Come visit Dorset Hills, where the women are feisty, the men are charming and the dogs steal the show. What more could you want from heartwarming cozy romance mysteries? This unique series has all the suspense and quirky humor of cozy mystery... yet no one ever dies! These small-town capers will leave you laughing, sighing and hugging your own pup tight.
If you love small towns, amateur sleuths, and dogs with huge personalities, you’ll want to dive into this lighthearted and clean collection of four books.
Calm and Bright in Dog Town – A Christmas Eve lovers’ quarrel. A frantic search for the perfect, furry gift. Will a Dog Town Christmas mysterious miracle be enough to heal the rift?
Tried and True in Dog Town – When the mayor appoints Marti Forrester to preside over Dog Court, she steps up despite her misgivings--and a mysterious enemy. Hank, her sweet pup, is hardly a model mutt and she’s fallen out with husband Oliver over the dog’s antics. She’ll need to hide her furry little secret long enough to do some good for Dog Town’s canine rascals.
Yours and Mine in Dog Town – Sasha is shocked to learn that her sweet pooch Tuni is unexpectedly expecting. Accidental puppies aren’t exactly good news in Dog Town, especially when the puppy-daddy is a mystery. All signs point to a brawny bulldog but his annoyingly appealing owner denies responsibility. With the City targeting her new grooming salon, Sasha regrets her move to Dorset Hills. But Tuni’s Valentine’s Day delivery might just give her the second chance she deserves.
Nine Lives in Dog Town – Can a pet-phobic PR person and a chivalrous veterinarian solve the purrfect crime? Evie Springdale is hired to fix political problems in Dorset Hills. But when the cat she's reluctantly adopted sniffs out a scandal, suddenly Evie herself becomes the problem that needs to be fixed. Sleuthing may not be in her job description, but with eight career catastrophes behind her, she's determined to open her heart to pets, solve the mystery and make her ninth life shine.
If you've loved these four laugh-out-loud stories, you won't want to leave Dog Town till you've read the final collection in this COMPLETE series of 11 books.
Sandy Rideout has always been obsessed with animals and writing. She writes humorous and heartwarming mysteries for pet-lovers, including the Bought-the-Farm series (as Ellen Riggs), the Dog Town series, and the paranormal Mystic Mutts series.

Calm and Bright in Dog Town Calm and Bright in Dog Town is a fast Christmas read about Flynn and her husband, Denver. Six months ago, Flynn lost her beloved Majesty to cancer and she’s still not handling it well. Denver wants another dog, but Flynn isn’t ready. This story about loss has some bright notes, as well as sad notes. I literally laughed out loud, at one point. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see if you laugh too. I loved catching up with some of the residents of Dog Town aka Dorset Hills and I’m looking forward to the next book.
Tried and a True in Dog Town Marti got a bad deal, when the mayor reassigned her. She makes the best of her time as the Judge in Dog court, but she makes enemies. Her estranged husband, Oliver, throws a monkey wrench in her plans, when he leaves Hank, their dog, with her. How can she judge fairly, when she can’t even control Hank, lol. I thought that the Mayor’s luncheon was hilarious. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Sandy Rideout is one of my new favorite authors.
Yours and Mine in Dog Town Sandy Rideout has given us another winner with Yours and Mine in Dog Town. I loved Sasha’s story. She may not have lived in Dog Town for years, but she sure can make the right friends. I absolutely loved Bart’s character. If you’re looking for a feel good story about friends coming together in your time of need, this book nails it. Grab your copy and get ready to fall in love Tuni and read about the characters we’ve fallen for in the previous books. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Nine Lives in Dog Town We get another romantic suspense set in Dorset Hills, aka Dog Town. This book features the Easter holiday and tells the story of Evie. Evie has been hired by Mayor Bradshaw along with his new Chief of Staff, Zeke. They like to throw her to the wolves, so to speak, without giving her any notice or information. On Evie’s first day home after work, she finds an injured cat between the screen door and the front door. Roberto isn’t just any ole cat though. Even if she is highly allergic, she takes the cat to the vet, where she meets, Dr. Jon Benson. I won’t leave any spoilers because I think everyone will love this newest addition to these series and should read it for themselves. I will say, it was nice catching up with some of my favorite characters from the previous books.
Calm and Bright in Dog Town is a quick Christmas read. When you have been owned by a magnificent dog, it is difficult to move on without your canine companion. Come see how Flynn and Denver deal with this. Wonderful new and old dogs, the rescue mafia group, new and personable characters and a sweet story for your Christmas reading pleasure. I love the concept of Dog Town, but we need to run this mayor out of town! I vote for no bad mayors! (When you read Tried and True in Dog Town, you will understand.) Forcing poor Marti to be a judge who banishes bad dogs (especially since she owns one) is cruel and unusual punishment. With her own bad dog, a failing marriage, a mystery, and being the bad guy separating families from their pets, it is amazing that Sandy Rideout can bring this tale to a very satisfying conclusion. Yours and Mine in Dog Town is another great story from Sandy Rideout. The characters are always amazing. I loved Sasha, Bart and Tuni. It is always nice to catch up on the characters from previous books. There were a few twists to keep the reader interested in the story. Sandy Rideout's saga of life in Dog Town continues with maybe the best story yet - Nine Lives in Dog Town. The mayor needs some help after recent fiascoes such as his failed dog court. Enter Evie(who is allergic to animals) to handle PR. The mayor and his chief of staff Zeke keep throwing Evie to the wolves, but saying they have things handled. Ha! Evie gets adopted by a very unusual cat who keep bringing home exotic animals. Where is the cat getting these creatures? With the help of a handsome vet, the Rescue Mafia and her cat, can Evie unravel the mystery? You will love spending time in Dog Town!
I love Dog Town! I want to live there with all the dogs and characters and be a part of the Rescue Mafia. Every story you laugh out loud at the antics of the dogs and the people, although the dogs are still the stars of the stories. I read all 4 books separately, but I’m so glad they’re all together in a box set so I can read them again. Ms. Rideout is a wonderful author and I always look forward to her next book.
This is a wonderful book series! I thoroughly enjoy reading about these animals and the impact they make on each one. Can’t wait to start the next set of this book series!
