Slime's up for one recently deceased middle-aged businessman! When the gods reincarnate him in another world as a boy with magical powers, he discovers that magically-tamed slime are an untapped natural resource!
Reincarnated as a child in another world, middle-aged Japanese office worker Ryoma Takebayashi is living life to the fullest in the realm of Seilfall and testing his skills in unexpected ways. Now Ryoma's about to show off his business acumen by using alchemy and the knowledge from his past life?! As his slimy experiments in monster taming take a new turn and monster hunting quests from the Guild fill up his schedule, Ryoma isn't wasting a minute of his second chance at life!
I like how he keeps relating back to his previous life and making corrections in this one. I'm also confused by how he's supposedly setting out on his own while completely working for the same family he's been with. lol I'm fine, though, just along for the ride.
I slipped and binge read volumes 4, 5 and 6. Starts with Ryoma doing alchemy at the mines and ends with Ryoma realizing he's become dependent and wants to separate from the Duke's family. The mother's reaction was terrifying. I can't decide if Ryoma's seriousness is just OP or scary.

Alchemy, hmm? I understand why he had to use “separate” for first getting out the dirt, then the oxygen, but what did he use “combination” on? Ryoma said that “transformation” is one alchemical skill, to change the form of a thing. But…all of it seems to be changing the form, through mixing, combining, separating…I don’t think the author thought this went out, just wanted to show off alchemy. TBH, I think he’s doing more of chemistry than alchemy, but I guess they could be considered related.

This volume is much more of a typical gaming experience; the characters have to clear an old mine of creatures, which turn out to be hundreds of just two types of fairly low level monsters, mantises and bats. It's a typical grinding to level up type of situation and yet Ryoma levels up less in this than he did in the cesspit cleaning.
Still it was fun to see many more applications of his magic skills and I adore the little metal slime that he now has.
Ryoma seems to be getting himself well established and I'm intrigued to see what he goes on to do next now he's decided to go independent.
Another one I'm reading so fast that I can't keep the different volumes apart! I am definitely enjoying reading this (or otherwise I wouldn't be reading it so fast, would I?) but I'm honestly not sure what I *think* of it.
I really love the LN and the Manga for this series. The audiobook for the series gets better in about volume 3 or more. I didn’t like the narrator’s children’s voices in the early ones but it got better. The anime series was decent but the two main characters faces were a bit exaggerated and they had no visible teeth which bothered me for some reason. All in all, this is a delightful series to read in manga or LN form.
This is so cute. I love how adorable Ryouma is but still resourceful. This volume had my attention from start to finish. I actually had to go back and watch the anime and was amazed of all the small details that were left out in the anime and the major changes in some parts. I liked the manga's version better.
Full of surprises. I watched the anime first before reading the manga. Volume 4 of the manga contains different content than the anime. I was pleasantly surprised. I've already preordered Volume 5 and can't wait!
Volume 4 continues the adventures of Ryoma Takebayashi. Due to Ryoma's knowledge of Earth's Science, he can take his magic to a new level of sophistication. Also, since he is willing to try unusual things, he trains his slimes to fight.
Ryoma finally reveals that he can use alchemy, and everyone thinks he is scamming them at first. They lack Earth Knowledge, so they don't know anything about Chemistry.
Finally, the Mines must be explored since the government officials didn't keep up with it. So Ryoma teaches Elialia how to use some spells in the cave system.
As I said in previous reviews of this series, I like the Slice-of-Life genre. I don't mind situations where the main character is overpowered and everything goes his way.
Thanks for reading my review, and see you next time.
