Overall, I liked this BIS devotional and being able to read the short grace-filled passages during my quiet mornings. However, instead of using it as a weekly devotional, I read it almost daily, since I would forget what the previous week's devotional was about and, honestly, because I wanted to get through the book quicker. The passages are short, which makes them convenient to read if you don't have a lot of time. Some of the devotions stuck out to me more than others. Depending on which author wrote any given week's devotional, their life experiences were interesting/touching to read but, naturally, I couldn't relate to all of them. The conclusions for some (or many) of them seemed a little "fluffy" and not all that realistic or actionable. God bless each of the women who wrote the devotionals though. I can admire the vulnerability of their experiences and I'm sure they mean well with their encouraging words to the reader. But I'd appreciate less "fluffy" wrap-ups for the individual devotionals. There was too much of a "you too, sister" kind of vibe at the end of many of them, which feels over-used and not truly raw or authentic any more. It made many of the devotionals sound the same and didn't leave me a with true "nugget" of spiritual truth to ponder on for the rest of the day, which is why I would forget what I read about the next time I opened the book.
