Edgar Cayce, The Meaning of Life and What to Do About It: Second Edition

Rate this book
If you believe it’s likely or even simply possible we humans are spiritual beings having a temporary physical experience, this book is a must-read. Author and metaphysician Stephen Hawley Martin interviewed three authorities steeped in the information contained in the more than 14,000 psychic readings given by Edgar Cayce [1877-1944] and received answers to the big questions we humans have been wondering about since we first walked upright on the African savanna. Martin shares the interviews and the answers in this volume along with a book he wrote recently that you can use to help you find and pursue your purpose.

Known worldwide during his lifetime as “The Sleeping Prophet,” Edgar Cayce twice-daily put himself into a hypnotic trance and was able to answer any question put to him. As the very extensive record shows, the accuracy of information revealed by Cayce that could be checked and verified was absolutely extraordinary.

This book has little about Edgar Cayce, and more of the author's interpretation of Edgar Cayce's readings. The author applies "the sleeping prophet's" readings to business and business practices.

Great book. It gives you a roadmap for improving your life. I needed the guidance and look forwatd to utilizing it in my life. Edgar Cayce was an amazing man. Loved learning more about him. Stephen Martin has an understanding of life that I am so glad he is sharing with us. Really informative and timely.

I loved the 2nd half of the book more than the first.

The first part of the book is in interview format. Having read “There is a River” (excellent book), much of the 1st half was redundant. From about 65% on, I really enjoyed and was pleased to see Edgar Cayce’s take on the meaning of life. I only wish I could have met the man when he was alive. Where (who) is he now?

I'm all for improving ones life and this book puts that into perspective. We should all take a little time to see if we are meeting our goals. My mother always like Edgar Cayce and talked about him when I was growing up.
