Ellie Mitchell has spent the better part of the last five years trying to move on from her past. As far as she's concerned, being alone is the best medicine. That is, until a certain football star comes barreling into her life, unexpected and oh so persistent.
Mason Jackson is a man who knows what he wants. And he wants Ellie. Ellie isn't like any woman he's met before with her quick wit and complete disinterest in his fame. Now, he'll need to convince her that taking a chance on him is worth it.
When Ellie's past resurges with dangerous consequences, Mason will do everything and anything to protect the woman he loves.
This is the story of Ellie and Mason, a Ride Series crossover novel.
Megan O'Brien is the best selling author of The Ride Series and the Talon Security Series. She has a passion for a good love story and most enjoys writing stories with an alpha male and strong female characters. Megan was born and raised in Marin County, California where she still resides with her amazing husband and two lovely sons.
When she's not enjoying family time or burying her nose in her kindle she loves hiking, running and relaxing moments on the back porch with a glass of wine.
Mason Jackson meets Ellie Mitchell at a party, the thing about the party is tough that it is at a famous football players house and Ellie could think of several other things she would rather be doing then partying. Mason is entranced by Ellie though and wants to get to know her better, she sees him as Mason not the football star that he is. However Ellie is in danger and Mason gets his family involved to keep her safe, will they be able to?
Having read everyone of this talented authors book Mason is one of the kids from the previous books. I loved every moment of this book, plus you get some of your favorite characters paying a visit in this book. Mason oozes alpha male, I thought his character was fascinating and I really enjoyed Ellie as his girl. Wonderful story.
The wait was so worth it! Did I read this in one sitting and dropped everything to do so? YES. yes I did! Check out my FULL REVIEW & TEASER on my Blog -> CLICK HERE
This author was a recommendation from a friend and I fell inlove with her books. And after reading Mason I feel like I want to reread the Ride series 😊😍
Mason and Ellie met when her best friend dragged her to a party. After escaping from unwanted attention she goes into one of the rooms thinking it was empty. But she met Mason.
At first Mason wasnt impressed with being disturbed. But when Ellie has no clue who he is he can't be help but want to know more about her.
But Ellie won't be so easy to get to know. She has had some bad things happen to her before and has closed her heart to anything more. However Mason won'tet her get away and will do anything to have her in his life.
I finished this one in one go. I couldn't stop reading as I wanted to know what happened to Ellie. Mason was definitely an alpha male protective of his women. We also had a little glimpse of Axel and Cole and the Knights. When one was in trouble they all came to the rescue. Loved it❤️ An alpha male and a women fighting for her independence what more do you want 😊 I hope there is more coming from this author. It's always a pleasure and enjoyment reading her books 😊😍
3.5 stars Safe, not with others are meeting, he was not a manwhore, she was celibate, no crazy ow scenes. I liked the story, he was a bit overbearing at times and over stepped bounds a time it two in my opinion. One thing that confused me and I may have some how missed the explanation but in the scene where he comes to the rescue, why does he tell the security to remember that he wasn't there? He saved her, would have been a hero, I don't get it. Otherwise enjoyed it, Liked the ending.
This is a sweet read. The Hero and heroine meet and have a brief misunderstanding but the Hero quickly realises she's for him. The heroine is a little slower to take the leap as she has had a bad experience in the past. No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. More or less insta. Ex drama, psychotic ex for the heroine. HEA. Epilogue. Characters from previous author's

I had high hopes for this book but I was left disappointed. Mason's parents had an epic love story and even extended members of his family had great love stories. Ellie meets Mason when she goes to house party and they hit off away from the party and started to get to know each other. But she finds out that he's an NFL player and gets mad that he didn't tell her the truth. Mason was clearly smitten and found her the next day and they go on a date and kind of start dating. I honestly didn't feel the chemistry between Ellie and Mason. Mason was raised by Jill and Cal Jackson, so he had great examples of a loving, healthy relationship and he was very good to Ellie. I didn't really connect with Ellie, she was very rude to Mason when she found out that he didn't divulge to her that her was an NFL player when they first met. But what happened to her with her ex was so horrific and I was so glad she was able to get her life back. But once she gave Mason a real chance, they did have a good relationship and he was very protective of her. The epilogue was one of my favorite parts of the book along with the cameos by Cole, Gunner, Emmie, Jill and Cal.
THIS. This book is what I wanted from Emmie & Gunner. This book honestly had everything. Good character development, good progression, good characters. I don’t want to ruin anything so I won’t go into detail, but I urge you to read it! The only thing preventing me from saying this is a fan favorite is I wanted more Ride than I got.
This is a brand new author I have never read before but I loved this story so much I need to read more of her books. This story is about Mason Jackson, who is a famous football player and one night he has a party at his house but he hates parties and so he hides out in a part of his house. Ellie is at the party with a friend and thats how the two end up talking. But she leaves before he can get her info and so he contacts her at her job as he wants to get to know her.
This was a really wonderful story and I grew to adore Mason and Ellie and they are an adorable couple and I loved watching love blossom for them. But Mason is famous and Ellie has an awful ex who she is hoping won't find her but Mason has a secret weapon. His family are some very powerful bikers and so they come to help them out.
And thats when the Ride Series Crossover happens and well I loved the story up to that point and then I fell hard for the women and men form the Ride series and I have to read those books too. It was an awesome way to add to the story and it gave it a bit of suspense.
This story easily is a standalone but if you have read the Ride Series well then you will love this book even more.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ellie is trying to move on from a traumatic experience. She is finally starting to move on and live her life. She has a great job at an ad agency, loves to paint and enjoys being a homebody. When her best friend drags her to a party she meets Mason. Mason is the star quarterback of the football team and homebody. When Ellie and Mason first meet, he thinks she knows who he is and is after the fame and money. Mason is surprised when he realizes she has no idea who he is! Ellie is a breath of fresh air because she is just a normal girl, talking to a normal guy. They share an incredible hour together getting to know one another. When Ellie finally is told who Mason is, she feels betrayed. Mason has his work cut out for him, but he knows how to win her over. :)
I really enjoyed this story. Both Mason and Ellie had insecurities, but they were able to work through it. They were both instantly attracted to one another, and their relationship moved fast, but I loved it! When her past comes back, Mason is right there to make sure that she is okay. I have not read the MC books about his family, but I definitely will! Even though Mason is a football quarterback, he has a dangerous side to him!
The book has suspense, hot moments, hot football player, guard dog, and swoon worthy moments. Everything that you want and need!
Spent the entire book on the edge of my seat! I am so excited that Megan gave us a new book that although isn’t focused around the MC, does involve them and their families. Ellie has lived her life extremely cautious after a bad experience left her almost dead. Doing a favor for her friend, she attends a party at an ostentatious home, and while looking for a bathroom stumbles upon Mason. Lending his house to a friend for a party, Mason is over the lifestyle, but when Ellie ends up in his room and doesn’t know who he is, he is instantly drawn to both getting to know her and making her his. Using his connections, he tracks Ellie down and after wearing her down she finally goes out with him, and the sparks fly instantly. But once the public finds out that Mason has a new woman in his life, and Ellie’s ex-boyfriend finds out, the trouble starts to come and while they know where it’s coming from, they have no way of proving it, even with Mason calling the MC in. I couldn’t get enough of this book, much like the rest of the books Megan writes, and I loved every bit of it. I can’t wait for the next book – both in and out of the Ride series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Oh Mason, how I knew I would love you, but I couldn't imagine just how much.
It's no secret I have been a huge fan of Megan O'Brien since I first read Cole from her Ride Series. And this hasn't changed with any of the next-gen books. Mason is a bit more of a spin-off; he is next-generation but decided not to go the MC route and instead went into the NFL.
What I loved: The book still gives us the suspense I love so much from this author, but it's outside the MC world. I was worried that maybe I wouldn't love it as much, but I was wrong. The sports theme is just one part of Mason and Ellie's amazing story.
I loved Ellie's back story and how she comes through it. It's obvious she's a fighter. Mason is so so so perfect. I felt like how the author described him in previous books when he was a child is exactly how he turned out to be as an adult. I fell instantly in love with him.
Overall: I really can't say enough great things about this book. I think Megan O'Brien is a really underrated indie author. I adore everything she writes and hope that everyone who reads this becomes as addicted to her books as I am.
I have to be honest here, Megan O'Brien had me at Denver Broncos (it's my beloved NFL team & you don't even want to know how much stuff I have of them LOL). Ellie has a past that she's trying to move on from so it's made her a bit of a loner with the exception of her bestie, and said bestie made Ellie go along with her to a party which is where she comes across Mason (who is a better QB than the real life QB of the Broncos LOL). She's trying to get away from someone so she ends up in his room on accident & he's not the nicest about it until he realized she wasn't a cleat chaser, nope, she had no clue who he was. From there on out, he's determined to make her his while she's a bit more reserved despite the fact that they do have something special, and the sparks are flying. However, she's now in the limelight with the paps so her past comes back for her as the stakes are higher now, but luckily his family has some gifts to help protect her. Mason was a fantastic story that I couldn't get enough of so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Ok so I love a protective, caring alpha-male and Mason takes the cake. Mason and Ellie meet at a party her best friend dragged her to. When the two first meet she was escaping unwanted attention at a party and ended up in Mason's room, thinking it was vacant.
At first, he did not want to be bothered but as he started talking to Ellie, he liked her. She had no idea that Mason was a pro-football player and he liked that because he felt how genuine Ellie was. When she finds out she is a little put-off but understands why he did not reveal his identity right away. As their relationship progresses, quite fast might I add, Ellie doesn't know if she is sure due to past baggage. After a bad relationship that ended horribly, she is apprehensive but Mason shows her how committed and protective he is over her. Mason is willing to do anything to keep Ellie safe and in his life permanently.
When an old threat comes back will Mason be able to keep Ellie safe? Will Ellie finally get the happily ever after with a good man that she deserves?
Loved loved loved this book. Mason is so swoon worthy, your going to want a man like him once your done reading it. Ellie meets Mason one night when get gets dragged to a party by her best friends Lilly. Ellie is trying to escape some guy who is intoxicated and wanders into a room that she thinks is empty. Mason is just lounging when Ellie comes barreling inside his room. Thinking she is another fan he is about to turn her away when he realizes she is hiding from a party guest. They spend the next hour getting to know one another. As Ellie leaves she is unsure she will see him again but little does she know her life is about to change for the better. I won’t say more but go read this book. It is funny, sweet, cute, a little angsty with what happens because of Ellie’s past but overall this book gives you all the best feels. Go read it, you won’t regret it.
Mason was the perfect combo of Alpha Hotness and Ellie , was just the perfect amount of sweetness .I am such a lover of Megan’s books , every one I’ve read has somehow sucked me completely into the life of the characters as well as the story , and MASON - is no different. I became so invested in both Ellie as well as Mason from the very first chapter. Mason has all the feels , my emotions were all over the place and I can’t forget to mention that I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story . It was also great getting to revisit some past characters. Mason was not only a fast paced read but it’s also full of steamy moments and off the charts chemistry. I adored everything about this awesome story .
Mason is a crossover spin off from the Ride series❣️ This story is fast paced, full of suspense and the characters are awesome😁 Ellie meets Mason when she accidentally walks into his room at a party, trying to escape an over enthusiastic guy.
Unbeknownst to Ellie, the house monstrosity is his but he’s enthralled with her from the first word out of her mouth and especially because she doesn’t know of him because of his football fame😍Ellie unfortunately has a dark past which once she’s tied to Mason, comes to the fore😢
This story also allows us to catch up with some old favourite characters and is a good story if you want a quick read and something to sink your teeth into quickly❤️
I loved going back to this world that Megan O'Brien has created. We knew a few books ago that Mason was going to play football and not join the MC (at least not yet). We even got to see him in Emmie's story and we knew then that he was lonely. Mason finally meets someone that makes him take notice, only to kind of mess it up before they even really start. But he is determined to get her to forgive him and give him a second chance. Will Ellie give him that chance? Ellie and Mason's story had a bit of drama, some sweet moments, and a few spicy bits; this was a really entertaining read and I'm hoping this isn't the last story in this world. I give this 5 stars.
Ellie is trying to move on from her past and when her best friends drags her to a party, she has no clue who Mason who is a football star is and the sparks fly between them. Mason is intrigued and tracks Ellie down and tries to convince her to take a chance on them having a relationship, but she is wary due to a past experience. When Ellie’s past comes back to haunt her Mason will do whatever he must to protect and keep her safe. This is a beautifully written story which is filled with emotions, suspense, intrigue, and love, which all leads to an entertaining and all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This was a fast paced read that was intriguing and steamy. Mason is a famous football player but when he meets Ellie it is like a breath of fresh air because she has no clue who he is, so they spend time getting to know each other and enjoy the same things. Ellie has been through a tough time with her ex so when she finds out that Mason lied by omitting who is really is she feels betrayed, and he has his work cut out for him to get her back. They have an instant chemistry and things move at a fast pace for them but will her past come back to haunt her and hurt Mason’s career or will it bring them closer together? I really enjoyed this read because as things do move quickly it is still suspenseful, hot, and a fun book. I hope Ryan and Lily get their story because it seems like they too have an attraction but things that they need to figure out as well.
Beautiful! Megan O’brien is my favorite author, I love her series and Cal and Cash are my favorites Heroes ever with Payne from Jessica Gadziala but the last book left a bad taste for me, I didn’t enjoy Gunner… I don’t know, something didn’t felt like her, it felt rushed. This book is so romantic, a big and completely devoted to his woman Hero, a strong and sassy heroine who felt for the good man… so perfect! The sex scenes from this author aren’t the best , I’m a dirty reader and I like a more elaborated scenes but the rest is amazing! Safe, cute and sexy romance book!!!
No woman is ready for a Jackson man. They are alpha to the Max and once they set their sights on you...well it’s easier to just give in. And a lot more fun! Lol
I love Mason! I have for a long time and I’m so happy he has his time in the spotlight now.
Ellie is a breath of fresh air for Mason. She couldn’t be more perfect in his eyes.
We always have a little drama with our romance with these boys and it keeps you on your toes.
Mason gave me all the feels. Ellie and Mason melted my kindle, made me laugh, and made me read this book in one sitting. I could not put this book down. I loved it. Mason was so good. I really loved these two. Ellie was relatable and completely perfect for Mason. I loved Mason. He was so alpha and sweet for Ellie. The epilogue was perfect. I enjoyed seeing everyone again. I cannot wait for the stories ahead.
I was a bit disappointed in Ellie's character. She was distrustful of Mason who was bending over backwards to help her! She was a bit cruel when she had to "think things through" while ignoring his calls. Mason was the best part of the book....all alpha male! It was a bit slow due to the stalker parts being very mild and few.
Sports romance with a little Motorcycle Club action happening? Give it to me!
This book was such a quick read. I loved every single moment of it, and sincerely hope that Megan O'Brien writes more sports romance with the MC club tie-in. Also, I need to go back and read the Ride Series. Now to figure out when to squeeze it into my schedule.
If you like alpha males, sports romance, instalove, a little suspense, and some help from a MC club, then go pick up Mason by Megan O'Brien. Just trust me on this.
I swear Mason's book will not disappoint you. You will fall in love with Mason and Ellie and how Mason is with Ellie. I am glad he got his happily ever after. Look forward to reading more books of Megan's when she releases them.
Super wonderful story! I love these books! Mason & Ellie have an instant connection that is so sweet. Their banter, friendships with Lily & Ryan, their time spent with families, the bit of suspense... All comes together beautifully!!
I have loved all of Megan O’Brien’s books and this one was no exception. Mason is just a swoon-worthy as the MC boys. I adored Ellie and Mason’s chemistry from the first time they meet. Such a good book
