With a looming promotion, a so-so social life, and a best friend about to give birth, Inalia Maxwell has a bit of a full plate. Add to that her quest for a coveted Mason, and she's booked and busy.
Myair Mason has spent his life living with and loving his big family. Love is the furthest thing from his mind, even though a few of his cousins aren't making it look so bad. He thinks it may be time to reconsider.
Especially one he runs across Nali again. They shared the tiniest of moments on an island. Can they foster that memory into something more significant? Can she prove to him that out of all his cousins, he's the one that she wants?
I'm just a girl in love with literature. My love affair with romance novels started with I was 13 and has flourished into an obsession. I've always been a writer. Even when I was a little girl, I always had a pen and a notebook poised to let something out. You Make Me Better is my first project that will be published and I am STOKED. My goal is to write stories surrounding positive black love, with a little humor tossed in.
As always, AshleyNicole came through with another amazing Mason Family tale. If I'm being honest, I wasn't that excited about Myair and Inalia's story. He was not on my list of favorite Mason cousins but, after reading You're The One That I Want, he definitely moved up to top five. Inalia and Myair initially met by accident at the Mason vacation when he save her from almost drowning. It was pretty much love at first sight for Inalia but, she couldn't remember what Myair looked like because all those Masons have the same face. Oh, but she could remember that voice. Fast forward two years later and Inalia finally gets a proper introduction to her Mason Prince at one of their infamous family game nights. I loved how organically Inalia and Myair fell in love. They reconnect at game night then, just happen to run into each other on the train and their love journey takes off from there. The chemistry was apparent from the beginning so, it was easy to believe their instant attraction to one another. We've known from the start how close the Mason clan is but, we got to see how it can also be a burden sometimes. Because of a previous relationship that ended badly, Myair was fighting some insecurities about always being seen as the same and not standing out when it comes to his cousins. So, when Inalia professes her love for him, he questions if she genuinely loves him as an individual or if she could fall in love with any of his cousins. We don't get to see the Masons being vulnerable very often so, it was nice to know that they're not always hard. I was over the moon when we got more Zenaida and Rook. I wasn't expecting them to be apart of this storyline so heavily. We finally got the closure I wanted on their situation with Maxine's crazy azz. Inalia does not play about her bestie and she had no problem letting Maxine know she would get more than that two piece with a honey butter biscuit if she kept effin' with her friend. You're The One That I Want was another Mason family hit. Now that Blink and Myair have found their life partners, we need Old Man Simeon's story next.
Myair and Inalia were so stinking cute! I truly just loved everything about them. I loved their witty banter, their vulnerable moments, and the way they could be themselves with each other. They were friends first and it showed in their relationship. I was a little nervous with Myair at the end but I understood why he was concerned about Nali being with him for him. Good read and so many laugh out loud moments.
I think this one is my favorite so far. I cleary read this series out of order, but it’s safe to say this is my fave so far. I love how easy and oh so unproblematic their love was. I was blushing so hard at their banter and the flirting 🥰🥰. Yes, there’s a little insecurities, but that’s all of us. It made the story more real for me. Myair was swoon worthy IMO. I loved his maturity, his sense of humor and how smart he was. Inalia shot her shot and it was nothing but net. (I don’t know anything about sports. Did that analogy make sense?) or she shoots, she scores. I didn’t want this story to end, but I’ve enjoyed every page. I found this story mushy, just how I like them. 10+
Inalia aka Nali had been overwhelmed with all of the beautiful Mason's when they were on the Island. She was down for any of them, until she ran into her mystery Mason and she was dead set on finding just him. Myair is Nali's mystery man and he seems to have a pull towards her as well. I loved these two together. They were hella funny, always cracking jokes and they genuinely seemed to enjoy being together. Although this was a novella, I felt like they took their time getting to know each other. These two were definitely the sexiest, their chemistry was loud.
The ending threw me for a loop. It just seemed like it was out of nowhere and then just ended 🥴 I realize there are more books to come, but I wanted more for them.
This is my favourite of the series. Myair and Nali had me feeling warm, fuzzy, excited and enthralled. I loved Nali’s personality and Myair’s and they meshed so well, just exuding ‘meant to be together’ vibes. It felt natural, even down to both of their reactions when Inalia said her I love you. I got everything from this read that was needed
I don’t want this family series to end!! Ugh! AshleyNicole does it again and honestly made me love this fun ass family! Inalia and Myair were so cute and fun. Them meeting up how they did was Kismet and I’m soo glad Myair finally realized Inalia was here for him and him only! Mayor’s insecurities were real and him working through them was nice to see, even the special moments with his parents! Speaking of parents Inalia and Irilin’s mom is still trash and almost ruined Zenaida’s baby shower gifts! Which I’m so grateful for that update on Rook and Zenaida!! My faves and makes complete since that her and Inalia are best friends! Both fighters lmao! Overall loved this story and I’m so happy to see these two work it out! I can’t wait for an update on them in the possible next Mason story! Highly recommend this book as well as the other Mason stories!!🖤
I'm already a Mason fan, but there is something so special about *this* Mason story. I think it's because while the other books have shown the beauty in the Mason family comraderie, their love and unity, this book spoke about the other side, the heaviness of being one of many "sames". As much as I loved the romance and passion Myair and Inalia shared, my favorite part of this book was Myair's conversation with his mother and father when he opened up about his insecurities. It just added a lot more context to this beautiful tribe of people called Masons. Now I just need Sherrod, Simeon and Taylor's stories. In that order!😁 BTW, having Zenaida and Rook around was wonderful, like reading an extended epilogue to their story!
This story is a delightful read that masterfully blends spice, humor, and a captivating romance. It brilliantly showcases the dynamics of family interactions that unfold when families come together through marriage, along with the amusing banter among exes. If you're looking for an engaging and entertaining tale, this is a must-read!
Nalia and Myair met last year because of a freak accident. They never exchanged identities, all Nalia knew was he was a member of the Mason family and all of them were HOT and beautiful men. Every women who encountered them wanted them and with so many to choose from, sigh 😌 (clutch my pearls). The opportunity presents itself (again) and even though Nalia doesn’t know his name...she knows she will know him when she sees him again.
This story was so cute and funny! I was not expecting Myair to have such a cool sense of humor. I enjoyed their reconnection and was pleasantly surprised that Myair had doubts that would cause a snag. His bounce back was awesome and more than I expected.
Nalia and Iris’s Mom has some real traumatic issues about being broke. I almost what to know what caused it...almost 😂😂😂😂
Myair & Inalia 💖. Loooooooove! These two might be my favorites and that’s saying a lot 🤣🤣🤣 this was a BOMB read. Absolutely loved this read from beginning to end 🙌🏾 This story will give you all the feels, this author truly has a gift 👏🏾 Happy reading 💖
I need more Mason’s in my life I can’t get enough, I know Simeon will be a tough nut to crack and I know that will be juicy. I love Myair and Nali together and I almost got scared he messed that up but all was redeemed. The way I laughed at their banter baby it tickled everything in me and was so refreshing. Duo wedding coming for Irie and Nali and ‘m excited
Myair and Nali was a match made in heaven. From beginning to end, their interactions were funny and charming. I love how they were able to make jokes out of everything
Whew! I love them damn Mason's! ❤ It's funny how a small interaction, can create such a lasting impression on a person. That is what happened with Inalia. Although Myair was a Mason, with the same face as 29 others, his impact was lasting on her psyche. Myair, not on my radar at all, as he was not spoken of much, but he is that dude! His sense of humor was off the charts, and he and Inalia together were hysterical. Enjoyed how they transitioned from friends, to lovers with ease. When Myair's insecurities began to appear, those conversations with his parents where he laid his soul bare, was beautiful! Inalia, a sweet girl, who was just the perfect match for Myair. Their connection was genuine, and their chemistry was hot as hell! The stories about Inalia's mom, with her cheap self, had me hollering! Ready for more Mason's! Great read! 👍👍👍
I feel like every Mason book I say the current one is my favorite but Myair officially wins! His witty humor and emotional openness makes him book bae material. And pairing him with Nali’s crazy behind is perfection. Side note: Max and Gil both deserve to be on the side of a milk carton.
Inalia has wanted a Mason for a while, in Irilins book My Souls Reflection all she talked about was getting one of them fine Mason men for the night. In her best friend Zenaidas story Smash Into You she was at it again with her infatuation for a Mason. It wasn’t until she met Myair that she determined any Mason just wouldn’t do it had to be him. After saving her from almost drowning she went on the hunt for the nameless faceless Mason, then she heard his voice at a party and knew it was him she wanted.
I honestly thought I would get tired of the Mason family after a while because I have read sibling series with 5 and more books with repetitive storylines and I finally stopped reading them but AshleyNicole Mason family series is not at all like that. I love this Mason family and its beginning to be a little difficult to determine who my favorite Mason man is but Myair is definitely in the top 3.
Myair played no game with his heart, family, or his woman. If you’ve been keeping up with the series we know all the Mason’s have a tight bond especially the siblings and the cousins born in the same year but Myairs bond with his brothers is my favorite. I love how they bicker and fight constantly in a loving sibling bond kind of way that no one else can do. Blink is hilarious in this book. Myair parents give me life, their love for each other is everything and Simeon Sr, don’t play about his wife y’all.
I expected Inalia and all her shenanigans because we got them in My Souls Reflection and Smash Into You and she did not disappoint in this book either. I love her relationship with Zenaida.
Myair and Inalia were great together and Myair was not playing with Inalia in the bed y’all, he had ol girl doing things she told him she would never do but I get it cause Myair was that dude period!!
This was a fun quick read and just what I needed after the serious read I finished before this one.
To keep it honest, this book started off a little slow for me and I was going to give it four stars because I didn't initially feel the connection between Inalia and Myair. They just didn't pair well to me at first. But as the story continued, they grew on me.
For me, the supporting characters were just as profound as the main characters and I loved everything about it. Rook and Zenaida, Irilin and Mirror, and even Myair's parents were great additions to the storyline. I also loved that AshleyNicole introduced us to some of the other cousins that we never really hear about, even if it was just by name only. We know there are 30 of them but for the most part, the Mason stories normally include the usual suspects, like Travis, Rod, Blink and Taylor. I loved that the parents were included in the mix also.
I was TOTALLY surprised by the ending. Definitely didn't expect that, but I'm not mad at any of it.
AshleyNicole thank you for this novel. Novellas are great, but a full story of a Mason is always welcome too. :-)
Okay every time I finish a book in this series I think ok this IS my favorite But I have to say that MyAir’s story tops them all. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
When Myair crosses paths with Nila and saves her from being on the deep end of foam filled swimming pool , during a cousins get way He really doesn’t think anything of it. But Nila makes up her mind that although all 20 of those Mason men were gorgeous he is going to be hers. There was just one problem she didn’t know his name.
6 months later Nila attends a Mason family game night With her sister she sits patiently waiting for her Mr. Mason to show up. Oops another problem one walks in she thinks it’s him yet something seems off as she’s trying to figure it out she heard the voice of “her Mason “ she turns Around and there he was looking just like the man she had just met but she knew that voice and when you know ,you know. Her heart only want Myair Mason and none of the others would do. Nila just needed to convince him of that
You’re The One That I Want: The Mason Family Saga by Ashley Nicole
Drink: “I Choose You” Cherry Chocolate Old Fashioned
Music: I Choose You by Kiana Lede
Inalia “Nali” Maxwell: If, “I’ll know him when I see him,” was a person it would be Nali. She knew what she wanted and had no qualms about going for it.
Myair Mason: If, “middle child,” was a person it would be Myair. He needed and wanted something for himself.
Book seven of the Mason Family Saga was a great way to end this series. These two truly stole the show for the sisters. Blink had our hearts until Myair truly entered the picture lol. Myair and Nali had a beautiful and fun love story. It was such a joy to experience their love. They had us entertain and swooning from beginning to end. This one is a must read for sure.
🗣️ Tiiiimmmmberrr 🌲 Just call me lumber jack Shawny because I’d knock a few of these trees I mean Mason’s down anyday of the week!
Chyyyyyy these Mason’s don’t die they, multiply! At the rate they’re marrying and procreating they can start a Mason Nation 😩😩 just tell me where the capital is because I got my monies ready to set up shop 😩🙃!
I THOROUGHLY enjoyed Myair and Inalia’s story and I’ll never look at cake icing and champagne the same way again!
After bumping into each other at a foam party Nali had her Mason on lock in her mind. He didn’t know it yet but he was hers. Since her sister is with a Mason, they were bound to cross paths and even though it took some time, when they did the rest was history! Myair was so chill and smooth that you couldn’t help but love him. I mean he just oozed sex appeal and BDE! I can’t get enough of this family and look forward to getting to know more of the Mason’s intimately!
So sad to see the Mason family go. I fell in love with this amazing family. I liked Myair and Inalia as a couple. The way that their relationship developed was sweet. No emphasis on sex, just vibes and getting to know each other.I could see how Myair could develop the insecurities he struggled with. Being a member of such a large family of handsome men, you sometimes become invisible. Add in an Ex who used you to get closer to any Mason, I do understand his hesitancy when it came to relationships. However, the way he handled it with Inalia annoyed me. this book got off to a real slow start and when it started to pick up, my interest wasn't the same. The dialogue had some funny parts but it didn't hit me like the previous books. Also, there are lots of errors in this story. It wasn't a bad story but definitely not a re-read for me. I do look forward to more from this family
A true writing genius. This was yet another story about the love between two people and the deep supporting love of family. Inalia and Myair were such a cute couple with a swift romantic and amusing journey to love. These two had much chemistry and an instant deep connection, their witty back and forth banter kept me cracking up. Zee and Rook were still hilarious, and as usual catching up with the Mason family is always welcomed. The interaction between these cousins is refreshing, funny and and great to read about . The banter between Myair and his brothers and parents added much needed depth and insight to the story and explained a lot once Myair's insecurity was revealed. Another Mason family hit.
Give me all the Myairs in world. I loved his humor. I really liked Inalia aka Nali from the previous book, so I was excited to read about her.
I mean, there's not much more I can say about the Mason Crew that I haven't said already. I just get a new twinge of love for them which each book.
I enjoyed Nali and Myairs build up to them meeting, to their time hanging and getting to know each other, to the relationship, to their own personal insecurities and everything else in between.
I loved the wedding and the relationship Myair, Simeon and Landyn (aka Blink) have with their parents, especially their mother. So heart warming.
I cannot wait to read more and hate that I have to wait. I think I missed One and Sages love story, because it's part of another series as well, so I'm going to go seek that out bc I'm sure it's just a great as the rest have been.
Ashley Nicole give me All the Mason stories. This is such a delightful series. Highly Highly Highly recommend it.
Ready for the next episode of Life With The Masons
How can I not love Myair?! Oh my, my, my. He was so hilarious and complex. To feel insecure about himself and opening up to his parents about was so encouraging. That had to be hard. He and Nali just do it for me. Their goofy and fun with one another. Seeing how his parents interact with one another moved me. Then you added Zenaida and Rook! Omg, I was in tears! That part when Myair said he was going to put his balls on Nali's eyelids....took me clean out! I love all of the Masons books but this is by far my favorite. These two are couple goals, especially since I see myself in Nali. Can't wait for the next episode
Inalia and Myair met in a family trip when he saved her, but they don't remember each other not until they see each other again. When Inalia knew he was the Mason she wanted, she put herself out there and Myair grabbed her. This story became my favorite, Myair was such a gentleman but funny as well. There relationship was so beautiful and I loved how it developed slowly. They were perfect for each other. Every Mason had something special about them and Myair was no different. I swear I love this family and hope they never end, it is enough of them for this to happen!!! I'm mad it took me this long to get here, but I'm glad I came!!!
Myair’s story wasn’t a story that I was anticipating but I’m glad that we got it. Inalia is Irilin’s sister and boy are they opposites. I don’t know how either of them made it out barely unscathed with that looney toon a$$ mother they had. They need to get her help asap!
I really loved the chemistry between Myair and Inalia. I’m a sucker for the banter and sarcasm and the couple delivered on both. Minimal drama and Maximum BDE. Simeon is up next and I can’t really say that I was anticipating his story either but I hope that it’s as good as the others. I can’t wait for Taylor to meet her match, it’s definitely time.
I enjoyed the love story. I am interested in reading a few others from the series and by the author. But there were A LOT Of names. Too many that were not relevant to the story, in my opinion. AT one point they went to a wedding and there were a few other sets of names involved in that storyline that were not related to the story. The endless list of cousins, were fine because it is a part of the Mason story. But, some of the other sideline character names and details were unimportant and took away from the story, to me. Also, there were a few editing details missed. Overall the story was good, and I will definitely read another.
Myair and Inalia met under unusual circumstances with him saving her from drowning and that left a lasting impression on both of them. I felt for Myair growing up in a huge clan and not feeling his own individuality. I’m glad that he went and spoke to his parents to get clarity before he lost out on a good woman who loved him for him and not just trying to bag a Mason. Gil was a prime example of a man shouldn’t think more of himself than he actually is. He got what he deserved from Myair being thrown off the train and Inalia being fired for trying to sabotage her at work.
