A vicious demonic plot. A curse decades in the making. An epic love that burns hotter than the very fires of hell…
Charlotte...
All Charley’s nightmares are real.
Demons. Dark witches. Her murderous uncle.
With her soul bound to an ancient demon lord and her sister taken captive by a monster, hope is in short supply.
But Charley will not go down without a fight. Not when it comes to her sister, and not when it comes to the vampire king who’s claimed her heart.
Even if it means siding with a brutal enemy from her past.
Even if it means making a choice that will alter the course of her life… for eternity.
Dorian....
Dorian never wanted his father’s crown or the secrets that came with it.
He never wanted to fall in love with the seductive stranger he’d ravaged in a closet, either.
But fate had other plans.
Now, with the enemies of House Redthorne lurking in every shadow, demons threatening to destroy his city, and an ancient lord of hell laying claim on the woman who’s set Dorian’s very soul on fire, the vampire king has only one mission:
Burn. Them. All.
Even if it means betraying his father’s memory.
Even if it means making the darkest sacrifice of his immortal life...
Sarah Piper is a witchy, Tarot-card-slinging paranormal romance and urban fantasy author. Through her signature brew of dark magic, heart-pounding suspense, and steamy romance, Sarah promises a sexy, supernatural escape into a world where the magic is real, the monsters are sinfully hot, and the witches always get their magically-ever-afters.
Readers have dubbed her work “super sexy,” “imaginative and original,” “off-the-walls good,” and “delightfully wicked in the best ways,” a quote Sarah hopes will appear on her tombstone.
Originally from New York, Sarah now makes her home in northern Colorado with her husband (though that changes frequently) (the location, not the husband), where she spends her days sleeping like a vampire and her nights writing books, casting spells, gazing at the moon, playing with her ever-expanding collection of Tarot cards, binge-watching Supernatural (Team Dean!), and obsessing over the best way to brew a cup of tea.
A good end to the series, but felt like the action and the plot lost the rhythm and it was gradually getting less interesting.
However a good ending to the series, the book ties up everything nicely and I am glad I read this series because it's a very good paranormal romance, just wish the side plot to do with the demons was a little less confusing and perhaps a bit more engaging.
What an ending to this trilogy!! Dorian and Charley are just a great couple and I loved the conclusion to their story. I gave the book 4.5/5 stars because there were times I wasn’t invested in the story, but overall I really did love it. I’ve been telling everyone about this series and I’m so happy some of my friends are going to check it out soon.
BUT I cannot wait for Gabriel’s books 👀 we love the classic enemies to lovers!!!
I really enjoyed my read of this book. After the ending of the second book, I knew that I needed to see the conclusion to Charley's and Dorian's story. And I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed every single second of this book. Although this book left some loose ends that are going to be tied in the latter half of the series, I am ready to follow Gabriel and his love interest in the next three books. This just ended up tying up Dorian and Charley's story with a nice little bow. I still highly recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a good, adult vampire romance.
This book is an amazing read that you will not be able to put down till the last word is read. It moves along at a pace that makes for an easy read. the characters will make you feel as though you know them and that you are there with them and you want to help them no matter what. This story will keep you reading till the end and then you are wondering what will you read next. This is a must read.
This is the final book of Dorian’s and Charlotte’s story, but not the end of the New York vampire royals. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m glad. I really did not like the first book and was surprised that I went ahead with book #2. I’m glad I did, as the books have been getting better.
I was invested in the storyline, even though it was a bit of work I finally got invested with our main characters. Which is odd because their chemistry was sizzling, even in the first book. There’s more family dynamics and secrets uncovered in this book. I mean serious secrets. Turns out Dorian’s father was a real fucking asshole. With his brother Malcom a close second. But also, lots of action and intrigue.
I’m looking forward to Gabriel, Aiden and Cole’s stories. I have a feeling our Gabriel is going to end up with Jacinda the witch and Aiden looks like he may end up with Sasha, which I do find a bit disappointing. I LOVE Aiden, and sorry, but she’s not good enough for him. I’m kinda hoping that our artist and wolf shifter, Cole ends up with their newly bonded witch, Isabella. At least those are my predictions. I do recommend the series, but with the caveat that the first book may turn you off, but keep plowing through. It really is worth it. If you would have told me I would recommend this series after the first book, I would have told you that you’re crazy.
The devil is in the details, and you don't want to miss a second of this roller coaster, explosion of an ending. By now, you know all or most of the players. Charley and Dorian are now up against some of the same supernatural beings, but through their strong love--and a small army to protect them--their odds at survival are pretty good. Or so I thought.
I loved how the supernatural stories were weaved within Charley's passion of art. She thought she knew a lot, but turns out, she only knew part of the stories behind some very popular and obscure art and artifacts. Her kickass attitude made me love her so much, and Dorian kind of liked it, too. Those two were fated centuries ago, and hopefully they can have their time together before it's too late. The demons, witches, dark witches, greys, shifter wolves, were a lot at first. But as the story progresses, they're seamlessly woven into the story, it doesn't feel like you're forcing yourself to remember who's who.
This was a beautiful love story, but it took a lot of time, pain and sorry for Dorian and Charley to finally be together. Totally worth it.
Of course, I'm deeply in love w/Dorian, but I've got mad crushes on his brothers--most of them, and his close friend Cole. I was expecting just vampires, and Sarah Piper gave me so much more. I'm not a huge fan of PNR, but she has certainly increased my interest with her amazing writing and perfect choice of narrators. I can't say enough about Shane East and Mackenzie Cartwright's narration in this series.
I can't wait to see who's next in the House of Redthorne to get a story.
“Dark Obsession: A Vampire Romance (Vampire Royals of New York Book 3) By Sarah Piper pgs. 354 from Kindle may vary Fantasy/DOM/SUB Mature Readers Only. Ms. Piper has done it again wrapping you in a world of luscious men/women who are out to save the not only the family but also the supernatural community. This is a continuation of the first book and though you could read it separately I would encourage you not to since it involves Charlotte (Charley) D’Amico, a human “thief” who has been in the “family” business since she was a kid. And Dorian Redthorne, who is Vampire Royalty. In this third book you have the culmination of things going on in Books 1 and 2 with the different factions both within the family and within the supernatural community coming together to make for a stronger force.
This is where you see the love of family, friends as well as lovers come together for the good of all. This is another book which you can’t put down as you travel down the paths in the fight against good vs. evil. You really do need a warm blanket, your drink of choice as you sip through the chapters of this story.
I must say that I loved the whole series. I enjoyed reading all 3 of them. Smutty scenes were just delightfully perfect. I even cried at the end because of Malcolm. I honestly believe that he never betrayed them. He simply wanted Darius happy and I believe that he “befriended” the enemy just to gain info from them. When Aiden said what Malcolm endured in order to save Darius, he should know that Malcolm wouldn’t betray them. I felt really sorry for him that it had to be him. His last words said it all. “I’m sorry...”, “it was the only way...” He wanted happiness for their family and protect them as he promised their mom and so he decided to sacrifice himself for them. Mb I’m naive, but I believe in this. Anw, I loved the Klaus Michaelson reference or the twilight. I was laughing. I knew that of course she will become a vamp, but the way it happened, well I honestly enjoyed it. I mean listening to it. Whatever, I think that both narrators did a very good job. And the end I give a book 5/5 stars. I just loved it.

Loved it !!! Loved our broody vampires and the strong confident Charley that was just as tough as them and all thanks to Dori. There was definitely more action in this book what with the war with the demons and the other vampires. Dori and Charley are still fighting for their love and being together what with her being betrothed to a demon lord and the uprise against the Redthorne house and his brother's disapproval of the relationship cause it makes him weak. But Dori and Charley know that they are it for each other and they will do whatever it takes to stay together. It was sad what happened to Mac but I was happy that everything gotten clarified like what happened 50 yrs ago and what happened when they turned and what caused the fraction between the brothers but most of all I was Happy to see another side of Gabriel and looking forward to reading his trilogy.
It was definitely better than Dark Seduction. Lot of stupid twists in the story. Them almost having sex whole trying to search Estes' home. WTH. Sasha kidnapped, and he was out in the city, sniffing shampoo #sexysniffer WTH. I did have questions from Book 2 that were answered, so I'll call this book Redemption. Like how did dear old dad steal the thrown from House Kendrick. There are lots of twists and subplots. I was not sure that the author would be able to clean it up. All in all, I was not as disappointed as I was with Book 2. Lots of spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 Performance 4 stars (narrators had better material this go round) Story 3.5 (so much going on!) Note: I would love to see Aiden get his own story.
This was the conclusion of Charlotte and Dorian’s story and I think it was entertaining, suspenseful, exciting and emotional. What Dorian had to face with his past and with his brothers, especially Malcolm, was heartbreaking. I absolutely love Aiden and how loyal and supportive he was. Charlotte proved to still be a strong, intelligent young woman. Her meeting with Rogozin was enlightening and she did a great job there that sets their future up for new things. I really enjoyed this series and this new twist to supernaturals. I’m looking forward to Gabrielle’s book release.
Dark Obsession: A Vampire Romance (Vampire Royals of New York Book 3)
This was spectacular that I was hooked from page 1… love 💕 the author, since her 1st book series, The Rebel Witches, been reading every series since the…… I could not put it down OMG Dorian is so hot and Charley is so saucy, strong and sweet … love Sasha, just hope everything goes okay and they can be best friends again, hoping to read about Aiden and her, so much chemistry there…. Just my opinion…lol 😂😂😂 Marvelous supernatural steamy romance and which I definitely recommend it if you are hopelessly romantic and love some sex scenes.. Definitely recommend this book and series…
Dark Obsession delivers a gripping blend of passion, danger, and dark magic as Charlotte and Dorian face their deadliest challenge yet. With her soul bound to a demon lord and her sister held captive, Charlotte must make impossible choices—especially when her heart belongs to the ruthless vampire king. Dorian, torn between duty and desire, is ready to wage war to keep her safe, even if it means betraying his father’s legacy. As enemies close in and a sinister plot unfolds, their love will be tested in ways neither expected. A thrilling paranormal romance filled with intense chemistry, high stakes, and a love that defies the darkness.
After all the buildup in the first two books, and the hurried explanations and revelations in the first part of this, book 3, the conclusion to Charlotte and Dorian's story was predictable.
I am glad to say that the gratuitous and tedious sex scenes were not as prevalent in this book, so you at least get to focus more on the plot unfolding. Unfortunately by the time the Big Scene arrived, I was getting tired of the repeated "mea culpa" guilt and anguish of our main characters.
I would have enjoyed it more had the author not tried to make it so over the top angst ridden.
Overall not a bad trilogy, if you don't mind repetition and drawn out explanations.
This series came up on my FB page, so I decided to take a chance. Great decision!!! The first three books is about Dorian, the Newly appointed, King of the Vampires and the rest of the Paranormal races. Dorian meets and falls in love with Charley, who is a thief. Between Dorian trying to adjust to his roll as King, dealing with his estranged brothers and trying to figure out Charley's secrets, he truly has his hands full. I really enjoyed this series and looking forward to Gabriel's, story, which are the next three books in the series.
I enjoyed this series as a whole, but probably this one the least of all. I'm not really sure if there was one particular thing, but I found myself continually looking to see how much longer I had in the book. To me, that is never a good sign. The story arc was completed, that was good. But, with that being said, there were parts of it that pulled me out of the story. I do have to say this....this was DEFINITELY the most unusual turning of a vampire that I have ever read. EVER.
All in all it was interesting. I did see that there is another trilogy out that is a spinoff of this one and starts with Gabriel being the main character. I might take a break and then come back to it. We'll see...
Man what a trilogy. This series was absolutely fantastic. Dorian and Charley were scorching hot and I truly couldn’t get enough. These two went through so very much to finally get their HEA and what an intense and exciting journey it was.
Between an infuriating uncle, crazed demons and the possibility of a demon lord coming for Charley, there was so much that kept me on the edge of my seat and I loved it.
Shane East and Mackenzie Cartwright knocked this series out of the park. Their narration was everything I could want in a book.
Will they find Sasha before Rudy decides to do something to her? What will happen to Malcolm? Will Dorian restore the dining room that had his mother's 📷picture, that over looked the 🌹rose garden she loved? Will the New 👑 King and all his Princes brothers and his friend finally put the past behind them? This author is getting more into the the story. The Vampire and his 💘 love are strongly passionate in some interesting scenes. It seems to be getting 🔥 Hotter than the first book.
Sarah Piper absolutely killed it in this final book of the series!
Wow! The power and love between Charley and Dorian is off the charts. When the brothers come together to fight for Sasha's release all hell breaks loose.
This whole series is incredible. Where all Supernatural community is up in arms. Can the Vampire King call on help to rid Charley of this terrible claim on her? So much suspense and also very hot love scenes. Loved this series. Eager to read more! Get these books! You will love them! Enjoy!
OMG! Wow, I would have never thought that person was who made that deal with the demon for charley. I loved how in this book we got to see a different side to Charley, and I loved that Dorian allowed her to open up and really find out what she could do and gave her the opportunity to realize that she was a valued member of his family. This book was a roller coaster of emotions: happiness, sadness, heartbreaking truths, to action and undying love.
I can’t wait to see how the Vampire King will be ruling the city now.
This book was more than just another naughty romance
The plot was very complicated and complex to the point that I didn’t know how the author was going to solve the problems. There was so much going on that I was hooked from the first page. The sex was used to further the plot not as a crutch for not knowing what to do and she really delivers on the story. The author also made certain to tie up all the loose ends very neatly into a worthy ending for the two of our lovers.
This series had so much promise but, frankly, I was expecting a different type of hero than who Dorian turned out to be. Much of this book and the second book was declarations of love and blah blah blah and little action. About 50% in I started just skimming the dialogue to get through it since I could tell I’ve all but lost interest. If you’re looking for a softer vampire romance, this may work for you. I guess I needed something darker.
If you loved twilight 14 years ago but now look back and say “wow that book was trash” youd be absolutely correct. So you may ask yourself what can I read to make up for the sins of the past. This series is your answer. Here comes a series that actually has all those elements of lore, a solid story that keeps you hooked AND character development!! Highly recommend.
Everything in this book went so fast, but it didn't seemed rushed or forced. I was confused for a bit with how things were wrapping up, but seeing as this was the final book for Charley and Dorian, it makes a lot more sense. As much as I love these characters and this plot line, I'm still undecided on if I will finish the series. I think I fell in love with these characters in particular and I'm not sure if I will enjoy the rest of the series as much as I did the first three books.
Just wow!!! I am beyond in love with this serious and am so very glad it will continue. Though I will greatly miss Dorian being the focus, I am thrilled to learn more about Gabriel. I can not put these books down and they will forever have a place on my shelf, as I know they will be enjoyed over and over again!
