I hate not finishing books. I despise it. I always give them chance after chance to get better. Normally, I finish the book before the chances run out. Not this time.

I wanted to like this book. It seemed like it was going to be a fun read. It has potential but this book seriously needs to pass through the hands of an editor or two...or five.
The characters aren't likable. All I know about Lily is that she has OCD. I got to hear about it every few pages.
Shade was no more likable. All he seemed to think about was how Lily would taste. Spoiler alert: it's like strawberries.
I just couldn't get into the dialog. I didn't like the characters. And unfortunately, as much as I'm wondering what that strange lightning was and what's going to happen, I can't force myself to read another page.

All ratings are hard for me. I really need a 10 point scale. This would probably be a 7 on a 10 point scale. This trilogy had a lot of elements I like - romance, paranormal, alpha males, good storylines. However, it was a bit too heavy on the erotica and the stories were rushed. If the books were longer, there probably would have been better character development. If the main characters do more than kiss in the first 3 chapters, that's usually an indication that this is not the right book for me.

Nevertheless I enjoyed reading each of these books. The mystery of finding out what paranormal creature was contained in each of the girls kept me reading late into the night. And the answers will amaze you. I also liked the side stories. I don't mind the three-way so much. It was handled in a good way. I'm interested, if not eager to read Dante's story.

Mixed opinion

Let me start by saying, the writing is pretty bad. Beyond missing words and grammar issues, it's fairly simplistic and really hurts the narrative. The plots are a bit unrealistic and border on nonsensical. However, the concepts behind the stories and the characters manage to overcome much of the problems and make it almost readable.
The author's best writing skill is her ability to give us just enough information about peripheral characters in one book to make us interested in the next, where they are featured. Despite my 2 star review and that I'd never recommend this author to someone, I'm actually curious enough about Nadie and Dante that I will consider buying their book. I probably won't, but there is a temptation.

This series had so much potential to be good...but it fell short. It needed a good editing. Grammatical errors, rushed endings and pretty much the same story repeated. The dialogue wasn't believable, for me. Although, there is the intrigue to find out what the other 4 girls turn into..but I more than likely will not be purchasing the rest of the series.

It appears the author self published. Author desperately needs an editor. A really good one.

The set would have gotten three stars except there were so many needless errors.

"She wore ankle high books with buckles". Also, missing words, wrong words, etc.

This series is more erotica than romance.

The original premise that 7 close friends were struck by lightning waking up the dominant paranormal strain in their DNA is really interesting. It had my interest from the moment the lightning struck. Then add to it the fact that they each needed to find their "true halves" to unlock the power that ignited inside them and I was pretty ready to jump in feet first.

Each character gets their own book tied together by overall plot of A) Being struck by paranormal lightning and B) The racial fall out of adding 7 previous humans into various paranormal realms. I was on board to find out how things were going to go.

Book 1 - Dust of My Wings

This was my favourite of this set. The novel introduces us to Ryan's world where paranormals secretly exist and humans are the result of centuries of cross breeding paranormals. And of course to Dante's Circle the bar where the 7 friends hang out and are struck by lightning.

Lily is the friend followed in this novel. She is smart, sweet and struggles with OCD-like behaviours. She is a sympathetic character who I was really rooting for throughout the novel. Enter her true half, Shade, a warrior angel trying to protect the secret of the paranormals. The attraction is instant (a side effect of the true half mythos) and upon consummating their relationship Lily's paranormal identity is revealed.

So while Lily and Shade come together as a couple they also show the powers that be what will continue to happen to the lightning-struck women and paranormal politics comes to the forefront of the story. Despite their individual story being concluded the repercussions of the lighting strike are just starting.

Book 2 - Her Warriors Three Wishes

This book was more sex and action heavy. Its also where the reader is really introduced to the concept that true halves can come in triads.

Jamie owns an independent book store. She is loyal, caring and smart. Her known true half, Ambrose, has run away from her because of his own history. However in his MANY years of life he has managed to make some enemies. An old nemesis decides to take revenge by kidnapping Jamie and bringing her to hell. In hell Jamie meets a werewolf named Hunter who promises to protect her and a demon named Ballin who feels the true half bond pulling tightly at him.

Jamie is part of a triad. One that is unconventional because it includes a demon and an angel; whose paranomal realms are enemies. United with both her halves they enter into a sexual relationship and unlock Jamie's paranormal potential in order to help them survive hell. They have to battle their way out, rescue each other and also liberate Hunter from the gladiatorial arena.

The fast pace and action kept this book going. Once on the surface issues started to really heat up as Jamie meets her people and the group has to start coming to terms with the fact that they aren't going to be easily accepted into their new world.

What I really liked here was how seamlessly Ryan introduced Hunter into the saga. He would turn out to be the true half of another of the lightning-struck. Lots of fate and destiny taking control here.

Book 3 - An Unlucky Moon

This story focuses on Becca and finding her place among Hunter's pack. The pack is in the middle of political upheaval as a group of wolf shifters are trying to upset the pack organization and take power from the alpha and beta (Hunter). I enjoyed Ryan's hierarchy and organization of pack politics. It showed thoughtfulness in her writing. Becca and Hunter recognizing each other for what they were (true halves) and navigating that relationship was also really interesting.

Becca has never had a family and like Jamie, struggles with the idea that her choice (in mates) has been taken from her. Its really nice to see Becca and Hunter learn each other. I also appreciate the importance that Ryan puts on consent.

This volume in the saga blends the relationship and the action a lot better. It also further winds together the strings of the overall arching plot when it becomes obvious that there is a strand of paranormal dissidents working behind the scenes to grab more power and disrupt their world. As the individual story wraps up the stakes of the lightning-struck are getting higher and higher. Its obvious that the lightning was sent on purpose; but why?

Something I noted though was that almost all the male characters at some point mention being bisexual but all of the female characters seem to be straight. That irks me.

I’m so glad I’m done with this. Whew, I made it. Almost buckled at the last book, but I did it! FYI I listened on chirp, so if you’re curious about narration, I got you covered! Here is the review.

Ohmygoodness, so bad. But its gets two stars because it made me laugh so much. No, it’s not supposed to be funny, but it really really was.

The writing is not great. I found the dialogue awkward, and there were odd little things that didn’t quite fit. For example a guy gets his head looped off, but just before the head falls he says something. How did he say something if a blade just went through his vocal cords? That kinda thing.

I also felt like it tried a little too hard to be super steamy. There is a threesome and some really awkward dialogue precedes it. I mean all three of them had to verbally process all their nerves and anxiety, but they all REALLY want to do it, but not so much that they’re just going to... you know—do it. Don’t get me wrong, good communication with your sexual partners IS very important... but in a scene that’s supposed to sexy it just really ruins the mood.

The narration gets an A for effort, but um... his style of narration just really highlighted how bad the writing was. I don’t think he was a good choice for this particular series, his style isn’t great for this kind of book. But that’s just me, and you may enjoy it! Check out the sample before you buy.

I cannot say that I would recommend this one to anyone, unfortunately. Although if you want a smutty read that you can just escape with, it’s really not a bad option. Honestly, I enjoy Twilight, and 50 Shades of Gray as an escape when I need it and we all know those are both highly questionable in terms of quality. This is better than either of those, so you’re not really out in the cold with it. And this IS smutty. Come get your smut on honey!

It looks as if every human possesses some supernatural DNA in their genetic makeup - what if something happens to trigger that element?
Seven young women, best friends, regularly meet at Dante's bar. When one night, the young women and the bar's owner, Dante, are hit by a strange lightning from a not normal seiming storm inside the bar, none of them knows how much that will change them.
These first three books in the series tell the stories of three of these women - Lily, Jamie, and Becca, meeting their - supernatural - other half, and having to fight against evil, both in the human and in the supernatural realms, before they have a chance for happiness.
I found the concept interesting and intriguing, that every human has a bit of the supernatural in them. Readers of Carrie Ann Ryans book may guess how that piece of DNA is triggered (*wiggles eyebrows suggestively*). I also loved the different species that came up in these books - definitely not your usual shifters, angels, or demons!
With her easily flowing and past paced narration, sympathetic protagonists with realistic quirks and character traits, and good plots with enough twists and turns to make heads spin, the author again manages to create hours and hours of just sheer reading fun.
I just wish the editor was as good as the author, because there are always too many spelling errors than I can tolerate.

Dante’s Circle: Books 1-3

7 women meet up regularly at their favorite bar Dante’s Circle. It’s owned and run by their favorite bartender & friend Dante. One night as they are hanging out in the bar, just the 8 of them, lightning strikes them all and fate changes their lives forever.

Book 1: Lily a lab tech meets Shade an angel when he’s sent to reclaim his wing dust that has someone been collected by a human. He needs to get it taken care of before she finds out about the paranormal world.

Book 2: Pyro a demon from hell has Jaime kidnapped as retaliation to her true half Ambrose. It isn’t until he tries to show His captive off to his son Balin that Pyro realizes that he might have made mistake, he changes plans quickly thinking that this will be an even better outcome only to have both Pyro & Ambrose settle the score.

Book 3: Hunter assisted Jaime, Balin, and Ambrose’s escape from hell and runs right into one of Jaime’s friends, Becca. Now as he tries to settle his pack that has fallen out of hand since Hunter was dragged to hell, he must also convince Becca that it isn’t only fate that pulls them together.

Love this series so far, such a fun read. I haven’t ever been one to read paranormal books all that much but I’ve gotten so wrapped into this series there is no turning back.

Read : April 26th 2019
Rating : 3 Stars

This is a three for one on Amazon and a freebie.

The boxset features the first three books in the Dante's Circle Series :
1: Dust of my wings( Lily and Shade's story)
2: Her warriors' three whishes( Jamie, Ambrose and Bailin's story)
3: An unlucky moon( Becca and Hunter's story)

Of the three I likes Lily and Shade's story the most, closely followed by Jamie, Ambrose and Bailin's story. I didn't really like Becca and Hunter's story but that is probably also because i'm not the biggest fan of werewolf books.

The Dante's Circle Series centers mainly around the seven lighting struck women and their stories but I believe after this it also branches out to other characters you meet along the way.

The explanation for why the seven women were struck by lightning is not really mentioned so after three books we're still in the dark about that but the idea behind it is kind of cool.

Granted I’m only three books into the series, but I kind of wish there was some explanation as to how or why the girls were chosen.

I did like how the author introduced the true halves like in book one Ambrose met Jamie and they both knew they were connected, and in book two the attraction was elaborated on.

I didn’t like how the books were repetitive. True halves were revealed, they stayed away from each other until they were weak, got together, banged it out, apologized for leaving them alone, promising to never leave. More sex, kill the bad guy, end of book. I’m not sure I will continue the series, well, only maybe to see who Faith’s true half might be. I would recommend this book if someone is looking for a quick read and if they really like to read graphic sex scenes. (That’s why I bumped to a 2 Star)

Below you will find my review for all 3 individual books from this bundle!!!!

REVIEW FOR DUST OF MY WINGS BOOK 1

Let me start by saying I LOVE Carrie Ann Ryan and I am a huge fan of hers, so when I was asked to read the Dante's Circle series for an event for Literal Addiction, I was honored to do so. I have read her Redwood Series and her Holiday Series but never got to this one because I thought if I feel in love with this series too than I was going to offically become a stalker of Carrie Ann's and become creepy. :)

I have never read anything like this, the mix of so many supernatural species peeked my curiosity and had me thinking how Carrie Ann is going to build this world and have it mesh well.

I enjoyed the setup of the world in the Dante's Circle series and I can see this series going for the long run. I love how the title of the series clicked for me and realized that Book 1 was setting up the rest in the series nicely.

I do want to say the Kindle version of Dust of My Wings had some typos and was missing some punctuation that through me off a little bit. It's hard sometimes for me to turn off my inner editor. But it did not deter me from the story or the plot.

I felt that in the beginning it was a little slow starting and by the end it was a little rushed. I think because I have read all of Carrie Ann's other series I know what to expect from her as a writer and I know how her series grow with each book, so I was a little disappointed with the pace of book 1 overall.

The plot and characters overall had me enthralled thou and I felt that she did a great job with Lily and her character development, in the end all the little "compulsions" made sense. I do hope that throughout the rest of the novels in this series we get to see Lily blossom as I'm sure she is going to.

Shade came right out of my fantasies, the dark hair, blue eyes....Mmm! I love how Carrie Ann showed us his torment of being torn between his duty and his heart.

A few things I am excited about regarding this series as a whole; I want to see where Carrie Ann is going to take this world, I know what she is capable of and I know the reader is in for a treat with this one. I also want to know more about Dante himself.

Overall I was pleased with Dust of My Wings, Book 1 in Carrie Ann Ryan's Dante's Circle series and give it 4 out of 5, I am excited to see what happens next.

REVIEW FOR HER WARRIOR'S THREE WISHES BOOK 2

Before I read a book, I like to read the synopsis, it gets me hyped up about the book. I do this before I watch a movie too, I'll go online and watch the trailer. I know I'm weird. So after reading the synopsis and seeing the cover of this book AND having read one of Carrie Ann's "triads" before in another series that left my heart racing and opened me up to a few new things in the world of romance, I was itching to start Book 2 in her Dante's Circle Series knowing we were going to have a triad.

Her Warriors Three Wishes exceeded my expectations. I love this story.

Jaimie, Ambrose, and Bailin are the perfect triad. They complete each other, which shows Carrie Ann's talent for character development. These characters on their own are amazing, well developed and intriguing but together they are a force to be reckoned with. I love how Jaimie stands strong no matter what she's facing and in this story she faces a lot. As a reader you can't blame Ambrose for his fear and your heart aches for Bailin. Knowing that they will face all the odds and face them together makes this an amazing love story.

On the heat meter I give it a 10!!! I have read M/M before and I love how tasteful Carrie Ann writes it and how as the reader you are not turned off by the chemistry and love between our Alphas, and with Jaimie in the middle of this alpha sandwich the heat just keeps rising.

The world of the Dante's Circle just keeps getting better and deeper. I was very happy with the growth of Carrie Ann's writing from book 1 to this book. Again I know what depths Carrie Ann can take a series to and I can see how deep she will go with this series.

I am a huge fan of Carrie Ann and her work, I happily give Her Warriors Three Wishes, Book 2 in the Dante's Circle Series, 5 out of 5! I think Carrie Ann has a niche for triads and I am happy that there was one in this series and I hope for more.

REVIEW FOR AN UNLUCKY MOON BOOK 3

I knew Hunter was going to get his story as soon as we met him in Her Warriors’ Three Wishes, he was such an impact character. I am so glad that he found love with one of the Dante's Circle woman. Even if it was the one who happened to be the unluckiest person alive. Seriously how many times does her life have to be in danger, he definitely has his hands full with this one.

Becca is a stubborn one who has lost too much so I am not surprised when she wants to take things slow, but when the cruelty of their enemies forces them to move faster than she wants, will she be able to put her stubbornness aside to allow fate to give her the permanency in life she has always wanted.

I love that Carrie Ann touched on another set of characters in this book, ever since Book 1 I wanted to know more about Dante and we get a few glimpses of what's happening with him, which I am so excited about.

This is not my favorite in the series so far, I think it's because I am in love with the triad and I am so excited for Dante and Nadie's story, but I did love this one and appreciate the story. The world of Dante's Circle series is enthralling and with each book gets deeper and deeper as does Carrie Ann's writing.

I was honored to get a copy of An Unlucky Moon early for review and Give it 4 out of 5. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment and can't wait to see where ts series goes with each book.

Interesting start to a series

The author does a good job with world building and laying the foundation for following stories. And in subsequent stories she does a good job hardening back to previous books without being too repetitive yet still being informative. That’s a fine line and she walks it well.

As for the individual books, I liked book one, liked the story premise in book two but the heroine was really annoying and I liked book three though the heroine there was mamby-pamby which grated. All the male main characters are great though!

Wolfy goodness

So far this is my favorite in this series and it’s all due to Hunter.

I completely fell for his blunt attitude and unapologetic dominating tendencies. He was open and honest about who he is and his desire and of course love for Becca. I laughed at his humor and growliness. And my heart warmed as he showed his tenderness.

Of course Becca was no slouch either. She was feisty and even a bit of a butt kicker when the situation called for it.

So bring it on - I’m ready for another installment from this fun group of friends.

The three paranormal romance stories in this box set will enchant you with their courageous, resilient characters and the unique situations that lead each character to his or her own true half. The storyline in each of these three books was intriguing and the excitement and drama was off of the charts. I find reading the stories of these seven lightning struck women very addictive. It's always a surprise to see just what direction the plot will take. Great Read! Lots and Lots of Action!!!!!

Wasn't sure what to expect

Sometimes I just spend a while downloading samples an KU books to sift through. Not sure what caught my eye on this one but glad it did. I could see myself rereading these later. The only thing that could be better would be the conflict resolution. Seemed a little abrupt in all 3 stories. Not a deal breaker for me, just an observation. Some typos, hot spice (for quality, not quantity), fantasy fated mate romances, book 1- M/F; book 2 - poly M/F/M M/F, & M/M (swords cross); book 3 - M/F

I was actually a little disappointed with this 3 book bundle and glad I got it as a free read. They sounded so good when reading the overviews. At times I found myself skipping pages and rushing thru parts. It's like there was a lot going on, keeping up with all the background info and all the extra characters while reading detailed sex and dirty talk between the characters. For me the usual easy flow of the plot was off. Just okay.

Supernatural fiction and erotica

Overall a great concept with interesting premise, although a little heavy on the sex. Would have been four stars but the author has been let down by her proof reader, the books are littered with silly mistakes and homophones that (although easily missed with a computer grammar/spell check) a proof reader really ought to have picked up on. I tried to let it go, but found it sadly pulled me out of the story in several places.

Really great start to the Dante's Circle series from Carrie Ann Ryan. This is a collection of three novellas that introduces the reader to three sexy couples with a little bit of paranormal thrown in. With more books in the series you're going to want to discover how all the ladies find their HEA so be sure to have them ready to go. Good reads!
