Dark Temptation by Sarah Amelle is book one in the Dark Hearts series. This book had a lot of potential. The storyline, twists, and turns were interesting and engaging. The book was addictive and there was an underlying mystery that made me want to continue reading.
Eleni is a medical student working her way to becoming a doctor. One night she encounters a mafia don, Dante, who has come to collect Eleni’s boyfriend’s debt. Dante ends up kidnapping Eleni and when they can’t find her boyfriend, Dante decides Eleni will work off her boyfriend’s debt. Eleni and Dante are attracted to each other, but their relationship is complicated. Dante is complicated. He wasn’t willing to accept his feelings for Eleni until it was too late. Ultimately they did get their HEA and there is a bit of mystery leading into the next book.
Some things I didn’t enjoy in this book were the constant POV changes and the fact that there was a lot going on in this book. There were many twists and turns, some of which were quite enjoyable and others (like the repetitive cheating) which I thought weren’t necessary to the book.
Things I enjoyed in this book were the characters, some of which were unique and quite entertaining. This book was dark and intense. It was dramatic. There was betrayal, secrets, revenge, and intrigue which made it an enjoyable read overall. I did like the supporting characters as well as the little bits we discovered about them. Eleni’s growth was another thing I enjoyed in this book. I will read the next book because of the mystery the epilogue left.

So this is my third book from this author and the storyline is getting better. This story is getting up there with any of the other mafia books that i have read. It was a great plot and the characters are unforgettable.

These two have a big place in my heart, as do the other characters in this book, I thank Sarah Amelle for giving me their story is the form of a book.
This book tells us the story of Dante and Eleni, they are from different worlds, she is a med student and he is the next in line to be Padrone, apparently they have nothing in common... until they do.
Their story is so full os twist and turns, it’s complicated and will make you scream a lot, this is no fairytale.
What I love about this book, it’s the fact that is about Dante and Eleni’s story, but also the people around them, I will forever love my boy Nico✨ also FAROOK YOU RULE BABY♥️!
I like how Dante changes the way he thinks and see things, and how Eleni is not someone you can walk on!✨
Ajax and I have a complicated relationship, but jury is still out!
I can’t wait for the next one to come❤️!

Three and a 1/2 stars
Two people that should have never met crossed path at a bar during a college party. Eleni, a medical student and Dante, a mafia don that was there to collect on a $100k tab from Eleni’s boyfriend. When the boyfriend skips town, Dante decides to use Eleni as collateral and when that doesn’t work, he wants her to work off her ex’s debt. With no other choices, Mia works for Dante by patching up members of the organization and playing hostess in one of Dante’s club. Which puts Eleni constantly in his path with an attraction flaring that’s hard to resist. Dante isn’t interested in a forever and Eleni isn’t interested in anything less. Dante needs to figure out what’s really important and fast, because with the world out to get both of them, it’s going to take a lot to get these two to their happily ever after.
This was my first Sarah Amelle book and it will likely be my last. Just way too much other woman/other man drama/cheating for me. With that said, if that’s one of your kinks, you’ll definitely find it here in spades. I really enjoyed the overall storyline. It was interesting and had many twists and turns. I enjoyed how there were many really strong female characters with positions of power within their organization. I thought the writing style came across as a flowery NA novel and the perspectives jump very frequently back and forth between the main two characters as well as side characters was a bit distracting. I think my biggest difficulty other than the OW/OM/cheating was that I just didn’t like Dante. It took him a really long time to figure out what he wanted and quite frankly, I was rooting for the other guy with the big D and the piercings, but that may just be me.

Dante and Eleni have a special place in my heart and being able to have their story in a book was just amazing.
This story is not for everyone Eleni and Dante's relationship is complicated, they are complicated but both create beautiful chaos❤
I like Sarah's writting, the characters, the way that everyone is unique and they have not so conventional and fairytale like relationship. They feel genuine cause in real life not everything is black and white. This book has multiple POVS
I would say this is the perfect book for those who are considering to dive in the dark romance, sure there's gory details but not as much as I read in other books.
I like that this book shows you the mafia that Sarah created, sure there's mostly romance but the mafia details are there cause some authors forget about that.
I highly recommend this book and don't forget to read with an open mind cause some characters do some things that are not morally right but It's the mafia and at the end of the day is all fiction and it's meant to be enjoyed.

This is another new author for me but when I read the blurb I thought I'd give it a go! Story follows Eleni, a college grad wanting to be a doctor, when one guy and one night changes her completely. Dante is that one guy, when Eleni's so called boyfriend owes Dante a LOT of money he goes after him for his payment only when he escapes, leaving Eleni to fend for herself!!! Now Dante has leverage and takes her for himself for her to pay off her boyfriends debt. Only problem is Dante is mafia and he's next in line to take over from his father. Will he be able to stay away from Eleni and just keep it professional? Or will he do the one thing that he's not supposed to and fall for her?
I enjoyed this book to a degree but it felt far too long and draw out and so many different characters talking constantly, I lost where I was a few times. That being said it was a decent enough book and kept me going.

Mafia romance anyone?? If so you have to try this! Dante is the head of his family and is determined to make an example of a guy that owes him lots of money. Eleni has a douchey boyfriend who is the one who owes the money though she knows nothing about it. They go to a party where he tries to run from Dante. Unfortunately he gets away but he leaves her.behind where she is taken as bait much to her dismay. When it is discovered that he fled the country Dante decides she has to work off his debt or be killed. Not given much of a choice after some fighting back she settles down and agrees. Dante cannot get her out of his mind especially when she ends of staying at his place after something happens so she will be safe. Makes for an up and down romance full of danger at every turn that they both try to fight giving is a gripping read that fans of the genre are sure to enjoy. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

This is a new author to me, and I will be looking out for her work in the future. Dante is a mafia don who is haunted by his brother’s death, and is out for vengeance, and when he goes to collect a debt from someone that owes a lot of money, he finds that he has skipped town, so he takes Elena as collateral. Elena is a medical student and when Dante arrives at a college party looking for her boyfriend, she has no choice but to work for him to settle the debt, which she does by patching up his men and as a hostess in one of the clubs. The chemistry between these two is sizzling and undeniable, but they both want different things out of life. This is a good story which is dark, and intense, with twists, lies, secrets, betrayal, drama, revenge, and love. The only downside and this is just in my opinion, is that I am not a fan of cheating. I was intrigued throughout this story and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I had really trouble with this story. The writing couldn't draw me in and neither did the characters. This was my first read by this author and I don't think, I will read any other books from her. It's just not for me, other might enjoy it.

I love it!!
This author is on Episode and her stories are amazing. This particular story is one of my favorite and I can’t wait to read book two. There were a few more details of this story on the app. However, this book is just as good. This author is amazing and phenomenal. This book was filled with love and pain, mafia, and hurt and twist and turns; the perfect combination for the perfect book. I can’t wait to continue the series.

I loved this! I had already read this on other platforms, so I was so excited when I saw it was being published. I'm a sucker for stories like this, I can read 1 daily, for sure! Dark Temptation kept me hooked when I first read it, and I had no doubt it would do the same the second time! I cannot wait for the rest of the series to be published!

Dark Temptation left me quite conflicted in a lot of ways. First of all, I really did enjoy Sarah Amelle's writing style which was addictive as I couldn't put the book down despite the big issue I had with it. Eleni is on her way to become a doctor when she comes face to face with mafia don, Dante, who was there to collect money from her boyfriend. That cowardly boyfriend left Eleni holding the bag so Dante takes her & soon she starts working off the coward's debt. They have chemistry in spades & once it ignited, they exploded into super hot sexy times. However here comes the big issue that I had, DANTE ended up being just as cowardly as the boyfriend in my opinion. Look, I can forgive a hero who hurts the heroine's feeling but sleeping around because he can't handle his feelings?! Yeah, he's a coward, and then when she moved on, he took that man away from her because he could sleep with others but she couldn't. I DESPISE Dante, and NEVER got over the decisions he made so if it weren't for the suspense that kept me in the story, I would have totally given a lower rating because of Dante's actions. So, while I believe Eleni deserved better I will read more by this author in the future! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the first time I've read a book by this author and I was not disappointed one bit, this is an amazing story from this author. This story follows the characters Dante and Eleni, there relationship is tension filled and there chemistry is sizzling between them from the start. This is a dark, intense story with lots of twists and turns, lies, secrets, betrayal, drama and love. You will be hooked by the first page with this story and won't want to put it down till the end, you will be reading long into the night.

Eleni's douchecanoe of a boyfriend skips town while owing a debt to the mafia. Eleni is just trying to get by in school with her goals to be a doctor and now is held captive to circumstances of having to pay back a debt from her douchecanoe to Dante. Dante being someone who you don't want to cross paths with especially after all that he has been through, the two have a pull towards each other... There are some strong female characters in this story and that was a win for this book for me. There was a little too much back and forth for me as far as POV's go, but I enjoyed the story. This was the first one I have read by Sarah Amelle. I am a mafia book lover and so I always have high expectations and feel that they should be dark and just dirty per say lol.

I thought Dark temptation was a interesting story it is book one in the Dark hearts series and I can't wait to read more by Sarah Amelle in the future . The first page really hooks you and makes you want to know what's going to happen . This was one of those stories that is different from what I normally read but I liked every moment of it . Loved the chemistry between Elena and Dante it was off the charts hot . There was a downside for me that is a big no no but over all this was a good book and I can't wait to read more by the author in the future .

This was an interesting book, and my first time reading anything by Sarah Amelle. Dante and Eleni are looking for different things from each other and need to desperately get on the same page. With Eleni paying off her boyfriends debt to Dante, we’re bound to get some tension between the two. Lots of steam coming from them. There were aspects of the book I was not thrilled with, but that’s just a personal preference for me. I would still read the next book in this series.

So, let me preface this by saying this was the first book I’ve read by this author. And the premise of the story really had me intrigued. I love dark books, I enjoy the dramatic side of things usually. And I enjoyed this book, other than the OW/OM aspect. That’s a turn off for me, but otherwise I enjoyed the storyline.
