Lessons from the letter of 1 understand the fullness of God's love and how it's meant to be lived out. More than any other New Testament writer, John wrote about love. He was one of Jesus' closest disciples, and his first letter is both challenging and comforting—but, ultimately, it's about living out (and living into) God's unconditional, extravagant, lavish love. In this Bible study, Wendy Blight walks you through 1 John, taking you deeper into an understanding of God's love and what that love means for you, daily... "I always knew in my head God loved me. But it wasn't until I opened the pages of 1 John that I truly experienced His love down to the depths of my soul. Exposing my heart to God's love through John's eyes transformed my heart and life in ways I could never have imagined." —Wendy. While going through this study, I did really appreciate her perspectives and enjoyed her straightforward, convicting paragraphs. There’s a lot of important truth in this study and it was interesting to see it coincide with a lot of situations in our Bible study.
However, right before checking in for a flight, I removed the study from my checked bag. When I got up to the check-in desk, a random United Airlines man came up to me and took the study OUT OF MY HANDS. He kept saying, “you have a book for me? Is this a Christian book? This is for me, right?” Confused and worried about my notes and Goodreads process, I politely took the study back and told him he could find it on Amazon.
Then before I entered security, I remembered I also could find it again on Amazon. I walked it back to him and gave it to him. He responded with, “Thank you, sister.”
And I have no idea what happened to the study. I never bought it again or finished it because I thought, “well, I must have learned everything I needed too.”
God clearly was using the study in a crazy cool way and wherever you are United Airlines man, I hope you’re growing and learning!
