Received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Spoilers ahead. Make sure to check trigger warnings!

I can’t even imagine how I’d feel as Lexi after everything that happened. Her home life growing up, losing her sister. Then to have so many precious years with her children robbed and have endured so many years of torture.

I felt bad for Jake too - losing the woman you love and the mother of your children, going years without any answers. Then having to figure out what to do with the two women he cares for most.

I think the pace needs to be slower; there was a lot of internal monologue we missed out on. There were also choppy transitions in between scenes that need some smoothing over.

Interesting twist at the end! Should have known Sara was capable of that if she had no problem being cruel to Lexi when she was first in the hospital recovering from trauma. Glad the guys were able to come together to help Lexi in the end.

I was enthralled and entrapped in the mystery of Lexi's life. This hugely thrilling, addictive, at times chilling and provocative book is a sharply pointed debut book of Ms L Aquila. I couldn't put the book down and finished the same day.

A riveting and heartrending thriller about a courageous woman whose love and experience of time has been torn asunder

The beginning of Fleeting Time introduces us to Lexi’s perfectly quaint and happy family life, and just when we become comfortable, the story launches us into a whiplash of time periods and emotionally charged drama. After losing seven whole years of her life and one day just showing up again out of the blue, Lexi returns to her husband, who has another woman with him and her kids are all grown up. What follows is a journey full of heartrending tragedy and action-packed scenes as Lexi pieces her life back together. This thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat as Lexi wrestles with her amnesia, her scars from childhood, and a past that has come back to haunt her. All the while, she finds herself in love with two men, Jake from her past, and Dan, who has filled her heart in the present.

The story flips perspectives between Lexi, Jake, and Dan, allowing us to see through their eyes and experience each of their emotions. The love felt between characters is tangible, and the steamy romance is unabashed and exciting. Aquila does an exceptional job with pacing the suspenseful, tense scenes alongside slower periods of getting to know the characters and seeing their relationships challenged at every turn.

Lexi is forced to overcome incredible obstacles throughout the novel, and it seems like no one can be trusted. As the story progresses, we learn that things are not as they seem, and Lexi’s past comes back in horrifying and unexpected ways, forcing her to overcome them once and for all with the help of both her loves. Despite her disorientation and confusion, she never stops loving her children and isn’t afraid to put her foot down for what she knows is right.

A truly fast-paced thriller packed with romance, mystery, and action that will leave you falling in love with the characters and reading as fast as possible to know the truth of what’s happening to Lexi. Fantastic work, Aquila. I’m excited to read your other stories!

This romance with a thrilling mystery in the mix grabs hold of you in the first two chapters. From there you are sucked into an incredible story that only releases you after the final words “The End” are read.

I loved this right from the get go. You get a glimpse of Lexi’s life before she disappears. The next chapter you read of her is her coming back after being gone for 7 years. Only she has no recollection of those years. Seeing her husband with another woman puts her in a bit of a tailspin. She now has to figure out who she is without him in her life.

Both Jake and Dan are perfect men for her that go above and beyond. Of course they both go alpha male over protecting her..

The romance, the drama, the mystery, are all so perfectly woven together. You have no idea something is going to happen until it does.

What a great debut book! The story kept me guessing all the way through, it's a real page turner. Lexi is happily married with a wonderful husband and two children, they go for a family day out at a carnival and Lexi disappears, she then returns 7 years later with no recollection as to what happened to her. The book is about Lexi trying to work out what happened to her from the point she went missing. She tries to get on with her life and starts a job at a jazz bar where she meets her sexy boss Dan but this only complicates things, she still has her husband Jake who still loves her, who will she choose? There is also a mysterious man from her past who wants her too. I would recommend this book, plenty of drama, well worth a read. Congratulations L Aquila you have written a great debut book : )

A debut romantic thriller that had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Fleeting Time is an extraordinary gripping yet moving story all at the same time. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to suffer from amnesia and not know who you are and then come back 7 years later and find your family has grown up and moved on but this is what happens with Lexi, L Aquila beautifully set the scene to keep the reader entertained. The mystery element keeps you guessing and at the end of the day will Lexi choice the man from her past or present.

I really enjoyed this book, I was on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out how seven years passed and Lexi remembered nothing. Then my mind was blown with all the revolutions and secrets that kept coming to light. I was not expecting all flashbacks 🤯 I was biting my nails hoping Lexi got her life back and was wondering which Path she would choose in the end.

Emotional Thriller! This story has a very emotional and tragic turn of events as Lexi struggles to regain her memories. There is a love triangle that makes you want to cheer for one and then realize you should cheer for the other. The book has lots of twists and turns as Lexi unravels her missing years. It’s a good read if you want a thriller that is emotional. I like this author’s style and want to read more of her books.

Fleeting Time is L. Aquila's debut novel, the plot of the story is very interesting. I enjoyed that Lexi disappeared for seven years but at the start of the story has no knowledge, then she walks back into her life with no memory of what happened to her.

I think it was smart of the author to have Lexi be a strong character and try to rebuild her life immediately. But still have instances where she is not as strong as she looks, gives the character depth.

I do think the story jumps a little to the next plot point without much build up at certain points.

I gave this novel a ⭐⭐⭐ review, I would like to have seen the relationship with Lexi's kids and ex-husband more but overall I found the story interesting.

This book was fantastic! I loved Lexie and Dan’s relationship. One thing I wish was added though, was more insight on Lexie and her kid’s relationship. Other than that, it was awesome! 🙂

I'm asked to review this book. It isn't my typical read; however, the blurb was interesting enough to encourage me to read the book.

Lexi is a bit of a wreck, struggling with her own issues right out the gate. She seems to have a perfect life, a happy family and kids she cherishes, plus a husband she is crazy about. So this book gets intriguing very fast and includes a quick time jump 7 years in the future without much information for the reader. It seems to be from Lexi's point of view. This book starts out happy and then goes straight to heartbreaking. As she picks up the pieces of her life and her memories. This book is all about Lexi. Her past comes into play with her future and, of course, her missing memories. This book captivated me at the end edge of my seat for the entire story. I couldn't believe all the twists and turns, as well as the current events that came about it, were almost surreal.

This author did a great job creating a fictional story that was so emotional. It was tragic and beautiful at the same time. Even with all the memory jumps and emotional chaos, the story is so interesting that I couldn't put it down. I honestly felt terrible for Lexi in this story. This story probably should include a trigger warning as some readers may struggle to read this. Although the author didn't go into detail on sensitive subjects, enough of it is implied. This was an emotional read with lots of ups and downs as she remembers the missing years in her life. But, of course, that would not be enough, so the author added current events that were just as tragic as the past.

I have to say I spent the whole book rooting for Lexi to go back with her previous husband before the awful events. The love triangle was well done and explained. But I still wanted Lexis life to pick up where she left off.

When you read this, Beware you may find yourself crying through some scenes, slightly confused and definitely disturbed. But overall, it was a fantastic twisted read.

Lexi Stone has lost the last seven years of her life, she was a happily married mom back then, and now she is the woman that disappeared. The woman who lost everything she knew in the blink of an eye and is left with a life that will never be the same.

Fleeting Time is the story of a woman struggling to find her way and learning to deal with amnesia that took her memories and the life she had once known. Lexi and her family were at the carnival, it was supposed to be a fun and happy day they'd all remember, but the happy stuff is not what any of them think of when that day is mentioned... it's the day that their wife and mom disappeared and the normal life they had was stripped away. Lexi has no idea where she has been, who she was with, all she knows is that she wants her life back... but she soon learns that it will come with a cost!

This story comes with twists and turns that'll keep you on your toes, steamy moments to make you blush, and heart-torturing moments that will wreck you. I really enjoyed this first time read, it's captivating and unique story line kept my eyes glued to the pages, I was dangling helplessly from the edge of my seat until the last came... and wow what an ending it was!! Highly recommend this one, it's well penned words will grab you from the first page and not let go!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Fleeting Time largely follows Lexi, a woman who has no recollection of the last 7 years and is basically stuck in a time warp. The majority of the book is told by Lexi, however this is a multiple POV book.

I rated this 3 stars as overall, I liked the main concept behind the plot... It's like one of those really bizarre true crime or inexplicable events you hear about, which seem to have no logical rhyme or reason to them, but still managed to happen. The book definitely had a lot of mystery to it in regards to what's happened to Lexi, and the struggle between her and Jake was what I can imagine it would be like if that ever happened in real life!

However, I didn't really gel with Lexi herself. Her character was a bit too cliche for me, in terms of every guy wanting to hit on her and I did personally find her a bit annoying at times. I also would've liked to have seen more depth to her relationship with Dan, as it appeared to move extremely fast, especially given she was still trying to work out her past.

Lexi is on an outing with her husband and children when she disappears. Now 7-years later, Lexi is back, and she crosses paths with her husband, children, and his new girlfriend, but she has no recollection off the missing years. Lexi starts to have flashbacks, as she tries to piece together the puzzle that her life has become. This is a well written fast paced intense story, with a complex and unique storyline, which is an emotional roller coaster, with mystery, suspense, twists, family, intrigue, drama, and leads to a heartwrenching and thrilling page turner, which had me on tenterhooks throughout.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I was sucked into the novel by the first few paragraphs, taken in by the unique twist on a story that centers around a woman's (the main heroine, Lexi) amnesia. The unique heartache and surprises that lie in Lexi's path have you wanting to delve deeper into her story. I found myself wanting to throw my Kindle across the room, but that just tells you how involved I was with the characters: Lexi, Dan, Jake, and Ryder. So many twists and turns. A great debut novel by L. Aquila.

Lexi Stone has been missing for seven years, with no knowledge of what happened to her or where she’s been. As she struggles to put the pieces together, she soon finds her husband moved on with another woman and her children who have grown. She becomes attracted to her new boss, Dan, who will stop at nothing to protect her.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

But here's why...

I love the way this book addresses the pain of trauma. We all experience trauma, even if mild, but the big ones... They stick with us and affect daily life. There is a lot going on in this book but I loved every minute of it. 🥰

Intense, emotional and a page turner….best way to explain this book. Lexi is living her best life…until she isn’t anymore. Lexi has missing pieces of her life that she is piecing together. There are several people who want to support her and be there for her but it’s a lot of pressure. She tries to reclaim her life back, maybe a little to quickly. Between the family, the job and her past she has a lot going on. This book switches back and forth between flashbacks and present to tell a heart wrenching story with a few twists and turns. The characters had great depth and told a intense story. This was a fast paced emotional journey that I enjoyed reading.

This book was not my cup of tea. And I felt like it happend to much in the book and it was hard to keep up with the storyline!
The books maine plot is that Lexi disappeared for 7 years, but can’t remember anything(at first) Jake her former husband has new girlfriend. And Lexi’s kids are older. She has a lot to deal with in the book to say at least.
But if you’re into the love triangle trope. This book may fit your taste. Also the mystery of her disappearance and memory loss is very interesting. So if you like your romance with a mystery in it this book might be for you!
Also be sure to look up TW’s for the book before you start reading it!!

A first draft of an interesting novel

I love the overall plot line, there are good elements to the story. However the story is a bit choppy and needs to flow a bit more. Bits fleshed out more and a little less passing out for Lexie. The passage of time throughout the story needs to be established.
