One word: TAEJUN!!! That languid eyes, I swear, I'm going to kill somebody tonight (probably myself) because I can't keep calm and can't stop screaming. He's so freaking pretty!! Oh, the series? Yea, right. Kinda cliché but still good. Also, Taejun is a fucking flirt, I swear I'm going to kill my soul 😭

Really enjoyed it!
Of course there's a few things I personally don't extremely love, like the whole "I'm totally hetero haha" trope, and few other 'ugh' stereotypes, but just because I haven't experienced any of them myself, doesn't mean they don't have any actual roots in queerness/finding out your sexuality. So I'm trying to keep a more open mind with BL nowadays and just enjoy them for what they give. And this one is very cute and an interesting plotline so far! I enjoy all the side characters too!
Can't wait for volume 2!

I actually finished this quite a while back, but I put off writing a review because for some reason I find that much harder when I'm reading something online. (I also continue to hate reading manhwa online, but I've fallen into that pit in the second half of this year, since there just isn't any other way to access them.)
I desperately hope that I can come back and write a longer and more comprehensive review if this ever gets an official English print license - but in the meantime, I can say that I loved this very, very much. My absolute favorite manhwa at this point, and it'd take some effort to dislodge it.
I love the characters. I love the story. While I definitely went through some agony with the miscommunication-driven angst in the middle, and very nearly threw my computer aside while hating Wonyoung...they worked through it, in a satisfying way that made me forgive both him and the author.
While Wonyoung is complicated and interesting and I did ultimately like him a lot, it's Taejun who grabbed me from his first appearance and threw this story right into my favorites list. He's perfection. Not because he's actually perfect, but because he's written so, so well and has the exact combination that appeals to me most: a sensitive heart wounded by a tormented past. He's intensely caring and devoted but with a prickly personality that comes from being hurt by those he'd invested too much of his emotional energy in...plus he's a talented artist...and he has the world's most adorable dog...how would I not love him? Seriously.
And yeah, the dog is so great. The true star of the whole story.
I loved this. I wanted to flip back to the beginning and reread as soon as I'd finished. And I very much hope that someday I'll get to do that in a physical form. Off to send that request to all the US publishers who might pick it up for that purpose...

Mal ein koreanischer Manga, dessen Zeichenstil ich mag :D wow. Ich mag auch, dass der in Großformat gedruckt ist, so wie MangaCult das eigentlich immer macht.
Die Story ist interessant genug, dafür das es eine normale Contemporary-Story ist. Die Chars wirken erwachsener als in manch anderen "normalen" BL-Mangas und die Chars sind auch irgendwie putzig und ziemlich nachvollziehbar in ihren Reaktionen.
Es gibt übrigens auch das Thema Homophobie, das wird hier nur sehr kurz angeschnitten, vermutlich in den nachfolgenden Bänden mehr eingebracht, weil einer der Nebenchars definitiv einer ist. Dazu kommt, dass es in den Folgebänden mehr Drama geben wird, immerhin versucht Ji Won-young, der seinen Job durch einen Korrputionsskandal veloren hat (bei dem er nicht schuld war), alles über den Töpfer herauszufinden, weil sein ehemaliger Boss ein riesen Fan von ihm ist. Er ist also ziemlich egoistisch und es ist klar, dass das noch explodieren wird.
Das schöne ist, dass in dem ersten Band schon klar wird, dass sich Won-young so in dem Städchen einlebt und mit den Leuten da befereundet ist, dass er vermutlich nicht mehr zurück in die Großstadt will.
Ich bin gespannt, wie es weiter geht - aufjedenfall mal ein besserer BL, der keine bestimmten Tropes wie Yakuza, Schule etc. bedient.

Dieser Band hat einfach so viel Spaß gemacht und war eine richtig gute Exposition für die Geschichte. Die Dynamik zwischen Wonyoung und Taejun ist klasse, auch wenn ich die ganzen Probleme durch Wonyoungs Spielchen schon von Weitem riechen kann. Ich mag alle Figuren und es scheint auch noch einiges auf uns zuzukommen mit den unterschiedlichen Beziehungen. Wonyoung hinterlässt auch schon seine Spuren bei Taejun und ich bin gespannt, wie es weitergeht und wann Taejun ihm sagt, dass er auf Männer steht. Bin auch total gespannt darauf, Taejuns Gründe für seinen Rückzug und seine Vergangenheit zu erfahren. Werde die Reihe auf jeden Fall weiterlesen, die könnte mir richtig richtig gut gefallen anhand des ersten Bandes.

Ji Won-young hat aufgrund eines Korruptionsskandals seinen Job verloren und ertrinkt nun in Schulden. Um den schlechten Gedanken zu entkommen, beschließt er Urlaub am Meer zu machen - und dort trifft er durch Zufall auf den Lieblingstonkünstler seines Ex-Chefs. Er beschließt, den Künstler näher kennen zu lernen und seine Firma mit Informationen zu füttern. Dann wird er doch sicher wieder eingestellt, oder?
Der Manhwa hat mich direkt angesprochen. Etwas niedliches, für Zwischendurch. Mit einigen Irrungen und ziemlich viel Konfliktpotential - und ganz viel Meer. Nun, so viel Meer habe ich nicht bekommen, um das gleich mal vorweg zu nehmen. Aber dafür eine Geschichte, die tiefer ging as ich eigentlich erwartet hatte.
Ji hatte zu Beginn bei mir noch einige Sympathiepunkte zu sammeln. Auf Anhieb mochte ich ihn Tatsächlich nicht. Er wollte mit aller Macht seinen Job wieder (gut, irgendwo verständlich, wenn man ein schrumpfendes Bankkonto und jede Menge Studienschulden hat) - Aber im Laufe des Manhwa taute er ein bisschen auf, passte sich an das Kleinstadtleben an und obwohl er die Überlegungen noch nicht geäußert hat, hatte ich als Leser schon das Gefühl, dass sich seine Prioritäten langsam verschoben haben - und der junge Mann sammelte Sympathiepunkt um Sympathiepunkt. Wie er im Café jobbt, wie er den Menschen in der Stadt immer näher kam - und auch wie er mit dem Töpfer Yoon umgeht, finde ich niedlich, obwohl er ihn doch eigentlich von Beginn an erkennt und ihn dazu benutzen will, wieder in seiner Firma Fuß zu fassen. Doch im Laufe der Geschichte merkt man, wie ihre Vertrautheit und ihre Freundschaft wächst - gut, Ji nicht, aber der Leser schon - und das ist die Kunst, die Pibi schafft.
Auch die Nebencharaktere bekommen genug Raum um echt und plastisch zu wirken - und ich freue mich wirklich auf den Fortgang der Geschichte. Das Potential für große Konflikte wird auf jeden Fall im ersten Band gelegt - Immerhin verbirgt Ji seine wahren Absichten vor dem jungen Töpfer. Ich bin gespannt, wann er auffliegt. Und auch gleichzeitig froh, dass sich die Liebesgeschichte hier langsam aufbaut und die beiden nicht nach ein paar Seiten zusammen im Bett landen. Ich kann Unintentional Love Story also für all diejenigen empfehlen, die gern eine sich langsam entfaltende Lovestory mit vorprogrammierten Konfliktpotential lesen, bei der aber auch andere Themen wie beispielsweise die Verschiebung der eigenen Prioritäten nicht vernachlässigt werden.

This is very well done. The art, the plot, the dialogue, the characterisation, the romance... everything works beautifully together. I'm pretty sold; I'll read everything pibi makes.
I avoided this for a while because the central premise wasn't especially engaging, and I was worried about the deception inherent in the hook. But once I started reading I could immediately see why it's so popular. The characters feel real and their interactions are believable; the story is more than just a procession of recycled cliches and tropes. The slow development of their feelings is super sweet and cute, and there's a fully fleshed out set of characters and events to round out the story.
I also like that the focus is on the relationship, not the smut. There's no smut at all until the side stories, and even then you have to opt in to the mature chapters. It makes you feel like you're reading about an actual love story, not just two random guys bumping uglies.
Overall, absolutely adorable. I feel like these two characters could be actual friends of mine and I'm so pleased to see them happy, hahaha. That's how you know the writing's so good.

Cute manga! I enjoyed the story so much 💛 the whole plot of the ceramic artist point of view in the middle of homophobia drama by his parents and society in general… and the anxiety we are able to see from the point of view of the gay characters is pretty reliable to our current prejudices… I would totally recommend

just finished the drama adaptation and it was so good like i'm obsessed so ofc i had to read the source material and as expected, i love it!
