I have yet to read a book by Brooke May that I did not just outright laugh while reading. This book is no exception to the rule. I was so excited to get my hands on this as soon as I saw the teasers. Scorching Hot Mess is an easy read with lots of aspects to it that almost anyone who loves to laugh could read this and find it absolutely enjoyable. I really loved our MC, Willow Everett. She is the definition of a hot mess lol. I found this catchy and relatable because this is often a phrase I use to describe my kiddos or myself lol. Someone is always having a hot mess kind of day in our house. I loved how this book read so fast as well even at a full length novel. I got to devour it on a sunny afternoon and it could not have been the more perfect read to lift my spirits. If you love witty rom coms and strong characters with some fun twists this is the book for you! I am excited to see what we will get next from Brooke May!

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May is a rom com and flowed well from start to end. Brooke brings her loveable, quirky, and realistic characters to life. They are believable and you become invested in them. This story has a little bit of everything in it, from drama and fun, sarcasm and drunken nights, to holly hotness and lazy boyfriends, to frustration and love and of devil besties. Brooke is really good at writing rom com and always makes me laugh out loud and getting funny looks on the bus.

Willow Everett is definitely a hot mess. She is also sassy and bold, funny, and feisty and after one drunken night her life is about to change.

I enjoy Brooke’s writing and haven’t read anything I have not liked from her. I mean who doesn’t like a blind racoon as a pet?

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May a fun five-star read. This author always makes me smile as I read their work, and this was no different. I so enjoyed this story, Willow reminded me so much of someone I know, and she knows I think she is a hot mess. Watching her as she goes on her journey made me laugh so hard at times I snorted. There are so many great characters but Willow was the one for me.

A light hearted read about real people with real dating struggles. Willow, the strong woman, has a history of wrong guy dates until Gun. Their story is a slow burn with real life comical situations. Loved this book.

Scorching Hot Mess is a great romantic comedy from Brooke May. I have read, and enjoyed, a few of her other books so was looking forward to reading this one.
So glad that I read this book as I really enjoyed it. It’s funny and quirky and will entertain you from start to end.
Poor Willow has no luck when it comes to love so when a drunken night leads her to have four napkins with phone numbers on them, her best friend pushes her to meet these men and have some fun.
We all need a friend like Willow. She’s funny and quirky and a very loyal friend. My one moan about this book is Willow’s friend. I found her to controlling and pushy. I wouldn’t be able to cope with a friend like that. Luckily Willow knows how to deal with her.
I also adored Gun. He’s such a strong, dependable and caring man. I was captivated by him straight away and was hoping that Willow was going to have some fun with him.
If you’re up for an enjoyable, fun romance then Scorching Hot Mess is definitely the book for you. Give it a try!!

I was concerned about this book as it is out of realm of my normal genres. Also, I wasn’t familiar with the author as I haven’t read any of her previous books. However, I will say that after reading this book I am going to check out some of her other books because that’s how much I enjoyed reading this one. I must say that I found this to be a very well written romantic story. The characters were very relatable I thought and while filled with their romantic journey there was quite a bit of drama mixed in as well. I found myself laughing out loud at a lot of the mess that she has managed to get herself into that makes her a “hot mess”. In fact, there were some instances that made me think back to several of my friends during their college years. This was a quick read for me because I found myself turning the pages to get to the end of the story. I was intrigued from the first chapter to see where and what was going to happen with this train wreck, and I wasn’t disappointed. It was a wild but fun ride.

This was a lighthearted and fun romantic comedy with a realistic and lovable main character, Willow and I could not put the book down. It has plenty of romance and comedy, and a little bit of drama and suspense to keep the storyline exciting. It’s a wonderfully written heartwarming story with some real laugh out loud moments. Willow Everett only has flash backs of her drunken night and four wrinkled up napkins that all have phone numbers on them. With her best friends encouragement Willow dumps her lazy boyfriend and goes on a journey to find ‘her forever’. Unfortunately just when she thinks she has found this in the kind, funny and handsome Gun she learns about Sophie. Not wanting to be ‘that type of women’ Sophie tries to ignore the attraction between them but this only gets harder each time they meet. The obvious chemistry between Willow and Gun really comes across in the narrative and I loved the interactions between the two of them. The storyline flowed well and the plot had enough twists in it to keep me happily turning the pages. An enjoyable and engaging read.

Scorching Hot Mess was without a doubt one of the funniest stories I have read in a long time. Brooke May just captured the very essence of a thrilling and captivating read. I was enamoured by Willow and Gun. She was absolutely hilarious and her match was meat with Gun. The charismatic and enigmatic personalities were impossible to ignore, and was totally invested in them pursuing their happily ever after. Excitement was always at the turn of the page. Drama was never far behind. All that a reader could ever want at the tips of all page turning fingers. Willow and Gun were a couple that were meant to be. And the thrills and spills along the way just made their story that much more entertaining. Alcohol and raging hormones are never a good combination, but the level of passion and compatibility was electric. 4 stars

I enjoyed this romance story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. This is a well written story that has characters that bring the story to life and romance to a new level. They are engaging and relatable. They kept me turning pages to the end. This is a story about Willow and the journey she is about to take. She has let feelings stand in her way of happiness until now. What will happen when Gunn walks into her life? She is determined not to let her guard down for him but will she change her mind? They have great chemistry and made such a cute couple. I enjoyed watching the growth between them which made the story fun to read. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I really enjoyed this romance. I loved the lead character Willow. She is a independent young woman who knows what she wants and doesn't want. Her attitude comes through the book and I love how funny she is.

Willows love life has been one disaster after another. After a night out when she gets very drunk she ends up with the details for 4 guys. Is one of them her Prince Charming?

One bad date leads to another and Willow starts to lose hope. But she meets Gun at the fire station and the attraction to him is so strong. Who is Gun? Is he taken or single?

With the help and advice from her best friend and brother this is a rollercoaster of laughter and tears as Willow finds her way through life.

Scorching Hit Mess by Brooke May is an entertaining rom com you don’t want to miss. This wasn’t the first book I’ve read by this author but definitely tops my list of favorites from her.

Willow just wants what her brother and her best friend have but in order to have that, she has to get through some duds first. This is the story about how Willow found her match.

This book was so entertaining to read. Willow has quite the disastrous dating life but Brenda won’t let her give up. The characters are so relatable as is Willow’s dating experience. I couldn’t put this book down once I started. I wanted to tell that everything Willow was looking for was right in front of her but honestly her journey was worth the read!

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May. I LOVED this book. Its so good and its very realistic. Its the story of Willow Everett who by way of a hot drunken night her life is about to change. Willow is strong, sassy, loud and not about to be told what to do or how to do it. She has a best friend who is always goading her into messes and she loves her dearly. Her best friend is the reason she finally got the nerve up to dump her lazy no good boyfriend. So the drunken night happens and the only thing she has to remember that drunken night by are 4 napkins with phone numbers on them. When she finally meets a guy, Gun who she thinks she might be able to settle down with her past comes calling. Will she and Gun the hot fire fighter make it work? Read Scorching Hot Mess to find out!

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May is a fun and enjoyable read that will most definitely put a smile on your face.

Willow gets herself into a bit of a dilemma when she can’t quite piece together the events of a drunken night out. Her main clues are the phone numbers she finds on a bunch of wrinkled-up napkins. On the search for ‘Mr Right’, she decides that calling them up could help on her hunt, but things don’t quite go as she hoped.
I was looking for a light-hearted read when I picked this book, but I got a lot more. The author makes the characters strong and relatable and the story funny. It was a quick read for me, mainly because I couldn’t put it down.
This was my first time reading anything by Brooke May, but I will definitely lookout for more in the future.

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May

This isn't the first book I've read by May, but it is the first one by her that is a standalone. May is talented and it shows in the way she writes.

Willow hasn't had much luck in the dating department. Going out with her brother and sister-in-law ends with her waking at their house the next morning. From there things go downhill and fast. The quote I chose for Willow is: “I’ll keep a hold of them until I’ve had more time to think about it.”

Gun didn't want to think about Willow, but doing a fundraiser with her doesn't help. Sophie leaves and all Willow does is remind him of her. The quote I chose for Gun is: “I’ll see myself out. Good-bye, Willow.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Comedy lovers.

Brooke May writes a romance with a dash of suspense as we follow Willow Everett emerging from another night of too much alcohol fuel fun. Willow, armed with traces of memory and a few numbers on napkins, wants to find the missing pieces of what could be a shot at happiness. It will cost Willow a lot, starting with some not very positive life choices but these have a strong pull for Willow. Can she resist them? Willow wants to especially when she meets the wonderfully charismatic man named Gun. Is his goodness enough to make Willow stop longing for what she gave up? The tension will keep the pages turning as you want to know the ending too!

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May is an entertaining story about a woman on a mission to find her match. This whole book has such a fun feel to it and I thought that Willow was such an entertaining character. Her and her friend combined really made me chuckle. I enjoyed reading about her and Gun. They seemed to have such a connection from the start that just felt real and engaging. It made you want to read more about them. This isn’t the first book that I have read by this author and I like the fact that I always know I am going to get a well written story when I read one of her books. Scorching Hot Mess is a rom com by Brooke May. This is not the first book I have read by Ms. May, but is my new favorite by her. This story sucked me right in and I couldn’t put it down until I finished. The characters are believable, the dialogue is witty, and the romance is scorching hot. After a drunken night out, Willow finds herself with four napkins with numbers on them and no other memories of the night. It is hilarious watching her try to figure it out. I truly enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it if rom com and romance are your thing.

This is the first book I’ve picked up by this author, and I can honestly say I am intrigued. Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May is delightfully funny. It has all the fixings of a great romantic comedy: steam, drama, sarcasm, jealousy, betrayal, and even a blind raccoon. The protagonist, Willow Everett, is relatable and charming, as well as witty. When she meets Gun, the connection between them is obvious and the pages turn effortlessly because you just want to see how everything turns out. It was quite the ride, following her through all her misadventures in this entertaining book. Awesome characters and witty charm. I recommend this book with 4 out of 5 stars!

This is a Romantic Comedy novel and is 435 pages. This story follows Willow, the hot mess. One night she gets drunk and ends up with four different phone numbers and not a very good memory of what happened that night. Willow’s friend convinces her to dump her lazy boyfriend and go on the search for her “forever”. Willow has a history of wrong guys, until she meets Gun. Instant sparks, but then she learns about Sophie. This story has the perfect amount of romance, comedy, and drama. I think my favorite was the pet blind raccoon – hilarious!

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May - Review by Krista Vaughan

Willow is such a loveable and relatable lady! She dumps a loser of a boyfriend after spending a drunken night out with her friends. Her night gave her 4 numbers and she allows herself to be convinced to call the numbers to see if she had met her true love...at a bar.. while drunk. What a bunch of winners she finds! There IS Gun, though. Their chemistry is intense and all-encompassing... And she has to avoid him to not be the "other woman". Such a great read! Highly recommended!
