The Wonder of Creation is a lovely book of 100 devotions about go and science for children and families to share together. Each day in the book starts off with not only a scripture but also facts about creation of the world around us. Each fact and scriptures aim is to teach about God and encourages the child and family to recognise and appreciate all the gifts around us and be thankful for what we have. This is a lovely book which would make a lovely gift for any child who wants to learn more on this subject.
A family devotion that will bring families to discover God's promises. It is also a book on worship. Each day starts with scripture and a facts about creation that are fascinating especially to young children. It brings an awe to the creator and a realization of the gifts we have. Each new fact brings you to the knowledge of God. It ends with a simple prayer and "Explore the Wonder".
It seems to me that thankfulness and wonder are linked together and gives to true worship. Highly recommend.
A special thank you to Thomas Nelson and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
I’m working through this one with my 9 year old currently; however, I technically haven’t read every devotion yet due to the devotional format. That said, we’re enjoying it thus far. I love that it covers a variety of science topics that all point back to God and include practical faith application. She specifically likes that it includes a variety of interesting facts and photos in each entry.
From a practical perspective, I appreciate that you have the option to work through the devotions topically or in the order they appear in the book. I also appreciate the free downloads that are available for educators and parents.
*I received a free copy of this devotional for review purposes.
I found myself in wonder with each page turn which offered something new and wonderful to ponder for both adults and children. I have always been a big fan (understatement) of God the Creator. This book did not disappoint in its awe factor.
An especially appreciated feature was the seamless weaving of current day science facts with aspects of God’s creation which are timeless. God’s sense of order and range of diversity are principles from the beginning. I felt that reading this book reignited curiosity in the natural world that could help me understand God’s continuing sovereignity over the universe.
Finally, the devotions hit right on target with comfort and help in addressing personal concerns with application of God’s word. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for doing an honest review which I have presented here. #WonderOfCreationMIN #thewonderofcreation #MomentumInfluencerNetwork
The Wonder of Creation is a 100 day devotional, combining STEM related content and a simple lesson about faith, God and the Christian life for kids. Throughout the book there are charming illustrations sure to capture the attention of the reader. This devotional is in an easy to read and engaging format. Each day begins with a Scripture reference, followed by a science related story (in varying fields of interests from astronomy, the human body, oceanography, inventions and more!), a tie in to either a story from Scripture/ lesson about God's character/ instruction on how to live a a believer etc., and ending in a very simple prayer for the child to use.
I loved the layout and illustrations. I loved the diversity of the children included in the illustrations. I really enjoyed the scientific content. However, I disliked the fact that the Bible verses were taken from 8 different versions of the Bible. I wish the author would have chosen 1 translation (possibly 2) to work from, so that if the child or parent would like to go to that passage and read it, it would match up with what's in this devotional.
For the most part, I found the spiritual content appropriate for kids between the ages 8-12, although there were several that I didn't fully align with. Specifically, one referenced the "vibrations" you can speak out to the world (to be fair, I think it was being literal, because the lesson was on vocal chords - but it was still cringy, I don't think it's wise to mix terminology used in New Age or Eastern religions in Christian devotionals), several that seemed to equate stopping pollution with holiness, one that actually listed helping kids in foster care in the same category as helping animals...???, and one that said drawing a picture and using your imagination is an act of worship - without even mentioning God in the process. Simply drawing a picture, is not worship. It COULD be an act of worship, but more careful explanation is needed here, especially for kids.
So, overall, I think there's a lot of good in this book - but I advise parents to read through it ahead of time and to read it with your child to clarify any problematic content.

Devotionals don't need to be boring or superficial or cheesy, and this one proves that.
I have not read the other books by this author, but I'm definitely going to be checking them out now. This devotional takes the wonders of the world and creation (true facts), highlights little known as well as more known ones, and shows how wondrous creation truly is. Each devotion starts with a very short verse before the science end of something is discussed. Then, in the last paragraph, all of it is tied together and ends with a short, related prayer. As an extra bonus, another interesting tidbit of science is added in a colorful side-box. There's a Table of Contents in the beginning to make things easy to find and an index at the end for those searching for something specific. Add the interesting foreword, which not gives the author a chance to explain why he does these devotionals, but it also shows which devotions fall into one of four science themes, and encourages readers to visit their favorites.
This is such a well-done read that I've decided to lay down our usual devotional (although we're only halfway through) and use this one instead. My kids, although older, do love science and find this one more interesting than the more 'personal/emotional' one I'd picked up this summer. These devotions are about two pages, but they are interesting and my kids, who usually love quick ones, have no problem listening to these. The author doesn't talk down to the reader but helps waken curiosity about creation and how amazing it is.
There are illustrations as well as photos to lighten the mood and give readers an impression of what some things truly look like. The information is laid out in an understandable manner and, more than a few, were new facts to us. The Bible verse doesn't necessarily fit 100% in all ways, but the author makes sure there is a related topic in some way or another. So, everything does tie together well enough. The devotion part doesn't come across as preachy and is also easy to connect with and understand.
As said, we've switched over to this one and are enjoying it quite a bit. I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed the way it was written
Long long ago in, what sometimes seems like a galaxy far far away, my dad sat down with a Bible and a set of children's devotionals and worked through them with me every day. I would follow along as he read and he would underline each word with his finger. Like several famous historical figures, I learned to read from the Bible. Totally true story. If there's one thing, or rather two things, that I can tell you it's that there is a lot of power in children's devotionals and that there is nothing like taking the time to read to your kids. Both will stay with that child long after they have grown up.
With those things in the back of my mind I read The Wonder Of Creation. Straight through, cover to cover. Not only was I fascinated by all of the science facts, impressed by Louie Giglio's (with Tama Fortner) skill at weaving science and faith principals together so cohesively, and charmed by Nicola Anderson's totally cool illustrations, but I found myself benefiting from all of it even as an adult.
The Wonder Of Creation's layout is easy to read and utilize. Each 'chapter' consists of a Bible verse, science facts (pertaining to space, earth, animals, and people) that are then cleverly drawn into an important faith or life lesson, a prayer that directly relates to the chapter, and a bonus type related scientific fact. Each one is also accompanied by at least one full color illustration and some even have an additional photo. One other big bonus is the way pronunciation guides have been embedded for most of the 'big' words. The book is simple enough for reading age kids to do on their own but it would also be ideal for (grand)parents to read together with their grand(child).
Louie Giglio (with Tama Fortner) and illustrator Nicola Anderson have done an excellent job putting The Wonder Of Creation together. Even as an adult I found myself learning some new things and being inspired by the lessons and prayers. I enjoyed reading the book and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to families...
(I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
A few years ago I was looking for a devotional that would be good for my younger kids and someone recommended “Indescribable” by Louie Giglio. It had beautiful, bright pictures and short devotions that were perfect for my kids.
Recently, I was given the opportunity to read and review Louie’s newest devotional for children – “The Wonder of Creation: 100 More Devotions about God & Science.” I was excited because I figured if it was anything like his first one it would be a WIN! And I wasn’t wrong!
This children’s devotional is GREAT! Especially for those children that love understanding science and nature and the world around them and how it all fits with who God is!
I was flipping through the pages and landed on the “Under Attack” devotional. It talks about why sometimes we get a cold and how God specifically designed our bodies so that we could fights germs. When there are larger (maybe more unfamiliar words) you will find those sounded out too!
This devotional talks about how germs can attack us physically, but how also the devil can attack us with troubles but God gives us a way to fight off those attacks with prayer!
Each devotional contains an “Explore the Wonder” section. These will be fun science facts about all of the incredible things that are in our earth and universe. God has made SO many amazing things and each page of this devotional captures a small piece of that!
I love that through this devotional, children will be drawn to both the wonder of the world around them and also encouraged to thank God for all He has given us. 100 inspiring, wonder-filled devotions in all. You are going to want a copy of this book for your kids or grandkids!

The Wonder of Creation: 100 More Devotions About God and Science is not the first book I have read by Louie Giglio, but it is the first Children’s Devotional I have read from Mr. Giglio. The Wonder of Creation: 100 More Devotions About God and Science is geared toward 6-10 year-olds. The Wonder of Creation has 100 devotional entries that look at parts of Creation and science through a Biblical lens. Each devotion takes an illustration from creation and science and brings it back to Jesus and His Word. Each devotion entry includes a Bible verse, a prayer, and a neat scientific fact that corresponds with the devotional. A devotional entry may cover information about animals, how our bodies work, space, taking care of the planet, amongst other topics.
Science is not really my forte (usually because I have a hard time understanding it), but I really enjoyed the devotions in The Wonder of Creation because the science in the devotions were written in a way that I could understand it–especially how seamlessly it was tied back to Jesus. In other words, if I can understand it, it’s highly probable that a 6-10 year-old will understand it and enjoy it as well. I like how short, impactful, and easy to understand each devotion entry is and how the author always found a way to point what he was talking about to the Word of God. The illustrations are awesome too. I think this book would be perfect to utilize in a Christian Education setting or to incorporate in homeschool lessons as well as personal devotional time. I highly recommend The Wonder of Creation: 100 More Devotions About God and Science and believe kids will enjoy it! I am looking forward to reading the other children’s devotionals that Louie Giglio has written too!
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. (My review is also on Goodreads and my blog, Leslie's Library Escape.)
Louie Giglio's newest kid devotional, "The Wonder of Creation: 100 More Devotions About God & Science" is a fantastic addition to any kid's library. Perfect for kids to read on their own (it's written for ages 6-10), in morning family devotional times, or at bedtime, "The Wonder of Creation" introduces kids to amazing and often lesser-known science facts. These cover every subject from the earth, to space, to people and animals. The pages are colorful, beautifully-illustrated and contain science facts that are truly marvelous and fascinating...that the author then uses to point readers to God and His wonders.
There are 100 devotions contained in the book. Printed on shiny, smooth paper with rich color, each devotion spans two facing pages. There's a title, a Bible verse, a reading about a science fact and how it connects to God, a sidebar with more cool information, and a short prayer at the end of each. Some of my favorite topics and pages included: how geodes are made; why there are so many volcanoes on Jupiter's moon Io; why people have curly or straight hair; NASA's very cool robot that's inspired by origami; the octopus garden off the California coast; and so many more! Each devotion's reading points very naturally to the Bible verse included with it, like Luke 16:10 (faithfulness in little things) illustrated by how important toes are to the human body. Or, like how archaeology and animals of the deep illustrate the truth of God's Word (2 Samuel 7:28).
I love how science can fascinate children, even as it shows God's hand in everything. Louie Giglio's newest devotional will delight your kids, draw them to the coolness of science, and remind them that God's love and care for them are huge, and they can be reminded of it every day.
I received a copy of this devotional from HarperCollins Christian Publishing. Opinions are 100% my own.
In a world where STEM is becoming more of a recognized part of the curriculum, we are increasing our children's knowledge of the world of science. In the religious sector, normally science was frowned upon as the thoughts of science go against God's creation and the world according to the bible. What though if you could combine Science and Religion and make it an easy to understand and fun read for Children? Therefore, you are still acknowledging the world of science and everything that comes with it but you are still instilling the knowledge of God's creation and the wonders of him into your children. Christian author Louie Giglio has put those two aspects together to create The Wonders of Creation, which is a 100-day devotional which each is a page long and can be done in the morning when you wake up as a family discussion before school or at night before they go to bed. Growing up in a Christian household, we had a family bible and, in the mornings,/nights - my siblings and I would sit on Mum and Dad's bed and they would read one of the stories and then we would have a family discussion about the story - a family devotional time and as I am older now - this always remains as one of my cherished memories and now with The Wonders of Creation by Louie Giglio, you can do this with your child. Each devotional is a page long and contains a bible verse, a story relating to the particular bible verse, discussion questions, and then as I said above this book has a science aspect to it - each devotional also has a related explore area to facts about animals, monuments, space, etc. This devotional is more aimed for boys as they tend to have a more logical mind and are perfect for ages 8-12 years old and if you are still stuck for a new devotional to start 2022 with, then this could be the one you are looking for.
My daughter enjoys her devotional while learning about science. This is the third book in the series and I can’t say enough about all of them. They are fantastic, Biblically sound, inspirational, and help you to see God’s creation in all things.
This is a full-colored book with colorful illustrations and photos. A ribbon book marker is provided also. The intended age is 6-10. I think older kids will enjoy this also.
There are 100 devotions each one has a Bible verse at the beginning of the page and ends with a prayer. The devotion compliments the scripture in a two-page format. There are boxes on each of the 100 devotions. Some of them are “Explore the Wonder” or “Share the Wonder”. A few interesting concepts: To Curl or Not To Curl?, Who Owns the Moon, Fight or Flight?, That’s no Joke and other fun scientific devotions. One that stood out to my daughter with everything going on in the world was “Under Attack” which talks about colds and how the virus enters our bodies. The reactions of that God designed with our white blood cells to fight off germs and viruses. Then it goes on to explain the spiritual battle and God gives us a way to fight back. If you have difficult words don’t worry they are broken down to help you out.
The devotions cover topics on space, Earth, animals, and people. My family loves the devotions that Louie Giglio has created for kids. As a homeschool mom, I can see this being used as a jump-off to science concepts taught in your homeschool The spiritual aspects covered are very practical to everyday life.

The Wonder of Creation is a fascinating devotion book for children—especially those interested in science.
With 100 two-page devotions, this book is chock-full of worship, wisdom, and wonder! The activities, Scripture verses, prayers, and scientific facts focus on God’s magnificent creations of Space, Earth, Animals, and People.
Each devotion includes a Bible verse that sets the tone for the information that follows and closes with a brief one or two sentence prayer. The accompanying illustrations are colorful and trendy, employing six diverse young explorers (Evyn, Raz, Norah, Joshua, Clarke, and Adelynn) to guide readers along the journey.
I love how unique this book is. It isn’t the classic kind of devotional, showcasing Bible stories, lessons, and such. Instead, these readings involve the scientific wonders of the current world we live in.
For example, devotion 1, titled Get a Little Closer, focuses on how little we know about the bottom of the oceans, and how NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) maps, takes pictures, and collects samples of the ocean floor each year.
I love the stimulating topics, uplifting messages, and encouraging Explore the Wonder sections, and how each of these aspects grow a child’s curiosity and wonder of God and the world he created for us.

The Wonder of Creation 100 More Devotions About God and Science by Louie Giglio with Tama Fortner and illustrations by Nicola Anderson is an engaging devotional for kids.
This devotional brings learning about God, themselves, and the world we live in together in an easy-to-understand way.
There are four main creation topics in the devotional you can choose to read through all at once or just go in the order of the book from start to finish. The creation topics are listed in the introduction section and each can be found by going to the directed page number listed. The topics are Space, Earth, Animals, and People.
Each devotion features an illustration ( sometimes a full-color photograph!), title, scripture verse ( taken from a variety of different Bible versions), devotion, a short prayer, and a neat scientific fact (“Explore the Wonder” facts). I like the format of the devotional and that it’s not difficult to understand for children.
One of my favorite devotions is called “A Fortress To Go”. It talks about how a turtle carries its shell which is a protective place and how with God we also have that protection in Him and how we can always call on him!
The hardcover version I have is very nice. I like it includes a ribbon bookmarker to keep our place when reading each day. The pages are glossy and the colorful illustrations really stand out.
The Wonder of Creation by Louie Giglio with Tama Fortner is a fascinating book of devotions about God and science that is sure to delight elementary-aged children. The engaging illustrations by Nicola Anderson and striking photography in this fun and informative book highlight each of the 100 devotions. The book features a scientific fact or an easy activity for exploring faith, a short Bible verse, and a closing prayer.
Readers of the book will explore Animals--from honeyguide birds to flying snakes to white rhinos Space--from black holes to volcanic moons to gamma-ray bursts People--from optical illusions to brain freezes to our immune systems Earth--from rainbow rivers to blue lava to flowing glaciers And much, much more!
I enjoyed reading through The Wonder of Creation. It was informative, and focused on the incredible world that God created for us to enjoy. The devotions fit with the scientific facts perfectly, and the short prayer is an extra connection to God to tie it all together. Younger readers will need more help, but the parental involvement actually makes Devotion Time even more special and memorable. I highly recommend it for a child, but even more so as a book for a family to read together. Get a copy now.

Louie Giglio's devotionals have become our very favorites around here! We use them for both science and Bible time in the early elementary years, but they are so interesting that the older kids gather around when they hear me reading to the younger ones. I've found all of the kids paging through them at various times, and they often provide topics for discussion around the dinner table in the evening. I always learn new things from them as well! We often use these as springboards for doing more research. I find they are perfect for a gentle introduction to science for my littles, and I love that they get us in the habit of looking for spiritual truth in everything we learn! This third installment continues in the tradition of the first two, and we couldn't be happier! We loved learning the scientific name for brain freeze: sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia, and we are looking forward to more as we are still reading our way through it. I highly recommend this for kids of all ages. Honestly, I recommend it for adults too since I love reading them myself!

Currently reading this gem of a devotional with my two nieces (ages 6 & 11) and we are very much enjoying all the wonderful knowledge that is contained in this book. We look forward to reading together, and I (a 33 year old) am even learning about things that I had no prior knowledge of.
Each reading starts with a Bible verse, then comes the science/nature information that also ties into a lesson that involves God, and ends with a prayer. The readings aren't lengthy & drawn out - instead they are short but sweet passages that can easily keep the attention of those with shorter attention spans.
I'm so thankful to be able to share this with my nieces - to see them expand their minds & hearts with the all the goodness in this book & watch them grow closer to God.
This is a unique approach to a devotional, & I can't recommend this enough - it would be excellent for children or families who are just now growing in their faith with God & just as beneficial to those that already love & praise him!
Important to acknowledge the illustrations also - my youngest niece was immediately drawn to the colorful artwork on the cover & we had to start reading it right then and there!
Welcome to the Wonder of Creation Children’s Book Review and Giveaway. This book is written by Pastor Louie Giglio. Because kids are curious it’s fun and easy to teach them about God’s creation. This book can be used as a devotion or a homeschool lesson. Each of the 100 devotions include Scripture, interesting content about science, prayers, fun activities, and super photos. There are four topics throughout the book: animals, space, people, and earth. Children will learn so much and many times one of the devotions is going to get your child more curious. They will want to learn more about the particular topic and a great learning experience will be the result. The best part is that children will see how powerful and good God is. As they learn about things in the sky or under the sea, they’ll be amazed about The Wonder of Creation.

A delightful devotional for children that explores the wonders in the world that God made.
Containing 100 devotionals, each one starts with a Scripture and a feature of a unique animal or phenomena, closing with a word of encouragement, fun fact and prayer. I enjoyed learning fun facts from a Christian perspective worshipping God for his magnificent creation, in a way geared to young children and stoking their curiosity. This is would be a great book to read together with the young person in your life, making a great gift as well.
I loved how this book affirms how God created the world and each of us, and this book has great potential to spark curiosity in growing minds. Accompanied by fun an fitting illustrations, this book is very well done and would be a great addition to a homeschool curriculum. A wonder inspiring reminder of how great our Creator is!
Giglio is back with another amazing Devotional book. I recently received a copy of this book and it is amazing. There are 100 devotions based on the Wonder of God. Have you ever looked at nature and science and seen the hand of God? Well, you wouldn’t be alone. Hundreds of the Fathers and Mothers of Science made ground breaking finds because they believed in God and that he was in control of it all!
This devotional book will help your child and yourself to learn many different things and find yourself captured in the Wonder of God and his creation. Things like Narwhal’s tooth, and a flying lemur that’s not a lemur and doesn’t fly! This is a great devotion for any child who loves learning, or even just tidbit facts to share!

My kids are full of questions about how the world works and being out in nature often only adds fuel to their curiosity. We've been enjoying the devotional, "The Wonder of Creation" by Louie Giglio so much in recent days. The short reading for each day shares something interesting about how our world works, while also drawing a connection to faith. The book is geared for 6-10 year olds, but my 4 year old has been pouring over the illustrations and can't get enough. There are often days when he asks for another reading as soon as the first one is finished.
It is always a bonus when I get to learn along with my kids, and this book offers that. I've loved the gentle reminders for my own faith, as well as learning things about our world (firenados for example!) that are new to me. I'm grateful that this book offers some depth while still being age-appropriate and fun. A definite win for us!

This is a colorful and fun eye catching type book for youngsters. Once you get into the book it has some creative and unique science information that is then created into a devotional with scripture. There is usually one verse and then science and then tying it in with Biblical ideas. There are some things I didn't completely agree with. But I think if you are choosing to read a devotional such as this, it is the parent's judgement on teaching the child more deeply on what the Bible is saying. I think for kids that enjoy science or perhaps think more in such terms, this would be a good book to get them engaged in the Bible and Biblical truths about God. There are some great questions in the parent's guide.
If you are looking for a unique kids devotional this might be a good option for you, I just recommend that you back it up with your Bible!

In The Wonder of Creation, children will find new delight in God's creativity with 100 devotions that explore animals, space, people, and Earth. With engaging illustrations and striking photography, each devotion features a scientific fact or an easy activity for exploring faith, a short Bible verse, and a closing prayer. The Wonder of Creation is ideal for science-loving kids, Bible-loving kids, and any child ready to go deeper in faith. As kids explore this awe-inspiring devotional, they’ll be amazed at the many wonders God has made.
I highly recommend this book for families to use as a devotional at the start of the day, or as a powerful wrap up the day before little ones drift off to sleep. Just imagine what they will dream about. It’s attention-grabbing, entertaining, colorful, fascinating, and worshipful as each short devotional points clearly back to our creative God. He didn’t have to make our world so cool, but He sure did! I enjoyed it so much, I bought a copy for my seven-year-old granddaughter. Shoot, this book isn’t just for kids, it is for all of us! 5 stars.
This beautiful eye-catching book is one that will become a wonderful teaching book for my children and many others. The images are bold and colorful and draw you in, which encourages digging in deeper. In each devotional there is a Bible verse, a one-two page story, and then a cool "explore the wonder" science fun fact. These tie in extremely well with the devotional and connect with an incredible string the wonders of God and the nature of science.
As a parent that homeschools this devotional has now found a place in our school books, along with Mr. Giglio's other devotional, Indescribable: 100 Devotions for Kids About God and Science. The layout of this book makes it perfect for morning routines as well as bedtime story times.
If you haven't already, pick up this book today for the next birthday or simply just because. It is a wonderful addition to your life as a help to lead your child to see the Wonder of Creation and to meet the Creator Himself.
The Wonder of Creation is a great devotional that pairs Bible verses, prayers, and devotions with scientific facts - so you learn interesting things throughout the book. Each devotion has a Bible verse, devotion, prayer, and "explore the wonder" section.
I've enjoyed browsing through the book and I think it would make for a great devotion to do with your kids. They also have a Parent Discussion Guide (here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y70T...).
The hardcover is well made and has a bookmark tassel, which makes marking your place easy. I think the graphics are fun and I definitely recommend this book.

The third in a series of best selling kids' devotionals, The Wonder of Creation picks up the theme of tying God into scientific concepts. Categorized by earth, space, animals, and more, this title shares even further about how uniquely and wonderfully made our world is. Each devotion contains an Old or New Testament scripture, a brief description of the scientific principle, what this shows us about God and ourselves, a short prayer, and an additional scientific insert entitled "Explore the Wonder." The illustrations are fun and engaging, and the information is just enough to encourage further investigation without being overwhelming. The Wonder of Creation has been a beautiful addition to our homeschool routine and we're really enjoying this one. Great for elementary age learners.

This is one of the best devotionals I have ever read with my boys! It's packed with 100 short devotional readings, weaving science and the marvels of creation into Biblical applications beautifully. It`s filled with colorful pictures, both cartoon and actual pictures and it is a very visually appealing book. My 5 and 7 year old were always engaged and often begged me to read "just one more"! We learned so many interesting facts about animals, space, geography and more and often found ourselves doing a little research afterwards to find out more! I highly recommend this book to any science lovers or young readers who want to grow in awe of their Creator. This would also be a great homeschool resource. *I received a free digital copy of the book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review
