Cassie turns 40 today and her closest friends seems to have no time for her. To cheer herself up, she goes to Mirabil's Diner for a chocolate milkshake. As Mirabil & Oliver speak to her, Ollie get a call about a murder that has just been discovered at Sebastian us farm. Fearing for him, Cassie rides out with Oliver to find that it is her former brother-in-law, Brad, who has been murdered. Why is he here? Ana, of that course, Cassie has to be in the middle of it.
Cassie is really irritating; she has things in her past she is unwilling to share, but can't seem to realize that others to too. She takes it as they aren't really her friends if they don't tell her all but expects others to respect her wishes. I paid for thus series so will finish it but...he prepared for self a centered Cassie!!

It's Cassie Alberta's birthday. Her boyfriend, Sebastian Vail, has planned a surprise party for her at his farmhouse. However, when Sebastian is found in his backyard unconscioua beside a man from Cassie's past that has been murdered. Sebastian becomes the main suspect in the murder. Cssie, with the help of her next door neighbor, ex-cop Tessa watters, she knows they must act fast to find the real killer.
Cassie is going to have to tell some of the secrets of her past after she now has the new life she wanted after her husband's accidental death.
This book is well written. I have enjoyed watfching the charafters develop and grow. Little Leaf Creek is the place to be if you enjoy small town life.

The past is catching up to Cassie.
When a man is found murdered at Sebastian's farm he is considered the prime suspect, when it's discovered that the dead man knew Cassie, the case gets complicated, but she and Tessa are up to the job.

Good cozy
This is a good cozy mystery but I did not enjoy it as much as the first ones in the series because of the back biting neighbors. I'm glad I don't live in a small town like that.

Everything went wrong when Brad comes to town.
He's killed and Sebastian is blamed.
What a mess!!
It takes a lot of work to clear him so Cassie gets her birthday party.
But it all works out well.

A dead body at Sebastian’s (Cassie’s boyfriend) house and Sebastian is the prime suspect. Surprise! But why would Sebastian kill Cassie’s brother-in-law? And why would he fake his own attack? It really makes you think.

Well written mystery story with lots of twists and suspense. I do find the relationship between Cassie and Sebastian to be odd. She proclaims her love yet keeps ditching him to go investigating with her neighbor Tessa. It is also amazing that the police will share so much with two not on the force.

Ooh this points in so many directions and suspects, totally kept me guessing all the way. Loved the surprise that was planned and derailed and Maisy, who sounded like she just needed love and guidance. Wonderful twists, intrigue and past coming back to face Cassie. Loved it

Cassie, Tessa and Sebastian are at it again. Will they be able to clear Sebastian of killing Cassie's brother in law? This series as just the right twists and turns, and just keeps getting better and better.

This is a very enjoyable read. You need a road map to keep up with all the twists and turns. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a good mystery, a hint of romance and fantastic characters.
