Daisy Creek Brides #3

The Hopeful Mail-Order Bride’s Destiny

Rate this book
When all else fails, move west and become a mail order bride.
After an unfortunate scandal robs her of all decent standing in society, Daphne can see no better alternative for her future than to go against her family's wishes and become a mail order bride.

That is until she receives a letter from her betrothed’s younger brother, saying that her husband-to-be, Dallas, has skipped town with another woman.

As her hopes of starting over as a married woman begin to collapse, Daphne decides that her only option is to go through with her plan to move west, to the small, remote township of Daisy Creek.

It is there she meets Parker, a local saloon owner and her runaway-groom’s younger brother, who was left to clean up his older sibling’s mess.

Daphne is immediately drawn to the tall, handsome westerner, and after seeing the pressure Parker is under, struggling to support his family’s ranch whilst keeping his saloon afloat, Daphne sees her opportunity to repay the kindness he has shown her since her arrival to Daisy Creek.

Daphne agrees to help Parker at his saloon as he focuses on tracking down his absconding older brother.

But when Parker finally manages to track Dallas down, will Daphne still want to marry him? Or will her feelings for his steadfast (and handsome) younger sibling, tempt her to choose the other brother?

The Hopeful Mail Order Bride’s Destiny is an uplifting story of love set in the romantic days of the old west. As Daphne and Parker work together to overcome the many hardships thrust upon them, is it possible for two people from different worlds to find love and happiness with each other?

I am a shameless romance addict with no intentions of ever kicking the habit. Growing up I dreamed of entertaining people and taking them on fantastical journeys with my acting abilities, until I came to the realization as a college sophomore that I had none to speak of. Another ten years would pass before I discovered a different means to accomplishing the same dream: writing stories of love and passion for addicts just like me.I have always loved romance stories and I try to tie all the elements I like about them into my writing.

Thank you to the writer for an advanced copy of the ARC.
This is book #3 in the series but each book can be read on their own. Even though characters appear from the previous books, you're not lost having not read their individual stories which is great.

My only criticism, even though it's the norm for this genre, the romance did move too slowly for me. Seriously, it was an instant attraction & it takes them until towards the end to realize they should be together. ah well!

Otherwise, it was an engaging story w/good characters and I enjoyed it.

This book is definitely a new favorite for me!  Parker is a true hero!  He's compassionate, and considerate, yet willing to uphold righteousness even at the pain it will cause his family!  Daphne's voice seemed to change about half way through.  Turning to a Southern Bell with a haughty sound.  Not my favorite voice.

This is the third book in the Daisy Creek Brides Series, a Mail-Order Bride Romance. Parker and Daphne's story is beautifully written, sweet, clean, and heartwarming. The characters are well developed. The story has a little suspense, and some twists and turns. Gina Dobbs did a good job with the narration. I like this Series!

The Hopeful Mail Order Brides Destiny

This was another great mail order bride story. Daphne had traveled to Daisy Creek to marry Dallas, but when she arrived he had left town. Parker had sent a Telegram to Atlanta to let her know Dallas was no longer there. She decided to go on to Daisy Creek, she had nothing at home. She did find happiness, enjoy their story.

To say that Daphne’s trip west was not what she was expecting might have been a major understatement. Amelia Rose gave this story plenty of drama, danger and romance along with humor and a few twists and turns. I enjoyed this book because it is different from other mail order bride books.

How was this a historical western when there’s nothing historically accurate about it!

Before I get into the historical accuracy or the lack of it. Let me start by talking about the saloon. But one thing he said he traded with the local tried liquor for firewater The native Americans didn’t make fire water, before the Europeans came they didn’t know what liquor wise… They smoke peyote but that was it. Indians referred to lick her ass firewater. So when you say they traded liquor for firewater it’s like saying they traded liquor for liquor. Then you said there was a to drink minimum. That is a bad business model in any area. Chances are this is a town of maybe 1200 people let’s say 10% go to the bar that’s 120 people and 90% of them aren’t going every day so let’s say 12 people go to the bar every day and he sells two drinks only. He would actually be paying customers a drink at his establishment. OK I want to historical accuracy back in the 17 and 18 and 19th centuries people didn’t talk a pregnancy as an every day occurrence they said they were increasing, they said they were getting a little visitor in the fall spring summer whenever another cold that let people know a baby was coming. They didn’t refer to the Baby as a baby just says the little visitor at the new comer etc. to say someone was pregnant was totally inappropriate and eluded to the couple having sex so it wasn’t done at all! Nor did they ask couples if they were going to have children and if someone had a miscarriage it wasn’t discussed at all in any form or fashion. I’m sure something is slipping my mind but I must be honest and say I didn’t finish the book. Somethings I know you have to suspend belief but if this is supposed to be historically set then it should be historically accurate. Sometimes I wish I didn’t know what I do about the wild west and women’s history because I bet if I didn’t know these books would be much better.

I received this ebook ARC from the author, on the condition that I write an honest review.
Daphne is the daughter of a wealthy family in Atlanta, but she has suffered a traumatic experience from a suitor. She decides to become a mail-order bride, and writes to a rancher from Daisy Creek. She sneaks out of town to head to meet her pen pal. When she arrives in town, she is given the news that he has run off to another town, to get married to another woman.
Parker is the local saloon owner and a younger brother of Dallas, the runaway groom. Parker is angry that his brother would abandon the family ranch and the family. When he meets Daphne, he feels sorry for her, and attempts to help her settle in Daisy Creek. Slowly Parker and Daisy develop a friendship as they work together at the saloon.
Parker gathers a group of men to help him go and find his brother. When they do find him, there is an argument, and Parker shoots Dallas. They bring him home, and keep him at the clinic to heal. Meantime Daphne’s father shows up to force her back to Atlanta, she refuses. In the night, Dallas attempts to kidnap Daphne, because her father has offered him money for her return. Another incident occurs with a tragic ending. Eventually Parker and Daphne admit their true feelings for each other, and obtain their HEA in a great epilogue to the book.
I’ve read several books written by Amelia Rose, and I’ve loved all their characters, and her beautiful way of describing the towns and the people that are surviving hardships.

Being Deceptive Can Lead to All Kinds of Problems!

Daphne was a poor little rich girl, a Southern Belle, who was accustomed to getting her way. Her father arranged a marriage for her. She wanted to choose her own husband and decided to go west as a mail order bride. She communicated with a man named Dallas, packed her trunks, and caught a train. She did not know until after her arrival that the man was offering to marry her to collect the ransom when her father sent for her to return.

Parker, who was brother to Dallas, was a rancher and saloon owner. When Daphne arrived after traveling from Atlanta to meet her husband to be, she was left at the saloon and learned that Dallas was not there. He had married a saloon girl and was living elsewhere. Daphne was upset that her husband to be had been much less than truthful in his correspondence.

Parker got this all straightened out, took Daphne to stay with his mother, and went to find his brother. Dallas did not want to be found. What a tangled web of lies and deceit! Could this situation have a happy ending? Read this book to find out. There is lots of action here. Enjoy!

Finding a bride for him self

Parker just couldn't figure out why his brother Dallas left the farm and his elderly ma when he had been writing letters to a mail order bride. After finding Dallas and a pregnant girl by the law,Parker said Dallas must be ill as he stated he would not go back or marry. The father had been writing to Dallas he offered lot of money to kidnap his daughter so he could take her Bach home. Parker tries to tell Dallas money isn't happiness but he doesn't see that, Parker and Dallas pulls their pistols and Dallas dies. Its was very entertaining, I loved it.

A dangerous West in exchange for independence

Women during this time had to be strong and determined in order to attempt a life of independence from any family member-especially any male-who tried to force their control over the woman's choices. Such was Daphnea's situation and decision to proceed to Daisy Creek after receiving a telegram from Parker advising her not to come. Lots of surprises are in store for everyone in Daisy Creek!

I get swept up in each book by this author. This one didn’t disappoint either. The characters are always believable and revisiting the townsfolk is always a plus. Daphne’s flight from her father was inspiring and Parker’s brother was the challenge I knew he would be, but the outcome was thrilling. Book gifted to me.

This is the 3rd book. I missed Jill. She was so much a part of the first 2 books. I know Jill is busy and she wouldn't be able to help Daphne learn everything. Jill needs help with her growing family. Parker's mom helped Daphne and now his mom also has Sunshine. She has 2 young ladies to help now which I know she will enjoy.

An uneasy path

This is a story of family discord. Women were not valued nor were they heard leaving suppression or escape as the choice. Bad decisions by others created problems for Parker and Daphne.

Daphne flees Atlanta after violently rebuffing her daddy-selected businessman intended and heads towards Daisy Creek to become a mail-order bride, even after she receives last minute word her Nebraskan groom is no longer available; in this clean, hopeful, lightly Christian story.
