Thief of Hearts💘
ADULT Medieval🏰🐎🔪 Romance💕 and Adventure
This is a very enjoyable and well written novel about a Laird's daughter who while helping the Scottish resistance to the British, falls in love with a thief. He is also part of the resistance, but is a commoner and known as a rake.
Tastefully written ADULT scenes sprinkled lightly throughout make this a believable love 💘story.

This is a good addition to the Highland Outlaw series, and I liked both Rory and Alex. My rating is 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 stars.
I was actually surprised that I liked Rory as much as I did. He seemed like such an irresponsible womanizer in the first two books, but he was better in this one. I liked Alex a lot, especially that she loved the people in her clan so much, and was willing to do anything for them. No spoilers here, but she did end up sacrificing a lot for them.
I also wished the story had been a bit longer, to allow for more character development, and more time for Rory and Alex to fall in love. It seemed to me that they fell in love a little too quickly to believe.
My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Love will bite you if you don't watch out!
Rory MacVie, a known rake and heartbreaker loves the ladies but his love for Scotland's freedom is the driving force in his life. Thus he is a secret agent for the Scottish Independence. Lady Alexandria Mackenzie loves Scotland as much as her clan as her father is Laird of the clan. unbeknownst to her father and clan, she also is an agent of Scotland and has recently had a shared mission with Rory who she had a passionate kiss with. When her father dies the clan now becomes Alexandria/Alex's responsibility and she finds she must marry to insure the safety of her clan. But where will she Find the right husband? Then 3 suitors show up, she is instructed by the abbot she has asked to help in this regard to pick from these gentlemen. But guess who is also sent along BUT is not to be considered as a perspective groom? You guessed it, handsome Rory! How is a girl to make a proper choice when all she can remember and feel is that one time kiss? Alex indeed has a very hard decision as it affects her clan and Scotland.

I love the Scottish Outlaw series. Rory's story is quick and fast paced. I liked Rory from the other books and it was easy to like Lady Alex. I don't like to give too many details or spoil the adventure for other readers. I will say I expected how it would have to be after reading the first two books, however, there are a few unexpected twist. There was an epilogue, but to my disappointment it did not include anything about the McVies.
This book was a nice addition to the series. Now I will wait for Alex's book.

Fantastic!
Rory MacVie met Alex MacKenzie for the first time in the forest to collect money for Scotland. He got the surprise of his life when he found out she was a woman. He had to help undress her because she had the coin sown in her clothes. She was the Lady of Luthmore Castle and had a rebel heart. Lily has written another outstanding story. It is thrilling to read and I know you will love it as much as I did. I can't wait for the next outlaw's adventure. I wish I could give it ten stars!

This is another incredible work by Ms. Baldwin. Rory is everything I wanted him to be and more, his chemistry with Lady Alex is off the charts! She artfully crafts the story of two Scottish rebels who are undeniably drawn to each other as they fight to maintain their independence. With the delightfully swoon worthy scenes between the two of them its easy to see why even a highborn lady like her would fall for him. Rory is the perfect addition to any library and I promise once you give this book a try you will love him just as I did.

Just like the first two books in the series I loved this one. Rory is the rake of the MacVie brothers. He is also an agent for the Abbott and rebel outlaw for Scotland. When he is sent on a mission at Lunthmore he is again face to face with the woman of his dreams, Alex. Alex is also an agent for the Abbott and she and Rory have a mission to complete and falling for each other is not part of it. This book is action packed with danger, sexual tension, secrets, and a great storyline and wonderful characters.

excellent book
There’s nothing I didn’t like about this book. I was captivated from the very first word. It was one of the few that reminded me of all the names of the characters, who were interwoven with each other, each having their own story. Lily skillfully wove them all together which created a richer tale. I especially liked the theme of a Scottish noble who was able to be herself, while ministering to her ppl. I hope to read many more by Lily Baldwin.

I have given this book 3 in the series 4stars. The story has improved very much since book 1. Rory and Alex deserving of your reading about their trials and their love for each other. The war and the loyalty of Scotland's people is a part of history that makes the book a need to read for all who love history.

A fun read
Alex is the future leader of her clan but she is a secret rebel for the cause of Scotland.
She meets Rory on one of her missions and then he is sent to her home on another mission along with three potential suitors but she only has eyes for Rory.
I like this series. The books are short but are packed with adventure.

Lily Baldwin is an expert in romance novels. I loved this book. And the others in the series are also wonderful. I love a book with a strong, Scottish woman that falls for a strong Scottish man. I just never get tired of these kind of stories and this author was on the way she pulls all of the stories together. I would recommend reading this for some great enjoyment

Fun, not awesome but good
It isn't the greatest I've read, but a good one. I liked that Baldwin doesn't make the standard cookie cutter females for these books. I found Alex's pursuit to be cute and nice change. Worth a read, a nice one to make easy reading to.

Scottish Outlaw
This book was very enjoyable. I loved Alex and Rory' s story. She was a strong, loving person who wanted to do more for her country. Rory is strong, handsome outlaw fighting for his country.

Rory is not my favorite of the brothers but I LOVED Alex as a heroine. She was tough and spunky and did what she wanted while also taking good care of her people. It was fun to see the theft play out that I had already read about in Alec.

Enjoyable series! Read "Jack", "Quinn" and then "Rory", and it wasn't until about half way through Rory that I realized I'd already read the next in the series; Alec. Band of brothers, although not from a noble family, show their honor in actions and deeds. Love all that I've read thus far.

Really great story with a strong characters and plot.
Rory and Alex’s story is full of exciting adventures, handsome highlanders, mystery and danger. It’s a good read that I recommend and will be picking up others in the series.

Another good love story
I have enjoyed this book. Rory and Alec had a lot on their plate serving for Scotland in a time of grief from King Edward. They fell in love and she had to fake her death.

This is the 2nd book I’ve read from this series. I’m reading my 3rd one now. Like book 4 this was a great read. I loved Rory and Alex’s story. I recommend reading this book!
