Never sleep with your boss.

It’s advice that Willa Banks could’ve used six weeks ago when, after the most terrifying night of her life, she sought comfort in the arms—and bed—of her grumpy, intense, sexy-as-hell boss, Max Prescott. Now, working with him day in and day out is pure torture for Willa, who’s wanted Max since the day they met—even if he doesn’t want her, something he’s made abundantly clear.

Eight years ago, tragedy upended Max’s life, making him see himself as a toxic, broken monster. A monster who needs to stay far away from the sweet, warm, beautiful Willa, who he’s wanted for months now. But he refuses to hurt her the way he’s hurt people in the past, so it doesn’t matter how much he pines for her. Longs for her. He needs to stay far, far away from Willa.

Max’s rejection hurts, and Willa is determined to get over him. So when she’s matched with someone on a dating app her company is beta testing—with 98% compatibility, no less—she sees it as the perfect opportunity to move on. But fate has other plans, because Willa has no idea the man she’s messaging—and falling for—is none other than Max…

You've Got a Blind Match

“If you hadn’t come, I’d be dead.” She swallowed, fresh tears stinging her eyes. “I’d be dead.” --Willa Banks

Things begin on a terrifying note as Willa and Kayla find themselves in a horrifying situation. If you read the prior book in the series, you'll remember the scene. What's new is what happens with Willa once she and Kayla separate that night. What happens next was not surprising but then the surprises begin.

As the story moves along, it becomes a bit of an updated version of You've Got Mail, albeit a bit darker and with more baggage, with the inclusion of a blind dating app. I love the honest conversations and bonding that occurs before they learn their identities. I also love the heat that burns bright when they let themselves enjoy the moment. 🔥🔥

Max and Willa jump through plenty of hoops and make their share of blunders before they FINALLY get it together. The catty office gossip doesn't help a thing.

If you want to ensure your heart melts for these two, you have to read the bonus epilogue. Aww....

5 - "Everything is you…" Stars!

Book three, in The Prescotts series finally gives us Max’s story. The grumpy tech genius has been intriguing since the beginning but knowing that Willa Banks has had the hots for him since the they were introduced as well, has kept this reader eager for them to finally get their story.

Taking up right after the home invasion that occurred in the last book; Snow Job, Willa finds herself staying with Max in the aftermath, and it soon becomes pretty obvious that her attraction to him is not as one sided as she thought. But Max as a huge amount of baggage to deal with, and letting another woman into his life is not something he is initially interested in doing, even if it is someone he has been drawn to since he first saw her.

"I’ve wanted you for a while, and after tonight I’m done pretending that it don’t…"

This is my favourite book of the series so far. I loved both Max and Willa, and the story that played out between them had a bit of a Cinderella vibe to it as well. Although Max was more of a Beast at the beginning than Prince Charming! but with the aid of an anonymous dating app he soon realizes that him and Willa together are a winning combination.

Lucian is up next in Bad Intentions again like Max he is a Prescott that the author has kept her cards close to her chest about in relation to letting the reader get to know him so I am eager to get my hands on his story, Max has my heart at the moment, but I’m wondering if the dark and dangerous Lucian can sway my loyalties!

"These Prescotts… They’re easy on the eyes but hell on the heart…"

IN REAL LIFE: getting stuck in an elevator is my worst nightmare no matter who is trapped inside with me.

IN ROMANCE NOVELS: Hooollllleeeee crap. Getting trapped in an elevator with a sexy man is so hot I think my panties just lit on fire and burned to ash.

LOVE BUG starts with a bang (literally 😉) and only gets better and better. This book picks up exactly where the previous book in this series left off and I think if you were trying to read this as a standalone it might be hard to be dropped into the story at this point. I highly recommend reading this series in order and, the good news is, the first two books are GREAT reads as well.

Willa and Max are such a wonderful couple, but their love story is anything but easy! What I love about this book (and this series) is that the conflict is not just two people not talking to each other. There are real hurdles to overcome and the complex relationship problems for Willa and Max to work through.

Willa is smart and hard working and warm. I loved her. It was also incredibly refreshing to read a romance where the female has small chest and no hips. I love when plus size heroines are in books and ADORE that a naturally thin and waif-like heroine is being represented here, and her body issues are being explored as well.

Max is the broody, closed off, sex God of my dreams and seeing him find a softer side of himself was a super sweet read.

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
STEAM LEVEL: Rated R
TRIGGERS: past fatal drowning, past home invasion, female peer bullying, body shaming (unchallenged)

I received a gifted copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars!
Willa and Max first made their appearance in the Prescotts' previous books, so even if this is a standalone, it reads better when you meet them in the other books first.
This is a somewhat insta-love but with many barriers until they get from "there" to "here"...
So, if you enjoy workplace romance that is sweet, romantic, emotional, hot and steamy, and funny at times, this book is for you!

My 3.5 stars are simply due to what i personally like, which is the slow-burn, too-much-angst stories.
I can't wait for the final Prescott brother, Lucian, which is the one i look forward the most!!!

Armed men bust into their apartment and threatened to kill her and her best friend if they didn't tell them where to find Kayla's boyfriend, Sebastián. His brothers managed to get there on time to save them, but Willa couldn't believe how close she came to dying after surviving cancer just six years ago.

One of Sebastián's brothers took her home with him to keep her safe. But Max was also her surly boss. The boss she's had a major crush for since she began working for him.

Max hates himself for taking advantage of Willa while she was so vulnerable with the break-in, but he hated himself even more when he sent her away saying it couldn't happen again. He didn't deserve to be happy.

I loved this book!!! Max didn't think he deserved to be loved because of something in his past . I loved Tara Wyatt's description that your personal baggage is like hauling a huge suitcase around with you everywhere and that at some point you just had to stop dragging it around and unpack it.

I loved all the characters in this book! I so would have loved seeing Max dressed as Superman! Nothing like a sexy man in Superman tights ❤ The storyline is amazing and I really hated turning the last page. I loved the app twist of this story and hated the gossip mongers.

I can't wait for Lucien's story! That is one brother you don't mess with! This book is very well written and the characters just make you smile. Looking forward to reading the rest of The Prescotts' series and other books by Tara Wyatt.

When terror strikes and she is the victim of a home invasion, Willa doesn't think. She texts Max, her boss, with whom she has been crushing on since day one. When he takes her back to his apartment, one thing leads to another, and they sleep together. He can not get her out of there soon enough the next morning. While beta testing the new matchmaking app she wrote, she decides to give it a go. She bares her heart and soul to the man she matched with 98% accuracy, and he does too. When they figure out it's each other they're messaging, only time will tell if they can build trust and a strong relationship, or if Max's insecurities destroy them before they've gotten a real chance.
This is another winner in the Prescotts Series. Max's feelings of brokenness are palpable, as is Willa's sunny nature. The intimate scenes are flaming hot, and the characters are so relatable. While it is the third in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. However, it is much better as part of the series. A five star read, I definitely recommend it.

I wasn't pinning for Max and Willa's story because.. Lucian! So this was so beyond my expectation!

This is the story of Willa and Max, they work together at a tech startup which is now developing a blind date up (such a lovely idea). He is the boss, crushing on her from the beginning, as she did. But he has a big hang up from his past, which makes it very hard for him to go full in, having a relationship with Willa.

Really, what is not to like about this?! The characters are wonderful, she is smart, caring, so empathetic, trying to do as much good as possible, while still being true to herself and expressing her feelings with strength. He is protective, a bit possessive, has no arrogance for a man so rich and volunteers for a cause that is important to her, and ultimately, he is so loving.

The writing flows beautifully, there are a lot of hot moments mixed with emotional ones, everything is so well proportioned. That scene in the elevator when they have the big aha moment will forever be in my heart, such a wonderful, emotional, scene! Can't wait to read more from this very talented author!

I received a copy of this in exchange for my opinion.

Thank you netGalley, Victory Editing Co-Op and Tara Wyatt for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
.
Alright, my question for the day is a little saucy. Have you ever dated a coworker? I spent six years working as a waitress and bartender in a college town, which is just to say, YES I did. And it went as well as they warn you it will. Truth? I even dated my boss once. I know, I know, you don’t have to say it. Regardless of how my own experience with a workplace romance went, I’m still such a sucker for workplace romance tropes! Book #3 in Tara Wyatt’s The Prescotts series gives us all the office chemistry and more!
.
I got the chance to read book #2 in the series a few months ago and I loved Sabashtian and Kayla! More than that, I really like Tara Wyatt’s writing. Her books are easy to binge read in one sitting, the witty banter, sexy behind closed doors scenes and chemistry up the wazoo, all make it almost impossible to put her books down! I loved Willa and while Max was pretty hot and cold, I was still rooting for them. Like Willa, I believed in Max and just wanted him to forgive himself!
.
Sweet, sensible and down to earth Willa lights up the room. It’s hard to pull yourself away from her magnetic energy and Max has been fighting that pull for as long as he’s known her. With a past full of demons and no trust in himself to treat her how she deserves, Max refuses to show his feelings. But when Willa’s life was put in danger and Max was the one to come to her rescue, their feelings for eachother boiled over. Willa has had a thing for Max since they met but he’s never shown an ounce of interest. After a passionate and explosive night together, Willa now knows how Max feels and she’s not willing to let him push her away. When they unknowingly match on an anonymous dating app that their company is developing, their relationship reaches a level they’re not even aware of. And when they realize the truth? Game over.

Oh Max! You sexy, brooding, damaged man...you’re officially my favorite Prescott brother. And the perfect foil to all that hidden charm is the bright and sunny Willa. She’s adorable but so smart and kind, as well. I kept picturing a pixie fairy as I read this book, small but mighty. She was definitely the right heroine for her taciturn boss.
Love Bug comes out of the gate fast, at least physically. Emotionally, it’s more of a slow burn. While it picks up right after the events in Snow Job, it can be read alone. But to get more of a flavor to both the characters themselves and a bit of Prescott family background, I’d recommend reading the series thus far.
Tara Wyatt is a relatively new author for me but I’m so loving her style. Her characters are engaging and her stories have a wonderful blend of dialogue, self reflection and scenery. There nothing worse than a book filled with descriptive scenery and no plot or development of the leads. Love Bug had none of these issues...it was all pure enjoyment.
I am very anxious, though, to read about Lucien’s story. As much as I hate to move on from Max and Willa, the women who grabs onto Lucien has her work cut out for her! I can’t wait!!

Love Bug is Book 3 in the Prescotts series. It gives us a chance to see what happens with Max and Willa. Willa has been attracted to Max abs is been teased through the first 2 books.

The book begins right after where the last book, 𝘚𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘑𝘰𝘣, ended. After the home invasion, Willa finds herself staying with Max as he wants to make sure she is 100% safe.
We discover that the attraction is not as one side as Willa thought.
Max has what he sees as tons of baggage and even though he's attracted to Willa is something he can't see happening.

Willa works with Max as a app creator ( he owns a tech company) and they are beta testing their newest app, a Matchmaking app she wrote.

She is utterly surprised when she matches at 98% with someone ( all people in the testing are fellow employees) she begins chatting with this person and finds herself telling this person everything even how she feels about Max.

It's the most comfortable she's felt taking to someone about anything outside her group of girlfriends.
I don't want to delve too much into the story, but it's safe to say we all know who she matches with
😉.

I love the Prescotts series and fall more in love with each as the books come out, the brothers all have their own flaws and baggage, as does everyone else in this world.
This book can certainly be read as a standalone but is best read in the series to understand certain aspects of it.

I would like to thank the author, Tara Wyatt who provided me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Looking forward to the next book!!

This book was heartbreaking, emotional, entertaining, enticing, and just the right amount of fun. My heart broke for both Willa and Max. For Willa because she cared so deeply, and for Max because of his guilt. These two belonged together but Max's need for self-flagellation almost ruined what could have been. I loved seeing the characters from the previous books coming in and slapping Max upside the head while also being an emotional and physical shoulder for Willa.

I truly enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to read the next one!

I received an advanced reader copy from the author for an honest review. While this is considered a standalone, I would HIGHLY recommend reading Snow Job before picking up this book or the start will be rather confusing. Snow Job is also a HOT read and my favorite so far in the series.

Willa and Max work together while building a dating app but with a blind date twist. Willa has been in love with Max for awhile but he’s grumpy and closed off even though they work closely together. Max has always had a thing for Willa too but he believes he’s broken and will only hurt her. Their relationship changes after Max rescues her from a home invasion and “comforts” her to the best of his ability but are the changes something Max will accept or will his past break both their hearts?

I LOVED how broken Max was. The Prescott men are so damaged and if it wasn’t for Lucian, I don’t know how any of them would have made it in life especially their love lives. I loved the dynamic between the brothers and Willa and Max really have a special relationship. Bastian is still my favorite but I am looking forward to Lucian’s story so much! Like the other books in this series, this has an abrupt ending although their relationship felt more stable than some of the previous ones but you can get an extended epilogue by subscribing to the author’s email list. That’s the only thing that keeps me from giving any of these books 5 stars because I want the epilogue included in the main book instead of having to go download it later on. Just my preference.

Fate Will Have Its Way . . .

Willa Banks had to deal with a frightening home invasion and was comforted by her grumpy boss, Max Prescott. So working with him in the workplace is driving her crazy, because it’s obvious he doesn’t want to start anything with her.

When she helps the company beta test a dating app, she finally finds the man of her dreams, and with 98% compatibility rating! And as they message each other, she falls deeper and deeper, not realizing who her mystery man is. Will he stick with her this time? Or will he pull back once again?

Since I have read almost every book in this series and I’ve read book #6 before book #3 (this one) and #4 (Lucian’s), I can honestly say this was my least favorite.

The tropes are secret romance, forbidden relationship (boss/employee), and secret online relationship/online dating.

Apparently, they both had the hots for each other but Max was too jaded from his past and didn’t want to do anything until he realized Willa is the girl who he exchange messages with on an app called Blind Love.

The problem I had with this book is that they were very much in love at half of the book even though there was no pinning after each other (like in book #4 – Lucian’s book). All obstacles to why they shouldn’t date were just suddenly removed after they were stuck in an elevator and realized they were each other’s match on the app. I didn’t feel connected to their romance for the rest of the book and Max’s reason why he was jaded and didn’t pursue relationships just didn’t seem big enough for me. So yeah, it was quite a dull book for me that even the steamy scenes didn’t make it better.

2-2.5 stars.

Honestly, this was a page-turner for me. Why? Because I've been hooked with the Prescotts ever since Lauren and Theo's book, Stupid Love.

Needless to say, this book was an amazing experience for me. I loved the fact that they ended up with each other no matter the bumps along the road. (Yes, I'm a HEA lover.)

Maxwell Prescott, boss to Willa Banks sees himself as a monster, one that shouldn't be close to others so he wouldn't end up hurting them, just like how he did with the people in his past. His past that he was reluctant to share with Willa.

Rejection hurts, and Willa Banks felt every single jab of it. Determined on getting over Max, she found herself getting the perfect opportunity to move on with the dating app her company was beta testing. Especially when a person with 98% compatibility was matched with her.

Their roads had twists and turns, bumps and ditches, but somehow they always found their way back to each other. After all, what's a romance read with no Happily-Ever-After?

I was given the ARC for this book and asked to provide an honest review.

In short, this was a great book, an amazing read, and I may or may not have felt the sizzling parts. May or may not.

I've really enjoyed this series. The Prescott brothers are very intriguing and entertaining! Each brother has a very distinctive personality and that's refreshing to read in a series...you're not getting a carbon copy character in every book.
Max...
Grumpy, broody Max. I'm a sucker for the hard-to-reach guy, the one who holds himself at a distance from everyone...especially women. Especially the one he has feelings for! Enter...Willa Banks who just happens to have the same feelings for Max!

I was eager to read Max and Willa's book because of his issues and I really enjoyed how Ms. Wyatt told their story. Let's face it, the grumpy, broody guys tend to give us the best emotional payoff once they let go of what's holding them back.

I've always enjoyed Wyatt's books and Love Bug was no exception. I CANNOT wait for the oldest brother, Lucian's, book!!!

Love Bug starts off exactly where Snow Job leaves off. I really enjoyed Max and Willa's story. I've been intrigued with Max since the first book, Stupid Love. He's just always had this mysterious air about him. Willa is just a down-home, sweet girl who has had a major crush on Max for a long time. Willa knows that something has happened in Max's past that holds him back but she doesn't know what it is exactly. They had a bumpy journey to their HEA, but it was worth every bit of it!

I love that we get to still have interaction with Lauren, Theo, and Kayla. It always makes a series so much better when the characters all interlink and continue on through all the books in my opinion.

Love these Prescott men! Can't wait to read Lucian's story next!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I've been waiting for Max and Willa ever since reading Snow Job and Tara Wyatt did NOT disappoint!

"These Prescotts...they're easy on the eyes but hell on the heart, sometimes."

Although this starts out with a physical scene between the two, I would still consider it a relatively slow burn. But holy fuck, these two are so steamy when they're together! I loved that even though Willa has insecurities about herself, they didn't take over the physical scenes between the two of them. She seemed quite confident and knew what she wanted.

Willa has my heart though... She was so sweet and my heart broke for her on so many occasions throughout this whole book. "...you're not special. This is a pity fuck." She's liked Max for such a long time, but he's never really given her the impression that he feels the same. And even after their first time together he acts like a jerk in the morning... I felt self-conscious for her! There were so many moments throughout where I just wanted to give her a big hug.

Max is definitely carrying around some survivors guilt and whilst I didn't think it was fully justified, I can definitely see how someone in his position would hold on to it for so long. Even after he's been told from numerous people that he needs to move on and stop shouldering the blame. He's unused to showing emotion and vulnerability which holds him back massively from Willa.
"That's what I'm afraid of," she said quietly. "That I'll ask him for a level of vulnerability he just doesn't know how to give."

I did think he was super hot and I wasn't actually expecting to like him as much as I did! (Lucian already has my whole heart lol). His love and closeness with his siblings was super cute though! I love the Prescott siblings, and how they have such a tight bond even after their childhood. It was nice to see them and the Prescott cousins make quite a big appearance in this.

Personally, I wouldn't say there were any huge twists and turns, but I honestly don't think it needed any. The angst and chemistry between Max and Willa carried this through for me! "I like you in elevators." I really enjoyed getting to see both POV's, and that whilst they were together, we got to see them being in a happy relationship with plenty of the good stuff, (before the problems, obviously lol). "Two jokes in one night. I feel like I don't even know you anymore."

SO looking forward to the next book in this series! Tara Wyatt, I am desperate to see more of the oldest Prescott brother!! Lucian seems like an absolute dream *heart eyes* and I can't wait to meet him properly. We got what I think was a little Easter Egg for who Lucian's beloved might be and I am SO EXCITED to meet them!
"No one fucks with my family and gets away with it. That's the way it's always been and for as long as I'm breathing, that's the way it'll be."

Likewise, I'm looking forward to meeting the Prescott cousins that we got to see in this too. I think they're going to be just as tempting as these siblings are.

Overall, this was a really good addition to the Prescott series. I really enjoyed reading it and can't wait for more. So far, I've only read one of the previous books in this series and whilst these are classed as stand-alone, I would definitely recommend reading them in order, as the previous couples are regularly mentioned and I think it will add to the reader experience.

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

First let me say to really understand and get the most out of this book you need to read the first two or at least the 2nd, Snow Job. This book starts where that one ends. Without the history of the brothers and why they are like they are and what happened you miss a lot.
After the worst, scariest night of her life. Willa Banks and her best friend, Kayla had a home invasion and both thought they were going to die. Kayla's boyfriend Sebastian's brothers Max and Lucian save them. Not wanting the girls to be by themselves Willa goes home with her boss, Max Prescott.
Willa is shocked at what just happened even so going with Max was a bad idea even if he does make her feel safe. She works for him and has a crush on him since day one. Max has never given reason to think he is also attracted to her. As the emotions hit her and Max holds her things go from comfort to steamy really quick. She learns Max has also been hiding his feeling...
Unknown to Willa, eight years ago an accident left Max feeling guilty and he shut himself off . He feels he is broken, and only hurts whoever is close to him. He hurts Willa, leaving it really hard to be at work around him. Till she meets someone on a text site for a dating app is working on.
The texts between code name "BetaTestAccount23" and her as "FreshPrincessofChelsea "
absolutely make this story.... being able to talk to some about anything not knowing who they are except they work at the same company. Finding out who the other was is priceless.
There is so much emotions, past for both, and secrets going on. This is a very fast read, and also has a wonderful bonus section too.
This is a great second chance story, and learning from the past.
I hope you give it a read and learn if and how these two either have to leave the past or forget ever
having a future. Once again, his brothers are there to help, just not like you would except...
I received and ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it.
I can't wait to see what the next book, the oldest brother's Lucian's story will be. He has been in all the books and is like a father to rest of them... am sure is going to over the top too...

4.5 (because Stupid Love set a standard that just can't be surpassed)

The first thing that you need to know about the Prescott men is that they are, to a one, incredibly stupid. Fortunately for us, it isn't a terminal condition, and they manage to be adorable regardless. Theo (Stupid Love) was the first to get his head out of his ass; I'm still swooning, months after reading that book. Bastian (Snow Job) fell next, though he may still have a few hairs stuck. In Love Bug, their older brother Max gets his turn.

While this book can be read as a standalone, it would be better to read the other books first, especially Snow Job. Otherwise, you might find yourself wondering if you missed a chapter or prologue or something. Author Tara Wyatt does manage to get a summary in though, so while you might be burning with curiosity, you won't have a problem following Max and Willa's story.

Max is the multimillionaire owner of a tech company. Willa works for him, but she's also a close friend of the two women who've snagged Max's brothers' hearts. Willa has had a crush on him for ages, but she doesn't realize Max shares feelings until the Bad Thing that closed out Snow Job happens, and he almost loses her. Max, however, has a secret in his past that he doesn't want Willa to know about because he doesn't want her to know what a horrible person he is. There's a little bit of pushing her away before they admit mutual feelings; the secret is what drives most of the story instead.

I didn't personally feel like the secret was all that damaging. Tragic maybe, but there wasn't enough info for me to believe that any decent person would blame Max. I guess that's sort of the point though. Believing he's an awful person is Max's "stupid." Fortunately for him, Willa is a really great human being.

If you choose to read this novel, you will get to enjoy Wyatt's particular brand of Hot Hot Hot love scenes; they're graphic, but they are also filled with a lot of sensitivity and emotion. If lengthy sex scenes aren't your jam, be assured that, while detailed, they don't overpower the storytelling like that do in many other stories. They never feel gratuitous; in fact, they help us understand Max and Willa's attraction to one another even while catty people in the office find it necessary to disparage Willa.

Eldest brother Lucian is next, and I'm so incredibly excited. I'm glad that Wyatt is a prolific writer and that I probably won't have to wait much longer. Dare I hope that the cousins' stories are in the works?

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!

I loved this book from the start. Max and Willa have had a thing for each other since the first day they met, but there are so many things in their way. Max is Willa's boss and has told himself over and over that he isn't meant to love and now believes it. When Willa is in danger Max drops everything to rescue her. Willa finally feels that she could maybe be getting somewhere with Max when he shuts her out and pushes her away. When they return to work a new dating app Willa is in charge of launching at Max's company is going into beta testing. Many of the people at the company are part of the group beta testing including Max and Willa. Once Willa begins to check things out on the app she gets a notification of a potential match. Willa and this mystery man begin to talk and pretty much tell each other everything. One faithful day Willa and Max get stuck in an elevator at work. Willa can't believe what's happening and lets her mystery man know and ends up finding out that her mystery man is no other than Max. Max can't believe his lucky stars that Willa is the woman he's been talking to and decides to try to make things work between them. Willa feels she's gotten everything she's ever wanted in Max until his past comes to haunt them both. How is Max going to explain to Willa about his past without hiding anything? I received a free copy of this book from the author and reviewed it voluntarily.

Not a surprise, but--I loved this one!

Willa and Max's story was all kinds of cute (and hot, OMG, that beginning was super H-O-T) and I absolutely loved their anonymous app relationship...but loved it just as much once they weren't anonymous anymore too ;)

In fact, I was minding my own business, reading along, enjoying the heck out of this story, idly wondering huh, this is all going so well! And is so adorable! Maybe Tara Wyatt won't throw anything disruptive or angsty in there after all!

As I'm sure you suspected and could have been telling me all along, OF COURSE she's not going to let them off that easily. Ha! Bring on the relationship disrupter, and their romance's black moment...

Fortunately, Max, like his younger brothers before him (Theo from Stupid Love and Bastian from Snow Job ) managed to pull his head out of his butt on time to make things all better, leaving us with a super cute ending.

And an unholy need to have Lucien Prescott's story in our hot little hands right now. ;)

Love Bug is the third book in the series, and probably *could* be read as a standalone, though the very first scene will definitely make a lot more sense (and have a lot more of an impact) if you've at least read the previous book (Snow Job) to see what exactly has Willa so rattled and makes Max lose his cool. Or just do yourself a favor and read all three--then you can join me in anxiously awaiting the release of enigmatic Lucien's story!

Rating: 4 stars / A-

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

In the first chapter, Wyatt dives in deep with all of the angst, steam and smut. I was instantly intrigued with Willa Banks and her irresistible boss Max Prescott. Willa has had eyes for Max for as long as she has been working for him, but she never thought a simple woman like herself would ever catch his attention . . . especially considering that he is her employer. Until one night Willa's life is literally left in his hands when she cries for his help.

Willa Banks is a woman with most the kind, warm, and purest of hearts filled with so much love to give. Max Prescott is man who believes he is incapable of love because of his upbringing, parental history, and a horrific trauma from his past. They both want each other, but love & trust doesn't comes easy with a Prescott.

It only took me a day to devour this story! Love Bug is pretty fast paced and doesn't waste any time. At first, I thought everything was too instant, but Willa and Max's connection and attraction is far off from instalove– which I am not particularly a big fan of. I liked the element of vulnerability and trust being centralized around the plot. There was a sense a frustration for me at some points, but I began to understand the decisions and actions of each of the characters considering their pasts and how hard it is for people to be completely open.

I absolutely loved the involvement of the the Prescott siblings! Especially Lucian. The unconditional love and protectiveness he has for his family is unreal. And as I say time and time again, being an older sister I truly feel for characters who play the role of the protector and parent when they don't exactly need to, but want to regardless of the circumstance.

NOTE: Love Bug is a part of the The Prescotts series, but each book can stand on it's own! This is the first one I read, given as an ARC from the author, and I am definitely interested in seeing what the other brothers have to offer.

Never sleep with your boss. Someone should have told Willa Banks this.
Willa knows that she should not be falling for her emotionally unavailable boss. He is grumpy and intense. Max knows that he has no business pining over Willa, his employee. He convinced himself that he is toxic and broken. His mind is really no match for Willa and their connection. I loved watching these two fall for each other in two separate ways, really. Willa is so smart, kind, and genuine. She has so much to give. And really so does Max. He has a very distorted view of himself.
After reading the previous books in this series, I knew that Max was going to rip my heart out. And he did. I was not really prepared for how much I adored Willa. She is a very emotionally strong character with a lot of wisdom to share with Max. Watching a tough guy like Max melt for Willa made my heart so happy! The connection Willa and Max have is amazing and things get really, really steamy! I mean, at 6% into the book I texted my friends and was like WHOA it is getting hot in this book. It gets pretty steamy. Like really steamy these two could not keep their hands off each other, and I am telling you I was there for it!
There is really so much more I want to say about max and Willa, but I also don’t want to give it away, because you need to be on this journey with them. They are amazing and if anyone deserves an HEA it is this pair! This is hands down my favorite Prescott book. These siblings are awesome, and how they support each other always makes the book! Looking forward to Lucian’s book in June!

MY REVIEW

Max Prescott had a traumatic romance experience 8 years ago. And not to mention the fucked up family background, it makes him keep everyone at arm's length. He believes that he is broken and not capable of love.
Willa Banks works for Max. Willa is definitely an off limits for Max. They've been 'attracted' to each other since day one but keep denying it. But after the home invasion that happened to Willa and her roommate slash best friend, Kayla, Max realized that he was afraid of losing Willa.
Max and his older brother, Lucas managed to rescue them. Max took Willa to his place and they couldn't seem to hide their attraction anymore. And then it happened—they slept together.
But the morning after, Max pushed Willa away because he's scared that he will hurt Willa.
And what will happen to them in the office, given that they work together?

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Office romance is one of my favorite stories.
Especially when it was about boss and subordinate romance.
Because I used to have crush on my (former) boss as well.
Although I wasn't as lucky as Willa. LOL

Compared to the 2 previous books, I think this one is less dramatic.
Although at first I feels like the pace is too slow, but I'm glad that it doesn't take that long for them to realize their feelings for each other and drop the 'L' bomb.
And I like how the 'secret' between Mr.23 and FreshPrincess revealed. Just like I said earlier, less dramatic.

I like the story line, because different from the last 2 books, when reading this I don't need to roll my eyes too often or want to punch both the Hero and heroine just to make them realize their chemistry for each other. Which is a good sign that this book wasn't really bore me to death 😂

Max is great. A hot, protective CEO with a baggage. Typical hero in every romance novels lol
But honestly I'm more excited and curious about Lucas than him.
Willa's character doesn't leave a strong impression to me other than being a cancer survivor. I don't know whether it's because I don't really put enough attention to her or simply because her character is just not that memorable.

And the sex.
As always the sex scenes are super hot.
Even from the very first chapter. LOL

I just DON'T LIKE the way the author ends the story.
Just like the 2 previous books, the ending is quite CLIFFY because the author FORCED the reader to join her newsletter to get the epilogue.
Seriously I don't understand authors these days, do you really need to do that???
That's the minus point for me. That's why I couldn't give this book 5 stars, I'm sorry.

Other than that, this book is pretty entertaining. Especially if you like a hot office romance.

Thank you so much to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review written above.

I love opening a book and can't stop reading, and even if I stop, the story consumes me. I've said this before, and I'll say it again, Author Tara Wyatt gets better with each of her books. I said Tara’s books are captivating and the same hold for this one too. Let me add addicting because I couldn't stop reading. Tara has a way of pulling you in with her writing that you feel like you are along with every step these characters make. It was full of drama, has sexy and sweet moments but has vulnerable moments as well which really gripped me, which then made me love this book even more. Instantly fell in love. The book made me laugh and made me swoon too… These books in this series are serious GEMS and should be treated as so… They are the perfect recipe to get you out of whatever reading slump you have fallen into. I can promise you that! So worth reading. Put it high on your TBR list! Happy reading everyone!
