A man who believes he’s unworthy of love. A woman determined to make him see the truth. An enemy watching from the shadows, ready to destroy them both for good.
Former Marine Adrian Walker has been called a lot of things…Liar. Traitor. Murderer. Bastard. In order to keep his country safe, he had to become all those things and more. And he’s been fine with it, until now. Until her. One glance into Jenna Shaw’s emerald eyes is all it takes for Adrian to fall. But after everything he’s done and every enemy he’s made, Adrian knows a future with the fiery redhead is an impossible dream. She deserves to be happy. To live a life free from the dangers of his world. She deserves…more.
Within seconds of meeting Adrian Walker, E.R. nurse Jenna Shaw wanted to kill him. Months later—after a late-night appearance on her doorstep, followed by a cold and heartless vanishing act—the only thing that’s changed is her motive. Desperate to escape the tumultuous memories of the sexy bad boy, Jenna accepts a job in an area some consider dangerous. What she doesn’t know is danger has already been watching her. Waiting for the perfect chance to use her in his sick game.
When Jenna suddenly goes missing, Adrian will do whatever it takes to find her. Even if it means asking the men of Bravo—as well as Ghost and his Delta team—for help. Can Adrian and others find Jenna in time to save her, or will the dangers from his past be the catalyst that destroys them both?
Author of the exciting R.I.S.C. Series, Anna Blakely brings you stories of love, action, and edge of your seat suspense. As an avid reader herself, Anna writes what she loves...strong, Alpha heroes and the intelligent, independent heroines they love.
Anna's dream is to create stories her readers will enjoy, and characters they'll fall in love with as much as she has. She believes in true love and Happily Ever After, which is what she will bring to you.
Anna lives in rural Missouri with her husband and children, as well as several rescued animals. When she's not writing, Anna enjoys reading, watching action and horror movies (the scarier the better), and spending time with her amazing family.
Adrian has been living a life of lies and danger for most of his adult years, but has now left the dangerous job he's been living in for years. Adrian is drawn to Jenna like a moth to a flame, his one true and slim chance of happiness and love, but he feels she deserves the best and he knows that he doesn’t measure up. However when her life is in danger he will do anything to save her. Adrian has been a huge part of the series but not always in a great way and as a character he's not an easy person to like but we now see another side to him, and importantly why he is the way that he is.
It's most important you read these books in order, else this story and some of it's characters won't make sense. An excellent story from Anna Blakely.
Finally! Jenna and Adrian have been teasing us for a while. Adrian is so tortured and at times not very likable. Jenna fights for him. Their HEA is hard fought. Sad to see the end of this series, but excited for what’s next.
This is a hard review to write, without giving away a bunch of spoilers that is! I loved so much about this story. Adrian has been a huge part of the series all along and not in a good way, actually there were many times, I had wished the author would kill him off. But this book here, shows us exactly why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, or make assumptions. Adrian has been living a life of lies and danger for most of his adult years, now the truth has come out, he is out of the dangerous job he has been living in for years. Adrian is drawn to Jenna like no other person on earth, she is his light in the darkness, his beacon of hope, his one slim chance of happiness and love, but she deserves the best and he knows that he doesn’t measure up. Like a moth to the flame, he can’t stay away, and when her life is in danger he will do anything to save her. Definitely read this book, but definitely read the series in order first, this book is all about redemption and to get the full punch of it, you need to have those deep feelings of hatred first to appreciate the rise above it all.
Absolutely loved Rescuing Jenna...Jenna is the leading lady, she is sassy, fierce, loyal, beautiful and she protects those she loves. Jenna first appears is Rescuing Ellena book four. She is Ellena's best friend, aka sister of the heart, Jenna made quite the impression in Rescuing Ellena. Adrian Walker is our leading male, we first meet Walker is Rescuing Gracelynn. Walker is a lone wolf, he has stayed away from relationship for years but Jenna will make him want more. Their story begins in Rescuing Ellena, honestly I would read that before starting this book. To get Walker's full impact on the story you have to go back to book one. I will not reveal any spoilers because Blakely built Walker's character in a way you have to read about to appreciate his lone wolf status. I have had a love/hate relationship with Walker but I have been wanting his story from book one because he is a mystery. Blakely will reveal some of Walker's history is book four but he will spill more in this story. His story brought me to tears and I have been hoping he gets his own HEA. This story will take you on an emotional rollercoaster filled with suspense and mystery. The banter between Jenna and Adrian makes the story. Jenna knows how to handle Walker in a way he has never experienced prior to meeting the feisty red head. Jenna will be kidnapped but it's going to take more than the lone Wolf to bring her home safe. Walker will get help from Bravo team, Ryder and a sexy Delta team we all love. I highly recommend this series and story. Again to appreciate both characters read at least book four Rescuing Ellena or start at books one Rescuing Gracelynn prior to reading book five. You will enjoy and get a better understanding of the backstory. Happy Reading!!
Rescuing Jenna is book five in the Special Forces: Operation Alpha, Bravo Team by Anna Blakely. It’s a great finale to this series.
Adrian Walker has spent the last ten years under deep cover as a secret assassin for the government. On his last assignment, he met nurse Jenna Shaw, and he can’t stop thinking about her which is why he watches over her to make sure she’s safe. When Adrian and Jenna get together, their passion is combustible. Adrian doesn’t believe he’ll ever be able to have a normal relationship. Jenna is worried that she’ll always be alone. When one of Adrian’s enemies kidnaps Jenna to lure Adrian into a trap, Adrian has to go back into the life he thought he’d left behind in order to get Jenna back. Once that’s done, he’ll leave her behind so she can have a safe life. But will that make either Jenna or Adrian happy?
This book is the perfect conclusion to the Bravo Team books. Adrian Walker was a dark figure throughout the series, and now he has come clean about his true role as an assassin. He’s not who they thought, but who exactly is he? What ghosts are haunting him, and why doesn’t he believe he deserves a relationship or happiness? Jenna is a strong nurse with a good BS meter, and she refused to let Adrian wallow in his own crap. As usual, the rest of Bravo team and the guys from Delta join in to help with the rescue mission. These guys are funny and a band of brothers like no other.
Rescuing Jenna is a standalone (and finale) in an interconnected series. You’ll enjoy it more if you read the whole series. Let me know if you read - I’d love to discuss!
Rescuing Jenna is by Anna Blakely. It is the fourth book in the series. This is the story of Adrian Walker and Jenna Shaw. It involves sex trafficking. Adrian had begun to have feelings for Jenna after he had kidnapped her while attempting to bring Governor Radcliffe, a sociopath, down. It was at this time that he revealed to the Bravo team and R.I.S.C. that he was a double agent. He had shot Zade and Matt to keep them alive. It was very difficult for them to see that he was a good guy rather than a bad guy. However, after saving Ellena, the team had accepted him. However, he had no idea if Jenna would accept him or still be angry with him. He went by her place several times before he finally found the nerve to knock on her door. Jenna Shaw was an ER nurse and a good friend of Ellena and Gabe. After that incident was over and Ellena had moved to Dallas, Jenna found herself alone in California; but her job kept her busy. Following an encounter with Adrian who then left again and a mugging, Jenna took a temporary job working at a hospital in Gulfside Harbor, Texas. The town was full of crime, much of it sex trafficking. The temporary nurses were housed together and escorted to and from the hospital. They were not to go anywhere alone and had to check in and out so someone knew where they were. She should be safe; but Gabe talked to Adrian and Adrian was there to protect her if she got into trouble. Adrian tried to stay in the background; but was unable to. What kind of trouble was waiting for her in Gulfside Harbor?
Wow this book was amazing! When we meet Adrian, he is a sniper in the military and has done so many things that he truly wasn't proud of but did it for his country. He was haunted by a lot of the things he had done deep down without realizing it. When he meets Jenna, she breaks down his walls that he's put over his heart and has slowly chipped away at them to find a kind, compassionate, caring, protective man that she has fallen in love with. Jenna's character is so sweet and kind, she's very caring, but she also has fire in her belly, where she will stand up for herself, and is a fighter. At first, when she found out what Adrian did for a living, she didn't understand, and couldn't understand how someone could kill other people for a living, but then she slowly started to understand that he did it to protect other people and the men that he killed were terrible people.
I don't want to give a lot away about the story, because like other reviews, it was fun to go in and not know what to expect, with all the suspense, passion and a little mystery. I normally don't care for 'redemption stories' but this is one redemption story that got it right. I loved it so much, and the author really did a great job keeping me turning the pages, wanting more!
So I honestly don't even know where to start with this review. I have been wanting Adrian's story ever since the last book. Going into this book, I really wasn't sure if it would do his story justice or if I would be left feeling like he still wasn't redeemed. I can honestly say, I absolutely loved his story! Adrian has done so many things that he truly wasn't proud of but knew it was for the good of his country. So many things that truly haunted him in ways that he never looked too closely at. And he couldn't if he wanted to keep doing his job effectively. Jenna is this woman with snark and vitality but she also is kind, sweet, loyal with a heart of gold. And she draws him like no other. I honestly wasn't expecting them to work the way they do. But she is truly the perfect person for him. She has this light about her that you would never want to see extinguished. I don't want to say a lot about their actual story, because I honestly feel like that would ruin the whole thing for people. But I will say, this is one redemption story that got it right. And I loved every single thing about it.
Jenna “got to know” Adrian when he was part of an undercover job and had “kidnap her”. Fast forward past the madness and he can’t stop thinking about her. He regularly keeps tabs on her and how she’s doing and one night he can’t keep himself away and knocks on her door……. After that one night of passion Jenna hasn’t heard from him again. Taking a new job role in a less than savoury town has her nearest and dearest worried for her safety. After nearly being kidnapped on a night out Jenna realises Adrian has been in the background all along, and when he helps look into her attempted kidnapping he finds that things from the last don’t stay in the last and it seems jenna is the one whose stuck in the middle.
Phenomenal book. The suspense was unreal and I truly felt for Adrian. The emotion from him was so palpable. I’m glad by the end everyone had managed to talk sense into him and I’m so glad that jenna didn’t give up on him even when he wasn’t there for her. Jenna was a total badass (pretty much like most of the leading ladies). Really enjoyed it and was on the edge of my seat the whole way through
Redemption This final story in this series is about Adrian, and he hasn't always been the nice guy to the rest of the Alpha and Bravo teams, but as a reader I was always hoping that he would be redeemed. Jenna was also a secondary character in other books as well. There are laughs, "Madonna's kin*y playroom", and it's definitely not what you are thinking, Brad the hospital nurse, and the devil sitting on a throne. I also wanted to turn the pages as fast as I could to see what would happen next. Definitely lots of action, intrigue, holding your breath, and melting moments. The harder they fall, the tougher they are, e.g. flames and fire growing, and giving an out, all offered but not accepted. Jenna is the one right person for Adrian but he doesn't think he deserves her. It's a beautiful story and I'm very proud to recommend this author and this series. I've read her books from the very beginning and I will continue to do so. Highly recommend.
I have been waiting and waiting for this book and it didn't disappoint!!
Adrian has been through so much in this series and done so much. Out of all the characters, he has had the biggest story line and character development so now it was time for him to find his HEA. I loved reading about his inner turmoil about the things he had done and how he doesn't want any of it to touch Jenna who is his sunshine and goodness in the world.
Jenna is a woman I think we all strive to be. She is loyal, caring, a great friend and a complete bada#@. Even in the times that most of us would duck and cover, she is trying to help or mouthing off which was fun to read. Her spirit is something I admire.
This book was gut-wrenching! This is a standalone book but it would help to have read the books before. To see this man who doesn't believe he is capable and able to love, fall for a woman only to have her ripped away from him, hurt my heart. However, we got to see the kind of man Adrian is when he is a very upset man in love going after and saving his woman.
Rescuing Jenna by Anna Blakely is Adrian and Jenna's amazing story. It wasn't a quick read for me like other books I've read. After I started reading it, I wanted to slow down and take my time savoring: each sentence I read, each new piece of information I learned, and every exciting moment that took place. There were plenty of intrigues, action, romance, character's self-awareness, revenge, questions needing answers, and so much more that kept my eyes riveted to the pages. I'm one of those impatient readers who likes to sometimes skip to the end of the book so I can read the ending and then I'll go back and read the story in its entirety. But I couldn't do it with this story. It was grabbing me page by page and I had to read it so I couldn't miss a single thing. If you want a good read that will keep you glued to the pages and will keep your anticipation in high gear, then I highly recommend reading Rescuing Jenna.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Adrian has been a constant in the Bravo series. First thought of us as an assassin working for the bad guys, readers discovered that he in fact was undercover with the CIA and all the "bad" things he did was his way to keep people safe. This also happened with Jenna. The two did not meet in the best circumstances with Adrian sent to kidnap her in the previous book, but her fiery passion and goodness stuck with Adrian. Jenna is a great MFC. She is strong willed and compassionate, all good things to help Adrian as he is now trying to get back into a normal life from being undercover for so long. He feels he doesn't deserve her, but she doesn't let him slink away, even when her life is threatened (again) due to something in Adrian's undercover past. It will take everything in him not to completely shut down and he will need Jenna's light to lead him in the right direction. Adrian and Jenna's story was fantastic! I am so happy Adrian got to show everyone the man he is truly meant to be and fight for his HEA.
Wow! I can truly say that I didn't mind this redemption of a perceived villain throughout the series. Most of the time, they have gone too far for me to believe in their redemption. However, I was on board with the way the author wrote Adrian throughout the series, and how she explained his reasoning for the why and how. To me, it was believable. As for Jenna, I loved her confidence, sexiness, and feistiness, and her willingness to die for her hero was admirable, but I didn't like her TSTL moment. As a woman and nurse in this day and age, she knew better than anyone about accepting drinks from or paid for by strangers. That part had me fuming.
I do wish the ending would have been stretched a little more. With everything that Adrian "put" the others through, he needed just a little bit more "torturing" before he brought the villain of this book to justice. And the best part of his personality was his confidence and cockiness. He should not have needed Gabe's help (of all people) to get him to get his head out of his arse. But overall, I enjoyed reading Adrian's story.
But Adrian is convinced that happiness and ever-afters were not possible for a guy like him. Which leaves him completely lost and floundering, especially when Jenna is targeted....again. Last time was bad, but this time it is one of the most depraved men on earth who will stop and nothing for revenge and Jenna is the playing piece he has chosen. You can feel Adrian's torture knowing that even if he walks away she will no longer be safe, the pain and confusion overwhelms him as he realises....he loves her! Shock! Horror! How did that hapoen? If Jenna's life being in the balance wasn't so horrific Adrian's confusion over his feelings would be hilarious and whilst there are times you want to punch him for being a doofus and running, his honest confusion and surprise will steal your heart. I love this R.I.S.C Bravo series, I read this book on Kindle Unlimited.
Last book in the bravo team This series runs alongside alpha team (main R.I.S.C series) and This series ends before last book of alpha series (even homeland man finds love) so it gets very confusing the last book of alpha series says two new branches of R.I.S.C is opening and Trance is in the last book along with coopers sister hinting they are the new Charlie team But But But, there is a Charlie team with a killian? (But not on unlimited)
Another mystery where is ghost delta team series? Ok they are not R.I.S.C and not Rykers person army team maybe not.but there is no information on where the series is?
I love these series but this author do not make it easy to understand what order to read and where to go to read the rest, it's ok to work with other authors but help us read in order or we find out who is married to who before we read there story no reader wants to be a seer.
After conspiring to get Gabe and Ellena reconciled and safely home, the bane of operators and criminals alike, bad boy Adrian Walker and ER nurse Jenna Shaw tried to fool themselves they ‘liked’ each other while pretending they didn’t care at all. After Adrian’s last ‘drive-by’, Jenna decided she needed to make some changes but she wasn’t aware getting mugged yesterday was part of a larger plan. Like her friends, Adrian advised Jenna against taking a 12week job in a high crime are.
On the first day, Jenna’s co-workers were having second thoughts about the assignment since it was known for drug & sex trafficking and at least two nurses were missing. Within days of starting Jenna’s drugged and saved from kidnapping in a lure to get to Adrian. In a couple moment, Adrian shares deep secrets with Jenna including that his baby sister was taken, sex-trafficked and killed in the same area. Jenna stomps her foot, that could happen to anyone. (This reader hated Jenna!) Rating: 2.5stars
There's always inconsistencies in Anna's books. When they're within the series but different books, while frustrating, I cut her some slack. But she has these problems within each book as well. Calling someone by the wrong name, or changing someone's name completely. Telling us something then telling us again as if it's new. "So, he’d contacted Gabe and told him what had happened. After reassuring both him and a very worried Ellena that Jenna was going to be okay, he’d asked Gabe to find out all he could about Saje Staffing…and the woman in charge." The very next chapter, Ellena is shocked to find out Jenna was in an accident. Anna claims to have multiple proofreaders, but even her newer books have all these issues as well as grammatical mistakes. And sometimes a misspelled word. I honestly pray that authors with these problems aren't paying people to do the job because they're horrible at it.
I have waited what seems like forever for Adrian's story and it could not have been more perfect. Adrian's back story is woven into all the previous books in this series. Although you can read it as a stand alone I think you will be more invested in the story if you read the others first. Adrian is convinced he isn't worthy of love due to his past but that doesn't stop him from falling in love with Jenna and wishing it could be different. Jenna sees who he truly is inside and wants to prove to him he's worthy. Although Adrian fights it, he's continually drawn to her and when he finds out she could be in danger, he goes straight to her. As the danger continues to unfold, you see a man who would die if it mean saving the love of his life. There is just so much to unfold in this book, you won't be disappointed by a minute of it! And you won't be able to put it down either!
Rescuing Jenna is a great finale to the RISC series; Bravo Team. All the Bravo team members are present and accounted for. Jason Ryker actually goes in the field. Ghost and his Delta Team are back too. All in all it was outstanding. I'm sad that Bravo is ending because I loved every single book but I am looking forward to Charlie team.
Adrian Walker's violent life and past have come full circle and Jenna Shaw has been the one caught in the middle of it not once but twice. Adrian knows he loves her but how can he be with her when he has so many enemies? Jenna fell for a man who is a self professed killer and more. Even knowing that she is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. He's been alone for years and isn't even sure how to be in a relationship. Not too worry she'll teach him but first sh has to forgive him.
This is a MUST read!! Anna Blakely's Bravo team series offers us fantastic stories of sexy heros and the women they love. Each book has a love story with a HEA and Anna beautifully crafts the bonds of the teams and the sisterhood of their woman. When woven all together with her magic you fall in love with the entire group.
They all have a common enemy, Adrian Walker! Adrian has shot them, kidnapped their women, allowed them to be tortured and is the source of a lot of hatred. Mrs Blakely huge heart has decided he still needed a HEA. Jenna is by far the strongest heroine imaginable. Adrian needs a strong woman to keep him in line and she's just the woman to do it. Oh sure, she gets kidnapped, beat up and shot but nothing stops the love in her heart and her determination to have the man she wants. It was a total page turner to see how that happened. Absolutely Fantastic.
Wow, wow, wow. What can I say. I am totally sad that this is the last book in this Bravo series and I have been wanting and waiting for Adrian Walker's story since book three but now it's here and I have read it, well I am sad it's all over. Don't get me wrong, I am excited for the new books that come along, but I feel lost after taking the ride over 5 books with all of these characters. Jenna was the best friend of Ellena from book 4 who was with Have. She has her own problems with being mugged, seeing Adrian then he ghosted her, starting a new job and then being drugged on a night out. Then there are the baddies that want to get Adrian back for what he did. A magnificent story with characters we have grown to love.
I borrowed Rescuing Jenna ~ R.I.S.C. Bravo Team ~ Book 5, by Anna Blakely from the Kindle Unlimited Program.
Former Marine Adrian Walker, first had a job in the Marines as a special ops team member and then he was recruited to go undercover and became known as a gun for hire, traitor, deserter and after years of service he helped with the rescue of two of Bravo Team's women. He meets and falls for the beautiful, strong and independent ER Nurse Jenna Shaw.
Danger is his business and an enemy from his past comes after Jenna to make him suffer and both R.I.S.C. Bravo Team and Homeland's Delta Team join him to her rescue. I loved the emotional war Adrian had within and how it was resolved. Wonderful way to end the series about Delta team's members.
## Stellar. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I needed to know what happened next. I was a little bummed that Jenna and Adrien already knew each other when the story began, and that we were told vaguely what their time together was like. I would've liked to have experienced that with them instead of being told in two sentences what happened. I loved how strong Jenna was and how she made sure she let Adrien know how much he hurt her by ghosting her. TWICE. At first I didn't think I was going to like Adrien, but he grew on me for sure. Another great read that I will happily read again. P.S. No cliffhanger, no manwhore, no doormat, no dead wife, and no cheating. Yay.
Rescuing Jenna is the fifth book in the ‘R.I.S.C. Bravo Team' Series by Anna Blakely. It is a great blend of action, romance, and heartfelt emotion – with gripping storylines, deeply relatable characters, and intriguing romantic suspense. The series follows the elite Bravo Team, a group of highly skilled operatives tackling dangerous missions, from dismantling human trafficking rings to rescuing those in peril. Ms. Blakely masterfully balances high-stakes action with tender, emotional moments, creating a stories that feel both intense and deeply personal. Each book focuses on a different team member, allowing us to dive into their unique backstories, vulnerabilities, and the romantic connections that bring light to their otherwise dangerous lives. Happy Reading…
Ok a tinge of sorrow that this is the last book in the wonderful Bravo Series but I am so happy Anna Blakely wrote this book and that she believes in redemption. It is a fabulous story and while it could be read alone, to fully appreciate redemption in its full glory and how brilliantly the author achieves it, you should read the rest of the series’ first. Adrian Walker has appeared throughout the series working for some pretty evil characters and has generally been Bravo Team's nemesis bringing them much pain and anguish, but deep down there was always this tiny flicker of doubt - was he really, truly the monster he appeared to be? As revealed in Rescuing Ellena, the book preceding this, not everything is always black and white and beneath the surface Adrian has been living a life of lies and shades of grey for many years. With his life of danger and deceit now over Adrian is drawn to Jenna like a moth to a flame, she is the bright light in his darkness and he simply cannot stay away but she is also his weakness that dangers from his past will seek to exploit. All too quickly Adrian is forced to confront an evil from his past to try and save Jenna and give them a chance at the HEA they so richly deserve. I loved these two characters, the cocky, confident, assured but flawed hero and the beautiful, strong, capable, take no crap heroine, they are perfect for each other that is if Jenna can convince Adrian that he does indeed deserve to be happy. Always love an epilogue to catch-up, hopefully there will be more catch-ups down the line for this gorgeous group of characters - please! Anyway, thoroughly enjoyed, highly recommended and can't wait to see what comes next! I received an arc from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
When we first met Adrian Walker he was the man you wanted to be caught or dead. As the series progressed and he did despicable things, I kept wondering what was fueling him and when Ms. Blakely threw in a twist that totally caught the readers off guard I knew I needed to know more. Rescuing Jenna gives us the whole picture of who Adrian is, what he is capable of, and why he is deserving of a HEA. This book will not disappoint. The author gives you enough background to read on its own, but it is so much better and meaningful if you read the series. Thank you Ms. Blakely for an unforgettable series.
Oh wow! Another stupendous read from Anna, exciting and nail_biting suspense with plenty of action and edge of your seat moments. All my favourite characters play a roll in this fast paced and gripping plot. This was only put down when it had to be. Loved Jenna's feisty attitude and fighting spirit, she was never going down easy, no matter what. As for Adrian, I could understand how hard accepting love and support was after most of his adult life working alone and undercover, he hasn't had close friends or family for years, only remote support with his job and no real breaks either. Such a fantastic journey. Started 7/4/21 Finished 8/4/21
OMG! This story is intense! This story is about Adrian and Jenna. Adrian didn't think he deserved to find happiness because of what he was. Then he met Jenna and everything changes for him. It's unfortunate that there was a bad guy out to get Adrian and Jenna was the key. The last few chapters will definitely being tears to your eyes and leave you on the edge of your seat. It was great seeing Ghost and his team help Adrian rescue Jenna. It took awhile for these two to find their way back to each other but they did and now start their happily ever after! FANTASTIC job Anna! I would highly recommend this book!
I have to say that as of right now this is my favorite. I have been waiting on Adrian Walkers story for awhile now and it did not disappoint. Anna Blakely did a great job in the telling of Adrian and Jennas story. I also loved the characters from Susan Stokers world. I know that i have said it before and I will say again if you have not read a book by Anna Blakely then it is your loss, so sorry that 5 stars is the most that I can give her for this one. I highly recommend this story and any of her R.I.S.C books. I hated to see this series end but looking forward to her next adventure.
