📜BOOK REVIEW📜
🛕Ganesha’s Temple (book 1 in the Temple Wars Series) is a book on the epic odyssey of Taran, written by “Rohit Gaur”. This book is incredibly written, and can be acknowledged by all. The book is bounded in a such a way, that it will gather all the attention of the fellow readers. And of course once you get into this book, you will definitely not put it down until you finish it up wholly.
🛕 The protagonist of this book is Taran, a 13 year old boy, who was never praised by anyone neither is his family nor in his school. As one such day, when the whole city of Mumbai had gathered together to celebrate the event of Ganesh Chaturthi, he had somehow reached in the veiled lands ( which was the homeland for all devas ), there he met the lord of wisdom & success which is none other than lord Ganesha himself. He then told him about the war between the devas and the asuras which lasted for a millennium and which was still ongoing. Lord Ganesha guided Taran and told him that only he could rescue both the lands from the tremendous disaster ( as somehow both of them were linked to each other at some points ). Will Taran be able to save both the world and return back to his family?
🛕 To be honest I never liked any book which dealt with the powers of any spiritual body. But this one is totally different & of course it is worth a try.
🛕 At the very beginning I found it a little dull to catch up, but eventually it captured all my attention, leading to a magnificent read.
🛕 I would love to recommend this to all the young readers and even the ones who prefer reading mythology and sci-fi, as it is a blend of both.

The story follows Taran, 13 year old who is tasked with a great mission of retrieving important relics that was stolen from Ganesha and potentially lead to misuse. Ganesha, the God of removing all obstacles showed him the enlighted knowledge of the universe and how it came into being, everything that encapsulates, all the great world situations and about Devas and Asuras. While Taran was reluctant to accept this harrowing task, things shifted when he learnt that preta, the creatures know for wrecking havoc on humanity, took his family.
Now, Taran will have to venture out to The Veiled Lands to defeat the evil Naga armies, fending off fabled creatures and bringing back the relics to its rightful owner and place, ultimately facing the powerful enemy. The journey is however not that easy but with the help of few good people, he might just be victorious. The gateway of Moksha is the ultimate destination but can he overcome the stumbling blocks intended to keep him from completing his mission? Uncertainty can play tricks on mind and Taran is just a simple boy who wants his family safe and sound.
Join in on the epic journey of fighting evil, and mystical creatures where faith in yourself is the only solution to see the world in a new perspective.
I enjoyed so many things about this book. First of all, let's talk about the narration, it was so good and that alone made the adventure respect all the more interesting. Next up is the characters, they were resilient, resourceful and discovered bravery in the face of adversities. The world building was pretty much straight forward with a gradual and steady plot exploration. A non stop adventure that encompasses some of the most intense moments and mainstream the true and destined potential of the protagonist.
Ganesha's temple is a good light hearted read and it would definitely make an interesting tv series provided they don't alter or opt out on both the fun and actions of the book. I think this is great start to the book series. I can only imagine what the author can do to the future plotline, however the thing that amazes me the most, is unpredictable journey of the protagonist and how in the future he may face bigger and dangerous challenges. I would love to see more world expansion and various character arcs. With that monumental climax, I think this is just the beginning for Taran.
Taran came with his mother and elder brother to the beach for Ganpati Visarjan, little did he know that his life is going to change soon. He was envious of his brother's silver necklace that he got as a gift and he snatched it during a playful fight and ran away from him.
Taran got lost and his brother was nowhere to be seen, he encountered a preta on his way to a cave. When he entered the cave, he realised that it was a Ganpati temple.
To Taran's astonishment, the Ganpati was not just another idol, it was moving and started talking to him. Taran was informed that he was "a chosen one" and his purpose is to help Ganpati by retrieving his relics from the Veiled lands.
He got to know about the Temple Wars, about the Nagas and Vritra's quest to reach the Gateway of Moksha.
Thus began a story full of action, adventure and thrill. The book is engaging, interesting and written in a simple language. The cover is colourful and vibrant. The plot is nice and the story is entertaining. A good and light read for people of all ages but I think teens will enjoy it more!

📖....
Out of all the mythology books I've read, this is my favorite book. This book is the first book in " The Temple War Series" I want to read the next part of this.
The story is around a boy named Taran. On the last immersion day of Ganesh Chaturthi, he swims away from his 3-year-old brother Kartik on the Mumbai beach, pulls a pandal from Kartik's neck, and rushes to meet Lord Ganesha. This event completely changes the life of Taran. After some time Taran finds himself in a cave that was decorated with lots of Deepak. There he talks to someone who was Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha sends Taran on a mission and also asks him to save his family who had been kidnapped.
On which mission did Lord Ganesh send Taran? Will Taran be able to complete the mission of Lord Ganesha? Will Taran save our family?
Don't want to spoil the story by telling about the mission. You have to read the whole book to learn about the mission and what happened next.
Author Rohit has done a very good job. The book's cover page and the title match story which is very entertaining. The language of the book is very simple which is very easy to read.
Ganesha's Temple by Rohit Gaur is the first book in the Temple War Series. It is an epic odyssey inspired by Hindu Mythology. The story begins with the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at our protagonist, Taran Sharma's house. Just like any other teenager, Taran is enjoying the festivities when suddenly, things take a wrong turn. His family is taken hostage by the pretas (creatures of the dead). And to top it all, he's has been charged with a mission to the Veiled Lands to retrieve what was stolen from Lord Ganesha himself! Now, to save his family and complete his mission, Taran sets on an epic journey that may lead to devastating consequences. The only thing that could save him is to have faith in himself. Rohit Gaur has given a new take on how Hindu Mythology should be told. The plot is quite interesting for both children and adults. I liked the description of all places on the map. Overall, the author has done great work in putting together this book and I am eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.
This is a brilliant fictional plot inspired by the Hindu mythology itself. I love when the Indian writers focus on our mythology and come up with an amazing retelling or a new tale. The plot begins on the last day of Ganesh Chaturthi in the house of a common teenager's house in Mumbai. Like any regular teen, our protagonist, Taran Sharma was having fun with his family but with a series of events he end up with one of the most unexpected journey and met someone he couldn't even imagine to see in real life. Taran funds himself to be on a journey set by the lord Ganesha, himself. The lord is standing next to him, guiding him throughout the hardships. It's a great mixture of adventure and thriller along with elements from mythology. I loved the narration of the book, it can be enjoyed by a young reader too. The language used is lucid. It's a well paced plot with easy and simple words, making it a comfortable read for all age groups.
This is the first book of the Temple War series. It consist of 200 pages and 18 chapters. I really liked the eye catching cover of the book and the maps in the beginning. The story is about Taran, a little boy from Mumbai, who is assigned an important responsibility by Ganesha Himself! While Taran embarked on a totally unfamiliar adventure in an unknown world with danger lurking in every corner, he must keep in mind that his family is held captive by the Pretas. Will Taran be able to succeed? Even if he does, at what cost? The storyline is really interesting and the language is very simple. There are a lot of characters, which might seem confusing if not read properly. The ending is quite satisfying but ends in a cliffhanger because of course, it is a series. The book teaches the power of self empowerment and faith, in a really interesting way. Highly recommended for everyone especially between 9 to 14 years.
What an adventurous ride filled with characters from our own Hindu Mythology. Cheers to the author's imagination for creating a magical world and filling it with twists and suspenseful events all through the book!
A 13 year old boy, always bullied by his elder brother is chosen as the savior of the world and everything beyond by Deity Ganesha and the remaining Devas, this young boy should believe in his fate and take the help of his new friends to travel into mystic lands and fight the unknown evil.
What a fantastic creation! I immensely enjoyed reading the book. I'd read it in a single sitting and wanted more of it and can't wait for the author to release more books in the series.
Also, I'd highly recommend it if you're a fan of movies like Shazam, Maze Runner and other SciFi and Comics. My brother who is a mad fan of all the above now has my copy of the book and is having a blast reading it!
First of all I really liked the cover of the book ,its amazing and catchy. This is the first book in the temple war series. The author rohit gaur written the book in marvelous way.main characters in the book are taran, ganesha and mushika.
In this book we can see the journey of taran ,An Young boy who is running to save his family.Faith is one human characteristic that does not allow for compromise. That is, either one possesses it or does not. Those that do possess faith generally lead blessed, fun-filled lives, despite the various trials and tribulations encountered along the way. They usually have a healthy regard and utmost respect for the power of Creator of the Universe. We can see such situations in tarans life. The writing style of the author is simple. I really enjoyed And liked this book and recommended to everyone.
What an amazing surprise! I wasn't expecting the book to be anywhere close to being this good. I thought it might be solely for entertaining young kids. But, luckily I got this book when I was searching for something to read to my nephew.
I don't really know how much he enjoyed it, since this was his bed-time story (listened in parts), I definitely enjoyed the ride Taran went through! What a mystical world the author has created. It almost felt like enjoying a screenplay.
Having said that, I'd definitely want to see this book getting adapted as a big-screen movie, in 3D, may I add! It's gonna be a delight for kids. Such pure world. I wish I got to read it during my school days, could have fallen in love with reading sooner!
Finally, if you love mythologies and fantasies, this book is definitely for you!
Taran a 13-year-old suddenly entered into a mysterious alley while playing with his brother. He was shocked to see the unknown location in the middle of nowhere. He meets the lord of everything, Ganesha and was assigned a task to complete that is to bring back the weapons of the god from Veiled Lands to avoid the misuse of the weapons by Nagas. Taran comes to know that his family was captured by Pretas and he can only save them when he finishes this mission. All he can do now is Believe in himself. This is an adventurous book for middle grade and young adults. This is all about fighting the mystical characters and evil, where believing in yourself is the only thing you can do. This was motivational. The narration style of the author was so good. It was easily understandable. The way author converted all those mythical characters like Mushika (Lord Ganesha’s vagana) into super heroes is commendable. This will be a great book for all mythology lovers and middle grades.
The story revolves around Taran Sharma, a common boy of Mumbai who was celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with his family on the bays. As the story goes on and he finds himself in an isolated place where he met Ganesha and his adventurous journey to the veiled lands starts. The scenes and characters are well developed by the author. The story is quite engrossing and fast paced. The cover of this book is so beautiful and eye catching. The book is full of adventurous that it will keep on thrilling you. Definitely a recommendation for all. Ratings: 5/5✨
A fantastic mythological adventure for children and young adults!
Ganesha's Temple follows the story of Taran Sharma, a young boy who dreams to leave his boring life behind. During Ganpati Visarjan, he gets separated from his family and ends up in a magical new world. He meets Ganesha and decides to help him get his powers back to save his family from the evil forces. What follows is an engrossing adventure filled with creatures of the night, perilous tasks and traitors. GT brings Hindu mythology to life for readers all over the world!
Rohit Gaur brings Hindu mythology to children in this new venture. His prose is easy to understand and will appeal to the fans of Percy Jackson. The first book in the series, Ganesha's Temple is part of the Temple Wars series and I'm looking forward to the next book enthusiastically!
“Ganesha’s Temple”, by Rohit Gaur, is a great book to introduce young readers to Hindu culture. When the rebels decide to attack during a festival in honor of Ganesha, Tarun is forced to run for his life. Meanwhile, the safety of his entire family is jeopardized. When Ganesha, the mystical being himself, appears to Tarun in his hour of need, the boy is given an offer he cannot deny. Sweep into the Veiled Lands, a mysterious and fantastical world with unique creatures, Tarun is given the quest of finding three magical objects. The future of both worlds and of his own mother rests on his shoulders.
Rohit managed to create a book using beautiful words to created vivid scenarios. However, sometimes I believe that the language became too rich, with an excessive use of adverbs and adjectives which made the descriptions drag on. Additionally, the seriousness of the political setting in the Bare Lands seemed to contrast a lot with the rather childish view of the Veiled Lands where all inhabitants have reptilian faces or are covered in fur or feathers. Nevertheless, the danger is felt in all locations throughout the book, creating a constant sense of suspense. Foreshadowing is also used incredibly well throughout the novel, without revealing too much information, while the book itself ends with a fantastic cliffhanger that surely leaves the reader thirsty for more.
I think that “Ganesha’s Temple” was a great start to the “Temple Wars” series. Set in a contemporary environment with real conflicts, it still provides the magical twist by introducing the reader to the mystical Hindu world. It brings to light serious themes such as religion, family bonds, grief, political tension, war, the importance of wisdom, righteousness, persistence and the need to believe in ourselves. All these are essential for a good YA novel and “Ganesha’s Temple” sure fits the bill.
a beautiful book for young readers. It's a story of Taran who is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi parts away from his family while they are on the beach for Visarjan. Taran finds himself in a strange place, where he was charged with the mission by Lord Ganesha. Where was he? And why? What was the mission about?.
It's a different story with an intriguing plot that young readers will enjoy. A smooth paced story with a crisp narration and an engaging writing style. With each chapter, the story gets interesting making the readers curious.
I liked how the story unfolds. Not to forget Ganesha's guiding light and Taran's faith and will to complete the mission. It's an adventurous journey to the Veiled Lands, a journey of faith and spirit of not giving up.
I loved the unique storyline of the book. The way the author described the war between two lands, the way he explained it with the maps makes this book more fascinating. Not to forget a remarkable climax that will amaze you.
The characters are well developed by the author. I enjoyed reading conversations between Taran and Ganesha.
It's a book for kids 9 years and above. Enjoy the world of adventures with this beautiful book. The author did a. Wonderful job. Can't wait to read more books by the author.
The book is a combo of mythology, sci-fi and fantasy genre. The author has tried to mix all this to weave a beautiful plot that is not only interesting but thrilling as well.
Our protagonist here is a teenager Taran whose life changes when he discovers that he has been chosen and entrusted with a mission by none other than Lord Ganesha. What is the mission? and how he completes it is what the story all about.
The cover is attractive, language is simple, characters are well placed and the writing style is good. The plot is gripping and has been planned in a way that both children and adults can enjoy reading it. The maps at the beginning is very helpful and makes it easy to connect to the story.
Though the narration is good I felt that at some places it turned monotonous. Also the fonts used are smaller compared to the standard one.
Overall an adventurous and exciting read. I recommend it to all age groups....
I thought it was so cool to see into Hindi culture like this. I'm fascinated by different cultures so I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. I think a book like this will make people respect other people's cultures the way they should. This was a great start to an interesting series and I can't wait to see where Rohit takes this series.
Tarun Sharma. 14 years old. An ordinary kid leading a normal life aside from the fact that his father is the CM of Kashmir. He was a pretty normal kid, living a peaceful life. Going to school, doing his homework, fighting with his sibling, the usual. Until one day his life got turned upside down. A series of incidents triggered by a bomb explosion , threw tarun and his mother and their peaceful life into a sitch of chaos and carnage. But this would've been a different story if tarun didn't end up escaping and coming in front of a cave. That's when his life took a whole new turn. This is one where Lord Ganesha, the God of wisdom, startings and endings, the remover of obstacles, is weakened and stripped off his goldly weapons. The lands of the gods, the veiled lands is taken over by evil serpentine after enslaving the Gods. Ganesha being the Guardian of one of the bridges which connect the veiled lands and the land we live in, the bare lands, still stubbornly stands to protect the passage way so no evil might pass to the bare lands. But he's growing weaker by the day. Ganesha summoned Tarun to entrust him with an important mission. A quest to find and retrieve Lord's weapons from the veiled lands. From finding the places where the serpentine hid them and to getting the weapons back safely. How will Tarun get the weapons back before a week's deadline? Transformations, belief, strength. He gains it all as he travels and trains with his allies Galerest and Radigar. One important mission. An unknown land. Opression and rebellion. Tarun has to deal with everything and pull off this heist from under the serpentine noses. A very difficult quest lays ahead. Only with courage and an anxious heart and a strong unwavering ally he steps forward. Will he be able to finish his quest on time? Will he be able to save those precious to him? Will he be able to get over his obstacles and surpass them? I loved discovering answers to these questions. The book frankly made me happy. The story reminded me of a genre i hold dear to my heart and seeing Indian mythology fiction molded into a sweet adventure filled story made me absolutely happy. Smiling when i started reading it and smiling while i finished it. It's sure to make you feel giddy. The characters are not exactly what had me hooked. It's the potential the story has which had me wanting more of it. The later part of the book was very engaging. Some lines i Ioved from the book: "Through prana came the first beings of light and dark. A Duality that exists whenever life takes form. "
"The soul is spirit. A sword cannot pierced it, fire cannot burn it, water cannot melt it, wind cannot dry it"
Potent characters. Complelling story for a first book. I'm excited to see what the author has to offer for the sequel of this Temple War series. If you've read Percy Jackson, Magnus Chase, Kane Chronicles, Heros of olympus, you'll enjoy this book.
I wish time travel was equally possible in my real life the way it was possible in Taran's life. Filled with fun, adventure, mysteries, and fantasies, the author Rohit Gaur comes up with his first book - "Ganesha's Temple" in the 'Temple War Series'.
In this story, Taran is a living example of an unconfident and not so religious 13 year old guy who is dejected and mocked by all among his family and friends yet chosen by Ganesha himself for a greater purpose purpose. Unknown of his mission on the planet, Taran takes his first leap on faith in his friend Ganesha, when reckoned, in a mysterious and surreptitious way. Having encountered Ganesha face to face, Taran realizes that although he has an option to not opt for the greater mission of saving Ganesha's life and his family's life and above all saving both the worlds of Gods - "The Veiled Lands" and that of humans -"The Bare Lands" yet he could never back off without attending his big calling after all God never wants a 'no' as an answer! And from there the rollercoaster journey with greatest of the heights and lowest of the abysses sets in the life of Taran when he is made to time travel into the land of Gods. Backed by Ganesha's allies, Taran makes several new and loyal friends in the new place, unlike when he was in his own place of humans! Strange isn't it?
But above all the biggest question is: Will Taran be able to accomplish his mission of defeating the enemies of the Veiled Lands - the Nagas and the Ausura Lord and help in restoring the power and victory in the hands of Ganesha which would also restore the victory in the Bare Lands? Will Taran be ever able to travel back to his own world to meet his family? What avatar will Taran transcend into so as to attain his super powers in the land of gods?
Unaware of all the above questions and even the answers to each of these, Taran has no other option than to only rely on the last words of Ganesha - ' Have Faith'!
With an easy language and well chosen plot and climaxes, I really enjoyed how the author made me do the fictional time travel along with his fun-filled story telling. In fact every chapter revealed a page turning moment that made the reading experience so enthralling. However, I personally felt as if the end was in a rush and hence appeared a bit bland to me. May be because this book is just the first part in the series of the Temple Wars. But still I felt something to be lacking in the end that made it abrupt and fast paced than it should have been otherwise.
4/5 Genre: Children's Fiction, Indian Mythology, Young Adult, Mythological Fiction.
"Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when dawn is still dark."
Sanatana Dharma is the world's oldest religion looking back from the most ancient history into eternity. Yet it is also the most futuristic with a view of the universe as boundless in time and space, with innumerable worlds all held in an infinite Consciousness.
Well, Ganesha temple by Rohit Gaur, first book in the series Temple war is one such read which revolves around importance of Dharma and Karma. You don't need to be a Hindu, to love Ganesha. The book is a perfect amalgamation of science fiction, fantasy, and mythology.
Faith, Taran, he told himself. You're supposed to have faith.
Not a lot is going right for Taran Sharma. First, he stole his annoying brother's necklace and ran off into the night. Then, his family got taken hostage by spindly creatures of the dead. And to top it all, he's just been charged with a mission by Lord Ganesha himself! Now, in order to rescue his family from the hands of the preta, he has to undertake a journey more fantastical than he can begin to comprehend. As Taran embarks on an epic voyage that may lead to disastrous consequence, he realizes that having faith, especially in himself, might be harder than he was led to believe. Dive into this riveting adventure to the Veiled Lands, replete with evil Naga armies, mythical creatures and a supervillain who will stop at nothing to reach the elusive Gateway of Moksha.
It is a short read which can be finished in one or two sitting. The first few chapters are a bit slow and it took me a while to get into it. Plot being a simple story doesn't take time to sink in but considering this is the first book of the series and there was a lottt to explain, author could have researched a bit more, making it an informative read. Setting of the plot has been done flawlessly, there are hardly any grammatical error. Overall, a promising read for teens who love fiction. I am expecting the next part to bring an unputdownable experience.

Okay! Firstly on a small note, I think sci- fi and mythology has always been a great combination if presented well with a strong plot and characters for a hungry reader. I'm sure theres an army of book lovers who love to read this gente and that includes me! Now lets dive into the review. . . . What better than getting chosen by Lord Ganesha himself on an adventurous mission! Right?? Right. But would that be soo easy? Going on such a path not knowing the consequences but just with faith is what Taran does. However, it is during this journey that he realises that holding on to that faith both on god and himself (especially) is much harder than he thought!
Snatching his brother's pendant in a rage during their fight at the seashore where they had just done Ganesh visarjan, Taran flees a little far in an attempt to not get caught by his annoying older brother. However, in the evening rush of the visarjan and with the huge amout of crowd he gets lost from his way and reaches a lonely lane. Little did he know, everything was gonna change from here. That he was gonna meet Lord Ganesha directly. A cherry on top is that his family is taken hostage by a Preta and the on way to save them is completing the mission given by Ganesha.
And thats how Taran embarks onto this adventurous and dangerous journey. How he overcomes the hurdles and whether he can stand firm on his belief while going through this is the question. Join Taran on this ride to hold of this wonderful story.
This is the first part of the Temple war series and I'm eager for the second part to know 'what next?'. The book had all the elements needed, theres the thrill, the fun part, the adventurous part, the mysterious part, etc. The narration though gripping, there is a slight lag at some parts of the story. Thats the only downpart otherwise its amazing. There are many characters and the map at the beginning of the book is quite helpful. It actually gets one excited for the story. Great one by the author. Waiting for the next part!
This is the primary book in the Temple Wars Series and it is a mix of folklore and science fiction which I believe is an extraordinary mix. The story centers around a little youngster Taran, who is picked by in all honesty Lord Ganesha for a more noteworthy mission.
The story begins with the event of Ganesh Chathurthi and Taran's family partaking in Visargan. At the point when Taran's senior sibling Karthik intentionally aggravates him, Taran grabs Karthik's pendant and fled from him just to meet Lord Ganesha who doles out him the most basic assignment which is per him just Taran can do. What's more, to top everything Taran's family has been abducted by Preta, and Ganesha educates Taran that he can save his family just on the off chance that he finishes his central goal.
Will Taran go on a mission proposed by Lord Ganesha? Will he save his family? Would he be able to change his life for a mission which he isn't even mindful of? Can he prevail in his main goal?
The story was extremely grasping all along and it scared me till the end. It is loaded up with experience, rush, and fun and the portrayal style made it more fascinating to peruse. There are many characters in the story with everyone adding to it somehow or the other. If you love perusing science fiction, dream, and folklore books this can be a decent perused for you and it's appropriate for all age gatherings. I cherished perusing this book and I prescribe it to everybody.

✨ Ganesha's temple,an Epic Odyssey is the first book of the temple war series. The book is an adventurous mythological fiction with a tinge of Sci-Fi in it.
✨Story revolves around Taran (the protagonist),a teen boy who is just too irritated with his life. His big brother is always a bully to him and he feels not even his parents loves him much. His big brother was always superior and Taran thought he is an average in front of him. He was so envious of his big brother.
✨ On the day of Ganesh chaturthi when again his big brother tried to humiliate him, he decided to give it back to him and snatched his brother's pendant(which was given by his parents to his brother),and ran away.
✨ Soon he found himself lost, when he got his sense back he found himself in a cave.
✨He realised it was a Ganpati temple. He went stunned when the Ganpati Idol started moving and talking to him.
✨ Lord Ganesha told him how he is not just an "ordinary boy", and is chosen for a great mission. He was told about temple wars and about vritra's and nagas and their approach toward the gateway of moksh.
✨As an average boy,Taran found it hard to believe in himself, thats when Lord Ganesha led him to believe in him.
✨ From here the great fantastical tale starts. Will Taran pass the mission !? Will Lord Ganesha help him in this mission? Will Taran be able to save his family from pretas and nagas. If yes how?Read the book to know it all.
✨ The story is full of thrill, action adventure and magical moments .
✨It is interestingly written in a simple language and did I mention it is rich in great vocabulary too? The plot, language and the mesmerizing cover makes the book a happy read.
✨Concluding all it's a light read.Especially children and teens are going to love it. If you are someone who loves indian mythology,go with it for once. Eagerly waiting for the next book of the series.
🔱 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 “What is faith? Believing in something. But most importantly, faith means believing in something without proof that it is true.”
It was the last day of Ganesh Chaturthi and Taran woke up to the aroma of dosas wafting through his door. Taran, a boy in his teenage days who enjoyed the sights and sounds of the festival but dreaded the inevitable chiding from his mother for his lack of peity, father’s disappointment at his disinterest in academics, and the smug superiority of his elder brother Kartik. Kartik was gifted an expensive silver necklace with an Om pendant while Taran got a slim pocket sized book bound in heavy red paper and an old fashioned fountain pain. Taran wanted the necklace too so during the Visarjan, he snatched and ran off into the night escaping Kartik.
Moments later, dazed and disoriented, Taran lifted himself as he blinked his eyes open and found himself in a strange alley. Fear dripped Taran and panicked; sets foot in Preta! Taran glanced up at the Preta, ran away and found himself in a cave. Taran was charged with a mission by Lord Ganesha in the cave Ganesha himself domiciled. Meanwhile Taran’s family got taken by hostage by spindly creatures of the dead. To rescue his family from the hands of the Preta, Taran had to undertake a journey. He believed harder and had faith diving into adventure. Will Taran be able to rescue his family? What was the task given by Lord Ganesha? Oh the silver chain put figure to Taran’a life!
Having faith is cardinal. There’s always a sphere beyond the control of humans, and only pure hearts have control over it. I am not a great lover of myths and mythologies by but I loved the volume. Though sporadically it dipped out of the way, it stretched captivating. The narration dives readers to atypical world. This will punch within your heart; it did mine too.
🔱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ∙ For people who love mythological fiction ∙ For people who have faith in God and supernatural stuffs.

It also gives some important messages like to accomplish anything in life we should first have faith in ourselves. This is a good read for anyone who loves mythological fiction.
FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF "Ganesha's Temple" by Rohit Gaur
Genre: Fiction (Fantasy, mythology, sci-fi)
Rating - 4/5
QOTD: Do you love reading series or stand-alone books?
"Ganesha's Temple" by Rohit Gaur. This is the first book from the Temple War series. This book is unputdownable. It introduces us to the boy named Taran Sharma, who is in the Ganapati Visarjan in Mumbai. While his brother Karthik irritates Taran, he snatched the pendent on Kritick's neck and ran away. Later he will get to know that he was in dark caves where diyas were placed all over, and then comes none other than our Ganesha, with whom our little thirteen-year-old boy taran had a conversation. He has talked about various things with Ganesha. But then comes the real story when the Ganesha passes a mission to the little boy Taran. So I don't like to let you know that mission because that's where the story takes a turn and makes into this beautiful book that I have read. . This book has its own aura that makes you stick with it. Firstly the part where the author has introduced Ganesha, his writing style when that episode is taking place is just beyond words, and the feel you get while you read that scene is downright exquisite. There are multiple characters in this book, and all of them were so beautifully designed. The maps which were presented at the start of the book are so interesting. The language is lucid, and the narration is thrilling, and I am amazed by the writing style at some points of the book, but I think the book needs a bit more editing and make the long paragraphs which are monotonous at some places and make them short so a reader won't feel bored.
On the last day of Ganesh Chaturthi ( festival of worship of Lord Ganesha), after Visarjan (immersion of the Lord's idol) Taran gets lost only to wake up to be hounded by the Pretas (evil beings). He is saved by the Lord Ganesha Himself and taken to the mystical and majestic Ganesha's temple. Here Lord Ganesha explains the truth of our existence, balance of the cosmos and the danger lurking just around the corner. He then gives Taran an extraordinary task for which he has been specifically chosen. It is his responsibility now to save the Humanity.
Taran's journey is not that simple. He has to go through difficult levels to retrieve that which is heavily guarded by the mystical, dangerous creatures. His family is also in danger, he has limited time to complete the task or he himself will be lost, forever.
Taran is just a 13yr old boy. Why has he been chosen? What can a teenager do, when the Gods themselves have failed? All these doubts muddle his anxious mind. But Lord Ganesha tells him to have faith in himself as that is the highest power anyone can possess. With basic knowledge and power that he can yield, Taran sets out.
This is the first book in the Temple war series. The narration is fast paced and intriguing as not much time has been wasted behind the built-up. Language is mature and colloquial.
Mythological fictions are the adaptions of the age old epics, which can be too much to process if not written well. Thankfully this one was just the perfect amount of mystery with a fresh plot which can be enjoyed if you like this genre. Judging by the first book, the series seems promising.
