually do it and what the best practices are. We’ll talk about the various things you need to be aware of and then last but certainly not least, we’ll look at how fasting is different for men and women.
Andri Peetso is a health author, a biohacker, and an entrepreneur. With conventional medicine being unable to cure his lifelong health issues and autoimmune disease, Andri took charge of his own wellbeing.
After years of determination and self-experimenting, he is now symptom-free, in the best shape of his life, and dedicated to sharing his transformational health optimization knowledge.
I only believe in self improvement books if the author practices what he or she preaches and has success to show for it. I wouldn't take diet advice from a fat man. That is why I thoroughly enjoyed "Mastering Fasting" - the author describing his journey makes the book relatable, trustworthy and inspiring. Also I really loved the style of writing - it was simple, easy to follow and engaging, like having a conversation with a friend. "Mastering Fasting" is such an inspiring read for anyone who wants to enhance his or her quality of life. It offers simple methods which don't require tons of effort, but they go a long way in improving health and wellbeing. I love how the author explains the theory behind the benefits of fasting/time restricted eating. Sometimes was a bit too technical for me, but this is because I've no in-depth knowledge of the subject, and I think it is a great starting point for further research. Personally I've never seriously considered fasting, thinking it was a practice for health nuts and monks, but after reading this book I'm already one week in.
I've been looking to start my intermittent fasting journey for years, but somehow always ended up confused on how to take the right steps. I felt uncomfortable, sometimes dizzy or too hungry. I'd assign these negative consequences to mixing conflicting information found in different sources.
I didn't want to write a review right after I had read the book, so I'd have more time to test the steps and knowledge on my body. To my surprise I find myself having more energy, clearer mind and healthier body - it worked.
What I like about Andri's book is that each step is substantiated by scientific papers and other literature whilst distilling the knowledge into simple to understand action roadmap. Emphasis being put on creating habits that actually last.
Suffice to say I definitely recommend those interested in intermittent fasting to pick this gem of a book up and cut out the noise of wanna-be writers/health gurus on the web.
This book is so much more that just about fasting. If you have even struggled with weight gain, diets, health issues or over all too much information being out there and not knowing what to do next - this book is for you. Easy quick read for someone who doesn’t know much about health. Clearly understandable facts from different books, studies and scientific papers. If there is one place to get information about fasting - this is it. Everything valuable together in one place. From my personal perspective I finally learned how to actually do correct fasting and what is the difference between men and women doing it. With so many helpful tips and motivation to become more mindful about my eating habits and knowing more about what is more important than just counting calories. Probably added few years to my lifespan and who wouldn’t want to live longer, happier and healthier life?!
Such an intriguing read about fasting! Well researched and structured in a way that's easy to understand while providing a solid base of science. The author did a great job introducing fasting in a very appealing way and suggests actionable steps for the readers. Another thing that really spoke to me was the section on fasting for women. This topic isn't addressed nearly enough in the health and wellness industry. Refreshingly, this book points out the fundamental biological and other differences between men and women to help women make an informed decision before jumping on the fasting train.
I worked with the author of this book on a different book and he has a deep understanding of the topic. The book was engaging and well written. He is an expert on biohacking and he also shares his personal story. If you are looking to learn all about fasting and how to do it right then this is the book for you.
I had no prior knowledge of intermittent fasting before reading this book. I found it to be very informative and well-written, especially for a subject that's not easy to grasp. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about fasting or is interested in starting a fasting program. It's one of the best resources on the topic that I've read.
Amazing book. It's unbelievable how much information the Author is able to absorb from hundreds of other books on this topic. And just as unbelievable, how well he can sum up the most important information in plain English for everyone to understand.
So happy to finally see a book around fasting that has a dedicated chapter for women. The book is very practical and provides so much knowledge. Can't wait to put it all to practice. And extra points for the beautiful design of the book, such a delight to my eyes.
I've been practicing fasting for a while, but I found this book after a friend recommended it. I learned a lot of new things - ways to improve my fasting, what to do and what not to do. I now know how to avoid the mistakes I've been making and how to start biohacking with fasting.
Mastering Fasting is the only book I've read that is both easy to read but dense in scientific insights. The learnings have enabled me to take my fasting to a whole new level and I can already feel/see the difference. Brilliant!
